Speaker 1 (00:01):
Today's Daily Highlight from Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
So, yeah, we were going for a little while a
couple of weeks, I know, and I was following you, guys,
I was stalking you. And it looks like everyone had
a great time. Some of us went out of the country.
Some of us stayed in the country did things that
we should be doing in the country. Like Froggy for instance,
he went to Washington, d C. Our nation's capital. How

(00:25):
crazy and beautiful is that city walking amongst all those
iconic structures and everything, And did you go to museums
or anything?

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Yeah, I did on Tuesday, I know Wednesdays usually on Wednesday.
It was gorgeous, perfect weather day. We walked twenty five
thousand steps around Washington, d C. From the White House
to the to the Lincoln Memorial, to the Washington to
the Jefferson to the all the World War Two, Vietnam Memorial,
Korean War Memorial, the one with the Marine Memorial where

(00:55):
they're holding pushing the flag up. We went to so
many places and it really is there so much. We
went to the Museum of Archives, saw the Declaration of Independence,
which is pretty cool to see. Around July fourth, We
saw the bill Wrights and obviously the original Constitution is
still there and preserved. It was great to walk around
and see all that. It's cool.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Yeah, another reason we should thank Nicholas Cage for saving
The Declaration.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
That was my dad's favorite movie.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Yeah, it was, Danielle, What did you do last week?
The week before?

Speaker 4 (01:22):
Oh my gosh, so many things.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
So we started out actually going to see Buenavista Social
Club on Broadway, which is amazing.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
You have to see it.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
We saw a show in Brooklyn called The Jury and
it's kind of like an interactive thing where you're the
jury and you are the one who says whether this
person is guilty or not guilty. It was actually really
really really cool. Yeah, you may want to see that.
We went to Fanatics Fest. It feels like it was
two thousand years ago. But I got to meet KSI
thanks to Michael Rubin, which he said on our show

(01:51):
right before we went on vacation, and it happened, So
thank you Michael Rubin for that. But we were in Miami,
we went to we stayed at the Fountain Blue, which
you guys know we love. We went to Raccoon Island
and we had the raccoons, and I thought of Gandhi
the whole time.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
They don't let Gandhi raccoon steals them every time she goes.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Yes, we did led kayaking, guys in the like, so
at night we went kayaking with led lights in Miami,
the most beautiful thing you'll ever see.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Of course, we went on a Norwegian cruise.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
We went on the Norwegian gym for three days to
the Bahamas and there we did, Oh my gosh, so
many things we we I mean we went, we went
wave running, We swam with pigs.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
I mean it was just I love you swimming with pigs.
It's my favorite thing. But you know what I saw,
what what I will never forget is just looking at
the happiness in your you and your family's faces, and
you were having fun with each other.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
And there's nothing like creating memories with your family. And
when you have two teenage boys that still want to
hang out with you, man, it is a good day.
So we we really did.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
We had the best time ever, so much fun.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
I love that. And I watching Scary with his family.
He took his family uh to Jamaica, and it looks
like you guys just had a blast and you know what,
and since your mother passed away, what it has been
has been two years, almost about a year and a
half now, Yeah, exactly. You have become closer with your family.
You know, you're doing these things, and wow, it just

(03:19):
looks like you bonded. You're bonding in these these excursions,
are you not. Oh no, absolutely.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
We spent like seven days together in a villa with
my family and my extended family, so I was. I
got to have some pool time with my nephews and
my niece, and we went to the beach together my
dad of course, you know, at the center of it all,
got to smoke some weed with my dad, which is okay, hold.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
On, awkward and fun at the same time.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
I wish I could have talked to your dad because
the first time I've smoked we was scary a thousand
years ago. I vowed never to do it again because
you're the weirdest stoner in the world.

Speaker 5 (03:55):
Well, my father told it an interesting story while he
was high about you, Elvis.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
It's not true I did not touch your father.

Speaker 5 (04:02):
That it was my brother and my sister, my father
and a bunch of us and I and a bunch
of stoners and extended family, and my father was sitting
there as Dark Side of the Moon from Pink Floyd
was playing, and we were sitting around the pool and
he takes a head. He goes, yeah, I gotta tell
you something about my son. He doesn't know it, but
back in the day, I was invited to smoke some

(04:24):
weed with Elvis and you weren't invited. And I'm telling
you that now twenty five years later, and I'm like,
what key way back? Remember?

Speaker 2 (04:34):
I can't wait? He remember that ahead, my father said.

Speaker 5 (04:37):
He goes, yeah, man, he goes Elvis, he goes, and
you didn't know you weren't invited to the party. You
was somewhere else in the somewhere in the background. But
he took me into a room and we all passed
the joint around. Why Elvis and everybody and Danielle, I
don't know if you were there part of that, but anyway,
but my dad was like, and I'm sitting there and
I'm high, and I'm looking at him like, Elvis didn't

(04:59):
invite me to a pot party, but he invited you.
And he says, yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
He took another hit, and I don't think your dad
wanted to smoke in front of you. He didn't. He
didn't because he didn't know that I smoked. But now
here we are.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
The revelation was made at the pool in Jamaica, all these.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Years later, and I'm getting high with dad. Scary listen,
not dwell on this part. There are other things you
did in Jamaica other than to smoke pot. Oh yeah,
of course, Okay, good right.

Speaker 5 (05:24):
He was at the beach and we you know, we
had a lot of fun, a lot of family meals together.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
You know, it sounds like you're most excited about smoking
pot with your dad.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
There was that I was. I spent a day in
at the Bahamas. I found myself at a pool party.
I was in Miami for a couple of nights. I
went to Bad Bunnies new restaurant, Get Go.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
It was great, Bunny he was not there. I was
hoping he would be. God, I didn' dream about him
the other night. Well, so we had a great time out. Nate,
you were in London and so was Gandhi. So tell me,
did you guys run into each other?

Speaker 5 (05:53):
Not?

Speaker 6 (05:53):
I actually was on the way to the airport when
you guys were landing. But I went there my brother,
his wife, and my two nieces were doing a trip
to London and they's like, come join us. And so
my brother. If you think I'm a nerd, my brother
is an even bigger history nerd. So you combine the
two of us. We actually went to this place called
the Imperial War Museum and they had to kick us out.

(06:15):
This guy comes up, excuse me, you know we're closed,
and we were so engrossed in tags and all these
old maps. This excuse me, you know you have to
go now. And so now we just had. We had
the greatest time. I was able to just you know,
nerd out with my brother for a few days and
then to see my nieces experience it.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
It was just so much fun.

Speaker 6 (06:37):
I mean I remember as a kid, our big vacation
was going to a cottage on a lake and here's
my nieces and they're in London, in another country.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
So to see them.

Speaker 6 (06:45):
Experience it, it was just so so much fun.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
I'm so glad I got that. Yeah, if for anyone
listening who's never been out of the country on vacation,
London is the greatest place to start. Oh getting out
of it's drug using your passport and so gandhi. Yes,
of course, the number one thing that Danielle and I
were all about with you is like, you got to
eat Indian food. You're there, yes, because you're you know,
you're a neighborhood Indiana, and you did. But you did

(07:09):
lots of other stuff too with to click from our show, uh,
and you went to Portugal talk about all of it.

Speaker 7 (07:14):
Portugal is probably one of the most beautiful places I've
ever been in my entire life. This trip for me
was one of the best trips I've ever been on.
We went to Nazaree where the giant waves are. That
was amazing, just to see that whole area. We went
to CenTra where there's this castle that looks like it's
straight out of a fairy tale. The pictures don't even
do it justice. No picture I took did anything justice,

(07:37):
but it was beautiful. We rode around on scooters. We
stayed in Lisbon most of the time. We went to
cass Guys. We ate the best seafood ever and we
just had a really, really good time. And then we
went to London and we met up with Andrew and
Josh who were there, and we ate, drink and smoked
our way through London and it was wonderful. We went shopping,
We went and saw A Midsummer Night's Dream, which was

(07:58):
like an immersive experience. We did the Tower Bridge, we
did the Tower of London, the British Museum, the London.
I we did so much and there's still so much
to do. And I was up late last night looking
at apartments in London.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
Ha ha.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (08:13):
So if you know you need a correspondent overseas, I
will happily do it.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
It was great.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
You know, years ago we took the entire show to
London and we did our show there for a few
days and that was quite the experience.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Yeah, Gotty and I've been talking about how we can
get you to do that again.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
I would happily do it if you can just get
someone to pay for it. Let's go.

Speaker 7 (08:30):
I think I'm in our tree house or art tree house.
It was called the Treehouse Hotel. It's right next to
the BBC Broadcasting building. So we walked behind it to see, hey,
do you have any space.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
In there for us?

Speaker 7 (08:41):
And it turns out they do, so, you know, I
think that will be good to go.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
Oh yeah, that's awesome, Colin, let's do it.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
I just looked at that London trip was almost fourteen
years ago. Oh really, Oh my god, that was twenty eleven,
November of eleven.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Do you think they forgot about just being there because
they asked us never to come back. They give us
another chance?

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Oh lord?

Speaker 2 (09:01):
So two weeks in Italy. My look. I love London,
I love Portugal, I love Greece, I love Jamaica, I
love them all. Italy will always be my number one spot.
So we did a week in the heel of the boot.

Speaker 7 (09:17):
Was it hot as hell for you guys?

Speaker 2 (09:19):
It was really hot. It was it hot in London.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
Oh it was.

Speaker 7 (09:23):
We were cooking, it was.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Yeah, we were hot too, and we're walking like. So
we were in Pulia. And I've been everywhere through Italy
throughout many years. I'd never been down there, and I
will say it is my favorite part of Italy because
it's a very thin strip of land. Therefore you're so
close to the sea, because you're also close to some mountains,
and it's great. I didn't eat the horse, and let
me tell you about that. A lot of a lot

(09:48):
of the restaurants in Pulia they serve horse like slics
of horse, and so I didn't. I didn't partake. I'm
telling you right now. I didn't eat a horse, but
I did try a lot of new things Italian to
I'd never had before, and it was incredible. Then the
second week I went to post A Tana, which I've
been to maybe a dozen times in my life, and
I never get tired of it. It is the most beautiful,

(10:09):
beautiful spot in Italy. Some would argue against that, but
oh it was great. But being with friends that I
love so much, we just we laughed so hard, we
were hurting in pain, and it was pretty cool. I know, Nate,
you ate horse when you're in Iceland. Yeah, you're not
missing anything. Elvis.

Speaker 6 (10:27):
It was the chewiest thing. If I think back to it,
I can still think of chewing it.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Did they cook it? Was it cooked?

Speaker 6 (10:34):
Or does it? Was it a love with course cooked?
It was a course coat instead of beef on their menu.
They have a lot of horse because they don't have
you know, they have a lot of native Icelandic horses there,
and so it's just very very very very chewy.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Well, I'm already going to eat it and didn't get
in you're eating it, yes, Danielle.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
I just want to go back can I just say
one more thing. We went to Atlantis as well, and
you know they do not have horse, thank goodness, but
they have a lot of other beautiful things. And I
just want to say thank you because they set us
up with this really beautiful day. You guys remember our
friend kool Aid, who's like, oh yeah, he is, like
he is mister Atlantis.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
He was.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
He showed us the best time and he's like a
celebrity on.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
In the behind.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
He's a voice in the face of Atlanta.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
And Atlantis is just so much fun. So you need
to go.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
We may get back there pretty soon. Maybe I'm just
saying so yeah. Italy, Europe and in Washington, d C.
And Jamaica. We we covered the globe. We had a
great time out. It's it's always good to get home,
you know. July fourth, we were eating pasta and it
was great, but Alex whispered in my ear, I need

(11:45):
a hot dog now. I'm like, oh wow, should we
get to get out and go to the room. Oh
is that what you're talking about? So we grilled out
on July fifth. It was kind of nice, but we
had such a wonderful time. Traveling with people you love
is the way to do it, and uh, because it's
such a BONDI experience, truly, it was incredible. Uh yes, Gandhi.

Speaker 7 (12:06):
So I got back maybe three a m. On the
fourth of July, and I've never been here for the
Fourth of July, and all the time that I lived here,
I didn't know that they set those fireworks off right
outside my apartment on the Hudson. So yeah, they'd set
them off in two places at the Brooklyn Bridge and
then on the Hudson River. Right.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Yeah, we used to be only on the east side.
I think now they've moved to the west side as well.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
Cool.

Speaker 7 (12:31):
We got the best show of fireworks I have ever
seen in my life. It was crazy.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
You should throw a party next Fourth of July. We
now watched them from your.

Speaker 7 (12:40):
Europ Well, no, because I'll be living in London.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
Oh that's right.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
Fore, and for some reason, they don't celebrate the Fourth
of July in London. Gee, I wonder, remeber Greg t
Here's how come we don't see fireworks in London. I was, well,
because they don't like that holiday for us when they
didn't back in the day.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
He called my British husband and asked him, I have
to ask you a serious question.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
Do you guys celebrate the fourth of July.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
Sheldon looked at the phone like, he's not serious right now,
is he?

Speaker 6 (13:09):
He was
