to have more Real Day today and Morley Weekend, and
you must be present to win if you want a
good morning, Yeah, I gotta see you on the camera.
All right, good. You know this weekend we are we're
gonna be down the Jersey Shore at Jenks Point, Pleasant.
It's our jump start to summer. Thanks to Eminem. We're
all gonna get together tomorrow morning, bright and early and
watch the sun come up over the Atlantic Ocean and
(01:44):
if for uh god, you know, if we big enough
of a show, maybe we'll see the Pacific Ocean as well.
I don't know, we'll see what happened, you know. Whatever
performers will be there. Little John. I think we should
play a little John to wake here. Oh boy, there
you go, little John. It's gonna be a great weekend.
(02:06):
So here we go into the day. Now that we've
declared this the weekend on Thursday, I feel like pretty powerful. Hey,
let's go talk to line three. Letitia from Norwalk, Connecticut. Hi, Lettissia,
wake up.
Speaker 7 (02:18):
Hey Hi, oh wow, my gosh.
Speaker 6 (02:24):
Well you're joining us and already awake. So I'm hearing
that you are up early to drop your dog off
at your mom's place and you're heading to Costa Rica
for eight days. Is this true?
Speaker 8 (02:34):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Yes, I know, because I have to work all day.
So I was like, we have to dog first, you know,
like a really early drop her off so we can
get ready for tonight.
Speaker 6 (02:43):
Yeah, I'm with you. I'm doing the dog drop again
today too. And you know, I don't understand how parents
can deal with like multiple kids. I mean, one's enough,
but I mean, Danielle had you do it like two
kids dropping out? Two kids and you got to get
out of town. And I don't know how you figure
it out.
Speaker 7 (03:00):
You figure it out. You bang everybody with your car
seat and you you know, as you walk up by them,
it just happens. What are you gonna do?
Speaker 1 (03:08):
I know, my pets are my kids, right, so it's
like I always have to do everything around them.
Speaker 6 (03:12):
It's true, it's true. But Costa Rica for eight days.
Talk about that. That's that's the Blue Ribbon winner right there.
Tell me about it.
Speaker 5 (03:20):
I know.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
So we around this time, so my fiance his birthday Saturday,
mine's next week. So around this time every year we
try to do a trip just like us, you know,
celebrate us, and we we always do, like we were
in Europe and last September actually, and we want to
do something more adventurous, something different that we don't normally do.
(03:42):
So I was looking into Costa Rica and we're like, yes,
let's go stay at the rainforest, and like your hikes
and do some zip lining and the hot spring.
Speaker 6 (03:51):
So we're all about him, Laticia, You're gonna have the
best time. I mean, I mean, how many of them?
I think at least four of us have been to
Costa Rica? Right, I think it's awesome. Yeah, have a
great time. Tell the sloths. So I said, hello, and uh, hey,
what do you have for friend Latsia, she's on our
way to Costa Rica? Give me something festive?
Speaker 9 (04:08):
How about some Elvis Storan apparel to wear on your
way down there? And then maybe a T shirt on
the beach, how about there?
Speaker 10 (04:14):
You?
Speaker 7 (04:14):
I love it all.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
I love it all you guys, you guys, seriously, I've
been listening to you since I was maybe five years
old and thirty two now, like I you guys, you've
been a part of my life forever forever. So it's
like this is right now.
Speaker 6 (04:30):
If we were really a part of your life, you
would pack us up and take you take us with you.
Just say all right, you have a wonderful trip, and
stay safe and good luck dropping off the doggie, and
thanks for listening all these years. Be sure to appreciated.
Speaker 11 (04:44):
There you go, love you guys so much.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
There you go.
Speaker 6 (04:48):
Thank you, LATSI, You're the best Costa Rica packed ready
to go. You know what, I got my backpack for
somewhere else. But I'll just I'll divert I will do it.
You know, we had to play get low. We had
to play Little John got a text. Oh this poor lady,
she said, this thirty four year old mom of two
just threw her back out getting low. Oh I will.
I will in fact now be one of them bitches
(05:08):
crawling in the morning, to start crawling. Let's get into
the three things we need to know from Ghani and
get on with the day. What's going on all right?
Speaker 8 (05:18):
There is a lot happening. Two Israeli embassy staff members
are dead following a shooting outside of the Capitol Jewish
Museum in Washington, d C. Last night. Officials in DC
say a man was pacing the area shortly before the
shooting and waited for the group of people to leave.
After that shooting, Metropolitan Police Department Chief Pamela Smith said
that the suspect entered the museum and was detained by security.
(05:41):
As if airports are not currently chaotic enough, a new
trend seems to be happening around the country. Airports are
reporting seeing more and more drivers somehow ending up on runways.
Recent incidents have been holding on her car in the
middle of the run I don't know.
Speaker 6 (05:56):
I mean, it looks like a big highway. It looks
like a big road.
Speaker 8 (06:00):
Okay, sure, but I feel like once you see the
planes maybe, I mean.
Speaker 7 (06:06):
I don't know, I would get scared.
Speaker 10 (06:07):
I don't know about you.
Speaker 8 (06:08):
The most recent incidents have been reported in Buffalo and Chicago.
The incident in Buffalo saw man intentionally drive through a
fence and end up in the grass near one of
the runways. In Chicago, a door dash delivery driver drove
miles through a secured and restricted area. An investigator with
the National Transportation Safety Board says a lot of very
bad things can happen in incidents such as those reports.
Speaker 7 (06:30):
Why if someone on the plane ordered a pizza.
Speaker 6 (06:32):
Yeah it was United Airlines flight to a right, right,
they ordered a pizza exactly.
Speaker 8 (06:38):
No longer you make them sit there, it could happen.
Get those planes out on time, and maybe this will
fix everything. And finally, Orlando's first major theme park development

Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.
Speaker 6 (07:57):
Here in New York City, gearing up four. Of course,
Memorial Day weekend, very very important weekend, UH here and
everywhere else. One of the things going on here though,
is it's Fleet Week. Fleet Week kicked off yesterday with
the parade of ships. It was amazing and for the
second year in a row, his second appearance on our show,
the Commander of the United States Fleet Forces, Admiral Daryl Coddle,
(08:19):
is coming in.
Speaker 5 (08:20):
Cool.
Speaker 6 (08:20):
I mean, yeah, we've got royalty rolling through, rolling through
the iHeart Building today and so we're gonna have him
on and talk to him and about everything the Memorial
Day weekend related and Fleet Week related and what's it
like being an admiral? Can you imagine? I know, it's
so cool and we're so honored to have him and
all of his I don't want to say posse, squad,
(08:45):
A squad, I mean admiral. I don't think an admiral
you know what. I think an admiral does travel with
a posse. Yeah, it's it's it's a very decorated posse.
But we're excited to have admiral here coming coming in
just a few minutes.
Speaker 9 (08:58):
Yeah, what's up, Nate. They're all wearing their what are
those dress whites? Is that what you call it?
Speaker 5 (09:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (09:02):
How do you keep that clean? In a rainy New
York City? Day, like on a rainy New York City day?
Speaker 8 (09:08):
Yeah, has my suit?
Speaker 5 (09:10):
There's only one answer, on.
Speaker 6 (09:12):
A rainy day or on a rainy day or not
rainy day, I mean, I mean tide stick. Tide stick.
Speaker 8 (09:18):
Them with them?
Speaker 3 (09:19):
Probably?
Speaker 6 (09:20):
Yeah, right, let's find out one of them has to
at least carry like a box of you know, things
to keep them clean. The tide stick must be included. Well,
we'll figure this out anyway. Admiral Darryl Caddle will be
on with us UH to talk about all of the
above in about forty five minutes, maybe maybe less. Let's
get into the horse coups producer Sam, who do you
wish to do that?
Speaker 13 (09:37):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (09:38):
By the way, we have another member of royalty on today.
Dotty Parton is gonna be on. I know, pretty cool. Okay, now, yes,
who are you doing your horse cups with?
Speaker 8 (09:50):
You already know it's Food News Thursday.
Speaker 6 (09:52):
Food News Thursday. That means that the King of Food
News another member of royalty. Froggy. All right, let's go.
What do you got going on?
Speaker 14 (10:00):
If you if it is your birthday, you're celebrating with
Naomi Campbell and Novak Djokovic, a tennis player Capricorn. The
version of you from yesterday doesn't define you today. Embrace
each opportunity.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Your day's an eight Aquarius.
Speaker 15 (10:12):
Invest in yourself with intention. Don't spend two frivolously.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Your day's a nine Pisce's.
Speaker 14 (10:17):
Growth often requires discomfort, but make sure it's the right
kind of discomfort.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
Your day's of five hey Aris.
Speaker 15 (10:22):
You might not control every situation, but you can take
a breath and choose your response.
Speaker 6 (10:27):
Your day to six Taurus.
Speaker 14 (10:28):
The path to self discovery is not about finding yourself,
but allowing yourself to be exactly whom you are.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Your day's nine hey Gemini.
Speaker 15 (10:35):
Your growth you grow stronger every time you choose peace
over reaction.
Speaker 8 (10:40):
The ripples will echo out.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
Your day's a six Cancer. You are too used to
people pleasing. Make sure you're making yourself happy today above
anyone else. Your day it's a ten Leo.
Speaker 15 (10:50):
Choose progress over pressure. The journey is more important than
how quickly you arrive there.
Speaker 14 (10:54):
Your days' is seven Virgo. Instead of waiting for the
world to be kind, be the reason it is. Your
actions I go further than you know. Your day's a
five Libra.
Speaker 15 (11:02):
A mindful moment can shift your entire day. Just because
it started out rough does not mean it's gonna end
that way. Your day's an eight, Scorpio.
Speaker 14 (11:09):
Let go of what weighs you down so you can
carry what will help guide you Your days an eight.
Speaker 15 (11:13):
And finally, Sagittarius, you do not have to have it
all figured out to move forward.
Speaker 8 (11:17):
Clarity also often follows action.
Speaker 15 (11:20):
Your day's seven and those are Thursday morning horoscopes.
Speaker 6 (11:22):
Excellent, Danielle, your first of the day. What do you
have coming up?
Speaker 7 (11:25):
Viza did something really nice to help a child? And
Travis and Taylor are they living together?
Speaker 8 (11:32):
Oscillatious?
Speaker 7 (11:33):
It made it sound, didn't I.
Speaker 6 (11:36):
Did you see the photos of Travis. He was in
some NFL training yesterday.
Speaker 7 (11:41):
Harry back.
Speaker 6 (11:42):
Yeah, he's kind of it's but it's not just a
hairy back. It's like splotches of hair. Yeah, it's not evenly,
it's not evenly growing like a like a full back
of hair. It's you know, but anyway, he looked kind
of sweaty and dirty, and I wonder I'm wondering if
Taylor has ever like been with him when he's stinky,
(12:02):
I mean, like after a practice or something like that.
Are these the things that old gay men think of.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
All the game.
Speaker 8 (12:09):
I just assume, like, yeah, of course, if you're with
an athlete, that.
Speaker 6 (12:12):
Happens, right and blush. If you have a harry back,
you know, part of being in a relationship with someone
as they are, You know, your partner's there to help
you groom that and to shave shave that back.
Speaker 8 (12:22):
Do you think she's a designated backshaver?
Speaker 7 (12:24):
I don't think Taylor does that.
Speaker 6 (12:26):
Of course she does. You know, we got to stop
putting her on this level where she's not human. Surely
she she likes to cook in the kitchen. Yeah, I
was wondering the water in the other day when I
was feeding the dishwasher. Yeah, like, is Tatum Swift putting
dishes in a dishwasher right now? Do they do their
own laundry? I would like to think they do.
Speaker 8 (12:44):
I think they do.
Speaker 6 (12:46):
Of course they do.
Speaker 8 (12:46):
She strikes me as someone who would love to pop
as it on someone's back.
Speaker 7 (12:50):
Next time we talked to her, we're gonna ask her
do you shaved us?
Speaker 6 (12:54):
Do they or if somebody eats?
Speaker 3 (12:56):
And I always wonder if they do the things that
we do.
Speaker 6 (12:58):
Of course they do. They go to the restaurants, we
go to We know that, so surely they you know,
if you know, I'll tell you what if Admiral and
Daryl Caddle coming in and his white needs some tight stick,
I bet Tater Swift has one down the street. We
keep thinking of these people as not people, but they
that's that's really our fault, not theirs, to be honest.
Speaker 7 (13:18):
They poop just like we poop.
Speaker 6 (13:20):
Well, I don't know about that. No, I'm done.
Speaker 11 (13:24):
Elster ran in the morning show, Elvis d Ran in
the morning show.
Speaker 6 (13:30):
Watching the next game last night period. I'll stop right there, hmm,
watching the next game last night. But the good news
is Daniel's Yankees one, so we got that going.
Speaker 7 (13:43):
For that was awesome. Right in the ninth inning the
Martian hit one out, bye bye, and we won. It
was great there. Well, no, that Jason de Minguez, he's
the Martian, damn it. Okay, they call h called them
the Martian. Why I don't even know why that's his nickname?
Speaker 8 (13:58):
You got a big head?
Speaker 6 (13:59):
No, okay, all right, Well why don't you find it?
Why they call him the Marsian? So I bet someone
will text.
Speaker 7 (14:07):
Us, Yeah, someone will, Texas. Why do we call him
the Marsian.
Speaker 6 (14:10):
Okay, Danielle, since you're here, we might as well put
you to work, all right, what do you got going on?
Speaker 5 (14:15):
This?
Speaker 10 (14:16):
All right?
Speaker 8 (14:16):
So let's start with the Diddy trial.
Speaker 7 (14:18):
Just so you know, kid Cuddy will be taking the
stand today. They pushed that off until today. I told
you yesterday that Diddy has said to have reacted violently
out of jealousy of his relationship with Cassie, burning his car,
blowing up his car, a big mess. So he will
be on the stand today. So we always talk about
the novelty popcorn bucket because this is like the thing
(14:39):
a lot of people. You know, you go to Disney,
you go to Universal, you get the popcorn bucket. It's
you know whatever. Now the movie theaters are doing it.
I know I have the one from Wicked. So the
F one Racing Movie is a really cool racing helmet
filled with popcorn that will be available for a limited time.
You know, the movie F one is hitting theaters on
June twenty seventh, and honestly, it's a really cool popcorn bucket.
(15:02):
Especially if you're a racing fan, you may want to
get your hands on this one. The live action Lilo
and Stitch movie is coming out this weekend and it
is going to be insane. It is currently projected too
open too over one hundred and fifty million dollars in
North America alone. That's crazy. So of course, what does
that mean. Why don't we already think about sequels? Because
(15:23):
you know, why not? And all of the merch for
for Leilo and Stitch, it's it's out of control right now.
It's everywhere, and they've got like, it's like millions of
dollars in merch that they've been selling already in the
movie is not even out, So that'll be cool this weekend.
Sizza did something really nice for a kid. She actually
stopped a kid from doing whippets. All it took was
(15:45):
her offering a photo or a video in exchange for
them to put it down. So this is what happened.
She was, I think driving she was at a drive
through it in and out Burger, and she saw a
kid doing it, and she talked to them and she said, look,
put it down and I'll give you a picture with me.
And she did, and he put it down. She goes, look,
I mean he may pick it up again, obviously, but
(16:07):
the fact that she got to put it down in
the first place, maybe put some positivity in its head,
in his head.
Speaker 8 (16:12):
Who knows, no, just how do we find this out?
Speaker 7 (16:14):
I guess she must have I don't know. She must
have talked about it, have said something. She's proud of herself.
Speaker 6 (16:20):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (16:21):
Tell As Swift and Travis Kelsey are they living together
or people think so because of what he said in
the New Heights podcast. He was talking about his Florida rental,
and he kept saying, we've got chimneys, we've got furniture,
and right away everybody's like, we weave that's a clue.
But we're living arrangement.
Speaker 5 (16:38):
I hate to say this.
Speaker 7 (16:38):
I say we even if I'm talking about myself.
Speaker 8 (16:41):
So there's so many people living in my head. It
is always a week.
Speaker 16 (16:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (16:46):
Yeah, So it's not official, but we're thinking maybe they're
living to it. I don't know, so we have the exactly.
Have you ever wondered why Miley Cyrus's voice sounds raspy
the way that it sounds. I know you're thinking vocal
abuse and smoke, maybe acid reflux. Yes, it could be
those things, but she actually has something. I'm gonna pronounce
(17:07):
it wrong. I'm sure, it's called rhyanky's and dema or something.
It's the swelling of.
Speaker 8 (17:13):
The vocal cord.
Speaker 6 (17:14):
Nailed it.
Speaker 7 (17:15):
Yeah, it actually can be caused by vocal abuse. But
she has a huge poll up on her vocal cords
and she doesn't want to take it off because she's
afraid that she won't sound like herself.
Speaker 6 (17:26):
Anymore, exactly I mean. And so even though some may
feel that sort of a deformity in her right sound,
that's her, that's her.
Speaker 10 (17:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (17:34):
And she also says that it's not always easy to
sing with it, and it makes it difficult to perform
because she said it's like running a marathon with ankle
weights on having this, but she's not gonna get rid
of it. Her edema is that you say it, ranky's
edemak could be sounds good? Is that what you think?
Speaker 17 (17:52):
It is?
Speaker 7 (17:53):
All right? And you guys, remember when Jeremy Renner had
his snowplow accident back in twenty twenty three. He says
that he does for a few minutes and at the
time he didn't want to come back. He said it
was the most exhilarating piece you could ever feel. You
don't see anything, but what's in your mind's eye. He said,
it's just crazy. It's magical. And he said, now he
(18:14):
doesn't invest in stocks and bonds, he doesn't invest in crypto,
in bitcoin. He invests in love, in his shared relationships,
his experiences, he says, because that is the only thing
that you can.
Speaker 6 (18:26):
Take with you. So, how did you describe death?
Speaker 12 (18:28):
Again?
Speaker 7 (18:29):
He said, it was exhilarating and magical, like you're the
atoms of who you are, the DNA, your spirit. It's
the highest adrenaline rush.
Speaker 6 (18:37):
You know what, if you're going to feel that today,
head on down to Day one of Epic Universe Universal that.
Speaker 5 (18:42):
Would be lovely.
Speaker 7 (18:44):
Fourth season for Man of Transplant tonight, Farmer Wants a
Wife that's on as well, a four part documentary about
the legendary racing career of Dale Earnhardt that is on Amazon,
and the series premiere of Sirens over on Netflix. And
that's My Danielle Report.
Speaker 6 (18:58):
Our friend Tommy Dadario hosts. I've never said this before.
It's a podcast where he interviews our favorite actress and artists.
Tommy Who's on the podcast this week?
Speaker 17 (19:07):
Hey, Elvis Academy Award winning actress Davine Joy Randolph joins
my show. Today we chat about her new movie Shadow

and of her and Selena Gomez pursed out into song
on set of Only Murders in the Building.

Speaker 17 (19:49):
Everybody, Yo, love it.
Speaker 5 (19:53):
Mister ran in the Morning show, we.
Speaker 6 (19:55):
Are so excited for many reasons. One of them said
the number one reason excited today it's the return appearance,
his second appearance with us. It's so great to have
him in the room once again. Admiral Darryl Coddle is
here for Fleet Week.
Speaker 4 (20:09):
We welcome you, Admiral Coddle. Thank you for coming in
to see us today, Elvis. It's a pleasure, sir. Thank
you for inviting me back Fleet Week New York. Yeah,
I know there are so many Fleet weeks going on
in our country? Are they all happening this week?
Speaker 6 (20:23):
Is this the week?
Speaker 4 (20:24):
No, it's not this week. They're all throughout the year.
This is we stayed, you know, different times.
Speaker 7 (20:30):
You get to go to all of them.
Speaker 4 (20:31):
I get to go to a lot of them.
Speaker 7 (20:33):
Wow, get to you or have to.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
But I only pick the ones that are the good ones.
Speaker 6 (20:36):
Yes, okay, I can't wait. Maybe a little later in
this this conversation, we'll hear which ones are the bad ones.
Now if I'm I don't know, if I'm great. Was
San Diego the first site for the first Fleet Week
celebration in our country?
Speaker 4 (20:52):
I'm getting a nod that says you're correct, sir, Yes, wow, okay, okay,
I'm rarely correct, rarely correct. Well, Daryl Colla here of
course with now everyone who's here with you today, these
incredible people who have traveled all the way to our
studios at this this this hour, which this is under
an unusual hour for you to be up.
Speaker 6 (21:11):
I'm sure. Uh will you call them your command? What
is their official because we were saying that they're your posse,
you know, it's like they're your peeps.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
Well, well, I think that's a better term I wouldn't.
Now that you've said posse, I may start using that,
but yeah, they are my they are my people, that
are my front office supports staff, you know, for star admirals,
we uh we we we take a lot of we
require a lot of care and nurturing and it uh
exceeds the capacity of my darling wife, Donna.
Speaker 6 (21:39):
So we love Donna. Donna's back to New York for
her second appearance since with our show, and uh, it's it.
I'm sure. Do you do you really? Do you do
a lot of events with your wife at your side?
Speaker 4 (21:53):
Yes? I do, actually not as many as i'd like to,
but but the uh, yes, she is a great Navy
spouse and we do a lot of things together. And
when you know, you join the Navy and you're married,
I don't know, the spouse always recognizes that there's going
to be a significant load on he or she as
(22:13):
as you go through this incredible career, as the Navy
puts on them. Well, let's talk about that, admiral.
Speaker 6 (22:18):
We have so many listeners who are serving our country
by sheer evidence because they're married to someone who's serving
our country. They're traveling around to different different cities, not
only in America but around the world to serve with them.
What's it like being a military spouse. What is part
(22:39):
of that job that we probably need to know that
we don't We don't know.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
Well, I think the you know, the biggest part is,
you know, there's an old saying those who wait serve
to and that's the thing you will hear in speeches
that I give. You know, we deploy, we're gone, somebody's
you know, taking the kids to school, you know, maintaining
the home, keeping the cars maintained, mowing the grass, all
that stuff that you got to do while you know,
(23:04):
the military member is defending our nation abroad. So that
is a significant undertaking, especially when you got young kids.
Don and I have five grandchildren, two service members. I
have a Marine son in law aviation maintenance officer and
a fire control AEGIS Combat System petty officer on board
(23:27):
a ship down in Mayport with two grandchildren. He's currently underway.
So our daughter there is, you know, got a three
month old and a six year old that's doing all
that by herself. So it's just demanding on spouses.
Speaker 7 (23:40):
Wait, so does Donna know how to change the fire alarm?
Because I had to do that yesterday in my house
because my husband's gone for like two days. So that
was a lot for me yesterday. Does she know how
to do things like that?
Speaker 4 (23:50):
What she does with that is she just removes the
battery so it stops beeping.
Speaker 6 (23:55):
Really, it seems to be like the universal solution. I
don't know. You just make it stop, make it stop,
make it go away. Who needs a battery and a
fire fire detective smoke detector? Just if you just turn
it off, it won't We'll bother you. So I'm gonna
set the stage for what happened yesterday here in New
York City. It happens every year for Fleet Week. If
(24:16):
you got up early enough yesterday, you got a great
spot on the Hudson River. This is, without doubt the
most patriotic spectacle of the year here in New York City.
The fotella included, let me see two US Navy ships,
two US Coast Guard cutters, five Naval Academy Yard patrol boats.
Then we have visiting ships this year from Canada and Germany.
(24:39):
All the way from way down Battery Park up to
the George Washington Bridge. You got to see and have
a front row seat from seven forty five till eleven o'clock.
It was just an amazing spectacle, as it is every year.
What's it like for you. I'm sure you get front
row seats for this.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
I do.
Speaker 4 (24:53):
I get a front row seat there. It's intrepid. It
was wonderful. I got to speak to the group of
the Secretary of the Navy, John thieland was with me,
and we spent all day with him yesterday at various events.
You know, to see our large deck, amphibious ships come
in and more of there Peer eighty six, with the
man we call it manning the rails, with all the
sailors and marines and their dress uniforms. It's just incredible.
(25:17):
I mean, New York is like no other fleet week
I mentioned and when we started, just the way we
get embraced and the turnout there for us, for them
all appreciating what these warriors, these sailors and marines do
every day. It's so reassuring for what they do and
we're so appreciative of it.
Speaker 6 (25:35):
Very nice.
Speaker 17 (25:35):
I know.
Speaker 6 (25:36):
Gandhi is bulging with questions. She was asking me. She's
I've got to ask the Admial so many things. She
had a list. Where do you want to start?
Speaker 5 (25:43):
Where do I start?
Speaker 8 (25:44):
Okay, well, I would like to say I love you
guys all because my boyfriend is a Navy vet. Also,
I know you're not veterans, but he is one. So
he's super excited about Fleetweek. He's coming to town for
this because he wants to see all the ships and
watch what goes on. But I have a question about
what you guys are and are not allowed to do
when you're in your military uniforms. And I know we
kind of asked you this before, but if people want
to buy you shots, they want to buy you drinks,
(26:05):
they want to give you kisses, how does that work?
Speaker 4 (26:08):
Yes? Yes, and yes it's The formula is so incredibly simple. Okay, yeah,
that's yeah. It's as long as it's not i'll say inappropriate,
and that's a word that's you know, you can drive
a truck through Uh, you can do all those things,
and I recommend you do. It's it's the way you
really think. Tell the sailors and marines that are out there,
(26:31):
get to know them, talk with them and do the
things you said, and that's when they feel appreciate for
what they do.
Speaker 7 (26:36):
For sure, Donna, are you cool with people?
Speaker 8 (26:38):
Kissing him.
Speaker 5 (26:43):
Is important?
Speaker 8 (26:44):
We'll go with that, and then with submarines, right, yes,
So last year, maybe a little bit before last year,
there was the submersible that went down, the recreational submersible.
What are your thoughts on these things?
Speaker 4 (26:57):
You know, it's unfortunate loss of life on something like that.
It's it's a terrible way to die. You know, you're
you're gonna be in a vessel. You know that you're
going down. There's not much you can do about it.
We've lost, you know, two nuclear powered submarines like that
in our history, early on, very early in our career,
and we've learned from that, uh, the reasons that those
things happen, but it's it's a horrible thing, you know.
(27:20):
That's why the rigor and standards and the technical expertise
and the systems and the redundancy, all those things have
to marry up to make sure we have incredibly safe operations.
And that's why we're we train constantly to make sure
things like that don't happen to our ships.
Speaker 8 (27:35):
Do you guys, when you see stuff like that happening,
step in and say, hey, that is a terrible idea,
do not do this.
Speaker 4 (27:40):
Oh yeah, we do work with the all organizations, including
ones that have that are not under the military, to
learn those lessons so we can apply them. Yeah. Absolutely.
Speaker 6 (27:50):
If you're just turning us on, this is Admiral Darryl Coddle.
He is here, of course for a fleet week and
of course we also have a very very important something
going on this weekend. It is Memorial Day weekend. And
we even though a lot of us have parents who
have served in the different different phases of military, different
(28:11):
but they lived to see the end of it and
to live full lives. So many people did not do that.
Of course, Memorial Day the true meaning for you, what
is that?
Speaker 4 (28:22):
Oh my gosh, that's it's it's such an overwhelming question.
It is remembering them, their legacy. We never want them
to be forgotten. They paved the way for the freedoms
we have today. And there's sacrifices, the ultimate sacrifices are
something we need to reflect on that day. I will
speak at the Intrepid on Monday on Memorial Day, and
(28:44):
my comments will will highlight the fact that these are
the people that basically allow us to be the America
that we are and there'll be gold Star families in
the audience, and it's a chance for me to look
at them in the eye and tell them we do
remember their sacrifice. These are families that you know, have
an empty chair in their in their kitchen, you know again,
(29:04):
a broken heart and and and they need to have
the reassurance that the country has not forgotten that.
Speaker 6 (29:10):
So it's a day to do then reflect on that. Elvis,
thank you for answering to that. I appreciate it very much.
So let's talk about the Intrepid. You know, we've been
on the Intrepid several times. We've done our show there
several times as well. I find it probably the most
fascinating and I'm gonna call it museum in New York City.
There's nothing like it I've ever seen anywhere else in
(29:31):
the world. The Intrepid is such an incredible collection of well,
god gosh, a million different things. But of course, when
you get to see these planes, you get to see
the exhibits, the way they tell the stories behind all
of this gear and all these people who have served
on these massive ships around the world. It is truly
(29:51):
a remarkable site to see. What are your thoughts on
the Intrepid.
Speaker 4 (29:55):
Music in New York City. I'm actually glad you highlighted that.
I think I agree with you. It is an extraordinary experience.
We were there yesterday and walking through the hangar deck,
I'm going to say there are probably three or four
hundred kids there crawling on the exhibits like they're supposed to,
you know, laying in the racks that were sailors sleep,
you know, pretending like they're on the bridge, looking through
(30:17):
all the different components there in systems, and it's very tactile,
and that's how they learned about what we do in
the Navy. And I think the Intrepid leadership team has
done a fantastic job maintaining that ship, keeping it the
museum and the experience that allows people to come on
board and see that history. And it scales from things
(30:38):
that you know, Navy of old, essentially at the start
of when we had aircraft carriers like the Intrepid and
one of the older ones, all the way to things
we have today which are very new, and so it
is a very special place. We'll be there tonight for
a gala event there were recognizing the Secretary of the
Navy and they'll strip that place down that hangar deck
and it'll be you know, over a thousand people there, uh,
(31:00):
that have come to do that celebration in that in
that hangar deck. So it's it's it's a full spectrum
of ship that's capable of a lot of different things.
Speaker 7 (31:08):
You know what I actually did on the Intrepid. They
had a zombie run on the This is how diverse
this ship is. They actually had a zombie run. They
set it up like the Walking Dead, and we came
and there were zombies in all of the different you
know stuff. Yeah, they chased us.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
Well, hopefully it's the end of the cocktail hour tonight,
it won't be the zombie of the Walking Dead.
Speaker 8 (31:30):
Hopefully will never know.
Speaker 6 (31:32):
Maybe or maybe tomorrow morning if they go too late.
Speaker 12 (31:35):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (31:36):
Fascinating talking about let's say the Intrepid, let's talk about
in the submarine that you you have served on versus
a commercial cruise ship. I mean, I'm sure a lot
of people who visiting or who visiting New York have
been on one of our ships at Norwegian Cruise Line
and they go, this is nothing nothing like that. They
didn't live like we do on these Have you ever
(31:58):
been on a cruise, which you ever want? Would you never?
Would you ever want to on a cruise?
Speaker 4 (32:02):
I get this question a lot, and Donna can attest
that I've always thought like, why would I want to
go do that?
Speaker 5 (32:08):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (32:09):
And then I'll be honest. Last year we went to
Fleetweek Miami, one of the good ones, and uh, and
so I'm down there first ever, in fact, first time
we'd held it there, and the Norwegian Cruise Line hosted
us and allowed us to use their slips there for
our ships. We had three ships, more than places at
the Norwegian Cruise Line. The president of Norwegian Cruise Line
(32:32):
hosted my team, you know, my peeps here and the others.
And uh, I got on board that thing. I could
have not been more wrong. I would live on that
thing if I could. These things are extraordinary. I mean,
I just I had no idea. Just to give you
a sense and scale of that, it can. The one
we were on can hold seventy five hundred passengers and
(32:54):
below decks the folks you don't see running the injin
room and meal service is another twenty five hundred. So
that ship gets under way, it can be with ten
thousand people. And we've pat ourself on the back when
an aircraft carrier has five thousand. So these this cruise
Line serious business, Elvis, and they are incredible. But like
you started out, it's nothing like a submarine.
Speaker 6 (33:11):
Nothing. Yeah, I can't imagine being out in a Navy
ship and having you know, well, let's see a Broadway
show or a casino.
Speaker 4 (33:22):
You know there's no casino, No, no, maybe some friendly
gambling on the mess DECKX certainly not.
Speaker 6 (33:30):
You know, yeah, when you go to Norwegian Cruise Line ship,
they don't call dinner mess. They really don't know how
fascinating you know, being a I'm gonna say the word soldier.
Is that appropriate? Is it appropriate to say you're a soldier?
Officially you are? What if you are called a soldier?
Speaker 4 (33:47):
Well yeah, we typically say a soldier is somebody that's
a ground force and we're sailors, marine and airmen and
guardsmen and you know, we all have terms. But colloquially,
I think it's fine to call us all soldiers. You know,
we are we're committed to the armed forces.
Speaker 6 (34:04):
So if anyone and everyone stuck in traffic driving to work,
listening to you, Admiral Coddle, we're all civilians as you,
I guess, call us. How could we live our lives
more parallel to the life of someone serving in the
military that discipline and what good would it do for
us if we studied the soldier, we studied the sailors
(34:27):
and apply that to our lives every day. How would
that change this country?
Speaker 13 (34:31):
Well?
Speaker 4 (34:31):
I think you know, you can get wrapped down the
line that it's about all the you know, the uniformed
part of it, all the discipline, the standards and repetitiveness,
the chain of command and all that. I wouldn't focus
on that to your question. What I would focus on
is whatever you decide to do in life, look at
it as a call to that service. You know, if
you're a radio host, this is what you do and
(34:53):
approach that as you know, from a perspective of service
and what you provide the greater community. And if you
do that, and the passion and the energy and enthusiasm
and the stamina all that requires, I think will come
naturally from that. So look at it as a call
to service. I love that call to service. We actually
(35:14):
talk about that a lot here. It's so funny how
you're called to service and our call to service. Different
calls to different services in away, but you can parallel them.
You can enter into the same lane when it comes
to helping others, pointing out things in life that are
positive and put people on the right track. And we
try to do that every day in one way or another.
Speaker 6 (35:33):
I want to open it up. We got we have
an admiral here in our room. This is an opportunity
to ask whatever you want. Let's get crazy. Which when
I think crazy, I think Gandhi first.
Speaker 8 (35:43):
Okay, So, how long out of the year do you
usually spend all the water?
Speaker 4 (35:48):
Well, you know, for me, not a lot. Now, you know,
I'm kind of aged out there, But the typical sailor
will spend about fifty percent of their time underway, okay,
So we call it our operational ten and we have
some rules that kind of govern that. So over a
three year period, about fifty percent of import in that sea. Okay,
So it's significant. So a person like me of a
(36:11):
career like this, I've spent about thirteen years on sea duty,
and so think a half of that, so call it
six and a half years underwater.
Speaker 8 (36:19):
So six and a half years underwater. But oh my gosh,
everyone else in here, I'm sure you guys have been
on ships on the water as well. Yes, what's the
UFO situation?
Speaker 1 (36:27):
Right?
Speaker 6 (36:28):
Oh yeah, I'm ready, let's go now, don't hold back.
Speaker 8 (36:34):
That's always fun them.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
Yeah, well, yeah, we do. Our pilots tend to see them.
I don't know what that says, but uh uh, you know,
it's a it's a tough question. I personally don't know,
but uh, I would tell you I don't believe it's
from another planet. I think the probability of that is
like ten to the minus ninth or something. Oh okay,
So I don't think it's that uh yeah, yeah, but
(36:58):
so I typically think those are probably like unmanned aerial
vehicles of some type. That would be my belief.
Speaker 8 (37:05):
Okay. And then this drone situation in New Jersey. I'm
sure you've heard all of that. Yes, what are we thinking?
Speaker 4 (37:11):
That was? Well, you know, it's interesting. One of the jobs,
one of my hats that I wear is I'm the
Force Protection lead for the Navy across the United States,
working for Northern Command, so our commander that protects the
you know, North America, and so that falls under my job.
Jar if you will, we U this this is a
(37:32):
serious threat and so we you know we are right now.
That's the whole point of the Golden Dome is not
only to you know, try to get a handle on
incoming ballistic missiles and protect our country, but even more
common is just protect our bases and critical infrastructure from
things like UAVs and drawings and Nation States sponsored things
(37:53):
all the way to hobbyists, all of these things. We
need a better way to see them and a better
way to take them out with out damaging you know,
other things in the process or hurting people. So it's
it's a tough problem because you try to just knock
it down, then it falls somewhere and you can't have
that happening. So it's the thing we focus on and
work on quite a bit. Actually, yeah, security, it's all
(38:14):
about security. And look, I don't like being naked in
my pool and seems a drone looking at me. No,
that's right, cause I want to make sure everyone else
is secure from seeing that video because that would not
be fair. Well, in all fairness, we spent yesterday with
the New York Police Department and for about a couple hours,
and they run a drone division and they've got a
(38:36):
pretty incredible capability there with a twenty four to seven
watch that's going on where they respond in the city
with drones and and so that's a good use of
it when it's being used like that, and so we
just have to look out for the bad uses of them.
Speaker 7 (38:53):
What up, Danielle, I just want to know, do you
have a magic solution to keep your whites looking white?
Speaker 5 (38:59):
Well?
Speaker 4 (38:59):
Again, Uh, there's a person in the room here, he's
standing over there. He is a person that is solely
responsible for keeping the admirals white white.
Speaker 10 (39:08):
Wow.
Speaker 7 (39:08):
I think we talked to him last time and he
gave it.
Speaker 17 (39:10):
What was it?
Speaker 7 (39:11):
There something a secret that you told us. I can't remember.
Speaker 16 (39:25):
It.
Speaker 4 (39:27):
I would see you with me, especially with the rating
like this. It takes a tight bucket.
Speaker 2 (39:31):
Yeah right, look at that there.
Speaker 8 (39:34):
I have another one. So Tom Cruise is apparently coming
out with Mission Impossible three. Yes, I'm sorry, Top Gun three.
Speaker 4 (39:43):
Yeah, Top Gun three.
Speaker 8 (39:44):
If they come to you, guys, when do you consult
and too? Are any of you allowed to be in
it if they ask you?
Speaker 4 (39:48):
Oh, one hundred percent. I mean we've got folks that
have you know, actually met Tom on various movies like
Mission Impossible. Uh, Tom Cruise does a great job coordinating
with the knee with his movies, and some people try
to do movies and they don't coordinate well, and then
the Navy can't really you know, get behind them. Tom
Cruise movies, we do. He does a great job of that,
(40:10):
and he is a great advocate of the Navy and
and so anyway, I just give him a shout out
for that. And so, yeah, we get to participate. He
brings us in. He's you know, he gets out underway
on our ships to do all that filming and is
a real friend of the Navy.
Speaker 7 (40:24):
Do you get a sneak peek at the movie before
it comes out?
Speaker 4 (40:26):
We absolutely do.
Speaker 6 (40:28):
Yeah, we do.
Speaker 4 (40:29):
All, Yeah, we do.
Speaker 6 (40:31):
I'm scary. Had a question, what's up? Scary?
Speaker 15 (40:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (40:33):
Well, first of all, thank you all for your services.
My dad served in Vietnam in the Navy, so I
can relate a little bit. Well he can relate, but
he's listening right now. I just want to know, because
this going into this weekend, obviously a lot of people,
like you know, they're grilling, the traveling, they're vacationing whatever,
going to the beach.
Speaker 6 (40:48):
But what is the one thing they can do to.
Speaker 12 (40:50):
Honor you and everyone else for Memorial Day. One thing
you could think of, what can we all do?
Speaker 5 (40:57):
Well?
Speaker 4 (40:57):
I think we I think just uh in your heart
some time to reflect, you know what it regardless if
you're at the beach or at a barbecue or whatever,
you know, take a moment on Monday to just think
about the you know, what all the service members have
done throughout our entire time. You know, the Navy's two
hundred and fifty years old this year. This is our
(41:17):
two and we're older than the country. And so in
October will be two fifty and the country will be
of course next July. And that's been a lot of
folks that have you know, perished the under the flag
of our country and the cloth of our nation. So
I think that it's worthy to take a few minutes
and at some point and just you know, Paul's bow
(41:40):
your head perhaps and just reflect and thank God that
we have the country we have and the service members
we have and what they did with the ultimate sacrifice.
Speaker 6 (41:51):
Wow. Wow, Admiral Caddel, it's been such an honor to
have you and your posse posse here with us again
this year and your wife. I hope that even though
it's a little rainy today and tomorrow. I hope you
guys find some fun, great things to do here in
New York City, because we do have a few things
going on here. It's one of those little towns that
(42:14):
is always busy, and I know you're gonna be very
very busy this this weekend, and rightfully so. But thank
you so much for coming in to see us. Thank
you so much, absolutely, thank you listening, and please do
as the Admiral has said this this is coming Monday.
(42:35):
For a second on your own, have a moment of
silence and think about what the day is all about.
We appreciate you very much. Admiral Coddle, everyone incredible.
Speaker 5 (42:44):
Elvis Duran who want to help us to when maybe
you'll calm down a little bit. And the Morning Show,
Elvis Duran and the Morning Show.
Speaker 6 (42:56):
Thank you again to Admiral Darryl Caddle. That was just
an amazmazing time we spent with him.
Speaker 7 (43:01):
You know what he just said before we left here.
It is why there was so funny. He's like last
year you said when it rained here it was a
little bit of gravy out there. You're right, there's a
little bit of gravy in New York City.
Speaker 6 (43:11):
Yeah, when it rains in New York City. Our city
makes its own gravy. That's just what it does. We're
kind of famous for that. What do you hey? Uh yeah, Nate,
what's so?
Speaker 9 (43:21):
Just chatting with him briefly, they offered, if we want
to do our show from an aircraft carrier.
Speaker 6 (43:27):
Stop more than welcome?
Speaker 16 (43:29):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (43:30):
Wow?
Speaker 6 (43:31):
Can you imagine? Yeah, the admiral, he's a fan of us.
So a race car? Da have a racecar track on
the roof?
Speaker 3 (43:38):
I don't think so.
Speaker 2 (43:40):
I think they're working on that Elvis.
Speaker 6 (43:41):
Are they doing the Beatles reunion? The show?
Speaker 4 (43:48):
All right?
Speaker 6 (43:48):
Well, we do a thousand dollars free on the front
top all the way just a few minutes right now
into the three things we need to know from Gandhi.
Let's get on with the day. Gandhi, what's going on
all right?
Speaker 8 (43:56):
China is warning the US to hit pause on President
Trump's ambitious new missile defense plan. Beijing says it's gravely
concerned about Trump's plan to build a one hundred and
seventy five billion dollar Golden Dome missile shield, which he
says will be ready in under three years, China argues
the system could increase the chances of turning outer space
into a battlefield. Trump says the US Space Force will
(44:17):
lead the effort, with Canada also joining the project. Just
two weeks before the Atlantic hurricane season starts on June first,
FEMA's acting had David Richardson, canceled the agencies twenty two
through twenty six strategic plan yesterday, it guided disaster response priorities.
In a short memo, he said the plan didn't fit
FEMA's mission. No new plans are in place yet, worrying
(44:39):
some employees who say it's likely working without a clear guide.
This comes after FEMA lost a third of its staff
and its previous leader was fired for disagreeing with plans
to strength the agency. An internal review warned FEMA isn't
ready for the season, but the Department of Homeland Security
insists it is prepared. A new twenty six through twenty
thirty plan is cordly being worked on for the summertime.
(45:03):
And what else do you guys want to talk about?
The cars on the airport terminal? Yes, yes, okay, yeah,
it's happening now. Apparently this is the range. It is strange,
A lot of airports are reporting seeing more and more
drivers actually ending up on the runways. Some incidents have
been reported recently in Buffalo and in Chicago. The incident
in Buffalo had a man intentionally drive through a fence
(45:25):
and end up in the grass near a runway. In Chicago,
apparently a door dash delivery driver got a little confused
and drove miles through a secured and restricted area. Of course,
all these incidents are being investigated, and the National Transportation
Safety Board says, you have to be really careful. Bad
things can happen when there are cars on the runway.
Oh really, yeah, no, terrible, terrible things can happen if
(45:48):
you happen to find yourself in this predicament.
Speaker 5 (45:50):
Get out a SAP.
Speaker 8 (45:51):
I don't even know how you get there, but just
don't do it. And those are your three things.
Speaker 5 (45:55):

I'm telling you, right now now what they've done. Okay,
I'm sorry. Hi, Yeah, I know. My head's into clouds
when I stand. They have come up with this limited
edition flavor. It's Girl Scout thin Mint's Whipped Cream, of course,
inspired by the iconic thin Min's cookie that we love,
that signature chocolate de minty flavor. That love them. Imagine
(47:05):
squirt that on top of your coffee. Like, I guess
squirt is not the proper word. It would be like, uh,
spray spray e sponge.
Speaker 4 (47:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (47:14):
Well, look it's made with premium ingredients. It's a smooth,
delicious taste. All I know is it tastes good. I
don't care what you call it. It's great for hot chocolate,
for desserts, maybe just sneak a spoonful right from the can,
like I did several times last night when I needed
a sweet treat, or put it on your coffee. It's
that thin mince cookie flavor that we've grown up loving
(47:36):
and now it's right there, ready for you to doll
up on whatever you want to doll up it on. Again.
It's the Girl Scout Thin Mints whipped Cream. You gotta
find it. Don't go from nozzle to mouth because you
want to make sure you keep that clean. You know
what I'm saying. Listen, anyone to put alone? So I'm
(47:57):
okay because my can is my can.
Speaker 7 (48:00):
That sounds good.
Speaker 6 (48:00):
Thanks for sharing that.
Speaker 8 (48:02):
Will not use it as scary.
Speaker 6 (48:03):
No, I'm not going. I'm not even going to his house. No,
I don't know what else he's doing in there by himself.
Again this flavor, it's a limited edition The Girl Scout
Thin Men's whip Cream. Fabulous. Pick it up today and

Speaker 5 (48:27):
Don't answer the phone. Elvis Duran, the Elvis Duran phone tap.
Speaker 6 (48:31):
All right, what do you have going on today?
Speaker 7 (48:33):
All right, Well, it comes to us from Jessica. She says,
my husband Andy is runting a house in Long Beach
Island for Memorial Day weekend. He found the house by himself,
and he's using it to give me a thirtieth birthday
party with a whole bunch of my friends. Now he's
taking this on. It's all his responsibility. He's planning the weekend.
So call him tell him that he's not getting the
house and he will be so upset. So that's what
(48:55):
I did.
Speaker 6 (48:56):
You're going to ruin it for everyone.
Speaker 5 (48:57):
Sorry.
Speaker 6 (48:58):
Today's phone tap is Andy.
Speaker 7 (49:00):
Yeah, Hi Andy, this is Erica.
Speaker 5 (49:02):
How are you good?
Speaker 16 (49:03):
How are you Erica good?
Speaker 7 (49:04):
I just actually spoke to your wife briefly and she
said I should call you on the cell phone.
Speaker 16 (49:08):
Yes, she just called. She said there was a problem
with this weekend. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (49:11):
Unfortunately, the reason I never sent the contract back to
you was because we actually got a better offer on
the house for the weekend, so we had to give
it to somebody else.
Speaker 16 (49:20):
This is this is look I've talked to you for
what months now? Yeah, and I was under the understanding
that we had the house. I've talked to you in
everything house. This is unacceptable, unacceptable. Eighteen people go into
this house.
Speaker 7 (49:35):
Well, we got eight thousand dollars for the place.
Speaker 16 (49:38):
Eight eight doesn't matter. You should have told me two
months ago. I have my real estate attorney call you that.
That's fine, sir.
Speaker 7 (49:45):
I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but Mario Lopez made us
a much better off.
Speaker 16 (49:48):
I don't really, I don't give it. That is unacceptable,
that's absolutely you. You cast my check. Well, you're gonna
have a lawsuit on your hands. You're gonna have a
lawsuit on your hands.
Speaker 7 (49:57):
You know you could come down on another weekend.
Speaker 16 (49:59):
No, No, this is my wife's thirtieth birthday. You knew this.
Speaker 7 (50:02):
Well, there are a lot of other weekends in the summer,
and I'm sure she wouldn't mind celebrating her birthday on And.
Speaker 16 (50:06):
I don't care. It's one more all day weekend. I
took time off of work. So did everybody else come
down to that house this weekend?
Speaker 7 (50:12):
Well, why can't you do it like in two weeks
from now? I have I have availability there.
Speaker 16 (50:16):
Everybody took off this day, my wife's but we have
chants two weeks from house. This is absolutely ridiculous. You
haven't even given me time to get something else. Now
now it's canceled the weekend. The whole weekend is wrecked
because of you.
Speaker 7 (50:27):
Yeah, but sir, maybe you should take your wife someplace else.
Part thirty. Maybe he doesn't want to really come down
to hell.
Speaker 10 (50:32):
She did.
Speaker 16 (50:33):
She's very sorry about it. She's never been down it.
Eighteen people going Andy listened to what what are you
gonna tell me that what?
Speaker 7 (50:40):
I have a three bedroom for you? You could figure
out it may to make it work.
Speaker 16 (50:43):
That's ridiculous. Listen to me though I don't want I
don't want a three bedroom.
Speaker 7 (50:46):
There's no way in hell, Andy, you want to put
up your entire wife's weekend.
Speaker 16 (50:51):
We can't do a three bedroom. We can't do a
three bedroom.
Speaker 7 (50:53):
Listen, go through the list and say, this person's really
not that important, this person's not really that important.
Speaker 16 (50:59):
Across them all is everybody's family.
Speaker 7 (51:01):
No everyone. I'm sure there's a cousin or two or
grandma that really doesn't need to be there.
Speaker 16 (51:06):
Sweety, Hey, what's that? Yes, well, you have me and
my wife on the line. Now, what did you You
could have told me this. I mean it because months
ago that you set your contracts out, you cast the checks.
Why did you cast a check?
Speaker 7 (51:20):
Because I cashed the checks because I'm going to give
you another weekend.
Speaker 1 (51:23):
No, we want that.
Speaker 16 (51:24):
We want that money back.
Speaker 7 (51:25):
I understand, sir, but I can't give you the money back.
Speaker 16 (51:27):
Oh, you give me that money back. We don't have
another rerun.
Speaker 7 (51:30):
Okay, miss, miss miss, I'm not talking to you. I'm
talking to him right now. Can I just finish my
conversation with him? Thank you talk to me this way
after she was I'm not talking to you. Thank you
talking to him.
Speaker 16 (51:43):
You don't you dare talk to my wife like that.
I swear to cod. You know you're you're very unprofessional.
Tell her what she's got the upper hands here.
Speaker 5 (51:52):
I want you to say, you're going to fix this.
Speaker 7 (51:54):
You've ruined your wife's weekend, and you don't want to
take the blade for it.
Speaker 5 (51:58):
I didn't do anything.
Speaker 16 (52:00):
Take the brain all up for it. But what I'm
getting my money back.
Speaker 7 (52:03):
Let me tell you, lady, I don't know how you
married to this one. He's a real Yeah, he sticks
up for you.
Speaker 16 (52:09):
That's for damn sure, ridiculous, your most unprofessional person I've
ever spoken to before my life. I feel I feel
sorry for your daughter, and I'll tell you that much.
Speaker 7 (52:19):
I feel I feel sorry that your wife back.
Speaker 16 (52:23):

Dolly fan? All right, Gray, someone who's gonna love this
interview with Dolly Parton on the way. Also, you know,
on this show a lot we talk about being single
versus being in a couple, and the sacrifices, the presumed
sacrifices you make when you are either by yourself or
in a couple. And so I got to thinking last
night I was looking at this list. I'm gonna get
(56:32):
to this in a few minutes, but not quite yet.
The reasons why married people secretly envy their single friends.
I found this online, and I don't think it has
to be this way. I want to talk to this
out with you people. I think it's okay to be
in a couple in that relationship, but not have to
sacrifice so much if there's a mutual understanding. And I'm
(56:53):
talking about cheating and having sex with the people. Stuff
not as important, not as important. We'll get to that
just a little bit right now. Now, as you know,
it is Thursday, and we are so proud to welcome
to the Elvistree Morning Show stage, Froggy Food.

a break from anxiety or stress. Science has figured out
something that is a stress reliever. It could be just
the smell of pizza, Okay, totally. A new study from
(58:15):
the University of East Anglia in England finds the smell
of freshly baked pizza can significantly ease stress and boost mood,
and it actually calms you down without even taking a bite.
Speaker 2 (58:26):
It's just a smell of it.
Speaker 7 (58:27):

made them feel comfortable. Seventeen percent so they were excited

Speaker 14 (59:10):
Study has found that adding bananas to your smoothie can
make it less less healthy, especially if it's got berries
in it. An enzyme in the bananas prevents your body
from absorbing an antioxidant called is it flabonols as much
as eighty four percent.
Speaker 6 (59:27):
Well, so we feel eliminate berries were good?

I'm sorry, it's my favorite yogurt. If you do not
eat yogurt, try this yogurt. This is not a commercial,
that is not an ad, but I I gotta tell you,
I am a yogurt aficionado and I really feel like this.
Speaker 13 (01:05:26):
There's none better.
Speaker 6 (01:05:27):
It's great. What flavor is that one?
Speaker 9 (01:05:29):
This is the strawberry and lingoenberry.
Speaker 6 (01:05:32):
Oh god, I love a good berry. I don't know
they sell the met Aikea when you're buying your your
your meatballs. It's when you buy meatballs at Ikia. They
got the lingoennberry jam with it. Yeah. It is thick
and creamy skier, which is the Icelandic name for yogurt.
So anyway, I'm right. I just had to say, hey, frog,
get what's up with you today?
Speaker 17 (01:05:51):
Oh?
Speaker 14 (01:05:52):
So this this weekend, I got a plan. I gotta
made my list of things. How exciting is this? Mow
the yard, trim the hedges, redo the mulch, and bade
the dogs that's my weekend.
Speaker 6 (01:06:03):
Wow, that sounds like a great weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:06:05):
Oh yeah, that's what I'm doing.
Speaker 6 (01:06:07):
You feeling good about it?
Speaker 10 (01:06:08):
I am?
Speaker 14 (01:06:09):
And by the way, just to update you, some people
had asked we took Rocky, remember he had surgery a
couple of weeks ago. Took him back to the yesterday
he got the all clear. He's oh, yeah, you go,
puppy Rocky.
Speaker 4 (01:06:20):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (01:06:20):
So we love your root.
Speaker 6 (01:06:22):
Yeah, We've got a weekend at the beach this weekend.
So I trimmed the hedges this morning as well.
Speaker 2 (01:06:27):
Hedges different hedges.
Speaker 8 (01:06:30):
Well they remain trimmed all the way through the weekend.
Speaker 6 (01:06:32):
Like what you have to Yeah. Well they're in the
shape of like poodles and things like that, like the
slow grower. Right, I'm a topiary looking Danielle, what's up
with you?
Speaker 9 (01:06:41):
All Right?
Speaker 8 (01:06:41):
So we talked about this a little bit earlier.
Speaker 7 (01:06:44):
But I am really proud of myself because Sheldon went
to England to pick up Spencer and bring him home
for the summer, right, and helped pack him up. But yesterday,
of course, while he's away, the smoke detector starts beeping, right,
and you cannot figure out which smoke detector's the beep.
As soon as you think you found the baby, you
gotta move to the next one. Well, guys, first try,
(01:07:05):
I found that damn beep. I opened the smoke detector.
I took the battery out, I put a new one
in there, and I put it back up there.
Speaker 8 (01:07:11):
And right did Yes, I did it.
Speaker 5 (01:07:13):
You did it.
Speaker 7 (01:07:14):
I have never been so fused.
Speaker 6 (01:07:16):
That is accomplishment.
Speaker 7 (01:07:18):
That is accomplishment. Thank you very much.
Speaker 17 (01:07:20):
I like it.
Speaker 6 (01:07:21):
Good for you, job, And this is most irritating thing
in the world until you find it. Right, So is
hey scary? What's up with you today?
Speaker 12 (01:07:27):
I know we all have different benchmarks that commemorate the
beginning of summer, like for Elvis, it's the first ice
cream cone. I gotta say, for me, it is what
we are doing tomorrow morning. I always get goosebumps going
down the Jersey Shore hanging out and doing this Jenkinson's
live broadcast, because for me, that is what really does
kick off summer. And if you can play hooky from work,
(01:07:49):
come down. This is an all day party. And it's
not just with the morning show. We're gonna have a
little John In free concerts all day, all afternoon, This
is not a commercial. This is me telling you you're
gonna have the time of your life, going to be
vibing out. I was trying to convince a bunch of
teachers earlier to take off from school tomorrow to come
and party with us at the shore, because that is what,
truly it is all about.
Speaker 6 (01:08:09):
Don't you think we'll be there in the morning and
the door's open at seven o'clock, and so we'll be
We'll be already at an hour in and the bar
opens early. Come on by. It's going to be all
day scary as right. We don't have any concerts with us.
We have us and you when you join us, and
then just plan to stay all day long. Hey, gandhi,
what's up with you?
Speaker 5 (01:08:26):
All right?
Speaker 8 (01:08:27):
So self promotionally, I dropped a new episode of my
podcast yesterday, So yes, yay, and in this one we
address some rumors and also talk about how hallucinogens may
have ruined some people's vacations. Oh yeah, okay, okay, just
to tease, don't want to give you anymore. Wow, Scotty
has had another meltdown. I don't know why we invited
him back, what we did, and you know, Scott loses mine.
Speaker 6 (01:08:49):
Scotty has meltdowns. It's what he does. Give him Mike, Hey,
pretty sure, Sam, what's up with you today?
Speaker 15 (01:08:53):
I know I'm not alone here, but one of my
life's pains is that I will not be able to
properly apologize to my dog ever. And I feel like
I hear a big from yesterday. I managed to sneak
into the condo. She didn't hear me, and she quietly
walked down the hallway and stopped because I scared her
so much. She didn't know who was in the house.
So I held up my phone so I could videotape
her reaction. And this poor thing was just staring down
(01:09:14):
the hallway with big eyes, being like, hello, are you
here to me? And for a minute, I've just made
sounds and banged on the floor and scared her until
I finally revealed myself. So I'm sorry, Savannah. No one
in the universe won't make me a parent. I would
torture that child. Oh my poor dog. I scared her
so much and I had a blast doing it, but
I did regret it.
Speaker 6 (01:09:31):
Oh Sam, I know, I'm is this your first dog,
by the way, my first dog?
Speaker 13 (01:09:37):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:09:38):
Growing up?
Speaker 7 (01:09:39):
Because I like it.
Speaker 6 (01:09:40):
You kind of mess with that dog's mind all the time.
Speaker 8 (01:09:42):
Poor kids.
Speaker 6 (01:09:42):
But I got bad news that dog is totally over
it and mind was not messed with.
Speaker 8 (01:09:47):
You're good, hope, So I feel like I have to
bring her extra treats.
Speaker 6 (01:09:50):
Yeah, dogs, I didn't only hold grudges. They don't, thank God.
But unless it's a very abusive situation.
Speaker 7 (01:09:55):
Do cats hold grudges?
Speaker 6 (01:09:57):
Well, they hold grudges. They don't even don't even does
to hold. That's the foot catch there into the three
things we need to know from Gandhi. Gandhi, what's going on?
Speaker 5 (01:10:05):
All right?
Speaker 8 (01:10:05):
Defend Secretary Pete Hegseth has accepted the luxury Boeing seven
forty seven jet from Qatar's royal family to use as
a temporary air force one. The plane, worth about four
hundred million dollars, would replace the current forty year old
presidential planes, while new ones from Boeing are delayed until
twenty twenty seven. President Trump calls it a gift to
save taxpayer money, but critics, including some Republicans, say it's
unethical and possibly illegal without Congress's approval due to the
(01:10:29):
Constitution's rules on foreign gifts. The jet needs costly security upgrades,
which could take years, raising concerns about safety and espionage.
Congresswoman Nancy Mace is filing a resolution to expel Congressman
Lamonica mcgivor. It comes as Congresswoman mcgiv is being accused
of assaulting, impeding, and interfering with law enforcement after touring
(01:10:49):
a migrant detention facility in New Jersey on May ninth
to conduct legal oversight. However, mcgiver and defenders say that
she has done nothing wrong and this action amounts to
political persecution. And finally, Sony is discontinuing its PlayStation rewards program.
The company unveiled its Star Rewards program in twenty twenty
two to give dedicated players a chance to earn digital
(01:11:10):
collectibles like NFTs, but now Sony says the program is
no longer accepting new members and it will end this year.
Current members will still be able to earn digital collectibles
through July twenty third, and will be able to redeem
their PlayStation rewards through November of twenty twenty six. Sony
also assured players that they will still be able to
access their collectibles after the program ends. And those are
(01:11:30):
your three things?
Speaker 5 (01:11:33):
The Brooklyn Boys podcast.
Speaker 6 (01:11:36):
I want to read his nut one because she gave
us two straws out of five as your corn beef.
If we're all go up take another bike? Okay, well,
what is his review of our podcast, Abe seventy seven? Yeah,
Ab says stop eating during the podcast dummies, listen.
Speaker 11 (01:11:51):
To the Brooklyn Boys podcast on the iHeartRadio apps, Apple
podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
Speaker 5 (01:11:58):
El mister ran in the Morning Show.
Speaker 6 (01:12:01):
On nine to eleven. We vowed to never forget. Help
America keep that promise. Donate eleven dollars a month to
the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at tetoot dot org. That's
t the number two t dot org.
Speaker 5 (01:12:23):
How mister ran in the morning show.
Speaker 6 (01:12:26):
Wow Tomorrow Morning Live from the Jersey Shore. My favorite
part about doing the show every Memorial Day weekend kick
off the Friday is watching the sun come up over
the ocean. It really is fantastic. You know, it doesn't
matter for at the Jersey Shore or for the Fountain
Blue during our morning show there or wherever we do
our shows, if we're on the ocean watching that ocean
(01:12:49):
as the sun comes up, or in the Widen the
Bahamas as well at Atlantis. I mean, it's just an amazing,
amazing thing, and we're gonna watch it tomorrow morning together
and we'll bring it to your life as you're sitting
in traffic. So there's that. It'll be a great day.
As we kick off the summary, it's our jump starts
to summer. Let's see. Okay, here's the thing. So in
the room, Danielle is married. Yes, Gandhi has a partner,
(01:13:13):
has a boyfriend, let's see. And Okay, Nate is single,
Scary has a girlfriend, but they don't live together. We
all have different stories. Right, I'm married, but I'm not
with my partner every every day of the week, my husband.
So I was reading this article ten reasons married people
(01:13:35):
secretly envy their single friends. Okay, they have the freedom
to choose these single people. They have way more social flexibility,
They can grow at their own pace. They can be
financially independent, they have time to pursue passion projects. They
have personalized routines, they can be spontaneous, they own time,
(01:14:00):
and they have less domestic stress and they have access
to endless possibilities. Okay, so Mike, what No, that just.
Speaker 8 (01:14:09):
Sounds like when you say it like that and all
of these things that married people are envying. It sounds
like marriage is the worst thing in the world exactly.
Speaker 6 (01:14:16):
This is my point, okay, And maybe for some people
it is. Maybe that list of things that people miss
out on while married, it's their own doing. And this
is where I want you to hear me out. We
can we can attack each one of these if you want,
or a few of them. There's got to be a
way to set up a relationship with someone when you're
finding you decided to get married, you decide to get married,
(01:14:37):
but these things are still monumentally important. They are very
important to you. I want you to marry me. I
want you to be my life partner, but can we
be officially partners, back to back in the jungle with
each other and looking out for each other at the
same time we're both growing as individual Why do we
want to let these stereotypical things get in our way?
(01:14:57):
Of course, we understand that if you're going to be married,
there's going to be compromise, there's going to be maybe
sometimes a lack of spontaneity. Sometimes you do want to
defer to your other half and let them make a
decision on dinner. Whatever you know, finances this and that.
But if you go into it with this agreement and
hopefully everyone sticks to that agreement, there's got to be
(01:15:18):
a way to make marriage work at the same time
you still grow as a person.
Speaker 8 (01:15:21):
Yep, I would hope so otherwise, like why would anybody
ever exactly married?
Speaker 6 (01:15:27):
But you know, I'm sure I'm assuming this, Gandhi, I'm
assuming most people walk into marriage without thinking these things through.
They just say, oh, we'll be great. We're having so
much fun dating each other, We're going to try so
much fun raising a family, and maybe they do, you know,
but giving up these freedoms for the sake of being married,
I don't know where's the middle line.
Speaker 7 (01:15:49):
I don't think you have to give maybe just done
who you marry. I mean, maybe some people want you
to give up those freedoms. But I feel like in
my marriage might be very lucky that he he's totally
the opposite. He's like, oh, you want to go there
with your friends, go I have a good time. You
need to do your things. You need to because I
feel like then we bring more stuff to the table
to each other, and then we want to spend more
(01:16:11):
time together and share things, and you know whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:16:13):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (01:16:13):
It's it's important to grow as and you know if
you want to. If you stifle your partner, I think
they're going to resent you.
Speaker 1 (01:16:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:16:19):
Well, maybe this is a relationship that when you're speaking
of this couple Danielle and Sheldon, yeah, maybe they're they're
worth an investigating. Maybe it's it sounds like it's working
very well for you guys, even with one of your
your kids out of the house and another one out
of the house sometime soon.
Speaker 5 (01:16:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:16:37):
Yeah, I mean I think that we all have challenges,
and we have all the challenges like everyone else does,
but you work through them. But I think on the
some of the things that you're mentioning in that list, though,
I'm just maybe I'm just lucky that he's not We're
not that type of couple.
Speaker 6 (01:16:52):
Well, and I also think if you are a partner
that is so overbearingly controlling, that that doesn't free you
up to be free at all, right, because you're too
busy policing the relationship.
Speaker 2 (01:17:07):
Yeah, that's no fun.
Speaker 6 (01:17:08):
So it works many different ways. Yeah, Gandhi.
Speaker 8 (01:17:10):
I always think about, you know, in Jerry Maguire when
he's like you complete me and everybody thought that was
just so romantic and amazing. I kind of feel like
that's a problem with relationships. If you're looking for somebody
to complete you, that creates a really weird codependency and
sort of like I hate to use the word toxic,
but just something that you have to rely on all
the time. Where I feel like people should compliment each other.
(01:17:31):
You want to be the wind beneath somebody's wings, not
something that's clipping their wings.
Speaker 13 (01:17:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:17:34):
I feel like that is to Danielle's point, what brings
resentment into a relationship? You gotta let people fly man.
Speaker 6 (01:17:41):
Right, we got to scary what's up?
Speaker 12 (01:17:43):
Marriage comes with a specific set of rules, traditions, and template.
At this template, I think, right a lot of times. Right,
But yet fifty percent of marriages plus fail. So in
any other facet of life, you would change this stuff
up if fifty percent failed, Right, So why can't we
rethink the rules and traditions of marriage or non traditions?
Speaker 6 (01:18:06):
Well that's that's my whole point. Yeah, but not many
people are going are on that path. Not a lot
of people don't feel that way.
Speaker 9 (01:18:13):
Like, I think it's changed slowly. I think it's just
what Gandhi was saying, I think people are seeing this
for what it is. Let's look at the entirety of
human existence. I mean humans have been around for what
twenty five thirty fifty thousand years. This whole marriage thing
has been then in the last what two three four
hundred years, and we're doing what our parents did and
(01:18:34):
their grandparents did. And because the world has changed significantly
in last especially fifty years, and especially the way people
approach relationships, I feel has to change.
Speaker 6 (01:18:47):
It really does. For sure, there's no way it can
continue the way our grandparents will break. But it's not
it's not changing for everyone.
Speaker 7 (01:18:54):
I think you have to take care of yourself in
order to really give a lot to a relationship. I
look at it the same way with people will tell
me like, oh, my life stopped after I have kids,
I can't do anything and I have to whatever. Can't
take care of myself. I get it. It's a lot,
and I get it. But I think if you don't
take care of yourself to a point, you're not gonna
be able to take care of your kids the exact
(01:19:15):
way you need to because you're not taking care of you.
There's a lot to taking care of you as a person.
Speaker 6 (01:19:23):
So I guess it goes back to what I was
saying at the very beginning. When you meet this someone
who you think, Okay, I want to investigate the possibility
of marrying them and quote unquote spending the rest of
my life with them to the best of my ability
and with an asterisk, asterisk asterisk next to it. But
you got to go in understanding, Look, you know, we
(01:19:45):
need to have our own lane sometimes. Yeah, just because
your own lane doesn't mean you're not on the same highway,
you know, agreed, and yeah, But the thing is, you
know sometimes people get married and it all looks great
and then it changes. People change or people don't change.
Speaker 8 (01:20:04):
The first thing or the last thing I should say
that you read on that list of why people are
jealous of their single friends. Was it like unlimited opportunity
or limited limitless opportunity? Will say that again, what was
the last thing that you read as far as what
because I to have access?
Speaker 6 (01:20:23):
Okay, they're jealous of their single friends because their single
friends have access to endless possibilities. Wow, that's a major,
major line.
Speaker 8 (01:20:31):
Yeah, that is so serious. If you end up with
a partner and you feel like suddenly you don't have
limitless opportunity and you know this person has capped you
in some way. I think that's something to really think about.
Married or not married. If that's how you feel about
your partner, that's a really big deal. All of those
were really big deals, but that one sort of made
me take a step back.
Speaker 6 (01:20:51):
It is a challenge being married, and the challenges isn't
always you know, just to get through the day with
your partners. Also like, well, I've lost touch with me,
I've lost touch with what I want to do. And
then after a while, you don't do anything. You just
live this you live this life where you, as I say,
(01:21:11):
sometimes you just kind of die on the vine like
a grape. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (01:21:15):
You can't do that.
Speaker 6 (01:21:16):
You can't do that. And so another way of looking
at this partnership, this marriage is looking out for the
other one, looking out for your person you married. Are
they happy today in their life?
Speaker 17 (01:21:27):
Right?
Speaker 13 (01:21:27):
You know?
Speaker 6 (01:21:27):
Might it's not only just about me and how I
can give them reasons to be happy and safe?
Speaker 13 (01:21:33):
But what about them?
Speaker 6 (01:21:34):
Are they giving themselves the room to grow?
Speaker 15 (01:21:37):
You know?
Speaker 6 (01:21:39):
You know, it's like a mama bird sometimes has to
kick the old chicks out of the nest, you know,
and say, hey, you need to go fly a little
bit here. I love you. I say that because I
love you.
Speaker 7 (01:21:50):
Right after it choose its food and spits it in
its mouth, sugar.
Speaker 6 (01:21:55):
It on this list again, Yes, okay. Ten reasons married
people secretly envy their single friends. They have the freedom
to choose. Okay, look, compromises are inevitable. I get that,
but the freedom to choose should be there.
Speaker 7 (01:22:09):
If you don't have the freedom to choose, then there's
a lot deeper things you need to be looking at.
Speaker 6 (01:22:13):
I think for sure they have more social flexibility, being
able to go out with friends. Single people's assumed have
the flexibility to engage in social activities just on a whim. Right, Yeah,
they can grow at their own pace. Well, you should
be able to grow at your own pace with me
as your husband.
Speaker 7 (01:22:32):
Of course.
Speaker 6 (01:22:34):
If you don't get to grow at your own pace,
then I'm doing something wrong too.
Speaker 4 (01:22:37):
Probably.
Speaker 6 (01:22:38):
Financially independent, well, that's a numbers game. That's your money,
our money.
Speaker 7 (01:22:43):
My money, and I think every situation is different with that.
Some people keep their money separate the whole time and
don't ever put their money together.
Speaker 5 (01:22:51):
You know.
Speaker 6 (01:22:52):
They have time to pursue passion projects. God. Great. Can
you imagine having a room down the hall in the
house we've own together that's devoted to you, the person
I married.
Speaker 2 (01:23:04):
That's your room.
Speaker 6 (01:23:04):
You do in there what you want to do. You
want to be a sculptor, you want to have an
orchestra playing in there at night. That's your that's your
passion project.
Speaker 8 (01:23:12):
You really love someone, Why would you ever want to
take their passion away from that or stomp on it
in some way?
Speaker 6 (01:23:18):
Jealousy takes too much time away from me. Okay, that's
the stuff you kind of work through. Yes, I do.
I was going to give them credit in a second.
Do you want to know now now?
Speaker 7 (01:23:29):
Because I'm just a little curious if this person will
have a camp with this list? Is like feeling a
little something something don't well.
Speaker 6 (01:23:35):
I can see how these are somewhat universal truths to
a lot of people who feel like they're being tamped
down in a relationship. Yeah, I can sound like they.
Speaker 2 (01:23:44):
Have an ownership, not a partnership.
Speaker 7 (01:23:45):
Right, it does.
Speaker 2 (01:23:46):
It's not.
Speaker 6 (01:23:47):
Yeah, but being spontaneous very important. They have their own time.
Oh my god, this is what's great about my relationship
ship I'm in. I miss Alex a lot, but at
the same time, we both have a lot of our
own time. It's kind of great. Yea very great. Uh
less domestic stress. Okay, well that's natural. And as you
said at the very end, they have access to endless possibilities. Well,
(01:24:12):
if I'm married to you, if I don't appreciate the
fact that you need access to endless possibilities for you,
then I'm not a good husband for you.
Speaker 8 (01:24:18):
Yeah, i'd be a good partner.
Speaker 7 (01:24:21):
Imagine squishing all of their dreams.
Speaker 6 (01:24:24):
Sorry exactly.
Speaker 8 (01:24:25):
The buck stops here like your mine now right.
Speaker 3 (01:24:28):
I don't know everything on that list.
Speaker 7 (01:24:31):
That's why I'm so happy, but at the same time scary.
Sorry interrupt you. I do have a friend who was
married for a very long time, and she probably would
agree with everything on this list because it wasn't the
right marriage for her and the guy. It was basically,
we're married. Now you're gonna do what I say and
breathe when I tell you to breathe. And that's how
(01:24:52):
she lived for years and that's a marriage. Yeah, exactly,
So that's why she's not in any Well, he wasn't abusive,
but he was very demanding, and she said she just
couldn't do it.
Speaker 6 (01:25:01):
Anya, Yeah, it's controlling, right, Well, I don't know something
to think about. Maybe, Look, if you can't have this
conversation with the person you're married to, or you're engaged
with or in a serious relationship with, if you cannot
have this conversation, then there you go. There's the shaky foundation.
You know, do you want to spend the rest of
(01:25:21):
your life with someone who doesn't appreciate the fact that
you need your own lane? And do you want to
spend the rest of your life with someone who you
will not allow to have their own lane? You know,
these are deep thoughts, and you know you got to
think about them, or you know you can just skate
through life and never even think about them at all.
But death doomingto destruction? I'll wait you I do you think?
(01:25:44):
All right? So best of luck with that this holiday weekend.
Speaker 7 (01:25:50):
That's great.
Speaker 8 (01:25:51):
I think that's stuff you should everybody should be thinking of,
whether you're in a relationship that's marriage or just a relationship.
You should think about all those things because your life
partner determines so much of the happiness level in your
life that you need to be smart about these things.
Speaker 6 (01:26:04):
Absolutely. Danielle has a report coming up in a few minutes.
Who do you have coming up?
Speaker 5 (01:26:08):
Daniel Uh.
Speaker 7 (01:26:09):
We are going to talk about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey.
Are they living together? And what is the reason Miley
Cyrus's voice is so ratsby And.
Speaker 6 (01:26:18):
Is Taylor shaving his back?
Speaker 5 (01:26:20):
Yes?
Speaker 6 (01:26:21):
Obviously not not just past week from what we saw
in the photos. Also the one the only Dolly Parton?
When is she on? In about twenty minutes? About ten minutes,
Oh my god.
Speaker 5 (01:26:32):
This is Elvis Duran in the Morning show.
Speaker 6 (01:26:37):

Live from the Mercedes Benz Interview Lounge.
Speaker 6 (01:26:55):
There's nothing more fun than being in Dolly Parton's kitchen.
And here we are. Good morning, Dolly, Well.
Speaker 13 (01:27:00):
Good morning, I got it my table set for you.
Speaker 6 (01:27:03):
Okay, okay, what are we eating there? Go ahead? You
give us a little you know what We've.
Speaker 10 (01:27:08):
Got single served meals and this one is the beef
pot roast. This one is the shrimp and grits. It's
got a little bit of a kick to it. If
you like that, you wouldn't want to feed that to
the baby. It's called the biscuit battered peach cobbler, and
it serves a lot of people. But these are single service,
but the big serving, so if you don't eat like
(01:27:30):
a hog, it'll serve too.
Speaker 5 (01:27:33):
Aere.
Speaker 13 (01:27:33):
We're excited. It's in the frozen food ouse.
Speaker 10 (01:27:37):
And this is something I've been dreaming about for years,
to have really good meals that you could just go
home into tartar cook I.
Speaker 6 (01:27:43):
Love it because this is the stuff I grew up eating.
I ate every one of these things growing up. It
was in the chicken fried steak or country fried steak,
and of course peach cobbler. But you know, my mama
always had a little vat of bacon drippings next to
the stove. Did your mom know that too? Yeah? You
still do?
Speaker 5 (01:28:00):
Oh yeah?
Speaker 13 (01:28:00):
People give me that for Christmas.
Speaker 5 (01:28:02):
Thank God.
Speaker 10 (01:28:03):
I say, save your bacon drippings because there's so many
things that taste so much better with that. I guess
it's supposed to be healthy, but what is healthy that's good?
Speaker 5 (01:28:12):
Right? Exactly.
Speaker 6 (01:28:16):
You know, it's funny.
Speaker 5 (01:28:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:28:17):
It was not that many years ago. You came out
with your your your baked good stuff, and the strawberry
cake is my favorite, just to be honest. And now
she has her chocolate pie in the freezer, and now
all this other stuff you never have to cook in. Look,
we have a whole list of things we want to
get to with you, and we start with this. I'm
gonna get back to this as well. Happy fortieth anniversary
for Dollywood. Did you guys know what it's forty years old?
Speaker 16 (01:28:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:28:38):
I did not.
Speaker 9 (01:28:39):
I know.
Speaker 10 (01:28:40):
Last weekend we went up and celebrated the whole fortieth
anniversary of a couple of weeks ago, and it just
seems like it's fifteen years at you know, at the most.
But then here it is forty years later and we're
still going strong. So thank you for bringing that up.
Speaker 13 (01:28:54):
We're very proud of that.
Speaker 6 (01:28:55):
And also, Danielle here is our biggest Broadway lover. Did
you know the Dolly Partners is coming to Broadway? I
had no idea. That's okay. What about this Dolly?
Speaker 10 (01:29:07):
Well, actually it's called an original music musical. It's called
Dolly an original that'd be me, of course, but I
did write a whole lot of original songs for it
to carry the story. But of course it has all
the big hits, but it tells why and how and
the timeframe of how those songs came to be, and
it's just my journey from my early childhood up to
(01:29:29):
now and the behind the scenes that a lot of
people I think will be surprised to know. But it's
actually going to start previewing in Nashville here on July
the eighteenth, But the big world premiere is going to
be here at the Fisher Center of the Performing Arts
at Belmont University on August the eighth, and then it'll
play through August and then we moved to New York
(01:29:51):
and open on Broadway next year.
Speaker 7 (01:29:53):
Well, did you have anything to do with casting, Like
did you help them out with picking who you wanted
to play Dolly?
Speaker 13 (01:29:59):
Well, we had several people.
Speaker 10 (01:30:00):
We put out a casting call and we actually send
about forty eight people to New York to be interviewed
for different.
Speaker 13 (01:30:08):
Parts, not just the dollies.
Speaker 10 (01:30:10):
But yeah, it's really harder to find there's three dollars,
there's a little Dolly in the middle, Dolly and then
the older Dolly that kind of carries the story, narrates
the story in a way. So yeah, we had We've
really had some wonderful artists on the show, and I
think people are gonna love it, And of course once
we get to New York that might even change some again.
Speaker 13 (01:30:31):
But We've got a wonderful.
Speaker 10 (01:30:33):
Cast and I'm really looking forward to seeing it myself.
We've worked so hard for so many years on it,
and all the casts from New York came down to
work the show up because my husband, Carl was ill
and I would not go out of town and so
I stayed here, so we started working it here. So
we thought, well, we'll just go ahead and do the
whole premiere here since this is my second home in Nashville.
Speaker 13 (01:30:55):
So I'm excited about the fact that it is going
to premiere here.
Speaker 8 (01:31:00):
Are to you ever to watch all of these people
pretend to be you in front of you, very It's.
Speaker 10 (01:31:06):
Very bizarre, and it's very emotional. It just takes you
on such an emotional journey just seeing your life done
like that and seeing different people playing you. Course, it's
always hard, Like you mentioned, what my feelings were about
the different members.
Speaker 13 (01:31:23):
Of the cast.
Speaker 10 (01:31:24):
But they do a great job, and they're just so talented,
these people that play on stage. I have such admiration
this now that I never knew before what all goes
into putting a.
Speaker 13 (01:31:35):
Show on Broadway or on stage like that.
Speaker 10 (01:31:39):
I'm more used to television and performing on stage as
an entertainer, but boy, there's a whole world of things
that go on that you never know. How hard these
people work and how great they are. So I really
hope people are gonna like it.
Speaker 6 (01:31:53):
Oh you're never gonna love it, and the front center.
But you know, this is not a new thing. People
pretend to be Dolly. My favorites were always when a
big old Dolly drag queen will come out, and a
lot of them love meeting you because I I've seen
some photos over the ears of these drag queens who
are like twice your height with maybe wigs. That must
just make you feel kind of well cool, knowing that
(01:32:17):
people love you, They just love your presence and they
wanted they want to act it out on their own.
Speaker 10 (01:32:21):
Oh well, I get a kick out of those drag queens.
You're right, I'm little anyhow, and even with the high
heels I'm still little. But these guys when they get
dressed up, they're already you know, six feet tall, and.
Speaker 13 (01:32:32):
Then they put on those high heels and it's like you.
Speaker 5 (01:32:34):
But it's funny.
Speaker 10 (01:32:35):
People always say, okay, believe you look so talk about
the drag queens like I said, look, I don't care
what they're dragon los a dragon to my show.
Speaker 8 (01:32:48):
Is it true that you actually entered because I see
this meme all the time, you entered a drag show
and you lost to someone who looked more like.
Speaker 5 (01:32:55):
You than you.
Speaker 10 (01:32:56):
It's true, but that was his though I love gay
hairdresser at the time. Uh lived up there near Santa
Monica Builder where a lot of the gays hang out,
and every Halloween, of course they all dress up. And
he said, well, let's go down, and he said they
get free drinks for you know, for the people that participate,
so they would just walking across the stage. Whoever got
(01:33:18):
the most applause, uh, you know, got free drinks for
the rest of the night or whatever. So he talked
me into just kind of over exaggerating.
Speaker 13 (01:33:25):
Myself, if that's possible.
Speaker 10 (01:33:27):
But you know, bigger beauty, mark, bigger hair, bigger whatever.
So I all these big drag queens going across the
stages Dolly, and then I walked across the stage, you know,
just trapsing across My little sawed off honky legs here
and nobody.
Speaker 13 (01:33:44):
Pulled it like a little trick all that out.
Speaker 10 (01:33:46):
That was probably David, my hairdresser, but we laughed so hard.
So I always told the story that I entered a
Dolly lookerike contest and lost.
Speaker 6 (01:34:00):
What So hearing you tell these stories, it takes you
back to a time, back to a place of all
the millions of things, these memories you have that have
built up over over your life in lifetime and as
we have it in our lives as well. But to
watch it being played out on stage, and also reading
someone's biography about you, it makes you learn a lot
about you. You learn you're always learning about you through
(01:34:22):
what you've been through in your life. And it must
be just just a superchurch. You know that so many
people are interested in you, where you came from and
where you're going.
Speaker 13 (01:34:31):
Well, I feel very lucky.
Speaker 10 (01:34:32):
You know that I've lived long enough to even and
did well enough to even Marrit having my life story
told her that have people that interested in me it's
very humbling, but it is very emotional, just like when
putting the shows together. Then when I started seeing all
these actors playing out my life story, I mean, I
would cry and then I would laugh, and then I.
Speaker 13 (01:34:54):
Would just get kind of moody, you know.
Speaker 10 (01:34:56):
It was just like it was such an emotional journey
to watch your life like that and still be alive,
to watch your live story.
Speaker 13 (01:35:05):
I'm still living. But we did manage to cover it
from the early days until pretty much up to now.
Speaker 10 (01:35:13):
And I wrote a book years ago called My Life
and Other Unfinished Business. So to me, some of this
is a lot of that unfinished business that I didn't
get to tell back when the book came out many
years ago. So a lot of things happened since then.
But it's emotional when they get to the parts, you know,
because my husband plays a big part in the show,
(01:35:33):
my uncle Bill, who was very important in my life,
all importer, all those people that were so important in
my life, they're dead now. And my friend, my best
friend Judy, she's in the show. She's not in great
health either. But get I guess so overwhelmed with emotion
when we're doing those parts. But yet at the same time,
I'm just so proud of the wonderful people that I
(01:35:56):
have been able to have made contact with than to
have in my life, because nobody success is, you know,
is by themselves. There's always wonderful people that support you
and help you emotionally, physically, and even financially.
Speaker 13 (01:36:12):
So it's it's a good story.
Speaker 10 (01:36:14):
And I really I've really been willing to allow a
lot of truths and things to come out in this
that that I've never really talked about in depth in
books or in interviews.
Speaker 13 (01:36:26):
So I think people are going to be surprised for
what this show really is.
Speaker 6 (01:36:30):
Well, the stories and the legacy live forever. Dotty parton.
Of course, let's get back to the food, because you
know what another way to.
Speaker 7 (01:36:36):
Tell them, I always get back to your food.
Speaker 6 (01:36:38):
We talk about we talk about where we're from, what
makes us who we are, the culture we're from, and
the foods that you have chosen to put in your
line that's coming out.
Speaker 5 (01:36:48):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (01:36:49):
It takes me back to like I said to my childhood,
I mean, what's one of these dishes we're talking about
in your new line that's going to be out? Is
it out now? Is it soon?
Speaker 2 (01:36:58):
It's soon?
Speaker 10 (01:36:59):
Right, it's supposed to be nationwide now in the frozen
food isles, Yeah, how long be course, the other stuff,
as you mentioned before, is still there and doing really well,
and this just kind of enhances it.
Speaker 13 (01:37:09):
But this is like you can have complete four meals.
Speaker 10 (01:37:12):
We got the cobbler for dessert, but you can also
bake all those other cakes and pies and cookies. But
this is Southern food the way I remember it, the
way I love it, and I'm very involved in the
food tasting when we put these things together with Connagra,
and so these are true hearty, flavorful meals. You get
so many frozen foods especially that are just bland, and
(01:37:35):
you think, Lord, you have to put so much salt
and pepper and butter on it.
Speaker 13 (01:37:38):
You just wonder why you're even doing it. And I'm
really proud of the whole lot.
Speaker 7 (01:37:42):
How many times did you say to them, no, this
is not right, but it needs more spice or it
needs less spice.
Speaker 10 (01:37:49):
Well I said it a time or too, and they listened.
I said, now it's got it. That's that's not rich
or hearty or flavorful enough. So we got to have
more seasoning. You gotta put more you gotta put more
salt and pepper.
Speaker 13 (01:38:00):
And butter or whatever it does. She give it that flavor.
Because these these are not diet dishes. So I'm not
promoting it.
Speaker 10 (01:38:06):
As that these are hardy meals. You gotta you gotta
really build good eater to want these kind of things.
Speaker 6 (01:38:13):
Before we come too, my friends with Amen, Amen's sister,
but before we go, choose one of those dishes that
you grew up eating, and tell maybe there's a story
behind it or something you're experiencing. And you had to
come in after a long day working somewhere and then
you sat down and there was a big plate of
whatever right in front of you, and it just changed
your night. Which is your favorite dish out of all
(01:38:34):
these that has probably the most stories behind them.
Speaker 10 (01:38:37):
Actually, they're all favorite foods of mine and favorite dishes.
I've always been a fit, big fan of chicken and dumplings,
and I do make chicken and dumplings for my family,
and I even cook it and freeze it and give
it to my family, my brothers and sisters and nieces
and nephews, you know, for Christmas. I kind of I
cook food and give it to them because I still
cook like mama and my aunts and my grandma's and
(01:38:58):
that's what a lot of this food taste like. But
everybody has their own kind of chicken and dumpling recipe,
but we added more vegetables and things in this chicken
and dumplings, so when you do have a single meal,
you feel like rather than just having the dumplings and
the gravy, which a lot of people do, we added
vegetables to it as well, and it's really really tasty.
Speaker 13 (01:39:20):
But there's nothing in this.
Speaker 10 (01:39:21):
World too, just like a good old pot roast, don't
you agree When you go somewhere it's like absolutely yeah,
because I would never I could never be a vegetarian
myself because I love I love meat, I love.
Speaker 13 (01:39:33):
Work and all of the good meat.
Speaker 6 (01:39:36):
So and you know what they said about, you know, vegetarians,
If God had meant for us to be vegetarians, he
would not have made animals out of meat.
Speaker 13 (01:39:44):
I justify anything we want to.
Speaker 6 (01:39:49):
Gott You have one more thing she wanted to talk about,
because we talked about this last time we spoke with you.
Speaker 8 (01:39:53):
Yeah. I love everything you do. Obviously. You are one
of my very favorite people on the planet. And something
that I think doesn't get nearly enough attention as it should.
Is your Imagination Library. I just wanted to say how
much I love it and what a good program it is.
But for people who don't know about it, can you
tell us about it for a second.
Speaker 13 (01:40:12):
Well, thank you for bringing that up.
Speaker 10 (01:40:13):
That's one of the things I'm proudest of in my
whole career is the Imagination Library, where we actually give
books to children from the time they're born.
Speaker 13 (01:40:22):
It's no cost to the parents.
Speaker 10 (01:40:23):
All you have to do sign up for it, and
they get their own little book in the mail once
a month.
Speaker 13 (01:40:28):
Until let's start school.
Speaker 10 (01:40:29):
And we started this twenty almost thirty years ago now,
and we just started in my home county. I did
it with my dad, who couldn't read and write, and
that always troubled him, and it troubled me that he
was troubled. So I wanted to do something special that
dad could help me with, and so he really got
involved with me to help me, give me some good
(01:40:50):
pointers and all of that, and he got to live
long enough to see it doing really well.
Speaker 13 (01:40:55):
But we started out just in our home county.
Speaker 10 (01:40:57):
Then the governor at the time, Governor Phil Bretison, thought
it was a great program we took at Tennessee wide, statewide,
and then it went into Canada. Now we're in parts
all over the world and up to date we've given
almost three hundred million books children to learn to read,
to love books, and more than anything, if they get
(01:41:19):
that little book with their name on it in the mail,
they're going to make somebody sit down and read it.
So it is my philosophy, my belief that if you
can read, you can educate yourself. If you can't afford
to go to college or whatever, there's a book out
there on anything and everything you want to know, just
like online these days, you know you can you can
(01:41:40):
find anything you want to know. But if you can't read,
that makes your life very limited. But I am proud
of that, and thank you for bringing that up.
Speaker 6 (01:41:49):
Dolly, you were just something fabulous and you know and
and now we can go to the grocertory and we
can get a taste of Dolly and everybody it's like
dollty partner fabulous. Thank you so much for being with us,
And I hope you have the most wonderful day and
you always have. You always have a place at our
table here. Dolly Parton we love you. Thank you so much.
Speaker 13 (01:42:10):
That's set.
Speaker 5 (01:42:11):
Thank you so much, all of you.
Speaker 11 (01:42:15):

who's nose is whistling?
Speaker 16 (01:43:51):
Wait?
Speaker 6 (01:43:53):
We got a whistley bogger? Who's got we we got
a whistley bugger.
Speaker 8 (01:43:56):
When we try to do it, it doesn't happen with
to breathe mainly.
Speaker 6 (01:43:58):
Yeah, you can't force it. I'm sitting here listening to
it's a ouch.
Speaker 2 (01:44:11):
The higher pitch.
Speaker 6 (01:44:11):
Yeah, there's there's a Yeah, there's a chunk. There's a
chunk in there. Wow, you know our conversation with Dolly Parton.
A lot of people texting in about a lot of
people are in love with Dolly Parton just as we
are as well. Right, what do you love most about
Dolly got I.
Speaker 8 (01:44:29):
Think her charitable efforts just in general. She does so much.
She never makes a big deal about it. You know,
so many celebrities like hype it up. There's so much
she's done that's flown under the radar. But that imagination
library to me is like everything.
Speaker 2 (01:44:40):
I love it.
Speaker 7 (01:44:41):
Plus, she's done so much and she's and she's like
an icon, but she's still so nice. Like she's done
everything and is so famous, but she's still down to
earth and a nice.
Speaker 6 (01:44:51):
Person, very much so. And I know it's speaking for
Froggy and me being from the South and being from
the Southwest. Dolly Parton is so many women that we
grew up knowing. I mean really truly, Like especially your
mom's friends and your grandparents' friends were like, Dolly, I mean,
how do you how do you put it into words?
Speaker 4 (01:45:12):
Right?
Speaker 6 (01:45:12):
I mean that that kind gentle ha are you? Southern
charm just so relaxed, and you know we grew up
with that, so you know, living in the Northeast for
so many years. You know, I sometimes forget, I forget
what it's like to be around people that are actually
really like that you scary. You guys have no clue, No,
(01:45:34):
we don't.
Speaker 3 (01:45:34):
I think she's the Southern buddy Petty White.
Speaker 6 (01:45:36):
Actually she's so. She's so sweet and charming.
Speaker 3 (01:45:39):
She makes me laugh and smile.
Speaker 12 (01:45:41):
She's so, she's so, she smiles when she talks, so
she it's infectious.
Speaker 6 (01:45:45):
She's great.
Speaker 9 (01:45:46):
So there's these four guys, and it's the four horsemen
of wholesomeness. And it's Bob Ross, who you know did
the paintings. Yeah, Steve her when the crock hunter. Yeah
uh was his name, mister Rogers from mister Rogers neighborhood.
Without she should be added to that list, right. Granted,
(01:46:07):
those four are no longer with us, But but Dolly
Parton is like the Mount Rushmore of wholesomeness and making
you feel good about yourself.
Speaker 6 (01:46:16):
You know. Well, I was at the grocery store yesterday.
I wanted to buy one of those Dolly dinners and
I was looking in specific for the either the country
fried steak or the chicken and dumplings. They didn't have
them yet. They didn't have any of her dollars stuff.
I mean in her corn bread mix and her brownie
mix over in the you know that, the baking section.
But nah, I gotta get back to I gotta find

back to them. Let me tell you what Tunnel to
Towers Foundation is doing this Memorial Day. Listen to this.
This is a very special thing to take care of
(01:48:07):
those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
They're providing twenty five mortgage free homes to the families
these men and women have worked here. Yeah, twenty five
from Memorial Day weekend. You know Frank Seller who started
Tuntle to Towers as the chairman and CEO, Now he

It's the least we can do for those who laid
down their lives for our country and our freedom. So
this Memorial Day, Tuntal to Towers is honoring the memory
of those who volunteered to serve our great nation and
didn't make it home. These families that left behind will
always have a place to gather and celebrate their fallen

to express our gratitude and deliver this very very clear message.
Sacrifice has not and will not be forgotten period. Tunnel
to Towers the gold Star Family Home Program. It honors
the legacy of those who have made that ultimate sacrifice
while serving our country, paying off the mortgage and providing
