What a weekend. It's fun. Let's go check in with Megan.
It's her birthday. Did you start celebrating over the weekend, Megan?
Did you start your birthday celebration a little early?

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Hi?

Speaker 10 (03:21):
Yes, I did. I had double the fun of birthdays.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
At a girl at a girl? What did you do?
Hang up with friends? What did you do? What did
you do?

Speaker 10 (03:30):
Saturday wasn't friends, Sunday was the family, so it was

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Well, now it's your actual birthday are you? Are you
all shot? Are you done? You're nothing left in the
in the whatever the shaft.

Speaker 10 (03:43):
In the tank, in the tank. I'm a teacher, so
I have to, you know, put on a bubbly face.
And the kids don't know it's my birthday.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
They're going to be upset if you don't tell them.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Well, you know you should hold that back and you
could play that card if they give you a crap today,
the kids are like gnawn at you. You know, today's
my birthday? Why are you doing this?

Speaker 1 (04:08):
You know?

Speaker 10 (04:08):
I'm good about it. I I'm kind of patty. I

starting your birthday with us. What are you for?

Speaker 10 (04:17):
Megan?

Speaker 11 (04:17):
It's your birthday birthday, so we're gonna whip out the
full Elvis straight aparel line thanks to Hackensack Murty in health.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
All right, Megan, did you watch an interview video music
Awards last night.

Speaker 10 (04:28):
I was too busy celebrating Elvis.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Oh all right, all right, all right, I'm.

Speaker 10 (04:34):
Also upset about football too. I'm a Jet Span, so
you know we're always upset.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Chat Jet, what about you, producer Sandwich up.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
I was gonna ask Megan, who should I read horscopes
with this morning? For your birthday?

Speaker 10 (04:49):
Oh? Gandhi?

Speaker 2 (04:51):
All right, Hill, Gandhi, birthday, Gandhi the chosen one. All right, Megan,
happy birthday. Hold on one second, We're gonna send you
a big mountain or something. All right, get into the
three things we need to know from Gandhi, and then
we come back to Gandhi to do horoscopes. Gandhi, all morning.
It's all you.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
I will thank you all morning.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
It's all up to you. All right, what's going on?

Speaker 4 (05:09):
All right? A bipartisan team of House lawmakers say that
they have enough votes to force a release of Justice
Department files on Jeffrey Epstein. Kentucky Republican Thomas Massey and
California Democrat Rokana told ABC that they feel confident. The
two started a petition that would force a vote on
releasing the files. They say they aren't concerned that the
effort might be blocked in the Senate, or that the
Justice Department might remove any Republican names from the documents.

(05:33):
The FDA has issued an important alert calling a green
list to stop unapproved and unverified GLP one drug ingredients
from entering the US. We know that there have been
a lot of shortages, so shortages of FDA approved GLP
one drugs like some aglue tide, have left some patients
using compounded versions of the drug. These compounded drugs have

(05:55):
raised concerns over dosing errors and adverse reactions that have
led to hospitalizations. The FDA's green list includes pharmaceutical ingredients
that have been inspected by the agency and considered incompliance
with US standards, so it might be a little bit
harder to get them soon, but we'll see how all
this plays out. And finally, sadly for US, there were
two winning lottery tickets sold in the one point eight

(06:17):
billion dollar powerball jackpop but none of them went to US.
Two tickets sold in Missouri and Texas matched all six
numbers and Saturday drawing of the nationwide lottery. Both states
allow lottery winners to remain anonymous. Also, two lucky tickets
sold in Kansas and Texas won a two million dollar prize.
Eighteen tickets sold across thirteen states won one million dollars.

(06:38):
We won none of this, but other.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
People no, no, noa. Now hold on, we did win.
Scottie be telling them what we want. We won together.
We won sixteen dollars. Oh my god, look at that now?
Who did not pay? Who gets no piece of that pie?

Speaker 9 (06:56):
Garrett gets nothing, Abbey gets nothing, and Deanna gets nothing.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Monday no part of that sixteen dollars. It was the
second biggest jackpot in power ball history. Solf, Congratulations to
all of those people, none of whom were us. And
those are your three things?

Speaker 2 (07:10):
You guys ready for your Monday? Yeah, let's go.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
I ever wondered what we look like?

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Do you think I look in bread?

Speaker 4 (07:16):
I do?

Speaker 8 (07:16):
Follow us on Instagram at Elvis Duran show.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Elvis Duran in the Morning Show, all right, why.

Speaker 11 (07:23):
Am I reaching for the lead bottle? Well, yesterday's leg
day is catching up with me today. With just one pill,
a lead provides up to twelve hours of body pain
relief to keep me moving. So use as directed.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Hope you had a good weekend. When's the next one?
Can we schedule another weekend at the end of the week?

Speaker 5 (07:49):
Boy, can we.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Get I would love to do a little weekend thing. Hey,
you know we have a thousand dollars free money phone
tap things to Atlantis coming up a little bit later
on and all week long. I can't wait for that.
I would love a little trip to Atlantis. By the way,
that wouldn't be a bad thing, rolling around in the sand.
Let's see, we're gonna get into the horoscopes. Birthday girl
who called in a second ago, Megan, she wants Gandhi

(08:12):
to do the horsecopes. Did you notice she didn't ask
for Nate?

Speaker 4 (08:16):
Shocking, It's weird. I also flattered, Thank you, Megan. Sorry Nate.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
I was having lunch with a lot of friends yesterday.
We're celebrating some stuff, but it was great. And one
of my friends said that Nate, how is he doing
out there in the dating world. I said, I think
he's doing okay. He's just I don't know if he's
as as targeted on dating as much as he is
just having fun, you know, doing his thing. She's said, well,

(08:43):
he's he's a good looking guy, and he has he
has that cocky thing going. Oh really, you think he's
a little cocky. Yeah, he's so sure of himself. It's
a little overbearing, but I think that's gonna work well
for him. A little overbearing a little, but she thinks
that will work well for you.

Speaker 6 (09:00):
Yeah, it's okay, weird.

Speaker 11 (09:02):
Hey, I appreciate any any feedback, any and all feedback
from your friend is appreciated.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
Can I ask that you stop using the word cockshore?
Please get very very cocksure, please. God, that's that's the
that's the genesis of cocky, right, cockshure? Yes, yeah, that's
I think. I think that's where it's from. I don't
know exactly what that means, but I'm quite cockshot.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
No, cockshore is it's like cocky, and you know, you're
just sure of yourself. You're you or you sure are cocky? Yeah,
nothing wrong. I just called you. I was called you corky.
You sure are corky? I mean cocky arrogantly confident? Yes,
arrogantly confident? All right, cockshure, Nate, you just sit over

(09:46):
there and be cocksure. Happily. Let's get into those horoscopes.
You guys, let's go. I know who you're doing it.
It's not Nate, It's Gandhi. All right, let's do it.
All right.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
If you celebrate today September eighth, you're celebrating with some
cool people. Pink, what is Khalifa? Big Boy and Bernie
Sanders Happy birthday, Woo Virgo. Your brain is running marathons
while your body just wants a nap, so take the break.
Your day's an eight Beliebra.

Speaker 12 (10:11):
That idea you keep dismissing it might actually be your
next big thing, so stop doubting it.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
Your day's a six Scorpio. Let somebody else take the
wheel today. You don't always have to be the one driving,
literally or emotionally. Your date is a ten Sagittarius.

Speaker 12 (10:23):
Let your silence speak volumes. Sometimes it's more what you
don't say that impacts your Day's a nine Capricorn.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
Somebody isn't saying the whole story. Stay cool, but read
between those lines. Your date is a seven ooh Aquarius.
Not everyone deserves a seat at your table, especially if
they never bring the good energy. Your day's of five Pisces. Honestly,
you could be a little more delusional in a good way.
Believe in yourself like you're the main character. Your date
is an eight. Hey, Aries, if.

Speaker 12 (10:47):
You feel like you're being watched, you might be, or
you just need to unplug and unwind.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
Your day's a six. Taurres, You've got a secret that
could set you free or blow everything up. Maybe write
it down first, then decide. Your day is an eight.

Speaker 12 (10:59):
It's a good car, Gemini, You're into trust your intuition today,
even if it's just telling you to avoid that weird
vibe around the corner.

Speaker 4 (11:06):
Your day's a nine. Cancer, don't let that one rude
text ruin your whole day. People protect you. Protect Your
day's a seven.

Speaker 12 (11:12):
And finally, Leo, watch out for slick words disguised as kindness.
Not every smile comes from a friend. Your day's of
nine and those are you Monday morning horoscopes?

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Thank you? So Yeah the MTV Video Music Award last night.
I did find one thing sort of odd kicking off
the show with Kenny G. That was yeah, Kenny G
and who doja cat? Jja came out Kenny G and
doja Cat? I'm like, uh did it work?

Speaker 8 (11:41):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (11:43):
It was weird. They started for like thirty seconds and
a light up trumpet, you know, and then all of
a sudden it was a push to the.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Side and then he wasn't not a trumpet but would win. Yeah.
My question is this, who's sitting around you know, going, Oh,
I got it, guys, we need Kenny g to start
the MTV Video Music Awards.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
That was interesting.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
It was interesting. Anyway, I love watching the Awards. I
thought it was very well done. It was it was fun.
It was fun. I'm sure daniel has more on the
awards coming up. What else you have coming up?

Speaker 13 (12:12):
We are going to talk about Lizzo saying that you
know what, she doesn't think there really was a song
of the Summer, and I'll tell you why.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
Okay, Elvis d Rands After Party.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Okay, Danielle, He's gonna start right. If you're good, topics.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
You'd never hear on the air.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
Oh God, get away and read Katie that.

Speaker 8 (12:31):
Listen now on the iHeartRadio app or wherever you get
your podcasts.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
It is the what is it called Elvis.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
Tera Rands after Party?

Speaker 3 (12:38):
Ask for it by name.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
Elvis Terran in the morning show.

Speaker 8 (12:42):
You're here to keep on going, keep the world moving,
keep me to me, Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Hey, we were talking about this yesterday. A lot of
weird topics came up at lunch. My favorite, I think,
was do you have a freestanding clock in your house?

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Oh?

Speaker 14 (12:58):
My god?

Speaker 15 (12:59):
Free to?

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Well, it's just a clock. I'm not talking about the
clock on your microwave oven. I you know what I'm saying.
That's not a free standing clock. It's just a clock.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Could it be an alarm clock? But just an alarm
clock all by itself?

Speaker 5 (13:14):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (13:14):
Yeah, yeah, I guess, I guess they could be a
free standing clock. Yes, I go to Yeah, I'm sure
Nate has a grandfather clock. Believe it or not, I
don't have that technology in my home. I don't have
a free standing clock either. I just don't. I mean, well,
I have you know the Alexis thing. You know that
that the echo, But that's not a free standing clock.

(13:35):
That's also an echo, you know what I'm saying. So
we've we did some digging. One in ten Americans own
a free standing clock. That's it.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
So I started doing a little deep dive about telling time.
Older Americans, of course, far more likely than younger Americans
to have clocks and watches of Americans say that they
check what time it is multiple times per hour. These
are the things I found in my might digging around.

(14:07):
Most Americans say they like to show up early to
most types of events. Oh okay, okay, let me find
some good stuff. Most people under twenty don't know how
to read an analog clock. They don't have they don't
know how to read it. Do even I mean, if
you're listening right now, you may ask yourself what is
an analog clock? It's that round thing with the hands

(14:28):
that go around.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
I mean, I think they still teach that in school,
don't they to the kids.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
I don't know. I don't know do they.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
I think mind did at the time, but mine or older,
so I don't know.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
So yeah, so I wonder, I mean, do all of
our interns know how to read an analog clock? Have
you checked it? Checked them out?

Speaker 4 (14:45):
We should screen them for that before we hire them,
for sure.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Yeah, that would be a prere.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
It's so weird, But if you think about it, it's
just such a it's so antiquated compared to you know,
what we're used to, a digital. Every digital it's so
so different. But it's like a big, big thing with hands.
I mean, you might as well have a sun dial
out front, you know.

Speaker 4 (15:03):
I was like, oh what first, I kind of wish
we had one of those in this room because of
how what are you pointing out? Oh, because of the
way that we have to keep track of the clock.
It would be nice if we could actually see that.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Thing we do look at hidden in the corner of it.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
I've never seen that before in my life.

Speaker 5 (15:20):
I didn't even know you moved in.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Get the hell out of here, you didn't.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
Just does that count?

Speaker 2 (15:26):
So you don't play pay attention to it like this?

Speaker 3 (15:28):
It's working right.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
Like when people are driving into London, do they look
up at Big Ben like, oh wow, there's the time.
I don't know that's a free standing clock for you.

Speaker 11 (15:39):
Yeah, Nate, Well, you know, if you look at your iPhone,
there is an analog clock on the clock, and it's
actually accurate.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
Either look at the little.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
App icon and that and then you see the second
hand moving it. Oh my god, oh yeah, look at that.
So it's like a clock clock.

Speaker 5 (15:59):
The icon for a clock app is a clock, and
you can see if you look closer, you could see
the second and ticking away.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
Look.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
Look, oh my god, you make that the way that
you tell time on your phone.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (16:11):
I think you can.

Speaker 13 (16:12):
And if you have an Apple Watch and you pick,
you can pick your face. You can pick analog clocks
as faces, so you can tell your time that way
on your Apple Watch if you want to.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Okay, well look at that. All right, there's our conversation.
We're done with analog clocks. Moving on. It's funny to
me how people there are some people that don't even
know how to read it. I don't know. That seems
so foreign and weird to me. I don't know, all right.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
I used to work with someone who said he couldn't
read a digital clock, and all of us are like, wait,
what how do you not read a digital clock? He's
We're going to do it.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
Let's see it says six dirt. It says six third,
six three nine. Well that means it's six thirty nine
to him.

Speaker 4 (16:52):
I don't understand this.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
It's so strange. All Danielle, where do you want to start?
What going on?

Speaker 3 (16:56):
Let's start with the MTVVD Music Award.

Speaker 13 (16:58):
Lady Gaga had the most nominations with twelve, walked away
last night with the most moon men. She won Artists
of the Year, Best Direction, Best Arc Direction, Best Collab
with Bruno Mars for Die with a Smile, and Bruno
actually earned a second trophy for apt with Rose was
honored Song of the Year, so congratulations there. A bust
of Rhymes got recognized with Rock the Bells Visionary Award,

(17:20):
the first ever Rock the Bells Award. Ricky Martin was
up there with the first ever MTV Latin Icon Award.
I mean, there's so many things we could talk about.
The Ozzy Osbourne tribute was amazing, and Young Wood is
so damn hot, it's insane.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
I know, you know what. That was quite a performance
from him. Yeah, really good.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (17:39):
Mariah Carey of course walking away with the Video Vanguard Award.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
She's like, hello, what took you so long?

Speaker 13 (17:44):
And my favorite was this morning watching the guys in
here drooling over Tate McCrae and Sabrina Carpenter's performances.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
Like the performances were brilliant.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Thankson, he was really appreciating the hotistry.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
Yeah, all right, let's move on. Let's talk about Lizzo.

Speaker 13 (18:02):
She says that there was no Song of the Summer
and the reason was social media.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
She said, we are.

Speaker 13 (18:08):
In this digital streaming age and there's no control over
the algorithm, and it is stressing people out, myself included.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
She said, every major artist has.

Speaker 13 (18:17):
Dropped albums this year, and yet everyone is saying there's
no Song of the Summer. It's not because the music
is incredible. It's because the way that the algorithm is
set up, nobody can serve the masses anymore.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
So this is how she's feeling.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
See what did you notice last night at the MTV
Video Music Awards, they had a category Song of the
Summer and it was this song by Ariana Grande.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
Yeah, which I've never heard, No, and we didn't play it.
I don't think Yeah, So I don't know, but.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Touch the Song of the Summer. We should. We would
play it if we had it.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
Somebody sent it.

Speaker 16 (18:50):
So.

Speaker 13 (18:50):
Target is going to open five hundred stores at midnight
for the October third release of the Life of a Showgirl.
Swifties will wait hours in line to be the first
to get their hands on physical copies of the album.
Target will offer three exclusive c D editions along with
the standard edition and vinyl variants, and there will be
a limit for per person. Nay, could you be any louder.
I'm trying to do my report, all right. Moving on, Also,

(19:17):
did you hear about Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez possibly
going on tour together? I did get out, Yes, so
you know that they were fighting for a while or
whatever exactly Well, now apparently they know who each other
is and it could be the ultimate divatur.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
It's not confirmed, but it could be happening. So of
course I'll keep you posted on that.

Speaker 13 (19:38):
The Conjuring Last Rights was number one of the box
office this past weekend, and Hamilton, the twenty twenty five
re release came in second.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
Weapons was third.

Speaker 13 (19:46):
And did you hear Cabaret on Broadway will be closing
earlier than we thought because Billy Putter is suffering from cespice.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
Now. His shock says, how does ay sepsis?

Speaker 2 (19:57):
Septis?

Speaker 3 (19:58):
Sorry? Sorry?

Speaker 13 (19:59):
His doctor says he will make a full recovery, thank goodness,
but it is serious. It's not something you know to
kid around about. So September twenty first is when the
show will close. Originally was supposed to close October nineteenth,
so that is happening. And also Charlie Dmilio, she took
her last bow with Aunt Juliet yesterday. She was originally
only supposed to be there eleven weeks, wound up being
there eleven months because everybody loved her so much. Football Tonight,

(20:22):
the Vikings, the Bears, You've got the quiz with balls,
the wedding Bank with Doctor Seuss's Redfish, Bluefish on Netflix.

Speaker 3 (20:28):
And that is my Daniel report.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
Excellent, Daniel, Thank you so much. Jennifer is a kindergarten teacher.
We're talking about teaching students how to tell analog time. Hey, Jennifer,
are you teaching your kids how to read a clock,
a round clock with arms and hands and things.

Speaker 17 (20:44):
Yes, we do, and we start off with on the
hour and then to the half hour, and then we
move it on to first grade. It's very confusing to kids,
that's for sure, because it's like, who even knows. They
don't even my clock in my classroom, honestly, is laying
down on my counter.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Oh God, are there other things that you're teaching them
that they're just not learning anymore? Like Roman numerals there's
another one. Does anyone know how to read Roman numerals?

Speaker 18 (21:19):
No?

Speaker 17 (21:20):
Roman Roman numerals is not used very often either. In
the first pages of our math books are Roman numerals,
not teaching them, just you know, like the beginning pages
of the book. So it's like, okay, well turn a
page one. Oh wait, that's letter V.

Speaker 10 (21:37):
That's one.

Speaker 5 (21:38):
Yeah, it's really crazy.

Speaker 17 (21:40):
And then the other thing is we're teaching coins and
we actually just have like an we had We are
all meeting together as a group of teachers talking about
the curriculum, and they're like, okay, well, let's we're going
to try to add coins to the kindergarten. And I'm like,
nobody even carries nobody even carries coins.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
That's the car in the middle of the console.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
What's that a little piece of metal with a dead
president on it? What is that exactly?

Speaker 17 (22:10):
Ginny, Yeah, it's it's just silly. It's silly. And the
thing is that they change the quarters like every.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
Month anyways, So that's yeah.

Speaker 17 (22:20):
I was okay, I argue, I argue, why do we
have these coins and why are we counting them? Because
nobody uses them?

Speaker 2 (22:27):
Right? I know the other day I had a nickel
and a penny in my pocket. At the end of
the day, I took you know, my money out. How
did I get this? What do I do with it.
You don't throw it away. It's money, you know, it's
like it's sakes sense. But what do you do with that?
I don't know anyway, I get it. So is there

(22:47):
anything else that we're teaching them? Cursive? How about can
they I guess kindergarten a little early for cursive. But
that's another thing. People can't write cursive anymore.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
Yeah, are they teaching that?

Speaker 4 (22:56):
Is cool?

Speaker 17 (22:58):
Yeah, they do teach that. They teach it in like
second and third grade.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
Wow, all right, I guess this is why do we
need to know so much? It takes too much room
in our brains? I guess I don't know. Well, look, Jennifer,
thank you for what you do.

Speaker 17 (23:11):
I teach the kids how to read, and that's all
that matters to me.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
Okay, you know what and that's yeah, that's that's the
one we can all agree in reading. All right, Look,
thank you for what you do, Jennifer. We love our
teachers and you have a great lead. Check it out.

Speaker 12 (23:24):
We're so appreciated and.

Speaker 10 (23:25):
I love you.

Show, Hey G Eating good over the weekend? What'd you eat?
It's a new segment on Monday morning, told me what
you eat? Any good? It has to stand out, like immediately,
what's that? I had a good bowlonnaise, okay, bollionnaise, Okay,
that's good. That good, bollionnaires good. I had a double

(24:15):
cut pork chop. Oh yeah, talk about it.

Speaker 5 (24:19):
It was in Nashville, and we went for some good
old cooking, Southern cooking, and they had they put it
in some kind of a pan what what do you
call those? The cast iron pans? And then we had
it was accompanied by so many wonderful things my friends,
Ate Scrapple, I mean, I mean all these all these
things that I didn't even realize that you could eat
that that were available to you. And they were called

(24:41):
different things. But anyway, it was so good. I had
a feast. I'll I will give you a list.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
We had a wacky, wacky mountain of chicken. Scarpar piello.
That's amazing. You know what. Some people call it scar piello,
but it's also pronounced scarpark piello.

Speaker 3 (24:58):
Scarpoper.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
Chickens. It was so good. A peach pie. You know,
we're saying goodbye to summer food, so peach pie's gonna
leave us. Corn's gonna leaveus probably in a couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
Oh, I had a baked potato soup which was really good.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Talk about it.

Speaker 13 (25:14):
The delict It was creamy and it was had lots
of bacon on the top of it and little chot Oh.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
Yeah, that was good.

Speaker 4 (25:21):
That was good.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
All right, Well, thanks for listening to our new segment.
What'd you eat? All right? What'd you drink anyone? What'd
you drink anyone?

Speaker 4 (25:32):
Last night?

Speaker 10 (25:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (25:33):
You went, you were out late? What did you do
last night?

Speaker 4 (25:36):
My friends actually just launched their company here in New York.
It's been on the West Coast for a very long time,
but they brought it here and they opened one of
their stores in Times Square and they're super excited. So
they had a launch party last night and whoa. Yeah,
I don't know why they picked a Sunday night.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
I was gonna say a launch party, yes.

Speaker 4 (25:53):
But congratulations to the guys from Jeter. I'm so excited
that they're here. I was so excited.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
There you go, friends doing great things. Yeah, we had
French martinis over the weekend. What's the difference between a
French martini and or regular martini? French martini has pineapple
juice and chambourg and vodka. I've never even heard of
that kind of kind of boogie. I only had two
of those.

Speaker 13 (26:14):
Jalapeno margarita, but it had cucumber in it as well.
It was kind of it was different. It did what
it needed to do, but it was.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
It was what was that specifically?

Speaker 1 (26:25):
You like to have a.

Speaker 13 (26:26):
Little kick, a little spice, so and it had that.
So I was like, but the cucumber kind of threw
me off.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
A little bit.

Speaker 6 (26:32):
I'm like, this is weird.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
How many did you have?

Speaker 6 (26:34):
I only had one.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
I was with my mom, so I had one.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
Don't made me sing my song? Scary scary. Why don't
you have that ready to go?

Speaker 4 (26:43):
Because scary doing over there one?

Speaker 2 (26:48):
Okay, here is Daniel trying to figure out how many
margaritas she should have.

Speaker 4 (26:53):
You ready, give me one margarita.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
I'm okay, I'm gonna put it, give me.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
Gimme. Oh my god, So Daniel, where did you put it?

Speaker 13 (27:12):
But I was having dinner with my mom and my
sister's mother in law, So.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Nowhere be really discreet. Yeah, so I'll just send a text.
And they had Alma pizza and bollionnaires and some limincello.
We were at Alma celebrating their ammiversary yesterday.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
It was so good. We ate a lot of food.
You know what. Okay, thanks for listening to our new
segment what'd you eat? What'd you drink? Nice? When are
we getting this thousand dollars free money? Phone tap on here?
I want to give away some money. About forty minutes
thirty five? Here we go.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
That is so stupid.

Speaker 8 (27:42):
Elvis Duran and the Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
The last time I checked, I'm running the.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
Show Elvis Duran and the Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
Well, a couple of sad stories here in New York City?
Are you for New York City Sad news? Another bit
we're doing on Monday mornings. Oh boy, okay, it looks
like well, the rumor has it, Tato Swift is going
to sell her huge her huge home in Tribeca. Oh,
the one that guy kept breaking into. Oh I guess
I had enough. Yeah, that's the rumor. It's I think

(28:13):
it actually has two buildings. If I'm not mistaken. She's
got she owns a lot. Weren't you weren't you neighbors
or something? At some point we were from a minute. Yeah. Anyway,
the rumor she's leaving doesn't one said story. Another said story,
us Open is over.

Speaker 4 (28:27):
Oh, Diamond will she made it over there?

Speaker 2 (28:30):
She made it get her in here? Are you serious, Diamond, Diamond?
You went to the Open. When'd you go?

Speaker 6 (28:37):
I went on Saturday? I saw the women's final.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
Oh she that was a great final.

Speaker 6 (28:43):
Uh yeah, but I wanted it to be longer. You know, someblanca.
She put belt to ass.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
Literally she put belt to ask.

Speaker 6 (28:50):
Yep, she gave us spanking.

Speaker 13 (28:53):
Okay, hey, did you spend money on any expensive food
or anything?

Speaker 6 (28:56):
Of the drinks?

Speaker 3 (28:57):
How much?

Speaker 8 (28:58):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (28:58):
Probably about the same drink like four times, so probably
one hundred and something dollars.

Speaker 4 (29:06):
But the drink is good.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
It better be good at that price. And so yesterday Alcarez,
of course he beat Center and uh that Alcarez, Well,
you know if I shave my head. Well I look
like that. Seriously try it.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
No, but the Drake curse continues because he talked about
he bet on Center Center lost. So whoever Drake bets
on typically lose.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
I hope you don't better.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Sinner woke up. He's like, wait, who did Drake? Who
did Drake? But me h, damn? All right, Well there's
our new segment, Sad Stories from New York City. There
you go. I don't know what else was going to
bring up. There's so much going on. Oh yeah, we're

(29:52):
still kind of buzzing about the MTV Video Music Awards.
Uh Llo, cool J. I love him, I just I
always will. He did a great jo.

Speaker 13 (30:00):
He's always cool, like no matter what, he's just always
gonna have that swag.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
Yeah that must be. Why is that why?

Speaker 4 (30:07):
N okay by birth birthname?

Speaker 2 (30:10):
Uh, there's a lot of stuff we have sound in
here from from Garrett and we're all talking about young Blood.
His performance when he came out to do the tribute
for Ozzy Osbourne. Yeah, there you go. That's a nice

(30:40):
tribute for Ozzie.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
Was great.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
Mariah Carey came out, did her thing.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
Thank you so much MTV for giving me the Van
got award.

Speaker 8 (30:51):
I can't believe I'm getting my first VMA tonight.

Speaker 6 (30:55):
I just have one question, what in the same.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
Hell were you.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
Love her? Lady Gaga? Unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (31:06):
So my partner in all things, Michael.

Speaker 16 (31:12):
Creating this year with you was a beautiful, beautiful dream,
and you have been my partner every step of the way.

Speaker 4 (31:19):
I dedicate this to you, to my love.

Speaker 16 (31:21):
I wish I could stay and watch all these amazing performances,
but I have to go back to Madison Square Garden.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
Yeah, and then they she booked it, she booked for
the garden. She had to get back to her show.
Our friend Lee Schrager saw Lady Gaga the other night.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (31:36):
I think I think he watched her tape the VMA performance,
and I think they had to do it like three
or four times and the audience sat through it each time.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
Why not? What a great song? That's just great. Also,
a lot of people love seeing Ricky Martin. He won
an award last night as well. Uh it was the
name of it was the Latin It's the very first
year that did it Latin Award Vanguard. I don't know

(32:08):
or something, but he's fifty something years old.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
Yes, he looks for going.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
Damn good, give me a couple of lives scary? Oh
you want to play that quick? You want to do
living live in Levina Loca? Or which one? Just pull

(32:32):
one up? We need something.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
It was the last award, by the way, hit the
first ever.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
That's so cool, the first year, next year, bad Bunny
gotta get there.

Speaker 4 (32:41):
And our buddy Andrew. He also watched that Lady Gaga
concert and the recording of the Oh he did?

Speaker 2 (32:46):
Yeah, yeah, God? How did you get tickets for that?

Speaker 4 (32:49):
I hear he got them from you?

Speaker 2 (32:51):
Oh that's right, incredible. Is he here yet? Is he?
Is he in the stairs? And come here, Andrew, come
here and thanks me?

Speaker 5 (33:05):
Trying to get these?

Speaker 2 (33:08):
Hey hey, hey, hey, stop being so bitter? Why is
there one so mad? Why is everyone so mean and mad?
Can't you be happy for Andrew?

Speaker 5 (33:18):
Because Elvis gave you those tickets.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
And there's a reason because this would have happened. It
was the best concert I think of all time. I
went with coaster boy Josh. It was when he when's
he coming in to say? Thank you? Thank you? Doesn't
even cover how amazing that show was. Thank you so much.

(33:43):
You're welcome. Okay, so you you know you're my favorite,
and this proved it. You said weeks ago you had
tickets and then you somehow couldn't make it. I'm like, okay,
I'm not gonna ask him because that seems that wasn't
these tickets. These are their tickets. I think this was
a birthday It was a birthday gift, was it not?
It was a birthday gift. I hope you feel bad

(34:04):
about it. A birthday gift from you. Oh God, stop
the bitter, My god, can you be happy for someone else,
just for a minute, now that.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
You know it's a birthday gift?

Speaker 6 (34:13):
Back?

Speaker 4 (34:13):
Go you have a wallet, you can buy tickets.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
I know I can't, but it's much better to get
Elvis tickets for free.

Speaker 5 (34:18):
I'm sure these were great seats too.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
I was second row.

Speaker 3 (34:26):
Pictures.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
Oh, I will sell the pictures, video the pictures. The
pictures didn't come out too great because they're too close.
Maybe fourth or fifth row, I don't know. Second Okay,
I tell you what we're gonna play, Ricky. I'll play you.
In a minute, I'll play I'll play some Gaga. What
was your favorite performance at Gaga's show Abra Cadabra was

(34:49):
in scene like it was one of the second or
third songs that by the end of the first she
doesn't like five acts, but the end of the first act,
I was like exhausted. I was like, I don't know
how I'm going to get through this whole show. Give me,
give me old school Gaga that you really love change,
just love, loved gang so good, so freaking good. I
saw her in two thousand and nine at Terminal five.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
See here we go.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
I don't blame you, I don't blame it. I remember, God,
she used to play little clubs here and there, you know,
and uh that that jingle ball. She was the first
performer when people were still coming into the garden and
half the garden was still empty because they're insecurity getting in.
She was the first act that we just threw out
on stage. We needed someone to sing wow. And I
remember I saw her backstage. She looked at me, she said,

(35:33):
I'm gonna I'm gonna be on your show one day.
I went, oh, great, who is that.

Speaker 13 (35:37):
Do you remember those eyelashes she had on? All I
can remember is her walking on those big damn eyelashes.

Speaker 3 (35:42):
They were so huge.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
Yeah, it was insane. Alijandro was great too. You could
stop anytime. And jealousy Nate you that you know you
don't wear that that bitterness very well.

Speaker 11 (35:55):
I don't at all.

Speaker 2 (35:59):
Well, all right, I'll give you a love game. Thank
you for you. My favorite there's Andrew. You want to
go again next time? Absolutely? There you go. I mean
who doesn't want to take a ride on your disco stick?
I mean who really? Also? And I agree with this Texter.
Another favorite moment from the MTV Video Music Awards. Loved
watching Alex Warren win Best New Artist, Alex's proud wife

(36:22):
tearing up in the background. His performance was chillingly good.
My absolute favorite. I remember when Alex Warren came in
to see us, the nicest guy. You just you just
want the nice guys to in and he did last night,
and that was That was a great moment as well.
A lot of great moments on the MTV Video Music Awards.
And I gotta be honest with you, I can't recall
an MTV Video Music Awards show as great as last

Speaker 13 (37:09):

Speaker 3 (37:13):
And on?

Speaker 2 (37:15):
Yeah, I don't know. I know Lee Schrager wants to
do an opening number.

Speaker 5 (37:19):

Speaker 2 (37:22):

Speaker 5 (37:24):

House of Pain. But I mean I want you to
break out some old school beastie boys, or I'll do Biggie.
I could do Biggie.

Speaker 2 (37:32):

Speaker 4 (40:02):
President Trump is again vowing to clean up Chicago, but
called it fake news when asked by a reporter on
Sunday if he was actually going to war with the city.
The exchange came as protests were held over the weekend
against Trump's repeated threats to deploy federal troops to Chicago.
He posted on social media on Saturday, Chicago is about
to find out why it's called the Department of War.
Trump has also said he's considering sending troops to New

Speaker 7 (41:34):
I usually get the Promax, okay, but the one I
have and get like eight hundred bucks for it.

Speaker 2 (41:39):

Speaker 7 (41:47):

year's phone. Could be the iPhone fold where it will
turn into like open up into like two almost.

Speaker 3 (41:55):
It's a transformer.

sinner they get in the more point.

Speaker 2 (42:02):

be you know, you can drop it from so many
feet and I don't know.

Speaker 18 (46:04):
I'm good. I'm just kind of getting all my you know,
last minute stuff going. I'm, you know, making my own
cupcakes for this thing. So I've got like hunerd cupcakes
to make this week. It's gonna be insane when it'll be.

Speaker 15 (46:14):
When are you thinking of doing that? Because I can
probably help you, like Tuesday, Wednesday. I'm oh no, I'm
gonna make them so they're fresh.

Speaker 18 (46:21):
I'm going to do like Thursday afternoon, probably Friday morning,
and then we have you know, rehearsal dinner Friday night.
So can you come by Thursday then like afternoon, I'll
get all the ingredients and stuff.

Speaker 15 (46:32):
Thursday I'm not gonna be available because I have to go.
I have to go into my doctor. I've been trying
to get this appointment for months and months and months,
and I'm finally get in this appointment for Thursday. I
have to go to a hospital on Thursday.

Speaker 14 (46:44):
It's not good.

Speaker 1 (46:45):
What's going on?

Speaker 15 (46:46):
Are you okay?

Speaker 9 (46:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 15 (46:47):
No, No, everything's fine. I'm just it's on. I'm just
getting I'm actually just getting my boobs done, which I've
been trying to get done for a long time. And
I just disappointment up of up on Thursday time.

Speaker 18 (46:57):
And so you're getting your boobs done two days before
my wedding. How do you think that that's gonna work out?

Speaker 15 (47:03):
What do you mean?

Speaker 18 (47:04):
Well, I'm getting married on Saturday and you're getting your
booth done on Thursday, and could you have not take
a different week to do this?

Speaker 15 (47:12):
Yeah, but it only takes like a couple hours. And
I'll be fine. I'm gonna I'm gonna be on meds.
I'll be totally fine.

Speaker 18 (47:20):
But I'm sorry to be like this, but it's my week.
It's my wedding, and your man made of honor.

Speaker 15 (47:24):
Okay, Oh my god, I'm gonna be there for you.
It's just this is something I've always wanted to do,
and the only appointment I could get was on Thursday.
So what am I supposed to do? Put everything on?

Speaker 18 (47:35):
You're gonna you're gonna show up at my How are you?

Speaker 14 (47:37):
How are you even gonna sit in the dress.

Speaker 15 (47:39):
Damn, I already thought about that. You don't have to
worry about anything because I knew that I was on
the waiting list to get this done. So I love
the dress week picked, and I found something almost completely
identical to it online. I was actually doing some research.
The only the length is a little bit different from
the one that that we have got.

Speaker 14 (47:57):
Kidding, you could not have done this next week. This
is my wedding day.

Speaker 18 (48:01):
You're gonna walk up there in some dress of your
boobs falling out all over right next to my O're.

Speaker 15 (48:05):
Not gonna be falling.

Speaker 14 (48:06):
I'm gonna be looking at you.

Speaker 15 (48:08):
It's a little bit shorter, and I got it fitted
to fit because I'm going up to it.

Speaker 18 (48:12):
Wait, it's a little bit shorter.

Speaker 14 (48:14):
I didn't pick that for you, Megan.

Speaker 15 (48:16):
This is my weekend, Sam, Okay, I think you can't
right now. It's gonna fit my d cups beautifully, and
you're getting beautiful. It's gonna add to the beauty of
your wedding. I don't see what you're so concerned about.

Speaker 14 (48:29):
You know that this is so typical of you. You
could not have chosen any other week out of.

Speaker 15 (48:33):
The year, I was on a waiting list, and then
Mike call came up. I really like, I don't see
why you're attacking me personally because I want to do
something special for myself that I've been waiting to you
for a long time, and your time to be special.

Speaker 18 (48:44):
What if you are the one getting married and I
was doing something like this to you, how would you feel?
Are you planning on drinking at my wedding too?

Speaker 15 (48:51):
Would have I never not drunk at a wedding. I mean,
come on, exactly, that's great.

Speaker 18 (48:55):
And then you're just gonna be hitting on everybody at
my wedding like you always do, but work, because you're
gonna be up on medication and drunk boobs. That's what
I have to worry about on my day because that's
something you would do, because you want to stand up
there and take all the attention aways. And I know
we prayed for booths together when you're little, and I
got them and you didn't got bless you.

Speaker 14 (49:12):
Sometimes it's a good thing to care for your best friend,
and I want to be there for her because she's
really gotten nervous and have to make six hundred cupcakes
this week and really.

Speaker 18 (49:20):
Wanted you to be there because you've heard me under
the Knights and I and I'm Samantha.

Speaker 19 (49:27):
Is this My name is Gare from Elvis during in
the Morning show and you just got phone tapped.

Speaker 18 (49:35):
Oh good mother, are you kidding me?

Speaker 2 (49:36):
No joke.

Speaker 18 (49:38):
So, Megan, you decided to doone drop me the week
on my wedding.

Speaker 10 (49:42):
Yes, I did.

Speaker 14 (49:44):
You're such a bitch.

Speaker 2 (49:48):

giving in all to you.

Speaker 18 (50:06):

Speaker 17 (50:06):
Wow, I'm a thousand dollars richer.

Speaker 4 (50:08):
Yeah you are.

Speaker 2 (50:09):
Give to you, Wendy. Congratulations and thank you for listening.
You listen every day every day.

Speaker 17 (50:14):
And since you don't want to know how old I am,
but I was born in the early fifties and I'm
still listening.

Speaker 2 (50:20):
So I'm all, my gosh, guys, I know that Nate
said they don't name people Wendy anymore. And then I'm like, well,
we don't, and are you happy that it's exclusively yours?
And then most of others are dead night.

Speaker 17 (50:36):
I know, I hope please.

Speaker 4 (50:37):
And I have a twin sister.

Is Elvist around?

Speaker 4 (52:12):
That man is a babe in.

Speaker 1 (52:14):
The morning show?

Speaker 2 (52:16):
Daniel hanging out with your mom over the weekend? Yes,
did you really? Did you really send this text to
your mom?

Speaker 3 (52:22):
Huh?

Speaker 2 (52:23):
So, Danielle, may I read what you wrote me?

Speaker 19 (52:25):
Yep?

Speaker 2 (52:25):
She said, Hey, Elvis, help me out with this.

Speaker 19 (52:28):
This is this?

Speaker 2 (52:28):
What ever happened to you?

Speaker 10 (52:29):
So?

Speaker 2 (52:30):
Daniel says, I meant to text my mom that I
was ready for a cocktail, but only half the word
went through.

Speaker 3 (52:39):
They wanted me to go out to dinner. I originally
I didn't want to go out to dinner, and then
I kind of woke myself up and got into the mood.

Speaker 4 (52:45):
I was like, yeah, you know what I'm gonna go.

Speaker 3 (52:47):
And then I was like, Mom, I'm ready for a cocktail.

Speaker 13 (52:50):
And then it took me a minute to realize that
only half the word went through.

Speaker 2 (52:54):
And you got the right tail.

Speaker 3 (52:56):
Yeah, And I looked down and I go, oh, my gosh.
And then I panicked. I was like, this can't go
through to mine.

Speaker 2 (53:02):
What you do?

Speaker 13 (53:03):
I try to get it back, I try to edit it,
you know, everything was she didn't even see it.

Speaker 4 (53:06):
You should be able to uncend it.

Speaker 3 (53:08):
It was too late by the time. I yeah, yeah,
but she need it.

Speaker 13 (53:12):
Yeah, she didn't see it. And she goes and then
when I told her what I did, she started cracking up.

Speaker 17 (53:15):
Oh, that's so funny, Dan, And that's so funny.

Speaker 13 (53:21):
The panic in my face was like, I just said,
my mom, that word what.

Speaker 2 (53:26):
She's seen one?

Speaker 3 (53:28):
And what is she going have said when she says that?

Speaker 13 (53:33):
I said, I'm ready for that. Like my mom, she's
so innocent. She she won't think the other words. You
won't think cocktails.

Speaker 2 (53:40):
You know I would do if you sent me a text,
say you need to go out and get it, yeah,
one of those. I would be your wing man. Have
you get one?

Speaker 1 (53:47):
Can you imagine she texted back of.

Speaker 2 (53:49):
Me too, Yeah, oh my god mother and daughter, mother
and daughter tag team. Hey, uh so a beautiful, beautiful
day yesterday. We were all sitting outside at our friends.
Our friend's restaurant Ama and just eating and drinking and
just talking and laughing. It was just one of those
great days, right And at one point I stopped and

(54:10):
I kind of backed up from the circle around the
table and just looked to my left and right at
all my friends getting along with each other, and you know,
some friends I introduced to other friends, and they were
all laughing and getting to know each other. And do
you ever have those moments You're like, wow, I wish
I could live this moment every day for the rest
of my life. It was just a great, great day,

(54:30):
and I can't really define what made it so great.
It was just everything.

Speaker 4 (54:34):
I'm glad you took a minute to enjoy that. I
feel like we just let those moments go by without
stopping and being like, wow, this is a good moment.
Good for you.

Speaker 2 (54:43):
My friends Matt and Josh, they brought their dog Bari
over and he played with our dogs, and we took
Barri to the restaurant. He was curled up next to
us on the ground, you know, because we're outside, and
it was just you know, everyone's coming to pat him
and kids were laughing and dancing with their parents, you know,
in the middle of the it's just one of those days.
I don't know. Oh, I want another one today. I
may force one to happen fun because it's a beautiful day.

Speaker 18 (55:05):
Hey.

Speaker 2 (55:06):
And another thing that happened is someone who listens to
a show came over and said, I gotta tell you
what I like about your show, Elvis. I said, what's that?
It sounds like you guys actually do like each other.

Speaker 8 (55:14):
Ah, we've got.

Speaker 2 (55:22):
You know, but we do. And I put that into
thought as well. I'm like, well, you know what, look
at what we get to do. I know, we do
have our days, you know, we have our moments, but
that's to be expected, exactly, considering this show has been
on the air for what thirty years, I mean almost
with a lot of us, and I don't know.

Speaker 3 (55:42):
It is you would think we'd have more days like that,
but we don't.

Speaker 13 (55:46):
Like it's actually not as many as you would think
when we don't get along or we have an is.

Speaker 5 (55:50):
Yeah, it happened, and it's normally not like that in
this industry at all.

Speaker 2 (55:55):
I know, and you know, and we can be skating
along having the best day, and here it comes down
in a bad mood. She always she's always pissed off.
That laughter is laugh not laughter, that's hate hit anyway, No,
we do. We do have a great job here, and
we we do like each other and anyway, so I

(56:16):
just want to stop down to each and every one
of you. Let's have it just a moment. I love you, guys,
and thank you, thank you. No really, I mean well,
it's just you know, thank thank you, thank you for
coming to the show and coming to the party every day.
Shere is nice. I will say that you made a
note to me, gandhi. We were just making notes about
things we could talk about today, and you say, listen

(56:37):
to this, guys before we go around the room. Japanese
scientists have found a way to erase memories. Yes, oh
h do you know just in a nutshell what they do.

Speaker 4 (56:51):
Yeah, apparently they use optogenics and blue light to shrink
a part of the brain that stores memories. So they
been able to sort of minimize and then eventually just
delete the memories altogether.

Speaker 2 (57:05):
Oh so all memories. They can't pinpoint like one memory, Oh.

Speaker 4 (57:08):
No, no, no, they can pinpoint certain things like when
somebody's going through PTSD. They can zoom in on the
brain see which parks are lighting up and they can
go in and do that.

Speaker 2 (57:17):
My god, it was like men in black.

Speaker 4 (57:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (57:20):
Okay, well, so question would you do that? I mean,
it's easy just to answer, but you think about it.
Do you want to race memory? Keep in mind, it
doesn't erase what happened. It erases the fact that you
knew it happened, and I just don't know it never happened.
You just think about something that happened in your life, good, bad, whatever,

(57:42):
and it's just gone. Yeah. Now Nate can actually talk
about this because this happens to him. Yeah, because of
his strokes. Yeah. There. I mean, you don't know what
you don't know because you don't know it anymore. I mean,
it's if you think that concept through, it's kind of interesting. Correct.

Speaker 11 (57:57):
With the two strokes, I had a couple of things.
Luckily I didn't lose any sort of physical mobility, But
memory and my ringing in my ears, those are the
two things. And so there will be moments where I'm
being told a story about something that happened in my
past that I have no memory of zero, and somebody

(58:18):
will tell me exactly what happened, tell me I was there,
and I have no memory of it. So there's things
going forward in my life where I encounter them and
I'm thinking to myself, do I not know this? Or
did I know this and I no longer know it?

Speaker 2 (58:34):
Wow? That kind of freaks with you a little bit. Yeah,
so it really does kind of mess with your head.
But unfortunately there are things that I remember that I
wish I didn't.

Speaker 4 (58:44):
Remember to Japan exact.

Speaker 2 (58:48):
Yeah, So man, well, I'm okay before I get my thoughts,
your thoughts, Gandhi. Would you want the ability to erase
a memory?

Speaker 4 (58:57):
I wouldn't want to erase and experience like what happened
and what I learned from things. No, I wouldn't want
to erase that. But there are certain parts of memories
that I wish I didn't have in my head. Does
that make sense?

Speaker 2 (59:11):
Well, will give it us an example.

Speaker 4 (59:13):
I mean, it's so, you know, my boyfriend passed away, right,
I wish I hadn't seen part of what I saw. Like,
I'm okay with knowing what happened. I wouldn't erase the
memory of him or anything like that, but I would
erase part of what I saw.

Speaker 2 (59:27):
Okay, Okay, So how would your life be different or
how would your memories of him be different. If those
memories were gone.

Speaker 4 (59:33):
It wouldn't haunt me. I think, like in my sleep sometimes,
you know, you just see things and you're like, oh God,
why I could do without that?

Speaker 2 (59:41):
Yep, do you think that sometimes? And I guess I'll
get to my point now that but I want to
anyone to chime in. We need those memories, as awful
and graphic and crappy as they are. You need those
for a reason to balance out everything else and make
it make more sense.

Speaker 1 (59:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (59:59):
So I think think about that, and I'm like, I
don't know, I don't know, and that in that case,
I don't know. I think I could do without it
and still be Okay, I'll never know, and I'm not
going to go get things a race, but okay.

Speaker 2 (01:00:14):
Think of this. You're you're in the waiting room in
your Japanese memory erase center, right, and I'm trying to
think of a memory. I'm just like, let you know
what it would be. Something that was one of the
most awful. Okay, my cat. Okay, this is a simple one.
My cat kitty had her for twenty years, right, the

(01:00:35):
best cat in the world. My best friend and I
had to be there in the room and they had
to let her go right they administered the shot and
she just died right in front of me, and wow,
that was years ago and it still affects me. So
I would ask the Japanese doctor like, can you make

(01:00:56):
that memory go away? And then I would I would
play it through my head one more time and then
let it go. Does that make sense?

Speaker 5 (01:01:07):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:01:08):
I would go ahead and grieve that one more time
and go, Okay, I gotta let it go. I don't
know if I want to do that. Okay, what do
you think Frog was?

Speaker 7 (01:01:19):
You know? Five weeks ago yesterday, I walked in on
the most horrific thing I've ever seen in my whole life.
I went for a thirty minute walk, came back home,
and Rocky, nine years old, I found him dead in
the floor. I would never want the memory of him
or anything that all the great things I shared about
him and with him in so many wonderful things, because

(01:01:39):
he really was the greatest dog ever. I would like
to have that image that I have in my mind
when I looked over the side of the sofa and
I saw him. That's my last image I have of him. Unfortunately,
and I keep seeing it all the time in my
house when I'm there, I see it every day.

Speaker 2 (01:01:55):
Still.

Speaker 7 (01:01:56):
I would love to have that erased, but not at
the risk of losing anything else that I have with him,
because he was so amazing and so wonderful.

Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
Yeah, and so let me ask you this, Let me
ask you this, th frog. If they could pinpoint at
and erase that memory of seeing his lifeless body on
your floor, you remember all the great things about him,
didn't with someone to go, well, what happened? What happened
to him? Where is he you? I'm like, I don't know.
I don't know what happened because that memory's gone. I

(01:02:27):
just want that image. I just want that image of
race what I saw that day I got looked over
the couch. That's it.

Speaker 7 (01:02:34):
I want to remember him and all the things that
happened and everything else, but just that image. And I
know that that's really specific.

Speaker 4 (01:02:39):
But you ask yeah, I think though, like to your point, Elvis,
if it's a package deal, no, I'll take you. I'll
take the horrific thing that I had to endure to
keep the memories of all the beautiful stuff right. But
if I could go in and just one little thing
out okay, cool, but again not at the risk of
losing the.

Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
Rest of it. How about erasing the memory of Gray
Tea pooping on the floor. No, no, we need that.

Speaker 4 (01:03:07):
Forever.

Speaker 2 (01:03:08):
I'm gonna sit that one. What's up.

Speaker 5 (01:03:12):
I think if it's an event that is preventing you
from moving on, and like, for instance, t's say you
get into a god big get into an awful car accident,
and now you don't you can't drive again, I think
a memory like that should be obliterated by this Japanese
doctor because to this way, you could drive again, so
you could move on. If it's if there's something preventing
you from moving on, I think that that should be

(01:03:33):
the thing to consider, to just have zapped out of
your memory.

Speaker 11 (01:03:37):
That's so, the more you're talking about this having memories
erased and having gone through it, not by choice having
memories erased, I can say that I don't want any
memory erased. Even when I joked about having the bad
things removed. It's it's a weird feeling when you are
told something that happened to you and you have no

(01:03:58):
memory of it, because all of that made you who
you are, and even the bad things that happened in
my life that I've forgotten. I kind of wish I
knew what I've felt in those moments.

Speaker 13 (01:04:11):
I think there's a couple of things that we always
remind you of that I think you'd like to hear.

Speaker 11 (01:04:15):
Well, yeah, but that made me who I am. You
know what I'm saying. Yeah, all of that made me
who I am. So when it's just taken from you
without your choice, it's kind of a scary thing.

Speaker 2 (01:04:26):
Yeah, the next time I remind you, don't yell at me.

Speaker 11 (01:04:28):
Shut up, Froggy. I know exactly what you're talking about,
and that one is still there.

Speaker 4 (01:04:32):
Well, memory is a gift. It is a gift because
I mean, look what happens when we start to lose it.

Speaker 3 (01:04:36):
Nobody at Alzheimer's.

Speaker 2 (01:04:38):
Yeah, you know, of course you bring up Stephen Colbert's
name and people immediately start thinking, well, not a fan
or a fan. But he did say that one thing
one time about grieving. Remember what he said and how
to accept loss. He says he learned to be grateful
for all of life, including the suffering, as a path

(01:04:59):
to being more fully human, Meaning if you're going to
accept the great things that come to you in life,
you also have to accept and love the awful things
and the suffering that come to you as well, Yes,
because you can't have one without the other. And I
thought that was just very very deep. Definitely, you have
to accept loss and learn to be grateful for all

(01:05:21):
of life, including suffering, as a path to being more
fully human. So maybe that's, you know, before you sit
in the waiting room to have your memories snapped out
of your head, something to think about.

Speaker 3 (01:05:31):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 4 (01:05:32):
I saw something very similar to that and it said
grief is the price we pay for love. And I
was like, oh, yeah it is. You have something so
amazing and it's not gonna last forever, so you know,
going into whatever this thing is, this big, amazing love,
at some point there will be grief.

Speaker 2 (01:05:48):
Yep. Hey, so do this. Pick up the phone right now,
text someone you love or maybe you know, when you
have a moment you can call them and go, hey,
just thinking about you, you know, because one day you
won't be able to do that. Maybe, yeah, yeah, especially
if you're dead.

Speaker 4 (01:06:06):
Can I tell you whenever I do this, when we
have these conversations and I pick up my phone, I
text my sister. She's like, oh my God, what's wrong?

Speaker 2 (01:06:11):
Are you okay? Exactly? What's happening to me? I'm not
saying I'm going to die to a but I'm going
to eventually, I mean die before you. So I just
want to pick the phone and say I love you.

Speaker 6 (01:06:18):
I just want to tell you I love you.

Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
Jeez, there you go. We're going to do around the
room in a few seconds. Also some sound with Garrett
on the way, and of the three things we need
to know from Gandhi, Gandhi, what's going.

Speaker 6 (01:06:28):
On all right?

Speaker 4 (01:06:29):
The Justice Department has asked a federal judge overseeing the
Jeffrey Epstein case to deny a request from NBC News
to unseal the names of two associates who received large
payments from Epstein back in twenty eighteen. Court documents show
the Justice Department cited privacy concerns as the reason for
not making their names public. One of them received one
hundred thousand dollars payment from Epstein and the other person

(01:06:51):
got two hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Both are potentially
co conspirators, according to the prosecutors in the Florida case.
As part of the FLEA agreement, federal prossecututers in Florida
agreed not to prosecute the two former Epstein associates. So
everybody wants the names, and they're being a little tight
left about it. All right, what do you guys think
of this? Malt Sinai, one of Egypt's most sacred places,

(01:07:14):
may become the site of a mega resort. This site is,
oh yeah, It is revered by Muslims, Christians and Jews alike.
It's known in the Bible for where God gave Moses
the Ten Commandments. The sixth century Saint Catherine's Monastery, run
by the Greek Orthodox Church, is also there. The problem,
a UNESCO World Heritage Site comprising the monastery, town and

(01:07:36):
mountain is now under construction to make way for luxury hotels,
villas and shopping bazaars.

Speaker 2 (01:07:43):
The vedice they should do sin and they should build
a hospital.

Speaker 4 (01:07:47):
It's all of us. People are really upset. The Bedouin
community has been kicked out of their home. Now Greece
is fighting the project. Egypt did green light it because
they want to boot out the monastery. This one is
causing a ton of contravary. We'll see how it all
plays out. And finally there were two winning tickets sold
in the nearly one point eight billion dollar powerball jackpot

(01:08:07):
that They were sold in Missouri and Texas. They matched
all six numbers and saturdays drawing. Both states allow lottery
winners to remain anonymous. Two tickets sold in Kansas and
Texas won two million dollars, and eighteen tickets sold across
thirteen states all took home a million bucks. This was
the second biggest jackpot in powerball history. And those are
your three things.

Speaker 1 (01:08:30):
Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (01:08:32):

Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (01:08:53):
Awesome, great sound with Garrett on the way, hang on,
I want to go around the room steep. It's on
the mind of people in the room. And by the way,
speaking of this around the room thing we do every day,
which it's my one of my favorite moments every single day.
At lunch yesterday I met Cindy Goldstein who listens to
our show every day. Hi Cindy. She's like, I got
a question. How come you don't have it around the
room when they do? And I said, because I talk
all day. I'm like, this gives everyone an opportunity to

(01:09:16):
say something, and it makes me I shut the hell up.
Let people talk because you know me, I talk a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:09:23):
So your name is Onto Programs.

Speaker 4 (01:09:25):
Yeah, and I know what you're thinking.

Speaker 2 (01:09:28):
Well, I know, I just we just we talked about
I talk about things all morning. So that's my around
the room. And so so I'm not saying that this
is the segment where this is the only time you're
allowed to talk.

Speaker 4 (01:09:38):
Well, that's what it feels like.

Speaker 2 (01:09:41):
Okay, we need to work through this. So there you go, Cindy.
It was a pleasure meeting Cindy yesterday. Let's go around
the room so everyone else can talk. Wow. I'll just
sit back here and go, oh right, that's great. Mm hmm.
Danielle will start with you. What's going on?

Speaker 3 (01:09:55):
All right?

Speaker 13 (01:09:55):
So you know, I was raising money for the Buddy Walk,
which is something that we do every year with the
National Down Syndrome Society. And we went for the walk
in Central Park and in Times Square, and you know,
my nephew Lucas has his special extra chromosome and he's
just adorable. So I just wanted to say thank you
to everybody that came out to be part of it.

(01:10:16):
We had the most amazing time everybody that donated. We
raised a lot of money. And what they do for
the Down Syndrome Society and Down people with Down syndrome,
it's just incredible, you know, breaking stigmas, giving them things
that they need that they couldn't get. And I posted
a bunch of pictures of my nephew and everybody's like,
he's so cute. My sister just put up for real

(01:10:37):
and it's like you could see how cute this kid is.

Speaker 3 (01:10:40):
I'm gonna repost her reel because.

Speaker 13 (01:10:42):
He is just the cutest thing ever. And we love
you with Lucas, and thank you to all.

Speaker 3 (01:10:47):
We made so many new friends when.

Speaker 13 (01:10:48):
We were out there stuff and so many old ones.
So thank you for to everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:10:51):
Congratulations, job roll done. Thanks uh Nate. What's going on
with you?

Speaker 11 (01:10:57):
Do you need a good confidence boost? Do you want
to make yourself feel better about everything? Do you think
we should all be more cocksure? Yes, cocksure and this
is a good thing and I'm gonna tell you, you want
to be more cocksure, do a project around the house.

Speaker 2 (01:11:12):
I hung my own.

Speaker 11 (01:11:13):
TV over the weekend, and now I feel like I
can conquer anything.

Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
Yeah, going down.

Speaker 11 (01:11:20):
It's dead balls level, as they say, and.

Speaker 2 (01:11:23):
I hold on what they say that? Yes, dead Ball's level.
You've never heard that? No, no, no, this is like
a name of a band that opens up for nine
inch nails.

Speaker 11 (01:11:32):
Yeah, but anyway, do something that you would have normally
paid somebody to do.

Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
You can learn how to do this on YouTube. You can.

Speaker 11 (01:11:40):
There's a number of tutorials to do a home project.
You're gonna feel so much better and accomplish about yourself
if you do so.

Speaker 2 (01:11:46):
So trust me on that one. All right, congratulations, thank you.
What's it called the ball Ball's level? Dead Ball's level?
I don't know who came up with that, but I've
usually I think you make this stuff up. I did
not scary. What's up with you?

Speaker 17 (01:12:01):
You know?

Speaker 5 (01:12:01):
Els, you always talk about having things on your calendar,
and it's always important to look forward to something always always,
you know, I have a core group of friends, most
of which i've known since middle school, and we'd usually
do our like mancations, usually to another baseball stadium around
the country.

Speaker 2 (01:12:16):
We've been doing this vacation. Yeah, we do man cation,
all men, all the boys. We go away.

Speaker 5 (01:12:21):
But we've seen pretty much every baseball stadium in America now.
So now we said, let's start doing concerts around the world.
Or so we decided to go see nine Inch Nails
in Nashville. And I was sitting there across from my
friends and we were having an awesome brunch and I'm like,
you know what, this is what it's about. Were I
was living in the moment. None of us had our
phones out, and I was like, and we were sitting

(01:12:43):
there planning our next one. Everyone needs to have this
on their calendar to do something with their old friends,
because you know, we get right back into that groove
of you know when we were like fourteen years old.
I know it's you laugh about it, but you know
it makes us feel good, right and we we love it.
And thank you to all the wives that let their

(01:13:04):
husbands out of their cages this weekend so they could
join me.

Speaker 6 (01:13:06):
There.

Speaker 2 (01:13:09):
People married with kiddies, Yeah, they got to go out.
And are these the same friends you knew as in
your childhood that you used used to do measuring sessions with.

Speaker 5 (01:13:19):
Yeah, no, no, not these guys that those are the
kids that group on my block. I don't know them anymore.
This is someone that are my friends from school, from
middle school.

Speaker 2 (01:13:28):
I can't believe that you admitted that to us.

Speaker 6 (01:13:30):
That was.

Speaker 2 (01:13:33):
Well, it just seems now we used to have measures,
Now we have brunch.

Speaker 3 (01:13:37):
Touch myself, Tony and all those people.

Speaker 2 (01:13:39):
No, no, these guys don't have nicknames. No girthy Gary, No, no,
that's my home friend. Okay, Froggy. What's it's long, Larry? Lengthy,
lengthy Larry. You know we are white.

Speaker 7 (01:13:53):
Two weeks into college football, one week into the NFL,
and I refuse to let football rule my.

Speaker 2 (01:13:58):
Life this year.

Speaker 7 (01:14:00):
Sounds like you're doing it as just thru in my
first two weeks, however, I did realize that, like yesterday,
I went to watch the Jaguars played the Carolina Panthers,
and I was able to enjoy the game because they're
not my favorite team. I do want the Jaguars to win.
Living here in Jacksonville, so I like the home team
to win. But I have much more. I can enjoy
football so much more when I don't have a team
in the game. Last night, I watched the Bills Ravens game.

(01:14:22):
It was an amazing ending. They scored sixteen unanswered points
in the fourth quarter. I'm telling you the key is
to find a team that you don't love watching those games,
and it.

Speaker 2 (01:14:31):
Causes much less stress. That's the key to football. We'll
let us know. You don't let us know how this
season works out for you. I can't see the vase
on your neck. Are still protruded? Weekend freaking Gators sucked?

Speaker 7 (01:14:47):
They lost the USF and then the Buccaneers yesterday made
life tough.

Speaker 2 (01:14:50):
I just I don't get it, Foggy. I got a
question for you, since you do a lot of DIY
around the house, Nate said when he hanged or hung
that TV on his wall hung, he said it was
dead balls level. Baby. See, people are texting him saying
it's dead nuts level, dead nut level? Really nut your ball?
Is it nut your balls? I looked it up and

(01:15:13):
it says dead nuts. Is that? I don't know? I
don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:15:18):
And why do you want your nuts at your balls?

Speaker 12 (01:15:20):
Dead?

Speaker 3 (01:15:20):
Anyway?

Speaker 4 (01:15:20):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (01:15:21):
I heard dead nuts?

Speaker 4 (01:15:22):
Really, I've never heard I never heard this.

Speaker 2 (01:15:26):
D's nuts nuts nuts. Okay, producer, Sam, what's up with you?

Speaker 6 (01:15:34):
All right?

Speaker 12 (01:15:34):
Speaking of football, I know I'm the minority in this
particular room, but I know there are a whole bunch
of people like me. So to all of the partners
who live with sports fanaticts but don't really care about
watching things on TV, I see you.

Speaker 4 (01:15:47):
I'm with you.

Speaker 12 (01:15:47):
And the sun has set on our free TV season
because last night will.

Speaker 4 (01:15:51):
He picks up their remote and it puts on the
Packers game.

Speaker 12 (01:15:53):
And I love that he loves it, and he's gonna
have so much fun watching. But it's going to be
a whole season of him telling me things I don't
understand and frankly, don't really care about. But I love him,
so I will continue to listen. So for all the
partners out there like me who really don't care, I
see you.

Speaker 4 (01:16:06):
We're gonna be fine.

Speaker 2 (01:16:07):
You, Sam, We're good, all right?

Speaker 4 (01:16:09):
There you go, Sam, here it is and.

Speaker 2 (01:16:11):
My Gandhi, Gandhi, what's on your mind today?

Speaker 4 (01:16:14):
Okay? So we're very fortunate to have these jobs for
a lot of reasons, but one of them I recently
found out is because we don't have to wear ties.
Do you know how bad ties are for you. Really,
Apparently they cut blood flow to your brain by up
to seven point five percent. Yet tis they may have
it's a tie, not even it doesn't even need to
be that tight. It's just if it constricts at all,

(01:16:35):
it's supposed to be really bad for you, and it
can cause things like headaches, dizziness, vomiting even. I mean,
we need to thank our Locke stars every day that
we are not forced to wear ties. And guys, if
you're wearing a tie, or women too, if you're wearing
a tie and you're feeling kind of funny, you could
lobby at work to not wear ties anymore because it's
a health hazard.

Speaker 2 (01:16:54):
There you go, sue your boss. Ties required. Okay, well
sue your boss, sue your balls. All right, ties make
a stupid duty noted. Let's get into sound with Gott,
yes it all right.

Speaker 19 (01:17:09):
Let's start with the ending of the Bills Ravens game
from last night up in Buffalo, in.

Speaker 5 (01:17:25):
Their final season in this stadium where they studying.

Speaker 2 (01:17:30):
A lot of people went to bed last night.

Speaker 19 (01:17:32):
I'm not expecting that right there, and a lot of
tables were broken pre and post game, all right, Yes,
from the VMA's last night Elvis. Ariana Grande thanked you
in her speech.

Speaker 2 (01:17:42):
Oh she did, thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:17:44):
To my therapists and gay people.

Speaker 4 (01:17:46):
I'm not a therapist.

Speaker 19 (01:17:50):
I'll let you figure out which one you are, Okay,
all right, NBC Philadelphia, you might have seen this story
about the dad who caught a home run ball down
in Miami, gave it to his son who is Phillies fan,
and then a what she's being called now as the
Phillies Karen came over and stole the ball and said
that was hers. Here's him explaining everything that went down.

Speaker 20 (01:18:09):
As soon as it cracked off the bat, it was
starting to head our way a little bit. It fell
and kind of bubbled between the two armrests, and I
picked it up, and I just walked away and held
the ball up high and put it in Lincoln's glove.
And then she showed up. As she reached from my arm,
she just yelled in my ear, that's my ball, like
super loud. I jumped out of my skin. Then she's like,

(01:18:29):
those are from our seats. I said, there was nobody
in that seat. I pretty much just wanted her to
go away and be dad and show him how to
de escalate a situation, So that's where I went.

Speaker 6 (01:18:39):
I was happy to give it her, but we can't win.
She was gonna get it anyways.

Speaker 4 (01:18:46):
That lady was such a cow about that totally.

Speaker 19 (01:18:49):
The Marlins ended up giving her, giving the family just
a bunch of stuff from the team, and then Harrison
Bader from the Phillies met the family after the game
gave them a signed back and so they definitely won
in the situation after going viral.

Speaker 2 (01:19:04):
Okay, good, all right.

Speaker 19 (01:19:06):
Did you guys watch Building the Band on Netflix? It
was that reality singing show. Well, the winners of that
Three Quincy over the weekend put out their first song.

Speaker 2 (01:19:15):
It's called top Down.

Speaker 1 (01:19:19):
I'll give you a show.

Speaker 2 (01:19:22):
Stuff up.

Speaker 19 (01:19:29):
There you go, three Quincy. They are the winners of
Building the Band on Netflix.

Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
Okay, remember the name? Okay, all right?

Speaker 19 (01:19:36):
And then finally this happened about three weeks ago. Gandhi
saw this on on one of her pages and like, hey,
we should look into this. The Iowa State Fair had
the Husband Calling Contest of twenty twenty five and here
are some of the submissions.

Speaker 4 (01:20:00):
Uh, horrific.

Speaker 2 (01:20:08):
And that's how you get your husband to come home apparently, Yeah, okay,
that's it are. You're a good American. We haven't done
Danielle in a while. Danielle, do you do you feel
like we've left you out a little bit? No, I'm okay.

Speaker 3 (01:20:25):
I'm just here relaxing, doing nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:20:29):
Just sit there collecting a page, doing nothing, absolutely nothing.
All right, Danielle, let's tell you all right.

Speaker 13 (01:20:34):
So, I don't know if you saw Cardi By hitting
the streets selling her next album on the sidewalks of
New York City.

Speaker 3 (01:20:39):
She laid out a black sheet on the ground. It
was like she was on Canal Street selling those big bags.

Speaker 13 (01:20:44):
She laid out a black sheet on the ground, covered
it with copies of her album, calling out to passerbys
to get there, stop by, check it out. And yeah,
so she said, my label told me I got to
hit the streets.

Speaker 3 (01:20:55):
I think she's gonna be all with us right very soon, Cardie.
I'll be excited.

Speaker 13 (01:20:59):
And her new album, am I the Drama is coming
out its September nineteenth.

Speaker 3 (01:21:03):
So this is pretty cool.

Speaker 13 (01:21:05):
Darth Vader's a Light Saber went for three point six
million dollars in a new charity auction at prop Store.
They thought it would go from maybe one to three million,
but it went for over that and it's crazy. It's
actually the one that was used in Star Wars Empire
Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Selena Gomez and

(01:21:27):
Betty Blanco, a lot of people thought that they were
gonna get married this weekend because it was the only
time Travis Kelcey could attend with Taylor Swift because he's
got a little bit of a schedule with.

Speaker 3 (01:21:36):
The Chiefs going on, you know. But it didn't happen.

Speaker 13 (01:21:39):
So TMZ is saying that they are gonna marry at
the end of this month, saying around September twenty seventh
and twenty eight that they've asked guests to pack an
overnight bag for a two day celebration. Invitations have gone
out and they're saying guests will gather on the day
of the wedding in a spot near Santa Barbara, California,
and then they will be shuttled to a nearby venue.

Speaker 3 (01:21:59):
So we will keep you posted.

Speaker 13 (01:22:01):
Sabrina Carpenter's album Man's Best Friend debut at number one
on the Billboard chart with three hundred and sixty six
thousand units, So congratulations to her. To Jonahs brothers, I
don't know if you saw the trailer for their holiday movie,
A Very Jonahs Christmas Movie.

Speaker 3 (01:22:16):
It will be premiering November fourteenth on Disney Plus. Cannot wait.
So excited about that one.

Speaker 2 (01:22:21):
They do everything, They're doing everything I know.

Speaker 3 (01:22:23):
They really do. It's crazy.

Speaker 13 (01:22:25):
The Conjuring Last Rites came in at number one at
the box office over the weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:22:29):
Have any of you seen it yet?

Speaker 2 (01:22:30):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:22:31):
No, I can't wait.

Speaker 13 (01:22:32):
I was waiting for my husband to come back from
the UK to see it, but I cannot wait. Hamilton
the re release was second, and Weapons came in at
number three. Of course, if you missed the Video Music
Awards the MTV Video Music Awards last night, Lady Gaga
had the most nominations twelve, walked away with the most
moon men. She got Artists of the Year, Best Direction,

(01:22:52):
Best Art Direction, Best Collab with Bruno Mars for Die
with a Smile, And of course a lot of other
people took the stage. And my favorite part of the
morning was when I walked in and the guys in
here were jeweling over Tate McCrae's performance and Sabrina Carpenter
was so cute.

Speaker 3 (01:23:06):
Well you know, I guess it was kind of cute.

Speaker 2 (01:23:08):
I don't know Tate McCray. You know, the camera went
in on her. She was right there in the middle
of the stage and she looked like she's ready for bed.

Speaker 13 (01:23:14):
You know, she had a little she's very limble of that.
Tate McCray, Yes, she is.

Speaker 2 (01:23:19):
I like her.

Speaker 3 (01:23:20):
I love the tribute to Ozzy Osbourne too. I thought
that was amazing.

Speaker 13 (01:23:23):
So what are we watching right now? You can watch
some football. You've got the Bears and the Vikings going
at it. You've got the quiz with balls. Doctor Seuss's
Redfish Bluefish on Netflix. Is the series premiere of that,
the streaming premiere of the Wedding Banquet on Paramount Plus.
And I got to finally see K Pop Demon Hunters
over the weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:23:42):
It is so good.

Speaker 13 (01:23:43):
I don't think it's just for the kids. It's amazing.
The soundtrack is so much fun. I've been singing it NonStop.

Speaker 3 (01:23:49):
And yeah, and.

Speaker 13 (01:23:50):
Unknown Number I watched that as well. Oh my gosh,
can't believe the ending to that one. And that's my
Danielle report.

Speaker 2 (01:23:56):
And you know, last night at the MTV Video Music Award,
Ricky Martin looking awesome. He accepted his Latin Icon Award
last night.

Speaker 1 (01:24:06):
First whatever I know.

Speaker 2 (01:24:07):
Here you go. Our friend Tommy Jadario hosts. I've never
said this before. Tommy, who's on the podcast this week?
Hey Elvis.

Speaker 7 (01:24:18):
Today's guest is Lana Paria, who is starring in The
rain Maker, based off the best selling novel.

Speaker 2 (01:24:22):
And hit film. What is it like playing a role
made famous by Mickey Rourke? You don't want to miss
what she says, I've never said this before. New episodes
every Tuesday. Listen on the iHeartRadio app or wherever you
get your podcasts.

Speaker 1 (01:24:37):
This is Elvis Duran in the morning show.

Speaker 2 (01:24:41):
Hey, I know, Danielle. You love to go out for
a walk on the afternoon's right, every.

Speaker 13 (01:24:45):
Day, even if it's rainy, even if it's snow. I
tried to go and just beat you know, do it, just.

Speaker 2 (01:24:51):
Do it right. Getting back to nature is just an
important thing people. People don't understand that there was so
much more to uh walking in nature than just seeing
a bunch of leaves and rocks and things.

Speaker 13 (01:25:04):
People ask me that all the time. They're like, why
don't you just go on the treadmill? And I go,
because it's just a different feeling. Being outside is a
different feeling.

Speaker 2 (01:25:12):
Well, I tell you, and I'm glad that you brought
that up and YouTube, Gandhi, I know you love hugging
a tree from time to time.

Speaker 18 (01:25:19):
Of it.

Speaker 2 (01:25:21):
There's a story in the New York Times. I'm loving it.
The headline is a surprising and easy way to boost
your attention span. Being in nature is great for your brain,
and experts are trying to figure out why. So they
did this study in two thousand and eight thirty eight
students at the University of Michigan. They set out on
a walk. Half of them wound their way through trees

(01:25:44):
in this arboretum for like two and a half miles.
The other half navigated the same distance on a busy
street downtown, so half of them in nature, half of
them in the urban setting. A week later, the two
groups swapped roots both times. Before they say out, the
students took a test that challenged their attention and their memory,

(01:26:05):
and they were given progressively longer sequences of numbers that
they had to repeat back in reverse order. And when
they returned to campus, the students took the test again.
Walking through town improved their performance slightly, but walking in
nature boosted their scores by twenty percent. Wow. And they're
saying that your the cognitive benefits of just walking in

(01:26:26):
nature are just limitless. And they're trying to come up
with a theory as to why the effect that nature
has on our minds has been studied many times, and
they're trying to figure out why exposure to like green
spaces is great for your cognition and creativity and your mood.

(01:26:47):
And one theory is what you see. They're saying that
in an urban setting walking downtown, you see these straight lines,
you see you know, horizontal vertical lines and buildings, But
in nature you see natural twists in turns of a
river or the shape of a rock. And they're saying
it's easier on the mind, and it lets you relax,

(01:27:08):
and it makes you focus more and be more in
touch with your surroundings. So whatever the answer is, we
know for a fact going for a walk outside with
the trees is a great thing for you.

Speaker 3 (01:27:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:27:23):
In Japan they actually prescribe something called forest therapy, where
when people are feeling stressed out or anxious, whatever it is,
they say, hey, I'm going to give you this excuse.
Go into the woods for three hours, take some deep
breaths and enjoy it and come back and people swear
by that. I mean, imagine if we could do that,
that'd be amazing.

Speaker 3 (01:27:39):
That'd be awesome.

Speaker 2 (01:27:40):
Texas came through this person went through management training for
their job, and they had an entire section on forest
bathing and how being in nature helps you concentrate and
focus on what you need to do in life. You've
heard of that, right, yes.

Speaker 4 (01:27:54):
So what does that mean for us all here in
New York City?

Speaker 2 (01:27:58):
God, get out of town or you have Central Park,
which I think is a very very important part of
our city. You know, if that's as far as waste
as you can go, go there.

Speaker 3 (01:28:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:28:10):
I read somewhere that you should always have your feet
touch grass and it helps you like open up one
of your chakras.

Speaker 2 (01:28:17):
You know.

Speaker 5 (01:28:17):
There's like, you know, you have like seven chokras in
your body, so that's like.

Speaker 2 (01:28:22):
One of your choc.

Speaker 5 (01:28:25):
If all your chakras are open, apparently you're a better
person and you're living on a higher level.

Speaker 2 (01:28:30):
Wasn't chakra? That character had the big forehead, that chakaa.

Speaker 5 (01:28:40):
I'm talking about the cha chakra.

Speaker 13 (01:28:43):
Okay, Chewbacca, you see that big animatronic they got of
Chewbacca for Christmas.

Speaker 2 (01:28:48):
That's cool, Okay, Okay, well, okay, you can walk to
nature and walk through a forest of animatronic to characters anyway,
So they know for a fact when you get out
of nature and to spend time with it, it's gonna
make you a better person. Period. Don't even argue. Who's
going to go for a walk today? Whom?

Speaker 20 (01:29:09):
Hey, this is Taylor swiss Ali, this is.

Speaker 4 (01:29:13):
And you're listening to Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (01:29:16):

Speaker 8 (01:29:37):
Elvis Duran and The Morning Show.

Speaker 3 (01:29:41):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:29:43):
If you look closely, no matter where you go in
this world, you'll see the influencers dotting the mall or
the sidewalks around the city, you know, dancing to some
rhythm they hear in their head and or going out
to a restaurant and you know, recording themselves on their
phone while they're eating a waffle and and sometimes they

(01:30:03):
just they're in the way. I mean, I know, if
there's there's an importance to influencing, I guess I don't know.
I guess we need them, yeah, but sometimes there's just
I saw a video the other day. This woman was
sitting there at a restaurant and they brought her a
bill at the end of her lunch, and she was recording,

(01:30:24):
of course, the whole time on her phone. She's like, no, no, no, no,
I'm an influencer. I shouldn't pay for this. I'm doing
you a favor.

Speaker 4 (01:30:31):
Hah.

Speaker 2 (01:30:32):
But they're like, we don't know who you are. You
should know who I am and should know that I'm
a vegetarian. You serve me meat and whatever. And I'm
looking at this self. The self importance in this dumb
woman's mind was just gross. Weren't you at a party
not too long ago, Gandhi? Were there a bunch of
influencers and it was just like a night of living Hell.

Speaker 4 (01:30:50):
Yes, I have been to I feel like a few
of them lately, and a ton of influencers show up.
And to your point, I know why they're there. You
want to spread the word, you want to tell everyone
you're here. There was no joy among the majority of
the people who were there. Nobody was interacting with each
other or trying to talk to new people or really
just having a moment with a really cool event. It
was just all about how many times do I take

(01:31:13):
this one picture which was one hundred and fifty and
how can I make it look great? And it just
went back. It took me back to the thing we
talk about all the time, which is people are so
much more concerned, it seems, with what things look like
versus what things feel like. And I'm like, Okay, these
pictures and everything, they're going to look great online. But
I was here and I know what this was actually like.
And I felt like the weirdo because I was cracking

(01:31:34):
up with my friends and I felt like that obnoxious
a hole who's the only person laughing there, Like we're
allowed to still do that, right of course?

Speaker 2 (01:31:42):
Yes you No, I encourage it. I mean they're sunking
the joy out of your night. So there's this guy
we follow. I love this guy. His name is Dottie.
I think daa d I Dotty Dottie snacks. Yes he's
the best you've seen him? Right? No, he goes he
mocks these influencers. Oh my god, guys, we had to

(01:32:03):
go down and get the Macha flavored waffles.

Speaker 19 (01:32:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:32:07):
The Indian guy r.

Speaker 2 (01:32:10):
I actually sent him a message saying, we want you
on our show because he makes fun of influencers and
they and they get mad at him. They're threatening to
sue him all the time. He is gold amazing, this guy.

Speaker 5 (01:32:21):
And he's spot on with his views.

Speaker 2 (01:32:23):
I mean, I mean, I could play him, it's not edited.
He make curse. I don't. I'm afraid to play it live.

Speaker 3 (01:32:27):
What is it for people to follow up?

Speaker 2 (01:32:30):
D A A D I snacks s N A c
K his family, Uh has they They have some South
Asian popcorn, the family recipe, hand ground Indian rescipices whatever.
It sounds great. And I said, come on our show.
We'll talk about your popcorn and by talk about how
you love to call out these influencers. And he said
he wants to wait until until they have more product

(01:32:52):
to give away or something. I don't know. I just
I like him. He He's great.

Speaker 5 (01:32:58):
He really hammers at home, you know, because we all
think and feel the same way about some of the influencers,
and this guy just nails it and he goes right in.

Speaker 4 (01:33:07):
I just want authenticity, that's it. Just be authentic. If
you go somewhere, have a really good time, cool show
the good time that you're having. I don't just want
to see these like stoic faces, not smiling and just
standing getting in the way of everything.

Speaker 3 (01:33:19):
Don't you think they.

Speaker 13 (01:33:19):
Would a lot of times they just come and get
their picture and leave.

Speaker 4 (01:33:22):
Yes, you know, to do list and.

Speaker 2 (01:33:26):
He's posting and New York City influencer post there to
do list and it's like the most asinine things the
life they're living, these these influencers.

Speaker 11 (01:33:34):
No offense but events, okay, total offense, yes, Nate, Well,
you know, not to defend influencers, but I will. I mean,
that's kind of what we do. But that the thing that's.

Speaker 2 (01:33:46):
Different about your mouth. The thing that's different.

Speaker 11 (01:33:48):
About I'm about to pay you a couple of the
thing that's different about us is we're very selective about
what we actually do talk about, right, Yeah, So like
Danielle and Gandhi, some of us are so Danielle and
Gandhi just went on a big and I could tell
that they were actually having a good time.

Speaker 3 (01:34:02):
It was amazing.

Speaker 11 (01:34:03):
The entire time they were quote unquote influencing right, because
we're we actually have integrity.

Speaker 5 (01:34:10):
I just hate when they run into these mom and
pop small businesses and then shake them down for free
product or to be paid, and then if you don't,
then they go ahead and do the opposite and they
will crush you. How not even had an experience.

Speaker 13 (01:34:24):
People are trying to make a living and sell their
products and make some money, like you know what I mean, Like,
don't go in and ask for free crap.

Speaker 2 (01:34:30):
I tell you what if you want to be an influencer.
And I know that Dottie has I hope I'm saying
his name correctly. I don't want to because he's he
deserves it to be pronounced, right, I guess. But he
actually found a guy, an influencer who went to a
restaurant and said, oh my god, you've got to come
try this. This food is from it's a world flavor

(01:34:52):
restaurant with a cuisine from another culture, and you know,
stuff you would never really get in other restaurants in town.
You've got to that's right. He highlighted this guy. He
actually gave him a good report. And I want to
see more influencers doing that. Yeah, if they go into
a place and give it a lot of hell, then
it's like, okay, well all right, it sounded I'd rather

(01:35:13):
you give me good reasons to go someplace.

Speaker 4 (01:35:16):
For sure. Our friend Dina with the pin Care, she
deals with this a lot because she has a makeup
line and a lot of people will reach out to
her asking for free product or they'll try to tell
her I got your products and I loved it. If
you want me to review it, give me more for free,
and she can see if people have actually purchased, and
a lot of times they haven't. And it's like, Dina
is a small business. So when you come and you
say I just need products for my entire bridal party,

(01:35:38):
that's crazy. You can't do that to a small pize.
That's crazy to them.

Speaker 2 (01:35:42):
All right, So influencers, I do love following influencers in
the wild. Oh yes, on Instagram.

Speaker 3 (01:35:48):
That is fun.

Speaker 2 (01:35:49):
You have like a fly on the wall view of
people out in public, you know, trying to get the
right shot on their camera and they look like idiots,
just like we were actually at a resort in the
Caribbean not too long ago, and we were at by
the pool. You know, and have some cocktails. And there
was a guy with his camera phone and a girl

(01:36:09):
who was posing in these provocative poses I guess, and
he was trying to get it just right, and they
did it. It was like an hour of them trying
just to show her, you know, being sexy. I guess
at the pool at this resort. I mean, they look
so they looked so embarrassing.

Speaker 13 (01:36:31):
If it takes you that long to pose in a
sexy way, you're probably not sexy, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (01:36:38):
I just in a snap, look at this sexy.

Speaker 3 (01:36:40):
Right around Bam, what up, Nate.

Speaker 11 (01:36:45):
You'll see them in New York City a lot, the
Instagram boyfriend or the Instagram husband, and I just my
heart goes out to these poor guys because they're trying
to get this shot and then they get yelled at no.

Speaker 2 (01:36:56):
Higher point five.

Speaker 11 (01:36:59):
I feel so bad for these poor guys and they're
they're just becoming a photographer, trying to do this photo
shoot for their girl and get it.

Speaker 4 (01:37:06):
If it pays for stuff, I understand you want to
go and you know, live your life that way and
not have like a job job and capitalize on what
you can. But it's just exhausting.

Speaker 3 (01:37:15):
Yeah, and you's gotta have this is a respect factor too,
you know, just to get.

Speaker 2 (01:37:18):
Your influencer cool. Would you, hey, looking back at last
night's MTV Video Music Awards, another song or artist we
want to play?

Speaker 4 (01:37:28):
So I didn't watch it yet, I'm excited to go
home and watch it was great? Okay, what about L
cool J?

Speaker 13 (01:37:33):
I mean he was the host and he's got a
lot of great.

Speaker 2 (01:37:38):
Scary pull up some l ll cool J. Because ladies
love cool catalog. Would you want to hear head from?
They want to hear that from?

Speaker 4 (01:37:47):
It was such a good one.

Speaker 2 (01:37:50):
Do we have to work out if we play it?

Speaker 7 (01:37:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:37:52):
Absolutely? L L cool what a great job at the
MTV Video Music Awards last night. Also, did you see
the carpet, the red carpet before the awards? Our Friendnessa
was the host. She was awesome. She's great. I like
her a lot. Uh is anyone here? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:38:14):
I loved her.

Speaker 2 (01:38:15):
She was great. Thank you scary? Did you even watch her?
Just saying that to a great So I did.

Speaker 5 (01:38:20):
I watched the pre show I didn't see and there
was another gentleman with her and I don't know who
was nice black leather jacket.

Speaker 2 (01:38:27):
Yeah, the black leathern jacket. Guy. Hey, uh scary. I
know you are the spokesperson here for our our our
partners at Sloman's. Yes, Sloman's they have this shield Link
thing and and can I call you out on this
a little bit because I know, look, Slowman's is great.
I mean, it's all about security for your house, in
your apartment. It's all about those you know, the ring

(01:38:49):
bells what those things are called that you know you
can pee you see whoever's at the front door stealing
your packages and tell them to go away. That's great.

Speaker 20 (01:38:58):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:38:59):
But the shield Link think thing. It's shield Link from Slomans.
I bet it's made you the laziest sloth on the
planet earth.

Speaker 5 (01:39:06):
It sure, well it's it's getting rolled out today. Today's
the day goes right nationwide.

Speaker 2 (01:39:11):

Speaker 5 (01:39:31):
I lay in bed like a mummy.

Speaker 2 (01:39:34):
Okay, But the whole point of shield link from Slomans,
I would think, is so you can operate all these
things from the office or the road. You do it
from within the house because you.

Speaker 5 (01:39:46):
Just pressed buttons. Listen, I swear to you, it's amazing.
I want my curtains to open up. I'm about to,
uh make that. Put that together. Have my curtains open
and closed.

Speaker 2 (01:39:56):
Because you know they get up and open the curtains.

Speaker 5 (01:39:58):
Get up, and I like to lay in bed on
my back with the covers over me, and I got
my phone with me and I'm pressing buttons.

Speaker 4 (01:40:06):
On there you fused to the bed.

Speaker 5 (01:40:10):
Do you know my speakers on the other side of
the room, And I don't want to If I want
to play music, I want to just sit.

Speaker 2 (01:40:15):
There and I can play the music. Okay, all right, okay,
you do everything. There's not one thing in your apartment
that's controlled by your fingers. It's all on your app
from the Sloman's shielding the lights on and off, not
even the covers. The lights was right there.

Speaker 5 (01:40:33):
No, But if I'm in bed already, I don't want
to lean over and get up.

Speaker 19 (01:40:37):
You don't even want to I just want to lean
if I if I lean over, the whole bed will
fall over.

Speaker 5 (01:40:46):
If I owned a house, I would use it to
the next level.

Speaker 2 (01:40:49):
I would I would have.

Speaker 5 (01:40:49):
A turn on my sprinkless system.

Speaker 4 (01:40:51):
You're fearful for your health.

Speaker 5 (01:40:53):
Listen, you guys got that was you got a dog,
right dog? So listen you could actually make it start
the auto dog feeder.

Speaker 2 (01:41:02):
So you have to feed Max and I think I
should probably feed them and interact with my dogs. I
tell you what I I love. I love the Slowman's
shield Link. Uh. I don't want I want to borrow yours.
I want my own. But I just think at some point,
you know you it's good for like when you're out

(01:41:23):
of the house, but if you want to be lazy
and you know, turn off a light, you know across
the room.

Speaker 5 (01:41:29):
Coffee to start it does if you get out of bed,
you know.

Sloman's Shieldlink dot Com? What Nate, Let's get to use
the dog treat thing to dispense em and m's just yes, sir,
He's gonna hover his dog dispenser above his bed. It
has opened his mouth and push the Sloman's Shield Link
button and then like cinnamon toasty apple jacks will fall out.

Speaker 4 (01:42:19):
We're gonna have fourth quarter scary.

Speaker 2 (01:42:22):
God all right? I love, I mean, look, they know
how we need to live outside the home and inside
the home. Sloman's Shieldlink dot Com into the three things
you need to know? Gandhi, what's up? All right?

Speaker 4 (01:42:34):
The World Health Organization has called for the protection of
public health excellence at the US CDC and a post
Sunday on x the organization director said the work of
the us CDC has been invaluable and must be protected.
His comments follow leadership changes at the CDC and concerns
that some decisions by US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy
Junior are putting Americans health at risk. Speaking of health,

(01:42:57):
nearly fifty thousand people many of them on first responders
have been diagnosed with nine to eleven related cancers non stop.

Speaker 2 (01:43:05):
It's still going on.

Speaker 4 (01:43:06):
It's more than one hundred and forty percent of an
increase over the last five years. That is according to
the World Trade Center Health Program. The cancers are linked
to toxins released at Ground Zero in New York City
and the Fresh Kills Landfill, which was used as sorting
ground for rubble. Far more people have now died from
nine to eleven related cancers than were killed in the actual.

Speaker 2 (01:43:26):
Terror To my god, This Thursday, September eleventh.

Speaker 4 (01:43:29):
Yeah, it's common. And finally, a House Task Force on
Government Transparency is planning to hold a hearing tomorrow on
