Speaker 1 (00:02):
What would you talk about on your on your podcast?
Firms Represents Minute Morning Show. All right, here we go
the fifteen minute Morning Show podcast for Wednesday, July seventeenth.
This morning, on the show, we covered a lot of stuff,
human trafficking, we covered UM entertainment news, book tour. How

(00:32):
you're annoying your coworkers. Yeah, how you can annoy your coworkers.
But one thing that really really just kind of sticks
with me is our conversation with intern Robbie about him
selling his body for money and just walking into random
parties and hooking up and maybe hooking up with somebody
who's going to film him. And one of the things
I love about our show the interns. Right, yeah, let's

(00:54):
get to know our interns. Today we're meeting Robbie, Emily, Megan, Kitty.
I feel like I know too much about Robbie. Already,
feels wrong. Okay, Well I just read four names, but
five people just walked in, So let's get to know

(01:15):
your name. Okay, So okay, So let's we'll end with Robbie.
So you know what, there's something really cool about our
internship program. You Dave Brody's in charge, and he always
brings us the most incredibly cool, gifted, wonderful, interesting, multidimensional
uh interns every single season. I don't know how you

(01:37):
do it, you really do. Let's start with Kitty, Good morning, Kitty,
welcome to the microphone, Come on in morning. So have
you interned on other media? Show? And the radio shows
are in other media outlets? I ran my school's radio station,
so I ran that this past year. UM. I was

(01:58):
hip hop director there for a bit. Then I'm training
director UM. And then I was general manager this past year.
And University at Albany, Great Danes. There you go, and
we're on in Albany. That's so cool. Yeah, So, uh,
anything interesting do you want to point out about your
internship here at the Elvis Drade Morning Show. I love
I mean I I love it. I was here last

(02:18):
summer and now I'm back helping out with you guys
a little bit, helping out on UM. I just love
all the cool people I've met. The interns are super cool.
I think we're definitely this intern class. We're a lot
closer than last year. I think. Yeah. So it's really
nice people. But you live you live in a in
a in a very nice apartment on Central Park very nice.

(02:41):
Most most interns are, you know, living in small little
dorm room somewhere or little bity apartments in the Yeah.
So instead of living in one of those, I live
in a one bedroom apartment with my retired mother that
was built in the forties. So that's definitely better. So
you you you come from a family of privilege and

(03:02):
so but still you're you know, do you want to
get out there in the workforce and do your own thing?
I love that definitely. So your family owns a football team,
no big deal. Also one way to put it all right,
it's okay, the Baltimore Ravens team. So my my great
uncle was Art Modell, so I shopping him all the time.

(03:25):
So say, so you're related to the model's. I was
hanging out with the model's this past weekend. It's a
big family, yeah, says I have a very big family.
My ancestry dot com account is easy to get lost,
but so I do have. My cousins are models. So, um,
if you shop at Model's high that's us. By the way,
like us. If you don't live in the Northeast, you
may not be familiar with Model's is. It's a huge

(03:47):
sporting goods store and whatever. But do you know what
they used to do for like trick or treating? They
used to give out model's gift cards treat at their house.
Times tough. Anyway, enough of the family. I just wanted
to let you know that we have an entire spectrum
of backgrounds for all of our interns. All right, So

(04:07):
anyone have a question for kitty kitty questions? Oh kitty,
So you said that this class of interns is closer
than the last. Was there beef? Was there something going
on with the last So I don't think there was
like beef. I think just like we had like a
group chat last year and it just never really like
kicked off, whereas this year there's like a whole Snapchat
group and like I really don't even use Snapchat, but
now we're like we're on it all the time. We're

(04:29):
always talking, taking videos of each other. Robbie took a
weird stock or video of me recently that No, yeah,
I didn't even know if someone told me and then
I had to find out second hand. So yeah, there
might become beef. Who knows? Okay, So as far as
interning on the Elvis Durin Morning Show, has anything occurred

(04:49):
here that is actually put you on a different pathway
to a different profession possibly or other other questions you
have about your future because of this internship. I mean,
I think that, like, um, I've always known I've wanted
to work like in entertainment, um, preferably in music. But
I find myself more convinced that, like I heart radio
might be where I want to start my career because

(05:11):
I really enjoy it here. I'm not just saying that
because like I'm here on Erin now, I promise, I
promise I say this like Maxwell all the time, Okay,
that's cool. Sweat you the worst around here? Well, yeah,
you disrespectfully out of everyone, I think Max Dran now

(05:32):
that's actually likes me. But no, everyone everyone is really sweet.
I'm yes, Scary. As a question, I was going to
ask who is your favorite and your least favorite member
of Elvist around the morning shows. Yeah, I think it's
a very fair question. The witness will answer the question. Um,
I know Scary wants me to say he's my favorite, um,

(05:57):
but definitely, but I will say, like Scary was one
of the nicest people to me last year, so I definitely, Um,
I love Skiy. I love everybody to pick one. You
can't do that. Oh my god, I don't know. Um
I'm gonna say Brody because I feel like he controls
my future. Intern kidding, Kingding. Come on, all right, let's

(06:24):
move on to intern Megan. Come on, intern Megan. Good morning,
Megan morning. Are you enjoying your internship at the Elvis
Durra in Morning Show? Yes? I love It's understanding. It
sounds weird to me to speak of myself in the
third person. Yeah, he's Elvis Duran, a nice guy. Elvis
Duran is a great guy from Megan's point of view. Okay, good, Okay,

(06:44):
this is your second I believe this is your second
round with us. Yes, this is my second summer. So
what brought you back? You could have gone anywhere? Why
do you want to come back to the Elvis during
Morning Show? I absolutely love it. Like people say it's
hard with the mornings, and whenever I tell them, oh,
I have to get on the three fifty eight train
to get in here on time, They're like, how you
do it? And it's honestly, just like, for the love

(07:06):
of it, we must not be as bad as we think.
They just haven't seen it yet. Where do you go
to school. I go to the University of Tennessee and Knoxville. Yeah.
Where are you from? Originally Long Island? Yeah, so you
grew up listening to us, I guess, Oh yeah, definitely.
I actually came and visited, um when Carla Marie was
on the show. My aunt was friends with her and

(07:27):
she let us come up and do a tour and
I saw you guys when it was like the old studio. Hey. Um,
it's kind of interesting of people who come visit us
before they become interns. It seems like we would have
scared you. Oh no, oh my god. I got my
foot in the water. I got a taste and I
was hooked. So, I mean, I don't know exactly or

(07:47):
I don't know if you know exactly where it is
you want to end up in land? But where do
you think you would like to go in this business? Um, honestly,
anywhere around music. I grew up doing music my whole life.
I'm in a band right now. We play on the weekends,
just like cover band play. I sing and I play guitar,
right yeah, hold on, I'll enter. Do you guys play

(08:07):
instruments at all any of you. Yeah, Robbie does of course.
Oh my god, Danielle, what we could put We could
put our intern band together? Nice anyway, Sorry about that.
Any questions for Internmagan anyway? I really liked Who was
your favorite and least favorite member of the show. Oh

(08:29):
my god, I think this is really tough. But Elvis
because his name is on the show. Probably right, Yes, completely,
by the way, wise choice? Thank you? Um least favorite?
Oh no, Jake always gives me these looks when he
walks by, and like, I can't tell yet, he's kind

(08:50):
of creepy. Yeah, a little bit. I'm gonna ask you
a question that I have to take it back to
to Kitty and asked her the same question. What is
your favorite Elvis dr in morning show talent fit that
you have? Good? Can you know what we're under the
pressure here to put a show on it. Sometimes, you know,
when the pressure gets tough and we have we throw
a fit like little babies, little tantrums. I won't really
call it a tantrum, but sometimes I'm sitting in um

(09:13):
the other studio and I just hear thuds coming behind
me and it's Greg t sprinting back and forth. Cursing,
being like, call me back in, damn it. So I
think that's the best, just hearing that and then not
really seeing him go, but then walking him, like watching
him huff and puff coming back come back. We we
now reserve the right to bring Kitty back to Have

(09:35):
you noticed any talent fits, any tantrums being thrown by
any members of the show. Oh god, you can speak freely.
No one's gonna fired. Probably like I don't know. I
I guess like Brody when he gets mad about like
sports or something, Yeah, he does. He gets all mad

(09:56):
about stuff that he can't control. You know, it's it's
that's how it is. She also totally weaseled out of
who was her least favorite member of the show. All
that's true. I never I never answered that, um least favorite.
I'm not stealing your answer. I am going to say Jake.
I love him to death, but he got angry at
me for yawning today, as he does with most random

(10:18):
things that I will do a person. He loved me
dead in the face, as he does to every single intern,
and he goes stop yawning. Jake's like exercising Jake was funny.
All right, Thank you? Kitty, thanks for the records. Going
to er Emily. Emily, Welcome to the microphone. I know, Emily,

(10:42):
have you noticed anyone throw any sort of tantrum or
fit you're on the show. My favorite is you. It
wasn't it what you had a right to remember when
you got rained on that. Honestly, I kind of handle
it well. I was surprised I didn't have clothes for
I walked. I walked to work in the pouring rain,

(11:07):
and I had my dog Max with me. It was
a bad day. Bad Yeah, that's my favorite. Anyway, if
you're just wondering, we're getting to know some of our
favorite intern to here today. So right now we're talking
to uh intern Emily. So, Emily, Uh, any observations from
your time here at the elvistra in morning show that
you want to share something Maybe we don't notice being
here in our cage every day, you may see something

(11:27):
we need to know about. UM. I don't know, I
don't know. I guess how casual you guys just talk like.
I don't know. I didn't I just expected when you
guys were talking, Like when you guys are talking, it
just seems like you're just hanging out. I wasn't expecting that.
I don't know, I don't know what. I like pictured

(11:47):
it to look like you make it sound natural, but
it's all scripted. Yeah, it's not one script that's the satisfying.
I guess. You can really just say like anything, like
you really do you just in and or like the
amount of people who run in like randomly, will like
show you something to say it and I'll just say
you just say it. I know that's what we do.
It really is the easiest job on earth, and they

(12:10):
pay us a buttload of money to do it. It's
insane talk about all the money you make next, so
much money, it's make you feel bad. Okay, So your
favorite and least favorite on the show, people that you
you connect with the most and least. Um, my favorite
is actually Brody because I tell people he he could

(12:35):
be like my you're not that old, but you could
be like my grandpa. O your next You're totally skipped
over the fact you can be si over the fact
that you give me your father right because because he's
really cute. He's like just like cute, like man, like

(12:58):
a cute man. I love him all right. The other day,
we've got a haircut and I was like, oh did
you get a haircut? And made me so happy? All right?
And now the person, what about the person you least
connect with? Um, I don't know. I've never talked to

(13:19):
Josh in my life, by the way. To be fair,
Josh does a lot of the sound and and and
he sculpts the sound of our show and he does
it in a very dark cave in the back. When
you get to know Josh, he's like one of the
sweetest people in the world. He loves he loves comic books,

(13:39):
and he loves Disney. You'd never think John the Disney freak,
and he is. It's cool alright, So any final thoughts
before you give the Florida Robbie? By the way, what
do you guys all think of Robbie. He's a very interesting,
odd quirk of nature. I believe, an absolute wild card.
You never know what's going to come out of his

(13:59):
mouth right or go in it, in it right exactly.
That's the only thing I know about him is his
sex life. I'm worried about under you know, a nice guy, though,
I do wonder, you know, working for a big corporation,
if we're liable for anything with him out there spewing
information about his sex life, and we really got to
be careful of that. Well, that's why I asked him

(14:20):
in the back if you guys meant to go to
commercial right when he started talking about that he got
paid for sex. Well, by the way, we're about to
get back into that in a moment. Uh No, it
was the computer tells us what time we have to
take a break. It just so happened the computer said
it's time for its perfect because he was like, yeah,
I haven't. It was like, oh, it's the rand in
the morning show. So you noticed that as well, didn't you.

(14:45):
All Right, well, thank you very much, Like, no, we
do absolutely and keep in mind and Brody is just
he is the wizard at choosing everyone's want to choose
a clunker. But we haven't any got those grandpa skills.
Only one a semester, right, thank you, Emili. All right,
we move on to intern Robbie. Okay, you don't understand

(15:10):
now Robbie's background is such where he comes from a
very liberal artistic family. I do. Your mom is a
painter and artist, she's a muralist, and your father a muralist.
Your father what is your father. He's in commercial real estate.
That's actually how they met. He wanted a mural painted
on his building and he hired my mom to do it.
So cool, very cute. Right. Give me siblings and I

(15:32):
have four biological siblings, three biological siblings and a couple stepbrothers,
stepsister ish. My family always has people living with us,
so I call them my siblings because they've lived with
me for my whole child. Of course, one from France,
one from Tanzania, Tanzania or is in Africa? Yes, okay,
so let me ask you this question. Did you grow

(15:52):
up like going to Rather than going to a public school,
you went to like nude encounter groups. I went to
a Quaker school? Okay? Very nice? Yes, which was it's
I think that's probably why I am how I am.
Breakers are very huge on community, so I really there's
sweet people. No wait a minute, no one's blaming anyone

(16:13):
on anything. Did you hear blame? Was I casting blame? No?
We think you're fabulous? Oh no, no blame, no blame. Okay,
So last time we spoke with you on our show,
the question was have you ever been paid for sex?
And then you said, is it okay to talk about that,
and then we're just assumed at that point you're guilty.
So at hair point you've actually been paid cash or

(16:35):
tripped for jewelry alcohol. Okay, sixty worth of alcohol though,
oh you said there was a receipt. Yeah, well it
was after a stripping gig. The girls who hired us
uh said hey, Robbie, are would you be able to
stay back a little bit with our friend for maybe,
you know, a little extra something, And I was like, okay, sure.

(17:00):
So I didn't feel I will be honest, I didn't
feel great about myself afterwards, though sixty is pretty low.
If your question the robb you could have easily said no,
you chose to. It wasn't a part of choosing to
do so fun. You had a good time. Do you
want to see what would happen? I think that's what
it was. I was like, oh, this would be an

(17:21):
awesome story to tell, right, And you weren't desperate for
alcohol as and like an alcoholic, so it wasn't like
you need you needed that fix and so you had
to get it through sex. No, okay, So there was
no There was no foul play besides the legal prostitution um,
but I don't. Don't if you're thinking about it, don't
do it. Okay, I don't know what you're saying. For you,

(17:43):
it was it wasn't really humilium. I was like, am
I really worth that much? Like? I don't know? For me?
I was just like, I like that didn't That's not
how I want. I want the person who I'm doing
it with to like want me. I want to want them.
I guess that's true. I kind of emotionally but physically
works too. That's what I'm just looking at him, thinking,

(18:04):
can you come over and show my kids what not
to do? So? Does your mom know that you are
out there playing around and having a good time? She does, Yeah,
she does, My mom does, My dad does. She doesn't
like it when I talk about it graphically, but say
no, no no, no. When you say graphically, what does that mean?

(18:25):
Am I? How graphic? Am I allowed to get? I
mean sometimes to bugger I, I give graphic details of
what I did last weekend, which she doesn't like, like
like the actual physical actual movements and the movements and things. No,
but we gotta keep it on. We have to keep
it the schedule going here, so as we have asked
our other favorite interns Interroditty. I gotta say this intern

(18:48):
class is my favorite of many years. You guys, you
guys are all great. We're having your party, your individuals,
and you all have your own thing going and that's
what makes the whole stronger. As you may know, the
holestrot So, who are your favorite and least favorite people
to work with in the show, People you've connected with

(19:08):
the most and the least, or any observations down that road.
Greg t is amazing, is amazing. The I grew up
listening and you hear Greg T here like there's no
way that's him, and then you show up and that's
exactly who you wretch. He's walking by and goes stop T.

(19:28):
He goes, yeah, dude, that's it, Okay. I love who
on the show is very standoffish. I mean people who
are on the show, who are in this room. Yeah,
I honestly, And you guys are may be going to
make me say one I can't. I can't say anything
negative about anybody. No, no, no, I didn't. I didn't
request a negative comment. I'm like, who who is the

(19:52):
least who's the the least likely to get to know
on this show, probably Nate. You know why you're still
my stripper name? I name Michael Michael jay Cox. It
was Michael jay Cox when you were a diaper. So

(20:17):
is Michael jay Cox. Hey, question, well who did you
who did you stealing from an original bab? No, it
wasn't no name that great as did you come up with? Alright? So,
but what as far as an internship goes, I know
we have a lot of it's all funny games, but
at the end of the day, it's business. I mean,
are you actually learning something here? Josh Is? I work

(20:39):
with Josh doing all of his audio production stuff. He's
the best. He I've never met somebody so talented on
pro tools. I can't. He does things in five sessions.
We could argue that you are a pro tool if
you if you charge money and it doesn't cause that
much either, I hear. So this is these are our

(21:01):
interns everyone. I wish we could Robbie, Emily, Megan Kitty,
thank you guys for coming in. And by the way,
I will tell you another added bonus with Robbie's he
knows sign language and so why why do you know
sign language? I failed my Spanish placement exam so I
needed to pick a new language and loved it. And

(21:24):
he's actually been using it for good stuff. I haven't. Yeah,
I love it, and I'm going to study at the
National University for the Deaf and Heart of Hearing. You
know what I've noticed about you, And I know I
know some other people have pointed this out. When you're
just having a conversation with anyone, someone who can hear
perfectly well, you actually use sign language without knowing it.
Probably yes, because I'm always practicing, so sometimes I sign
what I talk like he's doing right now. All right,

(21:47):
I love you all. I think you're all fantastic. And
there you go. The interns of the Elvis Rand
