Speaker 1 (00:03):
What would you talk about on your on your podcast phone?
Elvis presents fifteen Minute Morning Show, The fifteen Minute Morning
Show Podcast. It's a little different today. We don't have
(00:26):
a camera. We're using a phone. Are you guys okay
with that? Yeah? I think so. But they meet the
commercials like shot on an iPhone. So now we're really
putting into better than a camera. Alright, So here we are.
It's scary. There's Gandhi, there's Lauren, there's Garrett, there's Scotty
b in the other room. There's our Frank, Barbara, here's
Danielle and Nate, who's frazzled. A lot of stuff going on.
(00:51):
How cool was Brian? See when you get frazzled, you
look a little drunk. Yeah. Does you look a little drunk? Yeah?
I think the way you can tell he's frazzled is
his hair starts to get taller, because I think he does.
And now I've got psoriasis in my scalp from the stress.
(01:12):
It's stress related. Do you think you have shingles? I
think it might be shingles. And I also have siatic arthritis.
Now you have painful rectal itch that I don't have
any And a fisher. I don't have any fish. Rather
than doing a regular fifteen minute morning show podcast, let's
just dim the light and light some candles romance about
(01:37):
all right, what a day? You know what? You should
have been here? You heard it? Maybe if you heard
the show everyone geeked out because Kevin from the Office
was here his chili cookbook here. We take bets on
what Scotty Be's caption will be on his Instagram post. Yes,
it wasn't chili in the room when heated it up.
I think he'll post just another day at the office.
(02:03):
That was it. That's where I was gonna captain obvious
over there. All right, well, hate but to watch the
happiness in the eyes of Danielle and Gandhi and Lauren
and of course producer Sam. Huge office fans or the
Office fans, I guess you'd say it like that, do
you guys totally geeked out? We've had the biggest superstars
(02:25):
in the world in here, and I've never seen you
guys do what you did with Brian Brian Kevin from
the Office. I can't explain to you how much I
love this show and how quotes from the show pop
into my head on a daily basis with anything I'm doing.
It makes me happy. It is my comfort sound when
I'm at home, not watching anything or with nothing to do.
That's what's on in the background constantly like this is.
(02:47):
He is an icon, his a legend, and it's crazy.
He was talking about how people come up to him
and say, you know you got me through this, or
I relate to the show because of this, my son
Spencer had to write an essay to get into college
because what you do. He wrote it on the office
and the fact that after COVID, the office made him
realize that it was okay not to be okay, and
(03:08):
also that it takes so many different people to make
the world go round and right and god, it was
inspiration for his college essay. That's how much of an
impact this show has on people. And look, look at
the impact you had on your son, because my son
would not have said that. Therefore I have no son.
So so because we all vote Danielle to be the
(03:30):
coolest moment there is that so also today we have
special guests in the studio Lauren. Of course, most people
are familiar with Laurence. She was on the show for
many years and now she's back as our voiceover talent
and our friend Barbara Hi Barbara Barbara's camera shoy. They're
related and they had not seen each other in fifteen years.
(03:52):
I'm best friends with Barbara and best friends with Lauren,
and I got what we all got them together after
fifteen year hiatus. There were tears there, hugs. It's so cool.
It's good. It's always good to see people that like
always had a good like held a special place in
your heart, but like for whatever the reason, family stuff, whatever,
like you couldn't develop it further at the time, so
(04:13):
it never goes away, like those good feelings always stay. Well,
We're gonna have a nice lunch today, Yeah, Pols going scaries,
free food. He only told you one. Alright, totally open.
What do you guys want to talk about? I don't know.
I'm just still were talking about. Like we had a
(04:35):
conversation the other day and we were talking about guests
that we have in the show, and I said something
to you and you agreed. I'm like, we should only
have guests on that we're genuinely excited about, very good rule.
And I feel like today was the prime example for that,
because what we do is a show is is, like
you were just saying, people get excited about us being excited.
(04:56):
And when we're genuinely excited about someone, that translates through
the air waves, and I feel like it people can
sense that it's a good time you're here. I think
when someone in there like, oh, guys, you should have
this person on because they're like, who gives a ship?
Because show if there's someone that we're genuinely excited about
(05:21):
that translates, people want to hear us having a good time,
that's it. I think I'll have that tomorrow with Jack's
because she grew up listening before American idols. She grew
up in Jersey listening with her parents. Her parents still
listen each and every day. Her dad was on the
air crying that not that her his daughter was on
the air, but he was talking to you, Elvis. I mean, so,
I think we'll have that moment brings them with her.
Her family should bring, she should bring her people. But
(05:44):
I agree, we should only have people on that we're
interested in and they need to fit into the shape
of our show. But on the other hand, there are
people we have yet to meet that we may not
be excited about yet. But we may meet them and
become very excited about them, so we can't start discounting everything.
An example of that is Anthony Romo. So when Anthony
Romos came up here, I think a lot of us
in this room were like, Okay, he was in Hamilton's,
(06:04):
we don't really know him, blah blah blah, came up here.
Blew is the way biggest fan now and love the guy.
So that's a good example. Bill and either side, who
would have thought one of our favorite guests. And I
truly think some of our favorite interviews are with people
that no one knows. Yeah, and so let's just drag
ask people from the street. Well, in that case, I'm
(06:27):
gonna come up with a list of my obscure loves
and then we can all have the weirdest days ever.
You know, it's it's interesting when you interview people for
a living. It's just you know, everyone has a story.
You could pull total strangers off the street and have
an hour long interview with him because they always and
how they answer any question you give them, you find
another question to ask. And you know, one of the
(06:48):
greatest interviewers of all time is Larry King. Someone to
debate that Larry King and Howard strn Here two of
the best interviewers ever. Larry King went in to his
interviews with one question and he started He started the
intervie with one question. They would answer that question and
it would lead to his next question. He would just
listen to what their answers were and formulate the interview.
(07:08):
Did they gave like a dumbass answer that there was
nothing to go on, like what do I do now?
Then you can be like, well, why are you giving
me dumbass answers about discuss why are you being a dumbassy?
You know? The quickest way for Elvis to say no
to a guest is when the publicist goes, well, can
we have your questions in advance? Like a four year
(07:32):
old like Alex Now, is there a dream guest that
you haven't had that you would like to want to get?
Justin Timberlake back in here? Because every time we have
him on there's other circumstances we have to deal with.
And so the last time I interviewed him, we had
to interview for a specials going to run around the country,
and they planted the questions and I agree to do
(07:52):
at that time, because I wanted justin Timberlake in here.
I find him talented, I find him interesting, I find
him so many things. So yes you oh, I mean
I would love to have eminem that is like the
dream interview, but he doesn't do it. It would never happen.
He's just he doesn't do any press ever. No, I
was gonna say basically what Danielle said, like you never know,
(08:12):
like people, maybe later, you don't have to say right now.
You're not doing it right now? What is it? You
put it into existence? And I don't know what Danielle
David we can have back here. I mean, I've been
very lucky because I've had like Ed Sheeran sitting in
(08:34):
that chair like to me is like, oh my gosh,
it's Ed sheering like. And there are certain people. How
stupid is this one of the When I interviewed Clay
Ach and don't laugh, I was the biggest fan of
his and I hid behind someone because I was hypervental. Yes,
everyone I know, but it was Clay Aching. There has
been times where we met someone we really liked and
(08:56):
there was such assholes. There was a show I stopped
watching because the whole cast was a bunch of assholes
when I met me right now? Wasn't it the Catholic Glee? No,
it was a show called Jack and Joe, which you
probably don't even remember. That they came up to do
idea and they were all sitting around and they were just, well,
(09:18):
how does that work out for him? Don't even know
the show. Here's so scary. Always stands right here during
the show, and I hear him, like every one while
there's a like a pause in the action before someone talks.
He goes he's about to say something, thinking with my mouth, Oh,
(09:40):
I think we should have Drake up here. I've been
wanting my entire career. Should we Are you genuinely genuinely
excited to talk to Drake? I would think that this show,
that's the question, be excited to talk to him? The
guy just surpassed the Beatles for like the amount of
number one of songs that have been charted. I d y.
But here's the thing, and we've learned this. I'm not
saying this. It's the case with Drake, but as you said,
(10:03):
the ones you really want to meet the most, and
when you meet him, you're like, oh, yeah, you never
want to meet your idols? Like when I met Barry
madelonwe with my mom as well. Yeah, I wrote about
it in my book. I called him asshole and his
people reached out like Mr Matelote doesn't remember meeting Mr Durant,
Well he did, Yeah, I remember very clearly. Rihanna would
(10:26):
be great. She used to do it. She would only
talk to Elvis. There was a time we were at
some big event and everyone wanted to talk to her
and she said, I'm only talking to Elvis, and she
came back and only talked to us. It was the
cool And then I gave her a piggyback run because
she was smoking Pote. You love her. It looked like, okay,
(10:49):
hold on, you're just white with glasses. That's so much.
I am a woman who's glasses. Yeah, but my hair
is like darker Yours is like a beautiful red Mine's boring.
No offense, Tina Fey, it's just very first, just whispered
in my ear. How do you feel about that? What
did you say? I got a little wood that we
(11:12):
actually passed on Tina fe in her SNL days. We
were all were wating to say, and we passed on her.
I don't know. Back hold on you did talk to
Wait a minute, it's all coming back, okay. When I
was answering the phones here a good jillion years ago,
we did talk to Tina Fey for maybe just on
the phone for like two seconds. But the reason I
(11:34):
remember this, I forgot because I'm obsessed with her and
I've always wanted to meet her in person. And my
friend used to be her personal assistant, and I would
always try to be like, so if you ever like
an extra help. But I remember she called in and
her phone number showed up on the caller I d
and I was like, this would be unethical for me
to accidentally I did not, but I genuinely thought about it.
(11:57):
I forgot. I've done. I've written down phone numbers that pop.
Sharon Osborne's number pop right now. But yeah, you wait,
some of the calls that we've gotten, like so two
things that stay at one. I remember Chevy Chase calling
to do an interview, and I remember us saying to him, Oh,
(12:18):
you're doing the Michelangelo Shoe Awards, What is that all about?
And his answer was, how the funk do I know?
I know they paid me a lot of money, and
we were like, and Joan so here's what God restaur
She was on hold and we had Haraldo Rivera on
the show, so I I was helping produce the show
(12:44):
and doing the guest booking. So I picked up the
phone and I go, hello, Ms Rivers. Listen, we're not
gonna be able to have you on right the second
unless you want to go on with Haraldo because he's
still on. If you wouldn't mind calling us back or waiting.
She screamed at me like, why don't you He's serious
and I'm funny and well, screaming at me where I
(13:04):
said something not nice and hung up the phone. I
love you. Wait, I never knew you said something bad nasty.
She didn't want to go on because her I was
talking about some sad something. But what did you call it?
I don't remember, but she's dead. I know it wasn't nice,
and I hung up that She's looking up at you.
Sorry right now? Did you tell her? Did you like
(13:26):
to funk off something? I wasn't that bad, but it was.
It wasn't nice. It was it was more along the
lines of well, sorry, and then we don't have time
for you now, goodbye. Up the phone. Don't be a hag. Yeah.
I mean, I was like, and then after that, I
was like, she's nasty, She's a fucking bitch. Bollo. Everybody
was like, and now look what you did to her.
(13:46):
God rest her soul. All right, yes, all right, we
gotta get out of here. Thank you to our guest
Lauren and of course Barbara Chris. This is awesome. Thank
you down there. Did you show Kevin from the office
of your shirt and he said, I haven't seen this
one before. I bet he says that's old girls, But
you know what, maybe he made me feel special. Shirt.
(14:08):
It's two shirts. It is. It's the shirt shirt. It's
the basketball episode Eode Scotty Be. We love you in
the room, love you too. All right, thanks, get out
of here. I have a great day, guys. The fifteen
