Speaker 1 (00:03):
What would you talk about on your on your podcasts?
Fifteen minute morning show, the fifteen minute morning show. What
do you want to do? We've got fifteen minutes. Have
a lot of time. It's a lot of time. A craighead, Bob,

(00:26):
what do you want to do? It's sideshow Bob. Elvis
like better. Although it does look like I've been doing crack.
I think we should play around up but her I
love it well. In the butt Hurt room today we
have Garrett looking very very, very tough mine. Here's Dave

(00:48):
Brody looking not so tough but very relaxed. There's Scotty
b who cannot hear a word we're saying, so we
can talk about him if you want. There's Gandhi and
they're scary, and there's that dashing fellow that's me, and
there's Danielle and there's Froggy. Let's go, okay, but Hurt
are you hosting? Here? We go? Hold on, Scary Scary
have to be the announcer. You have to be the
announcer and lead us into ano. There's another round of

(01:12):
but huacial studios of Gotham. So I I wasn't prepared.
I'm sorry he did well, all right, here we go.
The first question. We'll do this like we did before.
I'll ask one particular person the question they answer and

(01:33):
their answer. Whoever that person is has a chance to
give a rebuttal. Are we ready? Yes? All right, let's
go m Elvis. Uh No, I'm gonna go with Froggy. Okay, Okay,
that's I think he's going to give the most impartial response.
Who is the most emotional in this zoomer? Elvis? Elvis

(01:57):
b F What does that mean? Emotional? You tend to
lose it sometimes and you get upset and you're just like,
it's just like, you know what I'm saying a little bit.
You're you're talking about emotional as being like unhinged, but
emotional could be. You know, earlier today when we were

(02:18):
talking to Carla, Marie and Anthony, you were talking to
your kids and you got a little weepy. Why because
you're emotional? So I think you're I don't think it's
a bad thing. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not good.
But you are emotional? All right? Fine? Who except it?
All right? All right, here we go. Let's I'm asked

(02:41):
scary this one? Who would survive the shortest amount of
time on a deserted island. You wouldn't last four minutes
on an eye, not even like that block. Elvis will

(03:03):
be demanding to check into a hotel. No, you couldn't
stand being by yourself, scary. I don't like to be
alone with myself and you'd have no. Yeah, yeah, without
social media, it would be a tie. No, it's not.
It's not a tie. You know I am. I am

(03:23):
a lot more rough around the edges than you would think.
I'm definitely hold during the quarantine scary. Elvis has spent
quite a lot of time alone in his house. He's
been alone. And I have read your book, Elvis, and
you've you've had You've had some interest, you've had You're
a journeyman. You're a journeyman. But we're talking about he
can take care of himself. He could plant some stuff

(03:43):
and sustain himself. You would just yeah, city boy. So
maybe that question me. No, you should have you should
have admitted, oh that's me. It's okay to say yourself. Yeah,
all right, Elvis. I love the waste backpedaling for fear
of offending you. I read your book. You've done some

(04:04):
cool stuff. Your great guy, thank you, sy I'm gonna
go next. So the first person to respond to Elvis
was the answer Scary said, Elvis was the answer to
the question. Now I'm going to give my answer to
this question, who is most likely to have had anal sex? Um? Gosh,

(04:29):
I'm gonna go with Elvis on that one. We are
we playing a game called the answer is Elvis. I
was going I was gonna say, Gandhi, I can disclose
too much. I don't care. I've never done that. The

(04:52):
day is young, Okay, let's move on to the answer
is Elvis. I was I was gonna say, Garrett, you
never know, you never know, all right, Gandhi, who is
the rudest person here? The rudest rudest by The correct

(05:18):
answer was Elvis. What why? Thank you, Gandhi. That's very
nice of you. I'm being rude right right. I think
I think that what it is with Brody though, is
that he likes to like have act your information and

(05:40):
he likes to correct people about it. But sometimes it
comes off as not necessarily being helpful, like just based
on timing, so it comes off as rude. And then
he talks about, you know the way he has with
customer service people, which would be interpreted as rude. So
going with this room, I would go with Brodie. You
know there's a thin line between rude and point of
view of right, Yes, there you go, we go back

(06:05):
to playing. The answer is Elvis like a board. You
have time for your rebuttle, don't you? But the point
to the point? Alright, then Brody, back to the Gandhi.
The answer is Gandhi. By the way, keep in mind,

(06:26):
the name of this game is but Heard, and it
sure is a perfect title for this game. Well, though
not for Gandhi because she hasn't done that. It only
hurts for a minute. I think I know the answer
to your question, Brodie, who has the worst temper? Yeah,

(06:48):
go for it, I'm afraid to say, because they haven't
bad temper. What was the name of this game? Again
the answers in case I'm playing the game. It's not
a bad temper. It's my point of view. I'm allowed

(07:08):
the point of view. Okay, moving on, nothing to see here? Okay,
all right, hang on one second? Oh all right? Uh, Danielle,
I feel like you can answer this one. I don't
think you will, though, but I'm gonna ask you anyways,

(07:30):
who is hold on? Is your loaded way? Why did
you loaded questions? Too nice, Daniels, too nice? I really
feel Oh no, no, no no, no, you can't do that. No,
she's not no, it's not being a bit. That's her
point of view. That's right. Well, Danielle, what is your

(07:50):
point of view on this question? Who is the worst person? Period?
All of who's the worst person? Oh my gosh, this
is a little who just called you a bit? Who
just called you a bit? I don't know if I'm
not a bad person. Is not a bad person. He's

(08:11):
one of my best friends. I can't say. I can't
believe that. Can't hear you, Scotty. I just can't believe
that question is even part of the terrible question. Give
me another question. That's a bad question. You have to answer,
But that's terrible. None of you are bad people. That's

(08:31):
an awful question. A question. Yeah, that question is it's
a little too absolute. Yeah, that's not you know, imagine
a bunch of drunk people playing this game that could
start fights. Yeah, that's that's in there, Scott. He's looking
at the camera and I think he's talking. He thinks
he knows that we're talking about him. All right, question removed.

(08:56):
Here here's your question then, Daniel. Who would sleep with
some buddy else for money? Oh? Um, well, Scotty probably would,
and Scary probably would, both of them. Scary, you was
sleeping someone for money? I've never done that in my life.
You probably would. You probably that was a client. He would,

(09:21):
It was a client, you do it. I would imagine.
Nate always gets money. Yeah, Nate, Nate is the male
prostitute here, Nate charges Heather. Oh my god, I didn't
hear that part. All right, so then I'll say Nate
and Scary forget Scotty, Nate and Scary You see, you

(09:44):
guys are forgetting. I think Garrett would take money for sex. No,
would you pay me? Absolutely? He's from Staten Island. They're all,
They're all I think. See. I think Brody would do
it for free at this point. Oh yeah, you don't
even need the moneyless you owe me something venmo later.
I think it would be Scotty because he was digging

(10:05):
through the trash for cans the other day for okay,
prostitute a um, Garrett, I think he's Garrett. Right here
we go, Who in this zoom room is most likely
to die alone. Scary, scary? Finish the question he answer.

(10:33):
I always picture him, like Greg t used to say,
on the porch, in the rocking chair, all by himself.
He has a heart attack and he keels over in
the rocking chair and I just see his feet like
this and nobody comes. That is very, very graphic. I'd
like to think that I'd have a next of kin
like my nephews around me or something. Well, here's what

(10:56):
I suggest. You always say you want to get a cat.
Keep in mind when you die alone, the it's gonna eat.
You understand that that's the possibility. And then the police
come there, I like, where is he? And then the
cats are just walking around the house and they'll just
assume scary one out the eat. We'll get you a
medical alert bracelet. Don't worry scary, Yeah, okay, I can't Garrett.

(11:19):
Is Garrett freezing up for everyone? Or just I'm buffering?
Kids are watching Paw Patrol? Did I get everybody? Or
did I not do? You didn't give me one, Elvis,
even though I was the answer for most of them.
But of your jokes, Okay, Elvis, who is the worst person? Period?
Go you you alright? Nate, ask yourself a question. Oh

(11:45):
I think I did okay? Elvis here, who is the
most out of shape? Uh? I would say now probably me? No, Well,
Scotty walked up to me to dance. What do you
think of my titties? Are they getting bigger? I'm gonna

(12:07):
say it's Scotty even though he can't hear it. Look
at him push buttons. He's eating an awful lot of
syria if you if you ask me who is in
the best shape, I somehow look at Danielle because I
know that she she pelotons a lot. But also but

(12:27):
Garrett's been going to the gym, you know, looking out
carrots and working out a lot. Daniel First, I'll take
a second. I'm not in the best shape. I'm okay shape.
Those sorts are currently unbuttoned as I'm sitting down, because
it was just you need an add a button the

(12:49):
best much? How much time do we have? Two minutes?
Is stretch a shape or no? Because my clothes are
stretched there in that shape and I'm stowing to purposely
grow in a beard. For all the shading on my
face so you can't really see the second chin still
looks like I have one chin. That's a trait, Brody,

(13:10):
have you gained or lost weight? Are you still about
the same as at the very beginning? Somehow I'm the
exact same way, which is not great, but it's the
same way. Good for you? Good for you? Yeah, that's great. Well,
I swim like crazy right now. So I have an
uplifting question for everybody. Who is the most inspirational? I'm

(13:30):
gonna say Elvis, Elvis, Yeah, Elvis, definitely, I would agree Scary.
I don't know what does that mean? Why do you
aspire to be like scary? What is it exactly that

(13:51):
you want to do? If I may come on, frog,
doesn't everybody? If I could end up dying alone, who
wouldn't want to do that? You feel like, say, that's
a rude comment. One could I'm not one could be,
you know, if anyone needed it? And the butet to
you be quiet today? That's just your point of view.

(14:16):
Und the question what oh no, no, I'm sorry minus
exit only ill you right now? Answer? Thank you very much.
You don't even need to ask. You already know. Yeah,
you don't need that. The last personal thank you. This

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
