Speaker 1 (00:02):
What would you talk about on your on your podcast
firms fifteen minute morning show. I don't know where to start.
I mean, we had such a very interesting show today. Uh,
and some of it's going to bleed over into the
podcast with Valentine's Day tomorrow, Like what text do you
(00:28):
want to send your ex? But you know you shouldn't
and we request you send it to us instead. We
saw a lot of sad and funny and slicing things
on the text messages, didn't we I mean it was
very sad stuff. I actually got a little uncomfortable reading
some of those. Yeah, those are the funny ones. Some
of the people like their hearts have been broken forever.
(00:48):
I'm like, oh god, I really don't want to see this.
This is pulling back the curtain too far. Yeah. A
lot of emotion, a lot of raw emotion. We'll get
into that a minute. All right, who's sitting around the
fifty minute morning show podcast fall like a table? We
have Danielle, we have Garrett, we have Brody, the ever
so beautiful Gandhi Um and Scary alright, Scary he's got
(01:12):
a puss on his face. I'm scary if Scary had
a puss on his face. He wouldn't come to work. Hey,
before we lose him, is my assistant Andrew around? Uh?
Never when you need him. If you notice that he's
never around when you need it. I want to talk
to about I'll talk to you about his upcoming trip
(01:33):
to Japan. Yeah. I think he's in the other room
recording something. Probably grab him. I bet someone could grab him. Yeah,
it'd be great. In the meantime, we got a text
message submission for a phone tap request that we will
not fulfill. Is it really bad? What is it here?
It comes from area code eight O four. My dad
(01:53):
is in a nursing home. I think it would be
a great phone tap to call my sister in law
and tell her he's gone missing. That's good, that's terrible. Actually,
that's funny. It's funny for us to discuss. I wouldn't
think the execution was in a nursing home. I'm trying
to think that's a no. That's a terrifying phone Remember
(02:17):
Daniel Beck. In the old days, we would get request
for phone taps. Can you call my mom and tell
her at school? I got hit my bus and I died.
My mom, I was kidnapped, and you want ransom. Exactly. No,
we're not going to do that phone tap on your mom?
What's up? My dad used to make me do that
to my mom in real life. He would be like,
lay on the floor right here. I'm gonna put catch
(02:38):
up all over the floor. When your mom comes in,
don't move, she's gonna think you fell and hit your head.
We're getting a clearer picture of how Gandhi became God. Exactly.
It was on my dapple. Didn't fall far from the
tree anyway. Did we find Andrew? He's going poopy. That's weird.
(02:58):
I never thought of Andrew someone who died that everybody.
Can we start the story anyway? He has planned this
incredible vacation to Japan, and he's he's so excited. He's
been planning this for months and months and months. He's
supposed to take off. I think what tonight? Yeah yeah, yeah, well, um,
(03:20):
because of this global crisis called coronavirus. Uh, there have
been a few cases in Japan apparently allegedly, right, I mean,
are they confirmed one person has passed away from it? Yes,
in Japan, and keeping on. Japan is a massive country
and it's far away from China. But you know, a
few cases have been have been confirmed. Well, his mom
(03:43):
and dad are so upset about him going to Japan,
they're willing to pay him money to stay home. M
that's amazing. I kind of think you should take the
money because they don't know what he paid for. He
could off charge him and make a profit a harder
vacation to Japan next time, don't know. That's one of
our headlines for our podcast. When he gets in here
after his poopy, I hope he he washes his hands.
(04:05):
All employees must wash hands. I just saw him walk by.
He should be coming in very shortly. Yeah, let's get
to the bottom of there is everybody else going for
vacation while we're waiting for him. I am going to
watch out now Detroit for a few days, leeting out
with the boyfriend, and then I'm going to see my
parents in Florida for the rest. You should You need
to make good because your boyfriend came to visit you
this past week and he was sick the whole week.
(04:26):
Oh god, was he sick. I thought there was a
moment so he wanted me to put my hands on
his neck because my hands were so warm, and I
thought about choking him. Second, he ruined your time with him?
How dare He wasn't so much the ruined time. It
was just like, I need you to get better and
it's not happening. And you know how men are with
man colds. Oh yeah, god, and I was like, my
(04:48):
hands the right there, scary. What are you doing for vacation? Well,
the first half I'm just gonna hang around and then
I'm going to go to Columbia. On Wednesday, I'm going
to be and meta meta and uh maybe they trip
to Cartacania. Beautiful. I've heard it's gorgeous. So the first
half of the week you're doing client meetings and in
(05:11):
the last half of the week going to Columbia. That's beautiful. No, no,
I'm off. I'm just gonna sleeping. Take advantage of that
blackout shade I finally got installed, which, by the way,
I told people this is everyone should get a blackout shade.
Is that for your fan? Oh god? Yeah? For the
sound proof that Nate, What are you doing for vacation?
I am going to the Bahamas with my lovely fiance
(05:33):
and then I'm going to Madrid, Spain to see my friends.
Does he know just in case of he I will
educate it. You wait, do they have strokes in in Spain?
I think they called him something else. Okay, Garrett, what
are you doing for vacation? I am going on our
Norwegian Bliss to the Bahamas, So Nate when I dock,
(05:55):
if you want to come hang out with my family
and babysit my kids on the baby are showers kids. Yes,
that sounds like fun though. We love Bliss and uh, Brody,
what are you doing? I'm gonna go for a few
days to go visit my daughter up in college. I
haven't seen her in a month and a half. So
she has a new apartment. I'm gonna go visit. We're
gonna hang out and eat and dine and whatnot. And Nanna,
(06:16):
I think me and the fan may hit a water
park in Danielle. So my friend has a beach house
down the Jersey Shore, and I know that it's not
beach weather, but we're the two families are going to
stay in the beach house for four or five days
and just relax, play games, watch movies, go to a
couple of restaurants that are actually open, go to the arcade,
(06:39):
and just relax. Down the Jays for the kids are
gonna play soccer on the beach. I love that. I
love going to uh go into the beach in the winter.
I think it's it's because it's it's all yours basically,
What about you, el, I'm here, I'm Santa Fe for
another week. I'll be here just relaxing and uh not
waking up at two thirty in the freaking morning. Hey,
(07:00):
so has Andrew joined us? Okay, so, Andrew, we already
set it up. You are scheduled to fly out to Japan.
What tonight? Early tomorrow? Early tomorrow? Yes, And even though
there have been several confirmed cases of the coronavirus in
Japan and there has been one fatality when death, actually, um,
do you still want to go? Right? Yeah? I mean
(07:20):
I've really looked up what like I actually need to
know about this virus. I feel I want to Let's
start with it. Let's start with a trip. Talk about
how long you've been planning Japan and what you're looking
forward to and why it means so much to you.
I've had several bucket list places I've wanted to go
in my life. Japan has always always been on that list.
I've done Australia, New Zealand. Those were huge trips for me.
(07:41):
Now it was time for Japan. I'm it's just once
in a lifetime type of place that I just felt
a calling and needing to go to. So I planned it,
and you've been online. You've been planning the whole thing,
and you know exactly where you're gonna stay, and you're
gonna get from point to day to point b. So, uh,
your mom and dad said what to you? They said
they had to sit down with me this week. We're
(08:07):
Italian slash Greek, so you know you have to have
sit down so when we want to get things done,
and they were they might. They put it plainly, They're like,
we'll buy you out of your trip. Just don't go
and join buying you out that means just reimbursing your
out of out of pocket expenses. So far, Yes, so
my flight and my Airbnb and I'm with a friend. Yeah,
(08:28):
they are convinced it's that bad, and to which I say,
it is not. And I am still going, oh you are,
So you have have you told them you are still
planning on being on that plane tomorrow morning. You're going
to give your mother a heart attack. I know, but well,
now you're going with a friend, would they buy the
friend out to see you? Well, it's my friend and
(08:49):
his girlfriend, so I don't want them to go by themselves.
We planned this as a group. I feel like I
have to see this through. What else am I going
to get to go to Japan when there's no coronavirus?
So are they afraid? Not of what's happening now, but
what could escalate while you're there? I mean, there are
there are many ways to look at this. My dad
is very, very serious when it comes to traveling, especially
(09:12):
for me going out. He always makes sure to send
me a guy's number. That's the only thing I could say.
And it's like, if you're ever in trouble, just call
this number, like take you guys have a guy. Yeah,
it seems very like Liam Neeson. Yeah, it's very Liam
Neeson ESK And so the problems he has no guy
in Japan. Uh, there is actually a guy in Japan,
but I had to find out where the embassy was
(09:34):
in order to get to the guy. I would pay
to see this movie. Dad James Bond, to be honest,
Growing up, I thought this because he would always go
away and I'd be like, where is he going? Wow?
So what do you guys think about this? If you
were his mom or dad, or if you were Andrew,
what would your decision be with a plane taking off
(09:54):
tomorrow morning, with your dreams taking off without you? I'd go,
I'd go. If I was your parents, I would tell
you not to go. If I was you, I would go. Yeah. Yeah,
I don't think you should have told your parents in
the first place, Nashville. I don't know. Six Flags Post
Pictures are gonna always in Japan. They're going to give
(10:14):
them a number for the wrong There's sometimes you don't
tell your parents what you're doing. This is one of
those going to Japan. You know he's very close to
his parents. Yeah, yeah, don't say that to podcast. What
do you think? I think he should absolutely go. I
think the rate of mortality is low enough that he
can risk it. And the country. The country is, like
(10:38):
you said, it's a large country. I shouldn't go on
the trains where they shove everybody together and mash you
up and smash you up against people. Fun fact, I
am going on one of those traps. Then I'm with
your parents, don't go, and I'm scared shitless of everything.
So I'm that I wouldn't go. I'll just say this though,
so coming back could be a problem. They might maybe
they might make you stay away from work for two weeks,
(10:59):
which I feel like is kind of something you would want.
Should we quarantine Andrew vacation? I thought that was what
we had to do again in Japan. I don't know
about Japan. I know for a fact it is not
CDC issued. Whatever I think, Japan is not a risk,
kind of risk at all. The Japanese Tourism board and
(11:21):
health boards are all saying it's not there. It's of
course they say that because they don't want to devastate
their tourism. But I will tell you this isn't there. Okay,
this may be an unpopular opinion. Isn't there something intriguing
about going now more than ever? Yeah, I'm a hundred
percent on your side on that one. Elvis. I think
the people so maybe you'll because they're dying, the lines
(11:45):
are shorter. Maybe as far as tourism goes and getting
into the country, if it turned on by masks, it's
a great time ago. The only thing that frightens me
is if there is God forbid some sudden burst of
outbreak when it's time for you to travel home, and
then you can't travel. That's the only thing that I
would be worried about. And aren't you going aren't you
going to the Disney Yeah, Tokyo Disneyland. So that'll be
(12:06):
the one thing that freaks me out is all of
a sudden, you wake up one morning and you've been
quarantined to your room and you can't get off the ship.
He's got a guy's not on a ship. Yeah, I'm
not on a ship. But I still say, you know
what Japan is not China. I say, do it, Andrew,
(12:26):
because you're gonna come back. And you say, oh my god,
I get this great story. I went to Japan during
the coronavirus outbreak and I didn't get it. It was amazing.
I say, take the money from your parents and go
someplace out. I just have a feeling I'm gonna come
back and Danielle of all people, is gonna be walking
around like, oh, I can't see you, can't see you. Yeah,
I'm gonna have a mask conference straight with disinfected. I
(12:48):
think I asked you before, I gonna ask you again.
Your parents response to you insisting on going is what
it pretty much was, just like, Okay, we can't. You
can't cancel the trip for me. I'm still going to go,
so my money at all? What was their response? What
they say to you? My mom really was just like
is this something like you actually really need to do?
(13:10):
Like now you can't just wait, like think about this,
like there's an outbreak, like people are dying from a virus.
You really want to go, like really trying to guilt
trip me, which every fact you could throw at them
was just like no, you shouldn't be going, right, Just don't.
At least they love you, because you know, they could
have been like, go you, why does it change your
trip and go to China? If they said that, I
(13:33):
really would have been like, huh, great, it sounds like
that your resolve is gonna win out and you are
definitely gonna go and there you there you have it.
I'm going would Elvis were should people send their resumes
to be a new assistant? Well, they've already been sending those.
You're gonna have so much fun, Andrew, I'm jealous. I'm excited.
(13:56):
I'm jealous too, And I really think that us being
so far away world away from Japan. We don't We
don't really appreciate how safe it really is going to
be for you. So yeah, on the other hand, nice
knowing you have fun. There's two endings to this podcast.
It's nice knowing you or I can't wait to see
you when you're back. Yeah. Well, you know what, everyone
loves a cliffhanger. So as we get close to the
(14:17):
end of this podcast, we will leave for vacation and
be back in a week and we'll know, well soon
after that, we'll know if if Andrew is a goner.
They do the Serial Killers podcast, right, So I was
sitting in on the last one and they take ahead
of time, so it's gonna air when we get back
from vacation. So Scott, he's like, hey, Andrew, welcome back
(14:38):
from Japan. How was it? In my head? I'm like, oh,
what if he doesn't come back from Japan? You better
need alternate beginning to this Corona Crunch. All right, Well,
have a beautiful time out, enjoy Japan, and you don't
bring any up. The fifteen Minute Morning Show
