Speaker 1 (00:01):
Get your head us together and we're going to start
to party and start part I'm ready to party the
Elvis DA Ran after Party.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
All right, let's hop into podcast. Hi everybody back there.
And I don't know what day you're listening to this,
but for us doing this, it's a Monday, Monday morning,
back from the weekend. Nice little birthday party for Froggy
then in Jacksonville to celebrate his fiftieth birthday. That was
a lot of fun. A lot of us are traveling yep.
Of course delayed because there were delays these days with
(00:36):
the government shut down. And you know there's always a
delay government shut down or not, so it works anyway. Hi, guys,
how are you feeling?
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Good day here?
Speaker 4 (00:47):
I'm little tired.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
It is gorgeous blue skies. It's a beautiful, crisp fall day.
I think we have some good weather here down where
Froggy lives in Jacksonville, ont. A rain, of course, in
a Hurricane Melissa. Today's Hurricane Melissa day. It's heading right
towards your makeup. Do you ever describe a summer day?
Is crisp? No?
Speaker 3 (01:04):
No summer no, because it's not crisp. No.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Spring day is crisp. Tell me you're the one that
said it's that smell.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
It's that smell and that feel.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
To me, crisp is like a yeah, crisp is something
like a cookie. I think I've only ever described fall
as crisp.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
Well, you think of leaves falling in there, get that
crispy sound.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
It's more than that.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
I think crisp can be winter.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
And spring too. It's crisp spring day. I've never I'm
going to look up crisp in the Merriam Webster. Okay,
it's like a white sheet flying on the clothes line.
That's crisp Autumn. Is it crisp?
Speaker 5 (01:46):
I'm thinking I'm thinking cold weather for crisp. So winter fall, fall,
fall is crisp fall and yeah fall.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Well, the AI Overview has a definition of a crisp day,
but not what is it. It's a one with a
pleasantly cool, fresh and dry weather, often associated with the
bright and invigorating feeling of autumn, but pleasantly cool, fresh
and dry weather could be really any time.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Okay. Merriam Webster says fresh invigorating, crisp autumn air a
crisp white wine. I'm trying to figure out how crisp
applies to this. Jim Me, crisp is like a cracker.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
You know, you never noticed that fall though? Has that
smell in the air like that? I feel like it's
that crisp smell.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
I don't know, it's weird. Yeah, this crisp thing has
us torn the English language once again, not even understanding
any you know. Speaking of the weather, it's getting colder
and colder. We're heading toward Christmas. We're talking about what
two months away, less.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
Than I was telling Nate. I'm like, I could not
wait because soon New York City is going to look
beautiful with the lights and the sound and the h
You see.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
It's funny how you described New York City as beautiful
during Christmas holidays and Nate as the old man in
the room here comb the crowds. You wait, baby, you
just can't get anywhere. Do you remember that one year
I could not get within five blocks of the Rockefeller
Christmas Tree. H not you could. It was a sea
(03:23):
of humanity. You can't even get near the There.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
Is a good time to go ten am in the morning,
good time to I'm just saying, if you want a time,
but nobody's there. That's a good time.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
You know.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
Social media has put a spotlight on everything, all the
attractions over the last five to ten years, and so
everything is overcrowded. Now there are no secrets anymore. In fact,
I just sent Danielle a DM on Instagram of the
top new foods at Winter Village at Bryant Park. So like,
so now there's gonna be lines around the freaking block.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
But there always is. But there's also days that you
can go to the Winter Village that is not as crowded.
I swear to you there are.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Well, if that's the thing. Here's the thing about Rockefeller
Center is it's a huge place for tourists and for
people who live here who want to go see the tree.
It's also place a place where people work. I mean,
like us, we have to walk from here to you know,
from point to point b. It is happens. There's a
big tree and the crowd in the middle of it.
See you know, so this is why Nate's all mad.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
But think about this, guys. We work where so many
people want to visit. We work where people are dying
to see that tree every year, and it's a staple
in the world. Everyone knows that tree. We can walk
through that traue.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
You're saying we take it for granted.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Yes, totally.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Danielle is positive about this.
Speaker 6 (04:42):
And by the way, Nate, do you remember a few
months ago I had mentioned that my girlfriend has a
massive tree on her property and how do you get
it to the Rockefeller Center. Yeah, so somebody heard that
and got in touch with us, and they sent the
head gardener from Rockefellers her to her farm to look
at it and measure it, and and it is six
(05:04):
to ten feet too short, but they kept it on
file and they said they generally grow ten feet a year.
So they're gonna get back in touch with her next
year and see if.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
It is the way that they wanted to go would be.
Isn't that cool? That'd be cool? That is cool. Can
you imagine having your tree chosen? That's that's so awesome.
The world watches that tree.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
Do you think you give like VIP access that I
would hope.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
So, I would hope, because you don't get paid. Yeah,
you know what to do it? You know, I'm gonna
do this shit. I'm gonna go to the Rock and
Feller tree and stand next to some visitors and they
go Hey, that's from our yards. Oh my god, you're
gonna take a picture of tree. They got to give
you free ice skating for the season.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
I want to know where they keep the weaves that
they use for the tree, because they always add those
fake branches and they've got to be humongous in the attic.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Where are they in the attic?
Speaker 2 (05:58):
They keep it?
Speaker 4 (05:58):
Where they keep the parade and you know, for the
mazing Thanksgiving?
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Like why you're driving through you see all these decorations,
these massive like you know, snowballs.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Whatever.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Where do they keep all this?
Speaker 7 (06:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
There's a big old garage in there somewhere.
Speaker 4 (06:13):
The Halloween decoration.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
When you talk about the weave and the rock and
Feller Christmas tree, I think I like two girls gonna
be a fighting putting each other's weaves out without anyway. Yeah,
let us know if your girlfriend's tree grows anymore. I
hope not so. I mean, are you all planning on
going to see the tree, like Garrett, do you go
see the tree every year? Or are you one of those.
Speaker 7 (06:37):
Oh yeah, no, we we are. I mean the kids
still see it on My kids see it on TV
and they're like, can we see it, and it's hard
to say, like yes, we can easily say no, but
it's like we're right there. We're twenty five minutes from
the city, so during the weekend we hop in the
car and pay a billion dollars to get into the city.
But then we see it and then we exit really quickly.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Yeah, so I mean, gandhi, are you going to walk
to the tree trying to look at it at night
when the lights turn on, because that's when it's at
it's most beautiful and crowded.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
Absolutely, I try to see it every single year because
I never wanted to get lost on me how cool
this place is, because this was somewhere that I always
wanted to be when I was a little kid, and
now I'm here with the best job ever. So I
just try to remind myself all the time, like, hey,
this is as cool as you thought it was going
to be, and the tree's part of that.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Look at that. What about you, Danielle?
Speaker 4 (07:22):
Of course you know me. I love to me live
other than the UK. This is the place I want
to be. I love it. I know I was born here,
but it still is the most special place and walking
around and seeing it through I love like when I'm
coming out of our parking garage and there's a family
with their kids and they've never been here before, and
it's the holidays and they're so excited. I love chatting
(07:43):
with them and finding out what they're most excited about.
It's just it's just it's magical here, and especially magical
here during the holidays.
Speaker 7 (07:51):
Elvis, you know what I equated to, Like, you talk
about it all the time walking down Main Street, that
feeling you get when you walk down to Main Street
in Disney World, when you yeah, when you see the tree,
it brings you to like that moment. For me, it's
like the home alone moment where where Kevin goes to
the tree to find and his mom happens to be
there and it's like that Christmas feeling. So you see
that tree, you're in the holiday spirit right there.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
Well, let me add a little bones to that. Make
sure you stop by, uh and see the rocket doing
the rocket fielder. Yeah, Christmas. What is it called Christmas show?
I think it's a hundred years. It's one hundred years.
Some of the rockets are about one hundred years. Those
gals are still kicking. Uh. That's that to me is
(08:32):
Christmas in New York going to see the rocket Feller Christmas,
the rock Feller Christmas Tree, and the Rockets Christmas Spectacular.
So I think it's already playing, isn't it starts soon?
Speaker 4 (08:40):
I think it's starts soon.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
Yeah. I heard that they added a couple of scenes
this year. So even if you've seen it, you haven't
seen it. Did yeah, wow, okay.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
I still have never seen it. I want to.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Yeah, let's go.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
The best Nativity at the end. I don't care what
religion you are. That is the most the living Nativity,
that beautiful, just way. Oh you can smell them.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
Those camels crap all over the place, they really do.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
We have animals.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
We've been backstage many years and they it's all sorts
of livestock walking around, crapping everywhere. But it's a part
of the show. But you know, here's the thing. I
love Radio City because Real City Music Hall, because it's history,
and I love that building. I studied it when I
was in class, you know, years ago. Whatever you forget.
There's two big, huge pipe organs hidden in the walls
(09:28):
on the left and the right, and they only open
them up during the Christmas spec Tacle. They have dueling
pipe organs, so cool, and the lights come on and
they roll out and they play them. Yeah, it's insane.
Radio City Music Hall. I love the place. And they
say it is as haunted as f Oh yeah, sounds good,
(09:49):
Jerry haunted and you know how haunted f can be.
Are we done here? Like everyone in the Christmas spirit?
Because here it comes, Danielle, We're almost done with Halloween
and then we rolled into the Red and Green.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
Okay, this is the best time of year because it's
all about the holidays and it's just it's special all around.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
And Hanukkah and all of the celebrations that are going
on at the end of the year. We love it
all right, I think we're done. Yeah, awesome, Merry Christmas.
