Speaker 1 (00:01):
Get your head us together and we're going to start
to party and start part I'm ready to party.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
The Elvis Duran After Party.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
It's the After Party Podcast. Hi y'all, how y'all doing well?
You got a full house. There's Danielle and Scary and
Nate and Gandhi and Garrett is here. Scotty B will
be joining us in and out. Let's get go in
as we prepare as we produce this podcast. We're freshly
back from two weeks vacation and we talked about it

(00:36):
a little bit on our show, but you know, I
wanted to get a little deeper about vacation. And I'm
the reason when I'm talking about it is not just
because of our vacation what we experience, but when you
go on vacation, do you ever stop at the end
and go, m here's the one big headline from this
vacation that totally blew me away. So we'll start here,
like Nate, for you, you were in London with your

(00:58):
brothers and that, but what one thing happened did you
not expect? Maybe? Okay, it really really made you happy.
So on the way.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Back, on the flight back, I had a great time
and I get to the airport, I check in and
I'm looking around and you know, over there in European
countries they have the little segmented gates where you're in
this little gate area and you're cut off from the
rest of society basically. So I'm sitting there and I'm
looking around. I'm like, doesn't seem like a lot of people.

(01:25):
We're all the people for this flight. And it was
boarding in five minutes. So now the boarding announcement comes
on and instead of doing the first class passengers or
whatever's hello, please if you have your boarding pass if
does it matter your boarding section, just come on in?

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Like what that? What?

Speaker 4 (01:43):
What I did not experience?

Speaker 3 (01:44):
So I get up and I'm literally the first person
I go.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
I'm like zone four.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
I'm like, okay, come on in, mate.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
It was so undersold.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Everybody had poor man's first class, so I had three
seats to myself, so they just spread out.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Yeah, they say, okay.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Sit in your assigned seat to start, because apparently I
didn't know this. They have you sit in certain seats
so the weight on the plane is adjusted accordingly so
they can take off. They but then you know, they
get on the thing and they're like, God, all right,
as soon as we take off, feel free to stretch
out and go find a row of your own seats
and enjoy it.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
It was so unexpected.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
You know, I got just the cheapest seat on the plane.
But here I am, I'm I'm stretching out, you know,
asking how many meals do I want?

Speaker 1 (02:38):
It was incredible, totally unexpected. That's unusual, especially during you know,
July fourth holiday season with yeah, you have thirty billion
people trying to fly into one airport at one time. Crazy.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
So yeah, I was unexpected and totally appreciated. So thank you,
virgin What about you, Danielle.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
So while we were on Raccoon Island, you could hear
through the trees a storm was coming right and you
kayak over to the island on the tour that I
went on. So the tour guide says, Okay, we've got
a choice. We can either wade out the storm here
on the island, or we can try to book it back.
We've got about ten to fifteen minutes before the storm comes.

(03:17):
Every one in the tour was like, we're booking it back.
Everybody jumped in their kayaks and was paddling as fast
as they could, but about five minutes before we got
to the to the port, the I mean, I'm not
even kidding you, monsooning on top of us. It was insane.
So my son Spencer decides to take out his phone
and put on Captain Jack's Sparrow music and he is

(03:42):
rowing and he's recording himself with Pirates of the Caribbean
music going It's awesome. We had the best time and
it was so unexpected because we didn't know the storm
was gonna come, and we didn't know we were gonna
do this, and we were. It was so we were soaked.
My hat got drenched, it was ruined.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
I not care.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
I will never forget it. We have the best time
ever and the videos are fantastic.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
We get so scared of rain. Rain's fun. No, it
was awesome. It was alighting, isn't But rain is good? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, no,
I love playing in the rain. What about you, Garrett?
Where'd you go? And what's surprised?

Speaker 5 (04:14):
You went to Mexico? Plymu Harris and we taught the
kids a little something about life, I guess. So we're
on a parasl and the tour guides just bringing us
out into the middle of the ocean and it is
turtle mating season. So trying to explain to a ten
year old and a seven year old what the turtles
are doing right there was was very interesting. So they

(04:37):
got national geographics live in the flesh right there. But yeah,
a lot of turtles are very horny right now in Mexico.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Oh my gosh, that's so funny.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Did you get any action later on? Did the turtles
turn around?

Speaker 3 (04:51):
No?

Speaker 5 (04:51):
One was turned on by the turtle. They're very ugly
when they're doing it, like like ugly, Like I wouldn't
I wouldn't want a turtle on the back of me
like that.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Wow. Oh.

Speaker 5 (05:01):
And also I went to Islam Mouharris, which is like
a ten minute boat ride from Plia Mouharris, and that's
where fire Festival was supposed to happen. There was no
way in hell that thing was ever gonna happen. The
whole joke on the island was no way, Jose because
I asked him about it and they said impossible, never
was gonna happen. There's only one hotel, the rest are Airbnb's.

(05:23):
It's a golf cart you know island, So there's really
no cars. There's no way to get like a stage
out there. So I mean just to see where it
was going to be and how it was never going
to happen was kind of like validation for me that,
you know, I was on the right side of history
for that one.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
So next year he'll announce another one and it won't happen. Yeah,
what about you, scary, What big surprise did you run
into on your vacation. Well, you know, I did go to.

Speaker 6 (05:48):
Jamaica and we went to Montego Bay and we stayed
in Novilla with my family for like seven days. But
this real surprise came when we wanted to go on
an excursion to beaches to actually tonagrill and and and
our friends at Sandals Beaches said why don't you come
over to the resort for a day, bring the family.
So we showed up at Beaches and they like rolled

(06:11):
out of the red carpet for us. They put they
literally there's a place called seven Mile Beach in the Grill,
which is obviously one of the best beaches in the world.
So that stretch of beach beaches is on that some
of that property and and oh my god, I've never
seen a beach with such powdery sand and beautiful water before.
So that was an unexpected treat. So I have to

(06:33):
thank our friends at Beaches for that opportunity. But they
hosted my family and I for the afternoon and they said,
the kids are gonna run rapid, let them go on
the water slides and everything. So we had a family
fun day from our family fund trip. So it was
kind of like the trip within the trip. It was
an excursion. I did not go down a water slide.

Speaker 5 (06:53):
I've never seen you on one.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
You and you won't. There's something that scary as calves
that are so big they dry out the water. He stops,
stops and screeches to a halt. But well, by the way, beaches, Uh,
we've got great news that beaches in the Yeah, girl
coming up, so just keep listening for that. What about you, Gandhi?

Speaker 4 (07:12):
Unexpected? I would say a surf lesson that we took.
We were just at the beach and it looked like
a lot of fun and there was a little sign
that said surf lesson, so we.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Said, okay, let's do this. Uh.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
I caught no waves, I caught some air. I heard
you're not supposed to do that when you're surfing. Of course,
Brandon's ass was able to surf like no problem. So annoying.
And then we got scooters and scooted around the city
when we were in Lisbon, and scooters have always made
me nervous. I just feel like, oh my god, someone's
gonna hit me with a car or I don't know
how to control this thing. But it was so fun.
By the end of the trip, I was doing jumps.

(07:46):
It was great. So Scooby and surfing, those were the two,
you know what.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Also, and Lisbon they have these these little go karts.
It's a two person go cart that you can go
around the city in. But it's but you have to
stay with others. I mean, it's like we did that
to Lisbon. So great. I'm so glad you loved it.
This is all great stuff you guys experienced on your vacation,
Well what was yours? Come on, I had so many

(08:10):
great moments in Italy. It was unexpected. What happened that
you were like thirty years ago in Posttano. I became
really good friends with Angela, who's from that area. She's
from Posatano and we kept in touch over the years,
but I have not seen her in so many years.
She came to New York once with her husband and
a friend and we went to Radio City Music Hall

(08:31):
for the Christmas Spectacular and and Thanksgiving with her. We've
become friends. We became really good friends thy starting thirty
years ago. She's totally surprised us. She came and showed
up and I've I cried my eyes out because she
is such a wonderful human being and she loves me.
I can feel love for her as well. And we
just we hung out with her all day with our

(08:52):
other friends, and I don't know, it was just a moment.
It really had nothing to do with post Aitano, but
it had everything to do with pos Atano, you know. Yeah,
and that was awesome being in such a wonderful place
on the opposite end of the world, I guess. And
then someone you really love and I've seen it in
yours shows up, mind blown. Yeah, Wow, it was great.

(09:13):
That's awesome. I could go on and on.

Speaker 5 (09:15):
I would watch that movie on Netflix.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Which it's gonna be out soon. Look, you know, So,
I guess the bottom line here is when you go
on vacation, it's more than just you know, going on
tours of museums, and it's more than you know going
out to eat every night. It's also you know, what
did you learn from the culture? What did you eat
that made you go wow? Okay, I understand why they
make it that way because they didn't have certain things
back in those days to make this dish the other way.
And you learn about history and stuff like that. So

(09:40):
go out, immerse yourself into these incredible spots, have a
good time, and look out for those little surprise things.
You'll be surprised at how how surprised you'll be. If
that makes sense. It does.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
But it's nice to see all of you again. It
actually feels kind of.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Good to your faces.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (09:57):
I think I found Michael Jackson too.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
The eyes.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Okay, what I thought he was Marshmallow.

Speaker 5 (10:04):
No, he the radio station plays IDs like he's still alive,
and he says the radio station name, what huh.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Yeah, maybe he's alive in Mexico. He's in Kancuon.

Speaker 5 (10:15):
I found him.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Guys, please please Texas and let us know if you know.
All right, let's get out of here, have a great day.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Thanks for listening to the Elvis ter Lan after party.
