Speaker 1 (00:03):
What would you talk about on your on your podcast
Fine Elvis fifteen show. You know, we're always exchanging information
about stuff we see in the news, and yeah, like,
oh my gosh, that's an interesting when we got to
get to that on the show, got to talk about it, Gandhi,

(00:23):
you sent me something like a week or two ago,
and I was like, well, I don't think we want
to talk about this on the show, or should we?
It's so weird. I'm like, we're bringing it up anywhere.
It's yeah, you tell them about the game. Listen to this.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
So it's basically something you.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Would see in Black Mirror, straight out of sci fi
creepy stuff. It is a virtual reality game where if
you die in the game, the headset kills you in
real life.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
What exactly what she said?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Play that?

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Because some people are just so dedicated to this. I
guess you if you think you're the gamer of gamers,
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
I would never in a million years.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Well yeah, yeah, it's like a Russian roulette thing. I mean,
it's the thrill of the possibility that you're going to die,
but there's the rush of not dying and winning is
even greater that A lot of people need that in
life because obviously they they're bored.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
I guess right, I guess so you need this thrill.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
It's apparently based on a Japanese anime game. It's called
Sword Art Online, and you have to fight your way
through like one hundred floor dungeon. Then you escape this
mad scientist virtual world, and they're saying that they have
these things like sensors, lasers, beams, whatever aimed at your
head from the actual gear.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
So when you die in the game, they all just
kind of zap your brain.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
What wait, okay, what is the method of execution?

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Is it electrocution? Happens the magess of little lasers that
burst your brains?

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Yeah, basically, it just overwhelms your brain.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
I'm trying to figure out the exact way because I
don't want to get does wrong and tell people the
wrong information.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
But yeah, yeah, it's not like it it shoots like
little ice picks into your ears and your brain.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Right, Yeah, there's no ice picks. We don't think there
are any bullets involved.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
It's just an overwhelming electrical sensation that is too much
for your brain to handle.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Wow, this is why we need toys r us around still,
you know, what I'm saying, we don't have a place.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
To buy Barbie. Why can't we just.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Do I'll be honest, if the threat of death was,
you know, a possibility, I would probably play that game
to my best ability. If I knew I could possibly die,
I would be the best at that damn game.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Okay, or just don't play it? Yeah, don't play it
is an option. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
And so now the creator is saying that he kind
of wants to mess around with the technology, saying that
he needs to figure out some anti tampering headsets so
that people can't remove them or unplug it really quickly
and destroy it. But then they're saying him trying to
fix the technology could get him killed.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
So what do you do?

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Well, you know, if anything, I'm assuming and hoping no
one would ever want to play this game, you know,
but it does bring up an interesting conversation about sure,
the need for the thrill. You know. Look, you know,
if you're let's bring it back a thousand notches. Let's
let's look at bungee jumping. You've done it, Gandhi, I've
done it. I mean when you jump off that bridge

(03:23):
on that elastic band or whatever it is, you know
a part of you is thinking, Okay, this is it.
I am actually taking a leap that could kill me
right now. Yes, and and you know the stats are
on your side that you will live. You will see
the end of this and you'll be okay. But it's
still that rush. It's that rush that we every time

(03:45):
you get on a roller coaster. I mean it's a
death defying roller coaster. I mean we should be dying,
but they stays on the track and we live. Well,
this is taking that thrill a little deeper, a lot deeper,
whole new level.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
Man.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
I just when I think about this, I think of
all the things that could go wrong by accident.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
I mean, how many times have you.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Guys like sneezed playing a game and oops, the power
goes out because somebody's working on an electrical grade down
the street, Like, no, thank you.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
There's just too much involved in that one.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Isn't this almost like jousting where somebody actually dies? Absolutely Well,
if there is a chance that one of you will die,
that's more of a chance to die. What about those
people that got into that that submarine that went down
to look at the Titanic?

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Yes, God, well.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Guess what you know that they were supposed to come
back to the surface alive with stories about what they
saw on the Titanic, but they didn't make it. God
bless their souls, but they took that chance. That's that
looking for thrills in life. It's why that we're always
looking for.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
I don't think I could do it. I don't think
I could do this.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Well, I would definitely not do it. Yeah, I mean,
I mean, look at the odds. The odds are you're
probably gonna die unless you're really good, as Nate says,
he will become at that game. So Nate is saying,
they should give you some some some test of headsets, right, yeah,
so you can test it and learn it before you
actually have to play the death game.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Correct. You know you've gotta because we've all played video games.
I mean, there's a chance that your little character is
gonna die and you go to the next life or whatever,
and so.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
You got to have a little bit of you can't.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Just raw dog this thing and go in there cold turkey.
You've got to You've got to have some practice and
then all right, I'm ready for it. Put the cap on.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Here we go, I'm ready.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Let's give it a whirl. Okay, I'm sure that that
will come out. And there's good news.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
They're not available for purchase the headsets at this point,
and you will have to so far, you'd have to
be able to hook it to this piece of.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Equipment that helps up your brain to death.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
So okay, good. I don't know. Those are not that
easy to get, right. They don't have those on Amazon
quite yet. Not yet, all right. But then again, if
you're still thinking about a great gift for someone for
a birthday or a Christmas gift, whatever.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Hey, I love it so much, play this game. Play
this game exactly.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Let me know how it turns out. The fifteen Minute
