Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's our twenty twenty four iHeartRadio jingle ball presented by
Capitol One. It's Elvis Dren from the Mercedes Bench Interview Lounge,
and of course Tyler and Josh twenty one pilots are here.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
How you doing, How you feeling so good? Jingly? Are
you all jingly feeling jingle balling? Yeah? Well no, I
have underwear on.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Okay, here we go me however, oh okay, freeballing jingle balling.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
You never know.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
You know what's so great about having twenty one pilots
at this show is you are known for explosive, incredible.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Stage performances your concerts. You're not.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Before I even had your music, I was hearing about
your concerts.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Yeah cool, Well does that matter to you?
Speaker 3 (00:42):
I mean it's probably the I think that when whenever
we write songs, we always think about it through that lens,
like what is this gonna feel like and look like?
Speaker 2 (00:51):
Live?
Speaker 3 (00:51):
It's just we were kind of that's where we cut
our teeth, was in you know, small clubs, playing shows,
trying to get the bartender's attention right.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
So, is there a one song in particular that you
agree on that is the one that always gets people
riled up, so which they'd probably the people going.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
It just gets the people going. Josh, do you have
a song?
Speaker 4 (01:11):
Well, I think, like he said, we started out playing
live music. That was like the main thing that we
were focusing on when we started out. So really we
try and make our first song, try and capture people's attention.
So a lot of times that's the first song on
our album too. For this tour, it's been Overcompensate, a
song called Overcompensate, and I think it really gets the
(01:33):
people going.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
It does get the people going, gets me going.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
I bet you can always tell your true fans who've
been with you the longest by the songs as are
reacting responding to.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Yeah, it's probably the most impressive part of our show. Actually,
as much as we put into it, it's what they
bring to it too. It sounds a little cliche, but
anytime we invite someone like I brought my landscape into
a show, right, he was like, yeah, check it out.
I had no idea what's going on, and he thought
we were great, but he thought our crowd was like.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Well, that's the thing that's of interesting about jingle ball concerts.
I mean, you have such a wide spectrum of different
types of performers, people who are really more comfortable in
studio and not on stage. But you don't have to
blow pyrotechnics at your shows.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
We don't have to, but we do, okay, but you
don't have to watch out watch your eyebrows.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Ye, So what you're done with jingle Ball? The year
ends and what happens with twenty one pilots? Then do
you go into the pause mode or is it moving
forward into a new year?
Speaker 2 (02:30):
We go home?
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Can we go home?
Speaker 2 (02:31):
You can go home?
Speaker 4 (02:32):
Yet, we were a couple of weeks and then we're
playing some shows in South America and then we've got
Europe a little bit after that, so we got some
we got some shows ahead of us still on this
album cycle, but that's what we love to do.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
We're going down in South America and headlining for the
first time, so wow, it should be really great.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Yeah, well have you played South America before?
Speaker 3 (02:50):
We have, but in a capacity like with a festival, right,
this is our first time kind of saying, hey, this
is our show now and it's gonna be some of
our biggest shows today down there, so it's gonna be exciting.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
You read the first time you flew with the passport,
you did a concert and people who don't even speak
English were like singing in every.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Word it is.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
That's that's the best part about traveling around and playing music.
Is sounds cliche, but music is that language that just
kind of like spans over the whole world, and it's
that's our favorite thing to do is to go to
a completely different culture and yet they've still somehow found
a connection with the music.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Well, you guys do it very very well, and thank
you for being It's being here at jingle Ball twenty one.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Pods Worths, Tyler and Josh are here. Mary Chris is,
Happy New Year. Mary Christens. You get out there and
make some noise. You're doing pyro tonight, are you? We
actually are? I think so a little bit of fun.
I should have asked, I should I didn't want to know.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
It's fine, we don't need it spoiler, you know, just
in case we haven't won the crowd over by then
at the very end we shoot.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Off with fires, all right, guy, Thank you podch Tonight
at jingle Ball.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
Thank you
