me on the damn show.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Oh sure you.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Could have waited day they did what I wasn't here
and then didn't mention that I was an intern. Too
funny clips for you, Elvis. So yeah, out wrong, Me
and my iHeart pop ar Beef and I guess whatever.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Crazy.

One of these days, I hope Elvis will adopt me
and all will be well.

Well until then, So what's what's what's new? Since since
I saw you last doing the same as we were last?

Speaker 2 (01:15):

Speaker 1 (01:18):

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Who will now be listening. My name is Leilani. I
am the audio intern here. I am Josh's uh right hand.
I suppose I go to n y U for recorded music.
I am going to be a senior. I feel like
that's the rundown.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Love that my favorite things about you. For those who
may be new or don't remember, I am Ben, I'm
the digital intern. I work very closely with Abby and
going into my senior year at Pace and Yah, that's
what you need to know if you don't already know.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Hi, I'm Chloe. I am the news intern. I run
behind Gandhi and I also do a little bit of
video editing work, so kind of just both worlds. I
actually graduated from Simple University about two years ago. I'm
just chasing after my master's right now with FT and
I'm just really excited.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
To be here.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Love Thot, What are you getting your masters in film
and media? Fabulous?

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Thank you?

Speaker 1 (02:38):
I am Kayla.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
I'm going into my senior year at the University of Miami.
I'm on the dance team there and I'm studying broadcast
journalism and marketing and here at iHeart I am kind
of a floater intern, but I'm doing marketing and some
of the social media and some editing with Diamond as well,
which has been really fun. And yeah, this is just

(03:00):
one of the This is a dream internship for me,
so I'm just super happy to be here.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Love it.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Well, welcome to the pod. Thanks guys.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
This is your second week like you started a week ago.
Exactly right.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Yes, wow, did you guys have any crazy first week experiences?

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Surprisingly not really.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Yeah, honestly, no crazy celebrities came in in the week.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
There were like twelve, No, it didn't Adam.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
I missed everybody, Okay, well some of us work on
Mondays and Thursdays.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
There was Adam A j R. Only I think J
and R. Oh, yeah, and R A and R. I
was missing.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Rita Aura. I was there for that one.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
That's the third Descendants cast member who's been here in
the past year.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
She's in Descendants.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Yeah, of course, she plays the Queen of Hearts obviously.
Oh and the send it's the Rise of Brad, the
new one. Okay, so I'll get into it. And oh
my god, wait, you know who was in on our break?
Who Renee Rap. Are you kidding me?

Speaker 2 (04:17):
I need everyone to start telling me things.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
I didn't get to meet her though, so because I
came in because I found out she was coming in
and I was like, all right, let me pop in.
Who's she with Crystal?

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Oh? So like the afternoon?

Speaker 4 (04:30):
When when?

Speaker 1 (04:31):
What day? This was like a Wednesday, like two weeks ago.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
While we were still Yeah, it was.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Like our show was on breaks. I think it was
like the week before I started or something.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
I must mention that the first day we started this podcast,
almost four months ago, I did say my dream guest
on Elvis Duran in the Morning show is Renee Rap.
So oh my god, guys, this is how I announced
my quidding.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
I know, I would love her to come on Elvis,
but yeah, she was on Crystal, and I think there
was some sort of like there would have been too
many people in Crystal studio.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
What does Crystal record? The Z studio that the one
with all the feathers in the oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
And I was like, hey, like can I come in
and take like social like notes and they were like no,
but I was like that's okay, it happens. But yeah,
I did not did not meet her unfortunately, damn.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
But I do remember you say my my dream guess
is any indie indie? Yes? Oh yes? Oh gosh, Oh
I don't remember you say to a bird, yes I love.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
I'm like dised. Just stop anyways. But yeah, So there
were a couple of guests last week. One thing, what
mean is I never know who's going to come in.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Do we have a calendar for that?

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Or I think there is? And last week I think
Abby told Andrew to add me to it and then
it didn't happen. That's it's not like a shared calendar.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
It's like you get invited when a guest appeared, Like oh,
it's like a like a like a Google, like they
have to add you to it, like an alert.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Love that. I'm trying to think of anything crazy happened
last week aside from just guests coming in. Oh. Abby
was concussed all week?

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Oh yeah, yeah, how is she feeling?

Speaker 1 (06:26):
She said she's feeling better.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
How did that happen?

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Was a jar of all lives on a top shelf
of like a grocery store, and she was like picking
something next to it, and the jar fell in her head.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
And I feel like she was like wearing sunglasses. Yeah,
she couldn't look at her screen.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
Could she like sue the groceries?

Speaker 1 (06:44):
That's what I say, Olive Brand, Elvis durand Morningshell for
making her come in. Yeah, it's also like her dream
to sue someone.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
So I was like, you should, yes, like top Dog Law,
come on, I.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Know you should have called top Dog. Wow. Yeah, I
actually that's like my worst nightmare. Can you imagine get
a concussion? How do you get something falling from.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Like that glass?

Speaker 4 (07:15):
Like Yeah, honestly, it's good that she only got like
a slight concussion and serious and that because yeah, like.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
What about jar broke? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Yeah, Have you guys ever had any like crazy injuries
or like experiences like that.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
No, really I haven't been either, knock on wood. But
it's surprising, yeah, because I am a dancer and like
all my friends and teammates are constantly getting her injured.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
So it's just really important that I like really.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
Take care of my body and everything if I want
to dance past college.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
I take that back.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
Something has happened to me before. When I was in school,
I was a part of the gymnastics club, and I
remember I was doing a front handspring, but you know,
when you're like learning to do it, you have to
do it on trampoline. So I fell all the way
forward on my face and hit my shoulder and it
like popped out but like no, but like I popped

(08:15):
it back the same the same time, and it was
like this weird vibration through my ow. I don't it's
so crazy.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
I guess it's good that you popped it right back here.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Yeah, right.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
To do that, I'd just be like kind of like
I gotta lose it mad.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Oh well, yeah I am.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
I think like the worst injury I've ever had is
like a sprained ankle from dancing to like Lady Gaga
in my garage in like high school. Well of course, yeah,
you know I had from my life against no one.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
So I don't think I've had any like insane injuries.
I've never broken a bone. Wow, my shoulders like a
little bit fucked up, not like broken so from what
oh oh but it's like fine.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
It works, yeah right the shoulders shouldering.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
My doctor said, I can't make it worse, So period,
what have a.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Serious injury to have just a shoulder injury?

Speaker 1 (09:17):
But wait, speaking of lipsying, for your life. We don't
have to talk about this right now. That's what I
was gonna ask. But we don't need a repeat of
me and Stephanie talking about reality.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
TV, you guys, we would? Yeah, I mean it was
I got started to catch on from the traders. I
would get I would call my mom and get the
like the updates from her.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Yeah. It was actually a comical. Like every single episode,
me and Stephanie would talk about Traders, like at least
twenty minutes and it had to be like forced to stop, Like.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Me and the other intern would just stare at each
other like this for the whole time, like like blazed over.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Not good.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Sorry, do you guys watch Draggers? No? No? Dang totally Paramount.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
Plus, So the all star seasons are on Paramount Plus.
The regular seasons stream Paramount Plus, like yeah, airing, but
the regular live seasons are like cable on MTV.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Which is v I would it's actually the only I
hate reality TV half the time, but it's like the
only show I'll watch.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
It's so good. What is it about? So it's like,
like how many did they start with? Sixteen?

Speaker 2 (10:25):
I feel like there's a season tho where it was
like eighteen but sixteen.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Sixteen drag queens come in to compete and Rue Paul
is the judge obviously, and every single week they do
a big challenge. It could be an acting challenge, a
lipsync challenge, a sewing challenge, owing challenge, like some sort
of fashion, oh, songwriting like yes, the original songs or

(10:49):
raps or impersonations or talent shows roasts, things like that.
And then every week there's also a runway with a
theme and they each walk out and then the bottom
two of the week have to lip sync and somebody
goes home every week leading up to the finale where
someone wins.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
I think I just like it because it feels like
Project Runway mixed with like yeah, and they're all really caddy.
It's like a bunch of reality TV shows in one,
and it's gay. It's great.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
It's great. It's so much fun. And yeah, so it's
on Paramount plus all the old seasons, so get into it. Yeah,
maybe I do have to get into it.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
See, I got my girlfriend in on the ground floor
of Ulstars ten not even I think I started episode
three and then she just kept watching it with me.
She doesn't know who any of these people are and
every time a new person shows up, which made the
brackets hard, I had to pause and be like, okay,
so this queen was on this season with this queen
is yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
But it's working out terrible season that's happening right now,
but it's okay.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
I'm actually like that. Do you know that like TikTok
audio where it's like, I'm not going to celebrate your
weight loss. I wanted to fuck you when you was fat,
but what oh my god. Well that's how I've been
feeling watching this season. I'm like, I don't want to
celebrate everyone losing weight and then not shutting up about it.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Are you? Are you hip to the fact that RuPaul
is like obsessed? Have you seen that?

Speaker 2 (12:12):
There's like a clip of like Willem being like, if
the queen loses weight, like Ruth thinks she's hit Nirvana, Like.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
It's so funny.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
I don't girl, I don't get it.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
This one queen was like definitely a bigger queen and
she lost like a lot of weight, yeah or something,
And Paul was like, I just love you have this
beautiful body now just making this transformation, which is true. Yeah,
it's just funny. It's like a pattern.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
But yeah, and she also like like they did a
talent show and you can like do whatever you want
on the talent show. Like so some people saying someone
dance like a lot of dancing, but this girl did
like a routine about ozempic like that was her whole shtick.
It's like she used to be like a funny, but
I was just like you, you're like a mean queen.

(13:00):
Why are you just constantly talking about losing weight? She's
so mean, She's an asshole. Yes, at first I was like, oh,
like entertained, and now I'm like, oh my god, like
so going after at least amore yeahs.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
To be funny, and it's it's like not funny, yeah,
because it's like so unprompted and like.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
After random girls too, it's not even people shas beef with.
I really wish I.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
Knew like anything that.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
A slideshow of Like I know, you guys have to
watch Yeah, for next week, we'll talk about the finale.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
The recommendations of which seasons to watch. Let me know. Okay, wait, yes, okay,
how do you.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Guys like the work environment here?

Speaker 1 (13:57):
The hours like your faves not your fave Okay, let's
open that up. Or the hours.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
I can't stand being away so early. What time do
you guys do I get here at six six thirty ish? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (14:10):
What?

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Do you do hear that early?

Speaker 2 (14:12):
I record the live broadcast and like clip it and
then So that's why I can go home so early,
because once Josh shows up, like my job is useless.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
You need to be here that early.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Like in theory, like I can do it from home,
like when we worked from home, I could do it,
but like then I would have to put it on
the work computer. It's like yeah, okay, but yeah, so
like Prospect Heights like Flatbush area, so an hour on

(14:42):
the queue. But it could be like we had a yes, yeah,
just around there sometimes if it's if it's really quick,
like I'll get up at five, leave like five forty five,
get here six thirty okay, yeah, like that's the goal
right now.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
Yeah, came well, like we never complaining again, Like we had.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
An intern last year who was from Long Island. Yeah,
I can't I can't even imagine what that commute was.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Yeah, where'd you guys come in from?

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Yeah, I come in from Jersey, Montclair, New Jersey. So
it's kind of similar, Like I have on the bus
by like five fifty six in the morning, damn.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
To get here. So you have that timestable, Oh runs
like the same time, the same exactly that. Yeah, gotcha?

Speaker 4 (15:30):
What about Yo, I'm commuting from Summit, New Jersey, so
I have to wake up at like four fifty and
then take a six o'clock train. So yeah, it is early,
but I've been finding that going to bed at eight
thirty is like my saving grace.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Yeah, I hear you go I never got in Yeah,
I never got into going to Betterly, I was up
until like I had a gig last night, so I'm
I was up until like one.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
Wait, that's awesome, congrat thank you.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
I love thought was how to Go? It was good.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
It was a house show.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
I saw this. I was I was like, wait, I
should go on wait now.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
It was. I was like, man, I helped book the show.
Like it's a band that like I'm friends with from La.
I'm from La. So they flew in for this, so
I helped them find the venue and get bands on
the bill, and I was like, man, the thirteenth, like
it's my girlfriend's band, Like my girlfriend's off on Sundays
like we'll do it on a Sunday. Oh wait, I'll

(16:30):
have work the next day. And so I bit the
bullet and it's fine. I'm here. This Elsie's fridge helped.
I was going to say, oh yeah, well, I feel
like all last semester I would do that, Like I
would be like up and then like have to get
up here. So you're used to it. Yeah, and like
you can go home and then nap. That's what I
find is show.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Yes, that's what I do.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
I love the nap, the four pm nap.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
Oh yeah, I'm never complaining about the time ever again.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Yeah, you have the closest commute.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
Now.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
We used to compete because I used to live.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
I will have this commute now. Yeah, and I what
time do you guys have to be here by seven thirty? Okay?
I'm like lies, damn oh okay, I take back everything.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Ever, how you get here seven?

Speaker 1 (17:22):
I get here between like seven forty five and eight.
I have to be here by eight.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
When do you leave?

Speaker 1 (17:29):
Usually to the latest?

Speaker 2 (17:31):
Okay, that's like a not terrible shift lengths.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
No, No, it's good. I like it. So did you
just move to the city? Is that what you were saying? No,
it's that I have lived in five Eye the past
three years and I still live there. And Leilani went
to NYU and lived.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
Uh like off the R at the NYU stop, like
faster place.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
Ish we had like the shortest commute.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
Yeah, and now I've just doubled it.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
But are you loving your new apartment?

Speaker 2 (18:03):
Oh? Yes, I'm actually I was thinking about it, like
I went on the show, like I told him I
was apartment hunting, and I was like, all I want
is like a one bedroom with my girlfriend off the
park side a stop. So I'm near Prospect Park under
two K and they all laughed at me.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
Guess what I have.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
I hit all those criteria. It's seventeen sixty five, it's
the two of us, it's a one bedroom, and it's
right by Prospect Park's amazing. So I feel really proud
of that. I feel really proud of that.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
I was like, do you feel like settled in now
or are you like I think I do.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
We have a friend staying with us right now, which
I'm like, whoa, I this makes me realize how settled
and I was because this is weird that there's someone
on my couch now. But of course, but yeah, it
feels nice. We got like two of my friends were
leaving New York like after graduation. So I inherited a
lot of furniture. Yeah, like I think a friend of

(18:55):
mine gave me like a fifteen one hundred dollars dresser.
It took two people to get it up all the stairs,
but it worked out.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
It worked out. I inherited my couch.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Mmmmm spring, Yeah, my couch is also inherited. Just the
best who pays for a couch nowadays? No?

Speaker 1 (19:13):
Yeah, god no, we call my couch the casting couch
because it looks like, what is the face, Celia? Yeah, girl,
it's a dark brown.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
Blue light to that bit powerwash god?

Speaker 1 (19:36):
Uh fine, it was to give you a mic eventually,
not after that comment. Looking seals Yeah, I probably should
take a blue light to the casting couch.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
How do you wash a leather couch?

Speaker 1 (19:55):
You just like yeah you yeah? Who who? I'm trying
to think if I inherited any other furniture, and I
honestly didn't, but I inherited a lot of like supplies
because when I started my lease last May, so May

(20:17):
twenty twenty four, I had subletters like the first three months.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
So you told me the story.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
Yeah, so they all left like so much shit, like
cleaning supplies, lightsol spray, paper towels, paper towels, because like
everyone that would come in and out of the apartment
would like come with their supply and then there would
already be shipped there. So like I think next week
I'm probably gonna have to buy like cleaning spray for
like the first time in a year. Wow. Yeah, yeah crazy.

(20:47):
I still have trash bags from the subletters. Wow. Yeah,
it's that crazy great supplies.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
I think living living in an apartment made me realize
how much like little things like that that I for
granted my parents' house are, Like why is a trash
can like forty dollars? Like the can itself? Yeah, everything
else it's like, oh my god.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
And groceries like.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
Especially if you want to like eat clean and eat
like organic yeah stuff, which is something I just started
getting into. Like growing up my household was literally like
a snack household, like all junk food. But then living
it alone in an apartment in Miami, like or not alone.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
I have a roommate, shadow Eva.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
She's also my best friend. But yeah, so she got
me into like cooking and all that stuff, but yeah,
those groceries are insane.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
And then I mean, do you have a car in Miami, Like,
would you like drive to the grocery store?

Speaker 4 (21:49):
No, I take Ava has a car, but I take
some way everywhere.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
Okay, gotcha? Because also I was going to say the
other part of it is like.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
Lugging at all Yeah, yeah, like all the way up.
Yeah yeah, Like I have to like if I want
to go to Trader Joe's, I can buy like four
things total that hit my backpack and then go again
the next day. I honestly I should be one of
those cards. I feel like kind of chic.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
Yeah, I've been thinking about that, so yeah, I mean,
on that note, that reminds me I need to get
groceries soon running out. That's okay, I'm in my meal
prepping era. Oh okay, Jim Bro, you want to join
me for a lift today? The voice is crazy today?

Speaker 2 (22:40):
And that note?

Speaker 1 (22:42):
Oh god? Okay? Well, I am Ben. You can find
my Instagram at Benfifer with an extra R at the end.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
I'm Leilani Petau and that's Leilani j Pataw.
