So Bonnie is getting married and she's one of those
brides that she gives everybody, you know, a list of
what not to do before her wedding, and one of
the things is, do not cut your hair before my wedding,
because she wants everyone's hair a specific way. So her bride'smaid,
who's also her roommate, Stephanie, says, let's call her and
tell her I cut my hair.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Oh why do you guys insist on messing with brides?
You know it's not good.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
I'm actually really just the setup and then I let
her kind of take it away.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
So I'm calling from the salon to tell her. Oh
she left her earrings, come get them.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Okay, here we go. Let's see what happens. Here's Danielle's

Yeah, Hi, this is Lisa from floaking up salon and
spam looking for Stephanie.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
She's not hair right now. Can you take a message?
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Yeah? Can you just tell her that when she came
in to get her hair cut. She left her earrings,
So just tell her. I'll leave him at the front
desk and she can stop.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
Wait wait wait what why what? I didn't understand any
of that.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Oh. When she came in this morning to get her
hair cut, she left her earrings. When we were washing
her hair, she took them off, So I'm gonna leave
them at the front desk for her. Just have her
come by and she can grab them.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Wait, she cut her hair or she got her hair done.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
No, she cut her hair that she came in with
a picture. She cut her hair.

Okay, so her hair actually looks.

a picture of like hair up and you get her
hair up right?
Speaker 1 (02:02):
No? No, no, it's a cute little bob she liked.
You got to be kidding me. I cut it. It
looks adorable. It's gonna look great in your pictures.

Oh my god, she is gonna kill me.

You said she's been a bridezilla this entire time, right,

a crazy bride before.

You've got to chill out. It's just, well, look, you're like.

You're being a little controlling. I mean, I don't know
if anybody's said anything, but like, honestly, you signed up
for this. I asked everyone to not cut their hair.
Don't change your appearance for getting spray down. What's wrong
with you? I'm part of your party, but like I
can't be controlled by everything you do and everything you say.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
It's just a haircut.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
Are you on drugs? I wish I was, because seriously,
this is becoming a pain in the ass. I don't
know how like tolerate all of it anymore. This can't
be real. What I didn't do anything to you?

The Burden
The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary.
