Speaker 1 (00:00):
Pure shelty videos nuzzling people and people playing with their.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
There's a specific dog in mind already, the dog in
mind already.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
This is how deep into the fight that we're getting.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Your whole family is manifesting.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
You're done, yes, And I feel like like that character
and network where I'm like, I won't.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
Like Brandy Bellman and the DV Morning.

Speaker 5 (00:26):
Wednesday, Jeff concle He'll be coming up here in about
forty minutes or so. Also, Mark madd will be joining
us at eight forty five today in early edition of Market.
It's always nice to get Mark on earlier because it's
like going out in the sunlight, you know, early in
the day.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Supposed to get that way, to get ten minutes of Madden.

Speaker 6 (00:48):
He's saying that your your skin starts to boil and
oh no.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
Start to burn.

Speaker 7 (00:54):
No Mark's case.

Speaker 5 (00:55):
I mean for like the wellness movement that's gone on,
you know when they say you're supposed to get at
least ten minutes of sun first thing in the morning,
and that's really good for you.

Speaker 7 (01:06):
Yeah, yes, well it's not happening for us.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Mark is the radio version of that, is what I'm
trying to say, And that'll be eighty.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
It's not like a raccoon seeing him in the daylight
or something like that.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
No, if you see Mark in the daylight, that does
not mean he's rabid. Okay, yes, but.

Speaker 8 (01:22):
Never approach him from behind and you'll look him directly
in the eye.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Always good advice. Put a brick on your trash can.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Doublem eight. Abby's got a news update for you. Now,
what's going on?

Speaker 8 (01:34):
Is this hour brought to you buy your neighborhood. Ford
Store Son giving way to clouds rain this afternoon and
a high of fifty five. Do Cane Light has been
warning that some Pittsburgh customers could experience power outages tonight
as the company prepares to open a new, state of
the art substation in the city's Bluff section. The Watson
substation will join do Kine Light's Bruno, Island and Forbes

(01:56):
substations in supplying power to the downtown community. Some of
the power from those substations will be transferred to Watson,
which could cause brief power outages tonight. Sounds like that's
going to be somewhere between ten and ten thirty PM,
but areas that could see an impact include Boulevard of
the Allies, for Pitt Boulevard, Bigelow Square, Boyd Chatham, Crawford, Diamond,

(02:18):
Grant Ross, Smithfield, Wood Streets, pretty much all these downtown areas.
So if you're gonna be downtown between ten pm and
ten thirty, it.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Might be in a black cat.

Speaker 8 (02:29):
Spooky's gonna be a little spooky downtown tonight, So just
be aware of that.

Speaker 5 (02:33):
Well that's good. Yeah, no, it's it's not already kind
of spooky.

Speaker 7 (02:37):
It's kind of spooky.

Speaker 8 (02:38):
There are some garages downtown, by the way, I don't
know if you know or have experienced this, that like
just close, Like if you park in those garages, yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Uh oh really, just we'll be getting your car out
for a certain time.

Speaker 8 (02:51):
There was one on Cherry Street that was like a
couple of weeks ago, I parked after seven o'clock and
I didn't. I didn't, And they're like, yeah, like literally
two weeks ago and I parked and then and I
thought I was cool and went to dinner, and then
whenever I was coming out of dinner, there's just no

(03:13):
doors to get back into the parking garage.

Speaker 7 (03:16):
And it was like this garage closes after seven o'clock.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
All those doors that have no handles. Yeah, and I
was just like going, I'm like, uh oh.

Speaker 8 (03:25):
But there were people that parked at the same time
that I did that We're in Penguin jerseys and we're
going to the game. So I was like and they
were asking me, They're like, have you parked in this
garage before?

Speaker 7 (03:37):
And I said, nope, I'm winging it.

Speaker 8 (03:40):
And so I know that when they must have gotten
back from the game, they were definitely screwed.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
And that's late and not fun time to try to
find it.

Speaker 8 (03:48):
Yeah, And it was like a Thursday night, and so
I kept thinking, I'm like, okay, so I would have
to uber home and then tomorrow morning, I'm gonna have
to come back and get my car and how many
and juice. And at that time, somebody was coming out
of the garage and I ran in, like.

Speaker 7 (04:04):
It was like a sitcom.

Speaker 8 (04:05):
It's like, yeah, you know, it's just like Brandon and
got in the garage.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
That's good because I had a friend who parked in
one of those garages and it would not let him
out of the garage. And he decided he was taking
the barrier down, and he did. He drove through the
arm arm. He's like I have to get my car home. Whatever'll,
I'll pay the file and he went blam through it.

Speaker 8 (04:35):
I might have done that if that was frustration, well,
just because I was.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Like, I gotta do the show. I gotta go. I
got it. That's that's just what it is.

Speaker 8 (04:43):
But no, I waited until the garage opened, and then
I just ran through and I walked like down the
ramp like a you know, wasn't the safest thing to do.

Speaker 6 (04:52):
But I wonder what that's all about. Why the hell
would a garage close.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
Early safety reasons, I would imagine, which makes it even
weird when you're like trying to get your car. But
there needs to be way more clear signage. There definitely
was not. Yeah, like when you go going into that garage,
it has to be like remember this garage like that
needs to be very prominent.

Speaker 6 (05:15):
It probably was, definitely, And we don't pay attention to
that kind of stuff. Like she just did the story
about the power thing, and the whole time I'm sitting
here thinking every story I've ever heard like this goes
in my head and immediately out of my head streets
and all of a sudden, I'm like, oh my god,
what's up?

Speaker 3 (05:33):
With all these blackouts, right, we got told about it.
It's the same with the tunnel closure.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Yes exactly. That's just saying street closings is That's what
it is for me. I hear about him. I go
drive right into the traffic in my neighborhood.

Speaker 6 (05:46):
Same street closed every day, same thing, every day. I go, ah,
I gotta, I gotta, I gotta back up and go around.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
I've been doing that for two months or three in
my nameborhood. And I keep wondering, like, are they doing
the f and draft in my neighborhood? What is with
all of the construction out here? And it's like those
are small streets so you can't get around, you know
what I mean when you're in the suburbs.

Speaker 6 (06:10):
Yeah, yeah, you know, it's it's like nineteen to do
with the draft. This is more like beautiful you know,
water line and stuff. But the beautification is definitely.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
Going on downtown.

Speaker 6 (06:21):
I mean they have the Market Square stuff is still
not finished, right it and they have a lot of time,
I guess. But the village that's going up, like that
Christmas Village is not there.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
It's not in the market. It's not Market Square. I
don't know where the hell it is.

Speaker 9 (06:36):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
It doesn't look like anything's going to be ready for Christmas.
And Market Square no, those businesses must be getting screwed
in Market Square.

Speaker 6 (06:44):
They where were they setting it up? They were setting
the village up and it was is it on like where.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Homeless agreement them all Santa hats and yeah at a
bus stop. Yeah, village. It was like wherever the arts
fest was?

Speaker 6 (07:00):
Maybe the Commons or something, or.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
Well the arts Fest this year was like in a
strip in a parking lot.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Remember, Oh.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
Yeah, off the Clemente Bridge, Like maybe it's there, maybe
it's in the Commons area.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Well, they're building that park over off Fort to Kamblevard.

Speaker 6 (07:24):
That's not built either. Yeah, that was still Apolo Rumble
a couple of months ago.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
We're way behind on everything.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
They're gonna build all the stuff in February.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
They're going to get into overdrive.

Speaker 6 (07:34):
Yeah, somebody needs to start putting meth in the turner
ty something.

Speaker 7 (07:39):
All right, this could really throw a wrench in your
Halloween plans.

Speaker 8 (07:42):
A bunch of sites are claiming that aliens could make
first contact today, or at least there's an outside chance
of it.

Speaker 7 (07:49):
If you're not up on your UFO news.

Speaker 8 (07:52):
An interstellar comment from outside of our solar system has
been zipping past us for the last few months. It's
only the third one that we've ever seen, and apparently
it's big.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Expert thinks that.

Speaker 8 (08:05):
It's the size of Manhattan and it's different than normal
comments comments, So the X Files crowd thinks that it.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
Might be the mother ship.

Speaker 8 (08:17):
It's millions of miles away right now, it's on the
other side of the Sun, so why today. Basically, it's
when it reaches its closest point to the Sun, an
event called Paralan Parahelian, something like that.

Speaker 7 (08:36):
I know you're up on this, so you're going to you.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Just say the word because we won't know it.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
Correct me. Parahelian. If it's alien, best album, so good.

Speaker 8 (08:45):
If it's Aliens, today's the best day for them to
change course by firing their boosters and using the Sun's
gravity like a slingshot. And if they know we're watching,
they might want to reach out and say hi, or
maybe destroy us.

Speaker 5 (08:59):
Well, the whole joke about you know they're not stopping
here that you know, like they drive by and they're
like that's a dumpster fire, you know, roll them up
and then they just head back to their planet or
whatever that. Notwithstanding, I don't know how I feel about the.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Existence of aliens.

Speaker 5 (09:13):
I think even though this is a big year for
because there was like congressional testimony about it and then
confirmation on some level, but so much of what we
hear is complete Gorgonzola these days that I just like
chalk everything up to, Oh, they're trying to give us
a distraction. It just seems you can easily sort of

(09:35):
explain it away by like it's intelligence operations by other countries.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (09:41):
Yeah, those are the identified flying objects.

Speaker 5 (09:46):
Yeah, as opposed to something that traveled light years just
to poke a guy in the rictus.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
You know, like I don't see that being it.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Is that the only story he usually is. They're always
pro Why are aliens so gay? This is what they do.
That's why they don't want to here, just to get
that et finger some work. That's what the et finger was.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Yes, the world's most gifted proctologists.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
Wow, I haven't been peeing right ever since phone home.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Tell them you're fine, everything's going great enough, Fine, it
might be good.

Speaker 5 (10:29):
Maybe just the extra treasuriers are all super gay and
they're like, guys, they mostly hadl's down there.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
This is the best time there's ever been.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
Yeah, but it's still probably not good enough for them
if they're playing it's like super gay, which brings us
the question of Chewbacca. Okay, does he have a regular
penis or a dog penis?

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Like, oh, this is something people need to know.

Speaker 5 (10:49):
Yeah, I know this is a little bit of a
wheel grabber here, but like along those lines, there's many questions.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
Would well, it's definitely Harry was wearing underwear.

Speaker 8 (11:00):
It's retractable, considerably retractable, like a.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
Dog is like a dog, like a pink lipstick thing,
like the red rocket thing instead of I mean, these
are just questions to consider when you're thinking about aliens.

Speaker 6 (11:14):
Yeah, I mean, I guess he's in that universe. He's
from another universe.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Yeah, not enough, not enough penis explanation in Star Wars
for me.

Speaker 7 (11:25):
But other than that, he's partially clothed though.

Speaker 8 (11:29):
Yeah, well he's actually he's not partially clothed.

Speaker 7 (11:33):
He's armed.

Speaker 6 (11:34):
Yeah, he's got a sash he's at he's got like
like an Ammo sash.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
Yeah, he's got.

Speaker 5 (11:41):
What's that called the the jackets around him. That's know
what it's called, full metal jacket. Anyways, full red Rocket.
Will the Aliens visit us today or not? Stay tuned.
Maybe they can go downtown and fix our streets.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
They'll fix Market Square, finish it up.

Speaker 5 (12:05):
They're missing the boat on the Chewbacca movie. I'm telling
you right now, all Chewbacca, because he has a planet,
he comes from a planet of Chewbacca's, he.

Speaker 7 (12:12):
Does have to have subtitles the whole time.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Yeah, kind of like Apocalypto.

Speaker 10 (12:16):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
I want to see the variety of of chewies.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Maybe chewy and it's like a sect of Chewies that
that like shaved shave you kids today, We never shaved
our chewies. I wonder if there's like a sect of Chewies.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
That are like, uh, you know, uh people have uh
you know, a racial bias towards or hairy. But you
know what I mean, like if there's some sort of
prejudice in that world too, or if they are all
identical and everything's fine.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
This is the movie, dude.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Short, a short king, little short Chewbacca.

Speaker 7 (13:02):
I'm telling you.

Speaker 8 (13:03):
Like the money they made off of Baby Yoda, That's
what I mean.

Speaker 7 (13:07):
The money they could make off of.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
A baby hair right out of the womb. I did
they have chewy womb?

Speaker 2 (13:15):
Well, if we're talking about.

Speaker 8 (13:16):
A chewy pain about a chewy womb, what if the
males are the ones that uh that carry Yes?

Speaker 6 (13:26):
Oh man, this is just yeah, where's the tape that
Ammo sash is just like nothing but bottles and milk and.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
Yeah, just constantly feed the chew.

Speaker 5 (13:39):
Now, there is a baby chewy that was featured on
the nineteen seventy eight special.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
I think it's seventy eight special.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
There was a famous Christmas special it's like really bad,
you know, and it was named Lumpy. And I know
this because they sold Lumpy dolls and I got one
as a toddle like little kid, as like yeah, as
like a.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
Six year old kid.

Speaker 5 (14:03):
I got a Lumpy and my brothers and we all
made so much fun of it, like nobody liked it,
but we're just got hilarious. But it was kind of
like baby Yoda and it was called Lumpy.

Speaker 6 (14:13):
I mean, Baby Yoda is definitely like a phenomena. Like
when that came out, that was the hottest thing since
Tickle Meomo for a minute.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Yeah, oh dude, it's still pretty hot.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
I actually just got my nephew for his birthday a
baby Yoda like hoodie so that, yeah, makes him look
like gro goo.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
Yeah, I missed that.

Speaker 6 (14:37):
They used to have that Disney store was the only
one in Pittsburgh out at the Southest Village Mall, and
they closed it for some reason, so that now there's
no Disney store anywhere.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
But man, I went in there.

Speaker 6 (14:47):
I bought the bar out, like I had every dress
in that store.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
Eventually for the girls. That's your moo though.

Speaker 5 (14:53):
When you find something, like you see a Steelers store
that has good stuff, you'll clean that out.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
You clean that out, ye yeah, over the years.

Speaker 6 (15:02):
And I gave them, you know, to my sister, and
it is really high quality stuff.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
You know.

Speaker 6 (15:07):
I mean this, but that all of the Star Wars
stuff that they had in there for my niece, for
my nephews, like you know, getting your your nephew who's
four a hardcore like legit storm Trooper costume or Kylo
Wren or just like awesome. The material was so good
and it just it's it's still exist, Like my sister

(15:30):
has them.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
I'm like, give those back to me.

Speaker 6 (15:33):
I'm uh dressing up vacuum bagging those and keeping them
for the grandkids.

Speaker 5 (15:39):
That's a great call, because those like they're just gonna
keep cranking out like Star Wars content forever.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
That and Or show.

Speaker 5 (15:45):
I didn't watch them, but people people loved it, Mandalorian,
I got through you love the Jacob Yeah, I got through.
I didn't see it up to the Bill Burr episode,
of which McCall it, thank you, Mandalorian, up to the
episode where he performed for the Empire, and then I
didn't watch anymore.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
But I'm just kidding. Yeah, I kid our friend Bill
film uh laugh festival. Yes, that's right. He's like dude, He's.

Speaker 6 (16:15):
Like dude, So what you could say whatever you want
on Tattoin they.

Speaker 5 (16:19):
Got a burger they got But I lost interest in
that one, so I didn't start and Or. But everyone
says it's so good. The Chewy one. I would watch.
If it's a planet of chewis, I'm in.

Speaker 6 (16:35):
But I mean it's all subtitles. You can't tell what
the hell they're saying.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
When they filmed it, Like Harrison Ford was talking to
a guy who was giving him dialogue.

Speaker 8 (16:45):
Yeah, yeah, which it made it so great, which is
why they seemed like they had such a great relationship, right.

Speaker 6 (16:52):
Yeah, I mean it's it's kind of similar in God,
we're all blanking on the names. Yeah, well, our caffeine
is not kicking it Godllions of the Galaxy. I am Groot,
Like every single line he said was I am Grout,
But I am Groot meant a million different things, right
like Aloha, yeah exactly. And and you know, I don't

(17:16):
know if you've watched those movies, but those movies are great.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Oh I watched the first one and I never watched
the second one.

Speaker 6 (17:22):
Yeah, the second one is really good. I think there's
a third one, and the third one is really sad.
What is Groot? He's a tree? Yeah, he's a tree, right, Yeah,
he's a tree. He's like a constantly replenishing and regrowing tree.
So if you cut him down, he'll just regrow the branches.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
So what kind of penis do you think? Groot has?

Speaker 3 (17:40):
A tree? Penis a trunk.

Speaker 6 (17:43):
Yeah, he's got a serious trunk, a lot of rings.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
He's got an old pen He's got trunk rings.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Yeah, I'm sorry I hijacked your alien story.

Speaker 8 (17:59):
I didn't care about giving away to clouds. In this afternoon,
high fifty five.

Speaker 5 (18:03):
All right, Mike Pursuit is coming in. Steelers make a
big move yesterday. Welcome to Pittsburgh, Kyle Dugger. You know,
of all those kids, I thought Kyle was really going
to be the one to make it, and he did.
He's coming to Pittsburgh. He'll be joining his former Patriot
teammate in the secondary Jabrill Pepper's.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
Just collecting Patriot safeties. Why not?

Speaker 5 (18:27):
And uh, Mike Tomlin I would say, did not have
a great press conference yesterday in terms of reception afterwards,
mostly because he started the press conference by complaining about
the offense, which to me is like Sydney Sweeney uh,
blaming her new movie tanking on her breasts.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
It's like, that's not the reason it didn't do that.
A pretty sure is the best thing going.

Speaker 5 (18:58):
That's front and center, Michael, have a four port on
that coming up next here on the DV Morning Show.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
No matter how you listen, you can hear us.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
Listen to you guys all time on the Heart.

Speaker 11 (19:10):
Radio on air at one o two point five, screaming
on all your smart devices and at DVE dot com
near Fresno listening to Fitzberg and loving hear in your
voice This is Dve.

Speaker 12 (19:23):
From the Seedon Hill University Weather Center. Schedule your campus
visit today.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
This report is sponsored by Levin Furniture and Mattress. It's
got to be partly Cloulle today.

Speaker 5 (19:33):
With rain developing in the afternoon, look for a high
at fifty five Clollie with periods of rain tonight dropping
off with our sports.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Now and Mike.

Speaker 5 (19:40):
Look, it's it's all taking care of is it? The
con artist has come through.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
I'm worried that name is going to take on the
other meeting soon.

Speaker 13 (19:49):
But this one's the equivalent to me of driving down
the street the night before garbage day and you see
a bar.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
Stool, Yeah, it said somebody.

Speaker 13 (20:00):
He's roll it out and you think, you know, I
could use that And they're like he just chick it
up and throw it in the back of the suv
and take it home and give it a coat of varnish.

Speaker 5 (20:09):
And yeah, they changed their decore. They're like, this does
unfit what we're doing anymore. It's much nicer than yours.
So like they have better stuff than you to begin with.
I don't know, I mean he's better than what they
have without Sean Ellen, Like the AFC pickers now where
we just go everybody's backyard.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
I'll just say this about Kyle Duggar. I went back.

Speaker 13 (20:28):
I have all the Steeler games on file in my
whatever you call your recorded library now, and I went
back and I started looking at the Steelers Patriots game
from Week three and I had to look for him
to find them. Like, I think he played about perfect.
I think he played about eighteen snaps. But there wasn't.
Oh my god, there's Kyle Dugger making another play like

(20:49):
he was covering tight ends and playing in the box.
But he, you know, doing some pretty average NFL stuff,
which I guess would be an improvement.

Speaker 5 (20:57):
It would be an improvement. And that's what I'm telling
you is that's how far things have fallen. And also
from a financial standpoint, it appears they're really not taking
on a whole lot and it's cut loose.

Speaker 13 (21:06):
At the end of the year, New England just kind
of paid them to take them off their hands.

Speaker 5 (21:09):
Yeah, so you got to do the David Justice thing
to him, Yes you do.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
We're not paying you two million.

Speaker 13 (21:14):
Where are you going with this? So more I'm trying
to get the last ounce of ball that you got
left and you're trying to stay in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
It's very true. It's better than what they had.

Speaker 13 (21:25):
As for your observation that he addressed the offense not
the defense. Could it be because he knows they have
to be the Bengals and the offense is salvageable.

Speaker 5 (21:34):
That's a one hundred percent what it is, and that
is the worst. That's the scarier scenario. It's not good
the fact that because again my brain is not firing.
This morning, Alan Saunderson, yes, tweeted that out in response
to somebody. He said, well, the scenario might be that
he knows how bad it is and he can't address

(21:56):
it because if he does, it's sort of admitting how
bad things are defensively, and I agreed with him.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
I'm like, that's exactly what it is.

Speaker 5 (22:03):
He knows how dire that situation is, and if he
actually speaks it more into existence, then that gives up
more life or lack of defensively, like, don't speak its name,
just pretend everything's fine.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
I'm tired.

Speaker 13 (22:17):
They're going to beat the Colts fifty one nine, and
then the next week when they go to the Chargers,
they're going to have black and gold striped Helmets.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
The one thing I'll say about that strategy is that,
a it's kind of fun to watch if you're actually
scoring and you're keeping pace. Okay, so from an entertainment standpoint,
it's kind of fun to watch, all right, no doubt,
because you get the ball back pretty quick. But the
second thing is you do have some playmakers on defense,

(22:45):
even if cohesively they're not playing great. Every once in
a while, Yeah, the other team makes mistakes too, and
there are some athletes there that can you know, the
Bengals defense also got a little it's getting a little.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
More playmakery. I mean, just because they let Justin Fields.

Speaker 5 (23:05):
Score thirty eight points against them, and they let Breese Hall.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
There's no a back footed ten yard touchdown. There's no
painting this right now into a look.

Speaker 13 (23:17):
It's if they start scoring a ton of points they
can avoid falling off the cliff.

Speaker 6 (23:23):
I think that this is a dangerous approach, just because
you're under selling the Bengals having the best quarterback in
the league and the best wide receiver in the league
right now.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
I got no problem with Pittsburgh's quarterback right now. Oh
he ain't Joe Burrow in his prime. He's pretty good.
Well where he is right now?

Speaker 13 (23:44):
No, no, no, no, no, no qualifiers. He's pretty good,
but they're not.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
He's not.

Speaker 6 (23:48):
He's pulling up a stat line where he's throwing five
touchdowns five hundred yards.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
Oh, I don't know about that. If you had the right,
if he's hay game this year, he did.

Speaker 13 (23:58):
I mean he's got some weaponry, the lines coming around,
activate the weapons, get the ball where it's supposed to go.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
Score points. Here's my question. Do you know there are
a few finished drives away from being that. Do you
think MVA or field goals against the Packers?

Speaker 13 (24:12):
Well, I'm saying turn two of those in the touchdowns
you probably.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
Win that game.

Speaker 5 (24:16):
Yeah, two of those fifty eight yard field goals. I
mean they're barely getting over the midfield. Do you think
Rum and Wilson is that much worse than MVS.

Speaker 13 (24:26):
No, No, other than the other guy's got a history
with the quarterback.

Speaker 5 (24:32):
So you think they're just bringing MVS in for depth. Well,
I mean right now, he's not here yet. Next week
that's going to be a practice squad.

Speaker 13 (24:39):
Of course, Now with the practice squad and you come
up and down at will almost you know a lot
of moving parts right now. Stay tuned Sports is not
brought to you by Bridgevial Appliance. Ask for that aforementioned
defense Tom im not pleased with it, But that does
not translate to defensive coordinator Tarrell Austin being on the
hot seat, at least not this week.

Speaker 14 (25:00):
You know, I've known Taill a long time. He's very capable,
he's very thorough. I largely been pleased with his work.
But certainly he and I are not pleased with where
we are right now from a defensive unit perspective.

Speaker 13 (25:13):
And so we're just gonna keep working, keep working, and
keep staying the course. Austin will remain not just the
defensive coordinator, but the defensive play caller. Tomlin, in line
with staying the course, is not gonna take over those
responsibilities this Sunday against Indianapolis.

Speaker 14 (25:31):
No, that's not on the table as we sit here today.
We just got to keep doing what we're doing and
do it better. Mike those interesting. That's not on the
table as we sit here today.

Speaker 6 (25:40):
Yeah, it's not on the table. It's but it's getting closer.
He's pulling it closer to the table. It's next to
the Chairity, there's a spot on the table.

Speaker 9 (25:47):
Maybe.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (25:50):
My question to you guys is this though, isn't it
akin to saying like, is he gonna make the set
list for the band tonight?

Speaker 9 (25:59):
Right?

Speaker 5 (26:00):
And it is that the problem? Or is the songwriting
the problem? Do you see what I'm saying? The songs
he has to choose from.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
I don't know that the actual play calls are as
important as the construct.

Speaker 13 (26:14):
Do you see what I'm saying here? Like I see
what you're yes, speculating about. My answer would be the
guys doing the play and are the ones that matter
the most? That's they're gonna play the Indiapolis Colts on Sunday.
Colts are doing really well. Their defense is coordinated by
a guy named lou Amruno.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Who we usually who Roll used to coordinate the Bengals.

Speaker 13 (26:35):
Yeah, and when he was at the Bengals, he was
an eighty eight and he got fired and now he's
with the Colts and oh my god, there's players and
you're playing from fourteen points ahead the whole game and
you just blitz your ass off because they have to throw,
and you look like a genius.

Speaker 9 (26:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (26:49):
Charyl Austin also used to be with the Bengals. Conversely
comes here. Used to be with a lot of people
not so much. Maybe there's a reason.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
Yeah, when someone has a lot of X, it might
because they're not a great husband.

Speaker 13 (27:02):
But isn't the concert They might be equipped, you know
what I mean, Like they might be really good at
everybody wants a.

Speaker 6 (27:09):
Piece of hire a gun somebody that everybody wants a
piece of. I thought that the way that they constructed
this team MIC was to bludgeon you. They are built
for tight end running back, possessed the ball, not high
flying offense. Have the forty one year old dropping back
fifty times a game. I'm not saying he can't do

(27:30):
it once or twice in a season when necessary. I'm
saying you're gonna You're gonna have him do that for
the whole season, for ten more games.

Speaker 13 (27:36):
You don't have to have him throw fifty times to
score points.

Speaker 6 (27:41):
They just haven't been that efficient.

Speaker 13 (27:43):
Well, I mean they're they're doing way better than they
they were the last few years.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
You know, I'm not Peyton.

Speaker 13 (27:51):
This is like, oh yeah, this is gonna happen, and
it's all gonna be great in the end. I'm just saying,
if there's a window, it's a very small, tiny hard
to get to win though, But this is it. I mean,
do you think this defense is not going to start
giving up sixteen points a game.

Speaker 3 (28:06):
No, No, I agree with you.

Speaker 6 (28:07):
I'm just saying I didn't think that pivoting from completely
away from what I thought the identity of this team
was going to be.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
I don't know how realistic that is. Yeah.

Speaker 13 (28:17):
The other thing is, I mean I think they want
to score points. That everybody has this perception that Tomlain
wants to win twelve to ten. I think when Kenny
Pickett or mister Bisky's his quarterback, he wants to do
that because he doesn't trust those guys to take the
chances to try to score more points at the risk
of turning it over and giving up more than you
can score. I think when he has a good quarterback,

(28:38):
he's open to scoring points.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
And I think he's got a good quarterback now.

Speaker 13 (28:43):
So, I mean, there was a game not too long
ago they had the tight end position to counted for
four touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Yeah, like definitely the high water mark.

Speaker 5 (28:52):
It doesn't have to be you know, that game and
still they with the lead in the second half. This
past week against Green Bay, they come out and refused
to run the ball, which was arguably what was giving
them any success in the first half. Any passing game
success they have was predicated on how good the run

(29:13):
was doing. And they gave the ball with Jalen Warren
three times in the second half. It makes absolutely no
sense why they abandoned that try to pass on their
first snap of the third quarter. It didn't work.

Speaker 13 (29:25):
So now you're second and ten, so now you try
and and then a three and out became the punt
pass sixty yarder, and then they scored, and they just came
unglued Cleveland across the port. It wasn't just and Tom
and made this point yesterday the response thing. We didn't
have the adequate response. We didn't have the fight. That

(29:45):
applied to the offense too. In the package, he.

Speaker 5 (29:48):
Said that they got like demoralized basically after that third
down non uh penalty call.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
They didn't buck up and just deal with it.

Speaker 5 (29:56):
But Mike the Browns, Jim Schwartz defense, you'd say, good defense. Yeah,
they got tired of trying to tackle Jalen Warren. He
broke through in the second half.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
What were we doing there? One carrying not the right stuff.

Speaker 5 (30:12):
One carrying that's like that is malpractice, gross negligence.

Speaker 13 (30:18):
Steelers get Dougger and a seventh round pick from New
England for a sixth round pick. According to in Rappaport,
the Patriots are going to pay most of the five
point four million remaining on his nine point seventy five
million salary this year and his one million in game
roster bonuses. The last two years of Douggler's contract, according

(30:41):
to Rappaport, have been wiped out, so he'll be a
free agent again at the end of this year. Rappaport
also reporting that Deshaun Elliott's going to go on injured
reserve to make roster space for Dugger and Tom Pelsero
reporting that former Commander safety Derek Forrest is going to
with the Steelers practice squad. He's played forty games in

(31:03):
the league, seventeen starts, none this year.

Speaker 5 (31:05):
All right, we'll get to Penguins and World Series. Blue
Jays tied up. Last night, we did Mister Wednesday on
the way, Abbey's got your news at the top of

Speaker 3 (32:31):
Mister Wednesday is here.

Speaker 10 (32:33):
Here he is.

Speaker 3 (32:34):
Good morning, good.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
Morning, Happy Halloween. Yeah yeah, are you excited.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
Well, you're gonna have to bring off freaking ponchos. Is
that gonna be like pouring down rain in like forty degrees?
Which is I guess that's the Halloweens that I'm used to.
I remember last year I was wearing like shorts, So
this is typical. This is a little bit more typical Halloween.
There should always be like a threat of snow. I
feel like, yeah, I definitely had SnO know as a

(33:00):
kid Halloween, no question. And then you know, when you
have to wear a coat over your costume, it just
completely screws up. I'm Spider Man, but I'm Chilli spider Man,
Arctic spider Man.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
At this point it does Erindale.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
Yeah, this is the first year that were I actually
because I've always sort of viewed Halloween costumes as a
little just a little bit too wasteful. You wear them
for like three seconds, and you know, scrap them. But
this year we went to the Halloweens, the Spirit Halloween
Store went in. I let my kids basically get whatever
they want, and we went to a Halloween party on Saturday.
They walked in the house and within six minutes they

(33:38):
were like, get this off. Me because we want to
go play football on the trampoline.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
What's the costumes this year?

Speaker 1 (33:44):
My older son wanted to be something scary, so he
just was like like a ghost faced, you know, murder
or something like that ghost. And then my other son,
we've never watched SpongeBob in our house at all, but
he wanted to be Patrick from SpongeBob and he just
has one of those gigantic.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
Inflatable things with the fan attached to it.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
But that's the one. He walked in, had it in.

Speaker 1 (34:08):
Everyone laughed for about thirty seconds, and then he starts
like shimmying out of it to go jump on the trampoline.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
So there goes that.

Speaker 5 (34:16):
The problem with costumes as an adult is a lot
of times you want to do something like as a kid,
it just whatever makes you happy at the time. And Abby,
you were talking about the fact that your daughter has
an anime costume and you have absolutely no idea who
this character is, and what is your confidence level that
she will look back on that as an adult and
go like, oh, yeah, I love that character.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
Which she doesn't even watch it.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
Yeah, yeah, okay, it's just a cool yeah, like on trend,
so that I'll appreciate like her uniqueness, you know what
I mean.

Speaker 3 (34:45):
Like she'll be like I was always doing something a
little different.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
That is her calling card, Yeah for sure, But that
is more of an adult thing that she's kind of
like doing something that is like a pop culture moment,
because if I look back at costumes I had as
an adult, they're always like, oh, that's the guy from
Boardwalk Empire.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
Yeah, yeah, I remember that would have a face. Yeah,
it was a good TV show. Yes, if you look
at it now, it's nobody would know what the hell
it is. I remember at the beginning of the pandemic,
I was King Tiger King. Cool. Yeah, don iris half
Tiger King.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
We're totally cool with just doing like pop culture flashes
as adult is more rare in a kid.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
Yeah, don't let her feel bad. One time, I was
raiding from Mortal Kombat, So anybody even knows what that that.
That's a sort of a deep cut. And I are
you from Big Trouble in Little China?

Speaker 9 (35:38):
What is this? Well?

Speaker 1 (35:39):
Yeah, I was wearing the whole coolie. This is back
in nineteen you know, ninety four. When where do you
get that costume with the bad I had a karate gee,
from when I was doing karate and my yellow belt kid. Yeah,
and then I my mom put a bunch of shish
kebab things onto onto a paper mache hat to make
a little koolie and uh and.

Speaker 3 (35:59):
We didn't get canceled for that. Surprisingly you didn't do
a voice or anything.

Speaker 5 (36:04):
Yeah, but I would imagine as big as video games
are now that like you know, over the last fifteen
years that that's been a very popular trend, is that
kids dress up like video game characters because now they're
becoming movies and everything else. Like when I was a kid,
like Mortal komback here that that's kind of a clever
kid over.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
Well, me and my one friend went is sub Zero,
Like my other friend went to Scorpions, so like it
was a little bit of a of a ensemble Halloween costume.

Speaker 3 (36:35):
But like you know, I think now, like I went
to a Halloween party on Saturday. It was funny.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
We went to two Halloween parties on Saturday.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
One was with a sort of a group of friends
that like, we're just just becoming friends, so it's not
like deep relationships yet, but it's getting there.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
But there's still a little bit.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
Of posturing and you know, you don't feel one just
one hundred percent comfortable quite yet. You're getting there, but
you're not quite there yet. The second party we were
going to was all was my college friends. So when
we got back the car, me and my wife were
just like, oh, thank god, we can just go relax
our shoulders and you know, everything like that. We walk
into my friends my college friends party, thinking there was

(37:13):
gonna be like maybe eighteen people, all of whom we knew.
We walk in and there's sixty people in this house,
forty of whom are like twenty seven year olds that
we've never seen before, in elaborate costumes, makeup, fake mustaches,
led lights, fog machines.

Speaker 3 (37:35):
Yeah, and so they were just.

Speaker 1 (37:37):
Like, Okay, I guess we gotta start tap dancing again,
like let's let's get around with this. But it turned
out of somebody's younger brother who invited like nineteen people
to a house party in the suburbs.

Speaker 3 (37:47):
But but we were just laughing because it was like.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
The level of effort that single, when you were single,
that you could put into a Halloween costume was phenomenal.

Speaker 5 (37:57):
It was crazy. You're weak, yes, like you don't have
things to worry about. And when you are a parent
and you have all of these other things on your
honey do list all week.

Speaker 2 (38:09):
Long, the assembling of the Halloween costume gets pushed back
on the back burner. My wife has a break in
case of emergency Halloween costume that she's used like three times.
And it's just an adult taco. You're just like sliding
over your.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
Head and you're just a taco, and like it'll be
like Thursday or something like that, and she's like, I'm
a taco. I'm gonna I'm just gonna be a taco,
be a taco. And it gets enough, you know, it's
enough to do. We one time dressed up like big
time elaborate. There was that again, the pop culture moment.
There was a Marvel show on Disney Plus called The
Vision and Wanda, and so we dressed up as Vision

(38:45):
and Scarlet, which full costume.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
I did red face paint the whole forehead.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
We had nowhere to go, we had no parties to
go to, so we walked around the neighborhood with our kids,
which on Halloween it was cold that year.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
It took seventeen minutes.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
And then we got back and I was like wiping
face paint off after I had just like Creature of
the Black lagooned myself for like eight minutes, you know,
or like eighty minutes trying to get into this thing.

Speaker 3 (39:11):
It was such a waste of time.

Speaker 6 (39:12):
No, wait a minute, I have a question for you.
When you were dressed up as Vision, were you wearing
your glasses?

Speaker 2 (39:17):
Uh?

Speaker 12 (39:18):
No, I know.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
I threw contacts. I threw contacts.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
It's hilarious. Yeah, the Vision has lost his power. Well
as a bad guy, I'm starting to really run out
of options. Go damn use every time.

Speaker 1 (39:29):
That's true, I've already hit. I've done a vision. I've
done that. I was Stone called Steve Austin last year.
So like I out of like goes Jay Glazer, Captain
Jeall Hoop Picard is like pretty much the last one
that the last character.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
You know.

Speaker 5 (39:45):
What's funny is you bring up that that your wife
has a the break breaking cliate you break last in
case of emergency Halloween costume. The one that I always
had when I was younger was I'm like, I don't
have anything, so I would do it every year was
I was a guy falling from a building, and what
I would do is I would put on a sport
jacket and a tie, and then I put a like

(40:05):
a wire hangar through the thigh and then had the
tie going up in the air. And then I would
put gel in my hair and blow dry it straight up,
and then I would I would put things tape them
coming out of my pockets on to the jacket so
it looked like stuff was flying on my pockets.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
And then people were like what are you?

Speaker 2 (40:19):
And I'm like, I'm a guy falling off a billion
And then I would do the face like put my
hands up and make the face like.

Speaker 3 (40:25):
This is like it's nineteen.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
Twenty nine and I lost a lot of money in
the sock exactly, I'm plumbing to.

Speaker 5 (40:30):
My death on Black Friday. No, that was that was
at a much more innocent, simpler time. Yes, so when
you wouldn't read too much into like somebody jumping.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
Up a book, don't you remember, Like I feel like
years it was more of an looty Tunes kind of thing. Yeah,
what do you because I feel like now remember when
like people used to go as like really offensive Halloween
costumes like yeah, but I'm talking like two Like Bill
Maher would go as like steverr when like with a
sting ray sticker through his heart, like a week after
he died.

Speaker 17 (40:59):
Or some like that.

Speaker 3 (41:00):
I feel like that is like you don't see anyone
with a crazy.

Speaker 5 (41:04):
Age of social media, people in people going to black face.
I was at a I was living in the erie
when the pizza bomber thing happened.

Speaker 2 (41:12):
And someone or Halloween costume went as that and it
was not well received.

Speaker 3 (41:18):
It was a lot of I knew that. I know,
yeah exactly, it was did not go over.

Speaker 1 (41:26):
Maybe so maybe that's for the better, Maybe that maybe
that maybe that's self censorship is actually maybe a little bit.

Speaker 3 (41:32):
Maybe we were getting a little carried away with that.

Speaker 6 (41:34):
As recent as one of those kiss parties on Halloween
at Stage a E, I saw somebody with a ray
Rice jersey with shoulder pads dragging an unconscious woman like dog.

Speaker 3 (41:48):
I was, Oh, my god, Wow, are you kidding me?
It seems to me I'm laughing. I can't, I don't
want to. I don't want to say that I'm laughing,
but I'm laughing.

Speaker 5 (41:57):
That's one of those things where when you're told about it,
you laugh, but if you're the person doing it, it
is so you gotta.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
Do that all night. Yeah, it's every party you go to.
It is that is a bad one. Well, think about it.

Speaker 1 (42:10):
You're taking a big swing when you when you do
that too, if you're walking to a party of people
that you either either know or don't know, if you're
going to the big party like that, Like, that's that's
a big that's a big massa ball hanging out there.

Speaker 2 (42:25):
If it doesn't land, I mean, I don't know. I
would just uh put a Steelers jersey on as a
you know, member of the secondary and like maybe has
some burn marks on it.

Speaker 3 (42:33):
Or something like that. Yeah, that's about the level of
political statement. Want to say this now? Yeah, right is
criticizing sports teams.

Speaker 5 (42:42):
Mister Wednesday Cole hanging out with us, Abby, I'll have
your news when we come back.

Speaker 8 (42:46):
We actually have a little more Halloween talk that we're
going to do and it's mostly going to center around etiquette.

Speaker 9 (42:51):
That's on the way for you.

Speaker 2 (42:52):
Mark Madden eight forty five DVE.

Speaker 15 (42:54):
It's time for the Steelers Daily Report on DVE, brought
to you by your Neighborhood for its store at Steelers
Pro Shop. Get it direct from the team at shop
dot Steelers dot com here's Tom Opperman.

Speaker 18 (43:05):
The Steelers defense had another rough night Sunday against the
Green Bay Packers, especially when it comes to the play
of their secondary. The defensive backfield allowed Jordan Love to
torch the Steelers to the tune of three hundred and
sixty yards and three touchdown passes as he might strode
a twenty eight point second half for Green Bay's offense
that delivered them the thirty five to twenty five victory
in Pittsburgh. Whether it was tackling woes, lack of pressure
on the quarterback, or just a straight up inability to

(43:27):
cover all of the above was plaguing the secondary as
they couldn't come up with any answers for a second
straight week against.

Speaker 3 (43:33):
Its opponent's passing attack.

Speaker 18 (43:35):
The Steelers task won't get any easier when it comes
to stopping the passing game, as the colt Spring the
NFL's number five passing offense to town this Sunday. And
making things more difficult for the Steelers is the knee
injury to safety to Shaun Elliott.

Speaker 2 (43:46):
But reinforcements are on the way.

Speaker 18 (43:47):
Steelers traded for New England Patriots safety Kyle Dugger last night,
sending a sixth round pick to the Patriots for Dugger
and a seventh round pick. Dugger has spent all six
seasons of his NFL career in New England, starting sixty
nine games and compiling nine in or septions in his
time there. Steelers hit the practice field for the first
time this week today as they begin to prep for
the Colts on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (44:06):
On tom Opframan with the Steelers report, Ford F Series
a name you'll remember.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
They're the best selling trucks in America.

Speaker 5 (44:19):
It just seems you can easily sort of explain it
away by like it's intelligence operations by other countries.

Speaker 3 (44:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (44:29):
Yeah, those are the identified flying objects.

Speaker 5 (44:33):
Yeah, as opposed to something that traveled light years just
to poke a guy in the rictus. You know, like,
I don't see that being it is that the only
story he usually is. They're always pro Why are aliens
so gay? This is what they do, That's why they
don't want to here, just to get that et finger

(44:55):
some work.

Speaker 3 (44:57):
That's what the et finger was.

Speaker 2 (44:59):
Yes, the world's most gifted proctologists.

Speaker 4 (45:03):
Randy Bellman and the DV morning shows.

Speaker 2 (45:07):
It might be like the interplanetary Provincetown for them. You
know what I mean, Like they can leave their straight
alien life and come here and it's super gay, and
they go home and their wives are like, what are
you doing.

Speaker 3 (45:16):
They're like nothing, and they're.

Speaker 2 (45:18):
Like we're talking about They're like living on the down
low intergalactically. Let me see your finger. So it's like,
why do you have so much puerile in the spaceship? Yeah,
no reason, It's all single cell organisms down there. Honey,
I don't know what to tell you.

Speaker 5 (45:38):
Mister Wendesay hf concle hanging out with us here, and
we were talking off air about a lot of offensive
Halloween costumes for the years, and that is the most
single avoidable thing abby that anybody can do, is stay
away from a controversial Halloween costume because in the day

(45:58):
of social media, it's not just this Halloween, it's forever.

Speaker 3 (46:05):
It's forever.

Speaker 8 (46:07):
And listen, everybody has a chance to step in it
this week because Halloween's on a Friday, and your office
probably wants to do some cue and say that everybody
gets to dress up for Halloween because we're all going
back to the office now. So keep this in mind
as you're going to the office on Halloween that if

(46:29):
you are planning to wear a costume to work. A
couple guide rails one. You could talk to your manager
or even hr first. If this is your first Halloween
at your job, you don't want to be the one
person who didn't get the memo one about not dressing up,
like you don't want to not be fun.

Speaker 3 (46:50):
But if you have questions about your costume, you could ask.

Speaker 1 (46:55):
I almost feel like, if you if you're if you're
on the face, probably shouldn't.

Speaker 3 (47:01):
Shouldn't do it? Yeah, because you want to know if
you can dress up like a minion? You know what
I mean?

Speaker 10 (47:09):
Right?

Speaker 2 (47:10):
No one has questions unless there is a guy in
your office that looks a lot like a minion. Is
Carl gonna think I'm making fun of him? Well he's
jaundice yeah, and he's johndiced and the cyclops Yeah, so
that's not cool.

Speaker 7 (47:22):
Very specific, but I mean if people.

Speaker 5 (47:26):
Are fighting about it on social media, I would stay
away from characters in that topic.

Speaker 2 (47:30):
It's an easy way to at least have a sort
of baseline.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
Well, what are those characters this year?

Speaker 14 (47:36):
Like?

Speaker 3 (47:37):
What are we to stay away from?

Speaker 1 (47:40):
I think there's a very obvious one and his name
is on Starbucks cups recently.

Speaker 3 (47:47):
Stay away from that.

Speaker 9 (47:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (47:50):
Also, make sure your costume doesn't interfere with your job,
Like if you can't sit down or walk, that's.

Speaker 3 (47:58):
Not gonna work for I gotta tell you that's just
sort of a general See.

Speaker 2 (48:04):
I don't know like anyone who's like a Transformer or
something that's like, you know, huge and boxy or something
like that and is an inconvenience to be around in
a crowded party that there's a sliding scale. The costume
better be insane to put up with you knocking like
a stemware off of the island countertops of the people

(48:26):
that you're visiting.

Speaker 10 (48:26):
You know.

Speaker 2 (48:27):
So, so if it's it's fine if it's elaborate, but you.

Speaker 1 (48:30):
Gotta make sure it it exceeds everybody's expectations. If you're
going to be an inconvenience, yes, so bring a.

Speaker 3 (48:37):
Change of clothes.

Speaker 8 (48:38):
There's also another good rule of thumb in case it sucks.
And the other thing is check your calendar because if
you have a zoom or really important commitment that is
all falling on that Friday, I want to.

Speaker 3 (48:53):
Be I have a story.

Speaker 1 (48:55):
Okay, he clapped like a little yes, So I one
time got fired over zoom. This is this is fairly
recently from a company that I was. I was working
with and i'd been with it. It sort of came
out of the blue. I got I was it was
Friday of Halloween. I got an email from the general

(49:15):
manager at eleven o'clock and said meeting at twelve o'clock.

Speaker 3 (49:19):
And I was like, that's not good.

Speaker 1 (49:21):
I was like, there's never there's never an urgent, vague
meeting that takes place in an hour.

Speaker 3 (49:26):
That's good. So I was sort of preparing myself. So anyway,
guy goes on.

Speaker 1 (49:30):
He proceeds to let me know that they're you know,
moving a different direction or anything like that, and it
was shocking. So I was already like a little like
no fore warning or anything like that. So I was
a little mad about the whole thing. And on the
Zoom call, he it's it's head up only and I
see he's got these suspenders on, and it comes to
my realization that he has just fired me. Wearing German

(49:54):
later hosen and I and now I'm like, did you
just can me after eight years of service? During what
a Halloween party? He goes, yeah, it's our it's our
corporate Halloween party, and so it was one of those.

Speaker 3 (50:10):
I had thought you asked him about.

Speaker 2 (50:11):
I had two choices to say, so, either he didn't
work for like hofbrow House, or no, no, no, this
is this is this said nothing to do with the
brand identity of the company.

Speaker 1 (50:21):
So I had two choices. Has your have your kids
ever made you so mad? But they made you laugh,
like at the same thing. But You're like, I got
to stay in the pocket, like I'm supposed to be
mad right now, but I really that was what I
was like, I was I was it was so ridiculous
that I was so close to laughing, but I was like,
I can't let this guy know that I think this
is funny.

Speaker 3 (50:41):
So I got to stay angry in the stay in
the pocket. But yeah, from the European vacation just fire. Yeah,
oh it was.

Speaker 2 (50:49):
It was so I tell the story now it was funny,
but at the time I was like kind of mad
about Oh, that's absolutely hilarious. I'm just thinking of costumes
that would be completely like the worst costume to get
fired by somebody, like wearing a Humpty Dumpty costume or
something like that.

Speaker 19 (51:04):
You know.

Speaker 3 (51:05):
Bill Lamberg from Office space. I'm gonna need you to
go ahead and not come in yeah or whatever again.

Speaker 2 (51:13):
But he's like dressed like the Joker, and yeah, like
anything with makeup with.

Speaker 1 (51:17):
Executioner might be a little too on the type of
thing we're going through, corporate layoffs.

Speaker 3 (51:25):
You log into the zoom, it's just fog. Not good.

Speaker 9 (51:29):
I'm not good, not good.

Speaker 2 (51:33):
Term for being fired over zoom.

Speaker 3 (51:36):
There.

Speaker 2 (51:36):
I'm surprised we haven't come up with tired sired. Yeah, yeah, No,
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (51:41):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (51:41):
I didn't like the phone call, would have been fine.
Didn't need didn't need the face to face interaction on
that one.

Speaker 5 (51:47):
But that's like, that's like a client cutting ties with you,
not so much like you get fired from your job,
which yes, essentially yeah yeah.

Speaker 3 (51:55):
Did you think about dressing up for the zoom?

Speaker 2 (51:58):
No, But in retrospect, I probably should have, because when
you get that, there's no When you're in a in
a situation where you're either getting acts as a client, fired, whatever,
there's no coming back. No one has ever successfully When
the decision is made to fire, you'd be like, well,
are you sure about that? Because I can do this, this,
and this. No one says ah, you know what, forget
it like it's happening no matter what.

Speaker 1 (52:18):
So if you get that eleven o'clock email for a
twelve o'clock meeting or you know whatever, or four o'clock
on a Friday, you might as well go all in
because you're not reversing it. There's nothing that's gonna happen
happen that you're going to do to salvage this, so
you might as well have fun with it.

Speaker 5 (52:32):
I guess the lily thing that would be worse than
a costume is if one of those filters was on
the zoom where their eyes were really big or something.

Speaker 3 (52:37):
Like that, and maybe that or it's like transforming him
into a kiddy cap. Yeah, yeah, I like, I can't
believe this. The dog tongue comes comes.

Speaker 7 (52:43):
Out, he's kicking a rainbow.

Speaker 2 (52:47):
Does that happen in a court case? Yeah, someone couldn't
get their filter off.

Speaker 3 (52:52):
A judge, wasn't it. No, it was a lawyer and
the judge is mad about it.

Speaker 2 (52:56):
Yeah, my kids did. I don't know what your honor.
I'm sorry off.

Speaker 3 (53:02):
All right? Just about every year on local news channels.

Speaker 8 (53:06):
In Reddit's am I the a whole forum next door
threads and lots of queries. People are seeking advice from
etiquette columnists asking is it rude to neighborhood hop on.

Speaker 5 (53:20):
Halloween as a kid, like Yeah, to like go to
a more affluent neighborhood with the hopes of getting a
hit more significant hall.

Speaker 3 (53:31):
Here's where it's rude.

Speaker 1 (53:32):
If you have an existing group that's sort of locked
into Halloween. If you just leave the group behind, Yeah,
then it's rude. It's not rude if you have no
existing allegiances to anything like that. Like, we have a
neighborhood squad that we kind of roll around with. If
we were to leave and go to the neighborhood that
has full sized snicker bars at every single house, then
that would be mutinous.

Speaker 5 (53:54):
But don't People will go to like Regent Square because
it's so awesome Halloween, are you?

Speaker 20 (54:00):
I mean?

Speaker 6 (54:00):
I have you know when we first moved out to
the South Hills, I used to go to Region Square
all the time just because it's all flat, it's a
tight little.

Speaker 3 (54:10):
Grid and and the kids just love it.

Speaker 6 (54:13):
Everybody everybody in Region Square goes all out for Halloween.

Speaker 2 (54:19):
But did you have existing ties to your neighborhood at
that point?

Speaker 3 (54:22):
While you were. While you were, no other.

Speaker 6 (54:24):
Than my brother and my sister in law lived in
the house we grew up in that time, their kids,
and so yeah, I had I had a reason to
go over there. Now I walk around the neighborhood with
my sister and her kids because my kids don't want
anything to do with me on Halloween.

Speaker 3 (54:38):
But I love that.

Speaker 6 (54:40):
But I always thought like, no, you can't come into
Like when I was a kid, I was like, I
don't want you in my neighborhood. If you're not from
my neighborhood, get the hell out of yeah, right right,
But the walls have come down.

Speaker 3 (54:50):
Since we grew up, you know, the walls of Jericho
have come crumble. Plus neighborhoods.

Speaker 1 (54:55):
I think everybody got a little jealousy because back in
the day, like you someone dropped the full size Milky
Way in your bag, you were like, this neighborhood is
coming up right now, And now everyone like very rarely
do you do you have like somebody just giving out,
like single Jolly Ranchers or anything like that.

Speaker 3 (55:13):
Like they all step their game up.

Speaker 1 (55:15):
My kids come home with more candy than they could
eat in maybe ten years, and then just sits in
the kitchen drawer and we graze on that throughout the
year as a family and try to whittle it down.

Speaker 5 (55:26):
I was just gonna see if Sean Collier knows a
couple of like out of work actors that want to
come and give out candy like at the end of
my driveway, like whilst performing like.

Speaker 3 (55:35):
In costume and like Macbeth. Yeah, well like something scary,
like you know.

Speaker 2 (55:41):
Yeah, they're just constantly like on the verge of murdering
each other, and they're like, hold on, snickers, get a
fencing team.

Speaker 3 (55:48):
Yeah, I'm out eleven and fencing. There you go, idea.
It's not giving way to clouds to day rain this
afternoon in a high.

Speaker 2 (55:55):
Of fifty, Mister Wednesday, Jeff Conkle with us this morning,
So no coming up or.

Speaker 3 (56:00):
You have no I got tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (56:02):
I believe Joe Bartneck's getting a little group of people
together go down to the improv. So we're going to
be at the improv tomorrow and then on in November
at Lowlev Beer. I can keep pushing this because I'm
I'm trying to get it to be a pretty good show.
A low Lev Beer down in like deep into Lawrenceville
almost to the Highland park Bridge. But it's cool place. Saturday,
November fifteenth, I'll be I'll be at low Love Beer too.

Speaker 3 (56:24):
Who's with you on that? I think I'm just the
marquee attraction there, which is a pace there.

Speaker 2 (56:30):
So yeah, yeah, well you don't have other comics.

Speaker 3 (56:32):
I don't know if I have an act. I haven't
named the support. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (56:36):
I'm just showing up to this. Somebody booked me for
it off someone else will be there. You're considering their
short list names. I don't know who might be there.
If I've taught to you guys anything, it's that I
can't manage my comedy career pretty much at all.

Speaker 2 (56:50):
So you guys have surely come to figure that out
at this point on the way for you, Mark Madden
at a forty five, we'll rate our algorithms. The Steelers
make some moves or one significant one, and yesterday bringing
in the safety from the Patriots, Kyle Dugger is now
a Pittsburgh Steeler and he'll join his former teammateer with
Peppers in the secondary and they're getting ready for the Colts.

Speaker 5 (57:12):
This is gonna be a brutal weekend. At one o'clock
game for the Steelers Sunday. It's gonna be a tough one,
no doubt about it.

Speaker 3 (57:17):
Nine am.

Speaker 5 (57:18):
The pregame starts here on DVE with Tom Offerman and
Matt Williamson, and then Pursuitter cranks up the network with
Labs in du Lac at eleven o'clock before that one
o'clock kickoff with Rob King, Max Stark's Missy Matthews Steelers Colts.

Speaker 2 (57:32):
They're back at it Sunday here on DVE.

Speaker 17 (57:36):
Chad Tyson on DVE is shifting gears all afternoon. First,
there's a Workforce commercial free set at three. Then there's
sports updates at top speed. There's a reloaded cut from
the DVE morning show in the afternoons in the car
with Tyson.

Speaker 12 (57:54):
On DV from the Bridgeville Appliance Weather Center known for
exceptional service. Bridgeville Appliance is looking for exceptional service tacks.
Contact Bridgeville Appliance to Bridgeville Appliance.

Speaker 13 (58:06):
Cam Hayward didn't think the Steelers responded the way they
should have or needed to throughout what became a Sunday
night collapse, an actressure against the Packers. Mike Tomlin as
it turned out didn't either.

Speaker 9 (58:18):
I certainly agree with that.

Speaker 14 (58:20):
As I mentioned, I don't think I like how we
responded to the explosion plays, fill flipping plays, drive producing
conversion third downs that happened in the third quarter. I
didn't think our offense responded very well to the non
call on the first third down of the half. And
you know, you don't always have control over what happens
to your end game. Rest assured, some things are going

(58:42):
to happen. There's ebb and flow of the course of
sixty minutes. But in that instance, as a collective, we
feel like we didn't respond in need the appropriate or
the desired way.

Speaker 9 (58:52):
We didn't smile in the face of it.

Speaker 14 (58:54):
We didn't produce the type of plays that counteract those
things and get the balance back in our favor. And
so we'll certainly being critical of ourselves, and we're utilizing
that as fuel as we prepare for our next opportunity.

Speaker 13 (59:08):
Tomlin his complaint with the response, as he explained, it
had more to do with playmaking than effort. It wasn't
so much the lack of effort as he perceived it.
It was that they just never made a play that
you know, turned the Tide didn't execute in any phase,
which is.

Speaker 2 (59:28):
Worse because if they were trying, they just can't do it.

Speaker 13 (59:33):
And I'm thinking also maybe when he was reviewing the tape,
there might have been a glitch on that Darius Slay
complete lack of effort play on the save Williams touchdown
that was that he didn't see it. Maybe it was
got that little circle thing and it just spun around
and then when it came back it was passed that time.

Speaker 5 (59:51):
I mean, he's not gonna he's not gonna hang those
guys out to dry in a press conference. We already
know that, right, So people get pissed when he doesn't
do that. If he did that, it would be disastrous.

Speaker 6 (01:00:01):
And he's and he's reprimanded people behind the scenes before,
like the one year with Pickens, he was finding him
and the team was finding Pickens a lot, and he
was defending him in these press conferences and saying, hey,
he's got to grow up, he's got to grow up quick,
and that kind of stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:00:16):
And I think that's probably good.

Speaker 5 (01:00:17):
Leadership, I agree, But the main problem behind that is
the talent assessment and procuring players in the first place.

Speaker 3 (01:00:28):
Is what's really lacking. It seems to be.

Speaker 13 (01:00:32):
The further we get into this, the more wrong some
of these evaluations seem to have been.

Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
They're buying bad groceries.

Speaker 3 (01:00:38):
Man.

Speaker 13 (01:00:40):
Good news is now that they've identified the problem, they
can start taking some eventual steps to solve it.

Speaker 14 (01:00:49):
The first component of fixing it is acknowledging it. You
really don't get an opportunity to fix it until you
face those circumstances again.

Speaker 9 (01:00:56):
And so we spent some time acknowledging it. We're going
to get back to work.

Speaker 14 (01:01:01):
We certainly believe that we work in the right spirit,
we do the right things environmentally. We're gonna get back
to work, man, and wait for our opportunity to rectify it.
You can spend a lot of time talking about your ills,
but the true fixes come in stadiums. And so that's
why sometimes I'm somewhat hesitant to respond to the how

(01:01:22):
do you fix it?

Speaker 9 (01:01:22):
Question?

Speaker 14 (01:01:23):
There's certainly procedurally things that you go about doing that
fixes it, but the fix happens in stadium and the
rest of it is just talk.

Speaker 3 (01:01:32):
He's read about that.

Speaker 6 (01:01:33):
I'm happy they've acknowledged it, but I'm curious is what
that looks like like? Negative affirmations, and we can't tackle anybody.
We can't cover a tight end.

Speaker 3 (01:01:43):
Welcome to acknowledging how bad we are.

Speaker 13 (01:01:47):
Help on the way in the form of Kyle Dugger,
former second round safety of the Patriots. The Steelers reportedly
get Dugger and a seventh round pick from New England
for a sixth round pick, and the Pays are picking
up a bunch of the salary. He's played a lot
of football for New England, not so much this season,

(01:02:08):
coming off an ankle injury last year.

Speaker 2 (01:02:11):
Kyle Dugger, they signed to him last year, to that
big contract. Yeah, I don't understand how that just goes away.
So they paid two years ago? Was it two years ago?

Speaker 3 (01:02:21):
Okay? Vrabel new regime. Maybe he doesn't like it, well,
that I get.

Speaker 5 (01:02:26):
It's just that I didn't understand how the remaining years
on that contract just dissolve at the end of this.

Speaker 3 (01:02:31):
I guess it's a mutual deal.

Speaker 13 (01:02:33):
I mean he can agree to uh to avoid it, okay,
because he'll be a free agent again after this year, and.

Speaker 2 (01:02:40):
He won't want someone to have to try to match
that contract in order to play.

Speaker 13 (01:02:44):
Yeah, or maybe he thinks he can get another big
one yeah, we'll see to Deshaun Elliott. According to Ian
Rappaport is going to go on the injured reserve list,
so uh Dugger or Jabrill Peppers would presumably be the
replacement there, and then we'll see what we see at
free safety. Lately, it's been one Thornhill and Chuck Clark

(01:03:05):
kind of split down.

Speaker 3 (01:03:06):
Of the Browns.

Speaker 2 (01:03:07):
Fans called him Jog Thornhill.

Speaker 3 (01:03:09):
Yeah yeah, he had a bad uh lack of effort
play that. Oh yeah, made the rounds on tape a
legendary tape.

Speaker 13 (01:03:17):
Also, according to Tom Pelasaro, the Steelers are going to
add former Commander safety Derek Forrest to their practice squad.
He's played forty career games, seventeen starts. We'll see if
and when he gets into the mix.

Speaker 3 (01:03:33):
Crazy.

Speaker 6 (01:03:34):
We already had Robert Woods, why not get Forest? I mean,
if is Barkivius Mingo still in the league, Dan Branch.

Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
Barkind Is into Brickish are my two favorite NFL names
of all time.

Speaker 13 (01:03:46):
I'd go pick up Dan Branch and Detroit and drive
me back here right. Crazy game in Philly last night
between the Penns and the Flyers.

Speaker 3 (01:03:55):
It ended three to two. Philly in a shootout.

Speaker 13 (01:03:58):
It included each team having a goal wiped off in overtime,
the Penguins because of getting Malkin on it. The late
penalty hit the ice too soon before the goaltender our
tours Se Lovs got to the bench, so malkins gold
didn't count. The Flyers had one wiped off for offside,
and then at the end of the five minute overtime
a freakis ensued. Each team got four to ten minute

(01:04:22):
misconducts for the trouble, including Sydney Crossby, who because of
the misconduct, was not available for the shootout because he
had misconducted Penns Flyers turning the clock back.

Speaker 3 (01:04:35):
Penguins still get a point. They're seven two and two.

Speaker 13 (01:04:38):
Crosbies eighth of the year, tied the game at two
to two with about eight minutes left, and the Penguins
have not lost the game in regulation since October the fourteenth.

Speaker 3 (01:04:49):
And five oho and two.

Speaker 5 (01:04:50):
Since I didn't watch any of that game last night,
and I understand they did not play their best hockey
and still ended up getting a point out of that.

Speaker 13 (01:04:56):
Yeah, So I just saw the highlights of the the
three on three brawl that guys came off the bench,
including sid uh it's good old fashioned pens flyer stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:05:08):
World Series game.

Speaker 2 (01:05:08):
Fee, a little bit of that, just to remind everybody, right,
absolutely may and that's.

Speaker 3 (01:05:15):
That's a sign of compete level.

Speaker 13 (01:05:18):
I mean, you can't do that every game, but every
once in a while you gotta you gotta do what
you gotta do. Especially in October. Hockey's kind of set
a tone, don't you think. I do think Game four
of the World Series, the Jays bounced back and tie
things up at two games apiece, beating the Dodger six
to two. Show Hey, O'tani six innings on the mound,

(01:05:38):
six hits, four runs, all of them, earned, one walk
and six strikeouts. Vlad Guerrero Junior took him out to
run shot in the third inning, and Otani was zero
for three at the plate, one walk and two strikeouts.

Speaker 2 (01:05:52):
I mean, well, the other thing is in between innings,
he's on base when he's pitching, you know.

Speaker 5 (01:05:58):
And it's well that last night, the night before he
was on the he got he got walked. He was
on base in the you did get one walk, he
walked to start to get one walk. But you know,
the fatigue factor there, I get it. I was just
hoping it was going to be some supernatural athletic event
that we were going to witness, that that guy was

(01:06:19):
going to come from the greatest game ever as a
hitter and then end up giving you a Kofaxian World
Series performance.

Speaker 13 (01:06:27):
I mean, you think gets slaughtered or anything, but but
it took him out and then and I think in
the last inning he sort of hit the wall. Game
Game Baber was five and a third of exactly what
the Blue Jays needed.

Speaker 9 (01:06:40):
Uh.

Speaker 13 (01:06:40):
Game five is tonight Trey you Savage for Toronto and
Blake Snell for the Dodgers. So I'm gonna guess Snell
is going to pitch six innings, dominate, and then get
yanked after seventy two pitches.

Speaker 2 (01:06:54):
History would suggest, Abby's heart your news coming up at
the top of the hour, how the.

Speaker 5 (01:08:39):
Randy Bauman, Bill Crawford, Abby Krisner, Mike Pursuit of Jacob
Brect as our producer, and once a week we like
to reveal what it is that is festering in our
algorithms because it's all different. The monoculture is gone and
we're all seeing different things. So it's time to turn
each other on to our respective algorithms.

Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
We're rating, We're rating.

Speaker 2 (01:09:03):
Me, we're rating.

Speaker 3 (01:09:10):
Duration. All right, let's start with Mike Pursuda.

Speaker 2 (01:09:14):
What's falling into your algorithm this week?

Speaker 3 (01:09:17):
One of the all timers Randall.

Speaker 13 (01:09:19):
You know how much we love the Steelers of the
seventies around these parts and revisiting that, particularly when things
are the way they are in the current day and age.
But one of the great Jack Lambert sound bites of
all time. This dates back to October twenty third, nineteen
seventy eight. It's a Monday night game, the Oilers against

(01:09:40):
the Steelers at three River Stadium, and the AVC crew,
Howard Cosell and Frank Gifford and the boys, they wanted
to get some opinions on whether or not quarterbacks needed
to be protected in the NFL because it was getting
violent out there, and they asked first Terry Bradshaw and
then Jack Lambert something needed to be done to protect

(01:10:02):
those poor qbs.

Speaker 20 (01:10:04):
Well, I'm one of the few that has spoken out
that I've seen enough rule changes in my nine years
in NFL for quarterbacks. It's something that I believe very
firmly and strongly. Part of the quarterbacks and athlete is
part of a football team. It's an aggressive, sometimes vicious
game and you have to be prepared mentally and physically
to accept that.

Speaker 3 (01:10:25):
I know that if older you get, the better in shape,
I think you should stay.

Speaker 20 (01:10:28):
And I know coach Madden at Oakland has said there
should be more done, but I just feel enough's been said,
enough's been written about the violence, especially against quarterbacks, and they.

Speaker 3 (01:10:38):
Are just let it lie in this play football.

Speaker 2 (01:10:41):
Do you think there should be any rules changes.

Speaker 4 (01:10:43):
For the safety of the quarterback.

Speaker 3 (01:10:47):
Well, it might be a good idea to put dresses
on all of them. That might help a little bit.

Speaker 20 (01:10:52):
I got caught last week for a late on Brian's Sipe,
and you know, in my opinion, it wasn't a late hit.

Speaker 13 (01:11:01):
You know, back when I was in junior high high school,
I was thought Brian Sipe would have looked pretty good
in n dress.

Speaker 2 (01:11:06):
The cardiac kids.

Speaker 6 (01:11:08):
It's incredible when you think about how violent they were
allowed to be at that time, and they thought that
they were you know, it should.

Speaker 3 (01:11:16):
Be in dresses. Well one guy did. Yeah, I mean,
but they could dump those guys on their neck.

Speaker 5 (01:11:21):
Yesterday was the anniversary of that Steelers Cowboys game. Is
the last time that Roger Staubach ever played against the Steelers.
I quote tweeted it, and I think steel City Star
was the account. Elsie Greenwood hits Stawbach.

Speaker 2 (01:11:36):
So hard his head looks like it goes into his
shoulder pads and he just drops dead to the turf,
just lifeless.

Speaker 5 (01:11:45):
Bam on the ground, and then you know they're all
struggling for the ball. After that, it was just stepping
on them and that was it. He had to be
helped off the field, and I don't think he played
for a couple of weeks after that.

Speaker 13 (01:11:55):
Some of the stuff built referenced a minute ago to
Joe Turkey, Joe turning Brad upside down and spiking his
head into the Cleveland Stadium turf with the steel curtain
used to do to Dan Pastorini of the Oilers. Yeah,
oh my god, that stuff was so much fun to watch.

Speaker 5 (01:12:14):
Right, But these guys are even bigger monsters now. I mean,
if you let Aaron Donald, Miles Garrett and company people
like that just do whatever they want to these quarterbacks,
you'd be like, oh, we got a Premier matchup this weekend,
Andy Dalton versus you know, case Keenum, you'd have no
starting quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (01:12:34):
Abby, what was in your algorithm?

Speaker 14 (01:12:36):
You know?

Speaker 8 (01:12:36):
A classic that we always like to lean on is
like a fart in church. You know, we have those
moments where a fart can break the tension. Oh yeah,
And also because in our industry we've known to have
some like ghosts in the machine, and so if anybody
ever does like any kind of podcasting or anything like that,
you have like a lot of preloaded sounds. But when

(01:12:58):
you're running like maybe a heist, cool play and in
a really poignant moment, there's some pre loaded sounds like
why is.

Speaker 3 (01:13:04):
That even on the soundboard? I'm sorry. The best part

(01:13:27):
is the play never recovers.

Speaker 8 (01:13:30):
They're just losing it that all the actors are just
crying because I can't see.

Speaker 3 (01:13:43):
That girl's probably so pisch solo.

Speaker 16 (01:13:47):
She's God, bless my.

Speaker 3 (01:13:52):
Bill. What are you in yours? This week? Okay?

Speaker 6 (01:13:54):
So I guess we talked about this earlier in the
week and it found its way into my algorithm. We
were talking about Ursa's daughter being on the sideline with
her headset, and since the Colts are coming into town
this week, I thought this would be a good thing
to use for the Algo listen to what she says
she's learned about the game by being on the headset.

Speaker 22 (01:14:15):
I need to learn more about this. I need to
be able to say, is this person full of bs?
Do they even know what they're talking about? And I
think one of the things that being on the headset
has really helped me learn is to the question earlier.

Speaker 3 (01:14:31):
There is such a.

Speaker 22 (01:14:32):
Complex organism a football team and how it operates and
on game day and you could say, oh, that person
ran that route wrong. When you learn to find someone
tagged the wrong wide receiver and it wasn't really the
player's fault, it was the person that called it so
and it's never I think that's been a very valuable

(01:14:54):
because it also helps us be able to know.

Speaker 3 (01:14:58):
Where do we need to make tweaks? What real or
do we need? What are what do we need to fix?

Speaker 22 (01:15:02):
So much of it comes down to just how we
operate and how things work, and the headsets are really
I wish more. I would suggest it for anyone else
that has to pay coaches and gms millions and millions
of dollars.

Speaker 3 (01:15:16):
It helps you make a less expensive mistake potentially.

Speaker 2 (01:15:20):
I actually think this is brilliant and I again think
it's a copyat League, and I think ar should start
doing it.

Speaker 3 (01:15:26):
I think every female Rooney should be on the on
those headsets.

Speaker 13 (01:15:29):
Apparently she's been doing this for a little while now
and everybody just noticed it this year.

Speaker 5 (01:15:34):
Hmm, Well yeah, I mean it wasn't a this year thing,
a lot more focused on her since her dad passed.

Speaker 6 (01:15:38):
But it does make sense, like you're you're locating the issue.
Is it a coordinator, is it a coach?

Speaker 3 (01:15:46):
Is it the GM. Is it one of these players?

Speaker 2 (01:15:48):
Well there's yeah, because they're revealing a lot of stuff.

Speaker 13 (01:15:51):
It's like a live action audit basically, just just listening
to the interaction and how they do what they do,
did they function or is it?

Speaker 2 (01:15:59):
This?

Speaker 18 (01:15:59):
Is it?

Speaker 10 (01:15:59):
At?

Speaker 3 (01:16:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (01:16:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:16:01):
Is somebody not a good communicator on the set?

Speaker 2 (01:16:03):
Will she be on the sidelines?

Speaker 3 (01:16:05):
Yeah? Sunday.

Speaker 5 (01:16:06):
Oh yeah, we gotta mess with that radio transfer the like,
we gotta do a little Belichickian thing in there. We're
gonna throw some TV in there. Yeah, exactly, that'd be
tremendous something like that. Have Steely just intercept it?

Speaker 6 (01:16:19):
Oh god, oh my god, Carly, I am such a
big fan. He starts chiming in on the headset. How
the hell did Steally get in? We're gonna play Rotgates?

Speaker 2 (01:16:30):
So, long time listener, first time interrupter, All right in
my algorithm this week.

Speaker 9 (01:16:37):
You know.

Speaker 5 (01:16:38):
In nineteen eighty five, the Chicago Bears changed the NFL forever,
and mostly because they were the most dominating defense that
the league had ever seen, and they had character after
character and it was like a team of celebrities, and
so they put out they were so cocky.

Speaker 2 (01:16:55):
They put out the super Bowl Shuffle. Now, the super
Bowl Shuffle was an actual hit. Oh yeah, it was
everywhere you heard the super Bowl Shuffle in nineteen eighty five.

Speaker 3 (01:17:07):
And premature, but still, I mean, that's how cocky they were.
They did it.

Speaker 2 (01:17:12):
They're like, nobody's gonna beat us, we can put out
our super Bowl Shuffle now, although I think they lost
the game after it came out to like the Dolphins
or something like that.

Speaker 3 (01:17:23):
Yeah, and then they rolled the rest of the way.

Speaker 2 (01:17:25):
But it again, it's always been a copycat league, and
other teams started doing it, but not every team had
the same personalities that made it the Super Bowl Shuffle fun.
There's another like refrigerator Perry or Walter Payton or Jim
McMahon on every team.

Speaker 5 (01:17:42):
And in nineteen eighty six the Rams did one. Now,
a bunch of teams did them, to be fair, but
this one is particularly bad. The nineteen eighty six Rams
had their star was of course Eric Dickerson. Okay, at
quarterback they had Jim Everett and Steve Bartkowski was backing

(01:18:03):
him up.

Speaker 3 (01:18:03):
Just to give you an idea how long ago this was.

Speaker 2 (01:18:05):
Mike uh and Kevin Green was their defensive star. And
they had a song that wasn't quite as catchy as
the Super Bowl Shuffle and maybe in retrospect should have
had a different name. This was the nineteen eighty six
Los Angeles Rams singing, let's ram it about.

Speaker 3 (01:18:23):
We had a rabbit to see.

Speaker 10 (01:18:24):
If your ramites right, you can ram it all night,
nob it.

Speaker 3 (01:18:38):
That's so good right now with Holly, if you throw
it that way, it's going to be a right. I
like your ram as you could see, no buddy.

Speaker 10 (01:18:46):
Like ramm and.

Speaker 23 (01:18:52):
Rabbit even went in my moves like they called me
to team run from the toast of the.

Speaker 9 (01:19:05):
Hit, I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:19:16):
The rock in l a.

Speaker 13 (01:19:23):
Magic Johnson's like I am. You know, the Steelers planned
one of those before the Chargers game, and it came
out before the game. The song came out before. It's
just that they were planning on their super Bowl video
before they played what was that called? Oh there were

(01:19:43):
no details, but it was I think ge Bouchette had
the story. Uh oh, dude, we got to find out.

Speaker 6 (01:19:49):
They had they want to hear about what they were
going to do for their Super bowk So they didn't
get into the studio and never got cat that track.

Speaker 3 (01:19:56):
Yeah, because natron means business.

Speaker 9 (01:19:59):
They didn't of that.

Speaker 5 (01:20:01):
I wonder who a who wrote it or was going
to write it and be what that was going to
be called, because that is absolutely hilarious.

Speaker 3 (01:20:10):
I just can't.

Speaker 5 (01:20:10):
Imagine the Steelers ever doing that. Also, it's the the
like the meter of those raps are all so funny
to me that one was actually the most.

Speaker 3 (01:20:25):
Rabbit.

Speaker 2 (01:20:28):
They're like, we have to make it simple enough that
a white tackle can do this for us, so that
our guard can do a verse.

Speaker 3 (01:20:38):
No chance, No, not at all, Neil O'Donnell, fire Marshall,
Bill leading the charge.

Speaker 13 (01:20:47):
Rabbit, rabbit to see if you can ram it? All right,
all right, I've never heard of that, never heard that.
Rammitt I didn't know it existed. I didn't know it's
a isn't it?

Speaker 3 (01:20:59):
Did they I met that year?

Speaker 20 (01:21:00):
No?

Speaker 10 (01:21:01):
No, no, no.

Speaker 9 (01:21:04):
They did not.

Speaker 2 (01:21:04):
Nineteen eighty six who was like the niner ll Giants?

Speaker 3 (01:21:09):
Was the Patriots?

Speaker 2 (01:21:11):
Oh no, no, no, that's that's eighty six was technically
the Bears eighty five team.

Speaker 5 (01:21:17):
It was the Giants. Yes, that was the Phil Simms
Super Bowl over the was it the night oh the Broncos?

Speaker 3 (01:21:24):
Yeah, just yea.

Speaker 13 (01:21:26):
It was like ten nothing to forty two to ten
or was that that was the Washington Redskins Denver Sims
didn't miss in that game. He was like twenty thirty
nine to twenty. It was like twenty one to twenty three.
Something ridiculous. For at the time, that was that was insane.
Thirty nine remained that for a long long time. Back then,
you couldn't imagine a guy completing twenty passes in a row. No,

(01:21:48):
you just couldn't wrap your head around that that would
even be a thing. Ever, that's like, hey, last song
just just signed Jeff Flackowever, you should.

Speaker 3 (01:21:55):
Have no problem.

Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
All right, Well that's our algorithms. How many did Flacco
having a row on us?

Speaker 5 (01:22:03):
Twenty flack? Oh no, Jordan Love had twenty, but yeah,
twenty completions. Flaccode had a pretty good run there for
a while too.

Speaker 6 (01:22:14):
Yeah, sixteen completed. Well, don't worry through to him twenty
three times. We got Kyle Duggar. Everything's gonna be fine. Now,
Abby's got your news when we came back.

Speaker 8 (01:22:20):
How the penny shortage can benefit you this weekend at
Giant Eagle, Mark Madden eight forty five and early visit
from the super genius today and you.

Speaker 6 (01:22:28):
Played the greatest song in the world for.

Speaker 9 (01:22:29):
Me only if you can pick it.

Speaker 17 (01:22:32):
Let us know your lunch requests on our socials phone
or the talk back button on the iHeart radio app
that one you picked this songs on the Electric Lunch
at noon on dv E this October.

Speaker 3 (01:22:45):
Skip the tricks and get behind the wheel of a
brand new vehicle.

Speaker 2 (01:22:48):
I'd see Harper Kreisler does, Gee Bram, it's the treat
you've been waiting.

Speaker 3 (01:22:51):
For, And I'd been with it. It sort of came
out of the blue. I got. I was it was
Friday of Halloween.

Speaker 1 (01:22:57):
I got an email from the general manager at eleven
o'clock and said meeting at twelve o'clock.

Speaker 3 (01:23:02):
And I was like, that's not good.

Speaker 1 (01:23:04):
I was like, there's never there's never an urgent, vague
meeting that takes place in an hour.

Speaker 3 (01:23:09):
That's good.

Speaker 1 (01:23:10):
So I was sort of preparing myself. So anyway, guy
goes on. He proceeds to let me know that they're,
you know, moving a different direction or anything like that,
and it was shocking. So I was already like a
little like no fore warning or anything like that. So
it's a little mad about the whole thing, and on
the zoom call he it's head up only, and I
see he's got these suspenders on, and it comes to

(01:23:33):
my realization that he has just fired me wearing German
later Hosen.

Speaker 4 (01:23:40):
Brandy Bellman and the DV Morning Joeyan is a.

Speaker 5 (01:23:43):
Bad day to get fired, no doubt about it, mister Wesday.
Jeff Conckle, he was on with us earlier. Tomorrow night,
he'll be at the Improv along with Joe Bartnick. Joe
Bartnick will be in a studio with U tomorrow but
kind of a pop up show that's happening Joe Barnick
and friends. And I think Mike's Idell is going to
be out there as well tomorrow night. So that's Improv

(01:24:06):
dot Com four one, two, four, six, two, five, two
through three to get your tickets to see mister Wednesday
along with Joe Bartnick and friends at the Waterfront. So
in our algorithm segment, I played let's ram it from
the nineteen eighty six rams and we were talking about
how there was this whole like, you know, a bunch
of Super Bowl Shuffle inspired music videos that came out

(01:24:28):
in the NFL. In the ensuing year and the Steelers
were planning on one before the AFC Championship game against
the Chargers. Bill, Yeah, and we were trying to figure
out who organized that, and Tim Benz came to the rescue.

Speaker 17 (01:24:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:24:42):
Eric Green and Chad Brown talked about it in a
trip Live article that that Benzi sent us that I'm
gonna definitely tweet out because this is hilarious.

Speaker 5 (01:24:52):
Apparently they felt so bad about it. Like the following year,
John L. Williams said, the guys realized the opportunity in
front of them. They're not going to put themselves in
position to repeat last year. We can't do things unrelated
to football. Yeah, Chad Brown said, took your eye off
the ball? Were people not looking at film and practicing
their dance moves. He's like, it wasn't that bad, but

(01:25:14):
it was just sort of emblematic of lack of focus.
So during the break I looked up because iying remember
there was a bunch of them and Abby and I
have been cueuing these songs. Bill, These are so bad.
This is from nineteen eighty six the Los Angeles Raiders.
Howie Long, Marcus Allen, Matt Millen, Todd Christiansen is in

(01:25:36):
the gallery here. And the funny thing about all of
these videos they all have the same sort of like choreography,
which there's always a room where they're all like just
doing the side to side.

Speaker 3 (01:25:45):
Dance, Yeah, singing in unison.

Speaker 5 (01:25:49):
And this was from the NFL on NBC a young
Bob Costas in nineteen eighty six introducing this.

Speaker 24 (01:25:57):
So now watch out Chicago Bears, and for that matter,
watch out Springsteen, Dire Straits and Madonna. Here come the Raiders.

(01:26:31):
They all wrapped together that they have eye black on
underneath for the video The Lord, how we.

Speaker 25 (01:26:49):
Long glory every day.

Speaker 3 (01:26:55):
To the mom with a flat talk.

Speaker 20 (01:26:58):
This long time sax and I love to sit off
running back.

Speaker 26 (01:27:03):
Oh man, so bad. They're all doing it like the
Fat Boys or you know Sugarhill Gang.

Speaker 3 (01:27:16):
I love the Fat Boys so much. Okay.

Speaker 5 (01:27:19):
Then there was the forty nine Ers. Uh this is
forty nine ers rap and you'll hear Ronnie Lott by
the way, I.

Speaker 3 (01:27:28):
Mean this is yeah, the eighties. I mean they were
good enough to make these songs.

Speaker 2 (01:27:31):
I have fast forwarded past the How long was the intro?

Speaker 3 (01:27:34):
Just like well over a minute?

Speaker 8 (01:27:38):
Instrumental like wow, it was like a keyboard, but it
was a saxophone, but it was a keyboard.

Speaker 3 (01:27:44):
You couldn't see the video abby that that, but I could,
you know what I mean, Like I didn't see it,
but it was in my mind.

Speaker 2 (01:27:51):
They were doing there's like this horn intro and here
I gotta play a little of it for you. It's
so cheesy eighties synth, but it's not horn. It's the
synthesizer playing horns. But they film the players pretending to play.

Speaker 3 (01:28:05):
The brass, which is dude. This song that right there
they have it sounds like everything in the eighties.

Speaker 2 (01:28:19):
It sounds like something that we would do as a
like parody, except Eric Hickerson's going to roll up to
the mic here and I mean, these players are getting
down and they are like the.

Speaker 3 (01:28:30):
Eighties porn music. Okay, okay, here's the deal. We rather
them like Tim just me, Roger Craig and a couple
of phrase.

Speaker 27 (01:28:37):
You know, we played a game where you pass the
run some Most of all, we ought to have big bucks.

Speaker 3 (01:28:43):
I'll get the ball every now and then they call
me Roger.

Speaker 25 (01:28:46):
I us do the dude.

Speaker 3 (01:28:48):
I'm on a team that's never been fine to San Francisco.
He ripped his shirt off when he said that Jun,
I'm about to give a VISs I stick for wide
receiver and.

Speaker 9 (01:29:06):
Macau his mama does.

Speaker 10 (01:29:08):
Don't don't try to run.

Speaker 9 (01:29:10):
I pull a run and put you out of the game.

Speaker 3 (01:29:12):
Sons, it's your decision.

Speaker 25 (01:29:14):
I flew your vision.

Speaker 3 (01:29:15):
I put your whole family out of commission. It's mem
real nice. But you got to say hi to my homeboy,
Jerry Rice.

Speaker 9 (01:29:23):
My name is Jerry Ray.

Speaker 3 (01:29:25):
Please don't try to come because you paint the fright,
I mean so bad. I'll give you a bove.

Speaker 12 (01:29:30):
You be thinking that you may, don't you not to?

Speaker 17 (01:29:33):
You know, I get to the knee.

Speaker 27 (01:29:35):
Hey, hey, wait a minute, man, what about me? Dunk
the bullets and I love pay day. I turned the
loss and two a ten yard game on my bullet
and you could do what you want because I ain't
going down Jack's.

Speaker 25 (01:29:48):
This team means too much to me and to all
up the players.

Speaker 3 (01:29:51):
We'll see it in the scene.

Speaker 2 (01:29:52):
Worth the team, I mean, wow, Inscene, wow, wow, Now.

Speaker 3 (01:29:59):
Bless you think they're all rap.

Speaker 2 (01:30:02):
You know, some teams thought like, yo, maybe we should
make it a little more like I don't know, R
and B or like maybe a little more just kind
of soulful or something. And I don't know what the
Seahawks were thinking in nineteen eighty five, but they do
this video where they're all looking very tired in the
locker room and they're all.

Speaker 5 (01:30:22):
They're all yawning, and they're like slowly lifting weights like
they're just exhausted. And I don't know who number fifty
five is their linebacker. He comes through and gives the
guys a pep talk and then the music starts and Bill,
tell me if you think this was a good idea
in terms of choice or genre.

Speaker 3 (01:30:36):
I've been working out and didn't thrown.

Speaker 19 (01:30:44):
And the Blue Waves on the Road, we'd got the
on the run and Blue Waves on a road.

Speaker 2 (01:31:08):
I don't even know how good they were. I mean,
it's like Steve Largent. I think Dave Craig was their quarterback.

Speaker 6 (01:31:13):
I was gonna say, yeah, I remember them cooking through
and getting any Super Bowls in the eighties.

Speaker 3 (01:31:19):
We were as well as we were teams.

Speaker 5 (01:31:22):
It's just so lackety sacks. That's kind of where it is.
And then the New England Patriots commission these people to
do a song I guess to counter the Super Bowl
Shuffle because they played them in the Super Bowl that year,
and the whole town rallied around this song. So this
was not really the team so much as this was there.
Here we go and it was called New England the Patriots,

(01:31:46):
and we I mean, come on, dude, it's just so special.

Speaker 3 (01:32:14):
And then it didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:32:15):
The craze didn't really dine out for a couple of years,
and then in nineteen ninety the Dolphins put can't touch
us out, get that on for.

Speaker 3 (01:32:25):
You, Blue forty two, Blue forty two. Yah, hut hunt hunt.

Speaker 25 (01:32:44):
I want to Myammy hits them.

Speaker 2 (01:32:50):
Oh my lord, thank you, blessing you with all those
Dolphins and all that's good.

Speaker 23 (01:32:55):
Let me know you're down with the super Bowl team
and a super hometown.

Speaker 25 (01:32:58):
We're old.

Speaker 10 (01:33:01):
You can't.

Speaker 3 (01:33:02):
I mean, was that so? Wait? Was that the Marino's
first year?

Speaker 9 (01:33:07):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:33:07):
No, no, he'd already been there for a while. Okay,
because they never got back, I thought.

Speaker 5 (01:33:11):
I don't think so. I mean, I think that's just
pure cocaine decisions, right, what that is? I think I
like the forty nine ers wrap the most out of
all of them, the New England or the Seahawks. One
I don't understand at all.

Speaker 3 (01:33:25):
It doesn't make any sense and is too fast.

Speaker 5 (01:33:27):
It's just really bad. And thank god the Steelers never
put one out. I mean, just the notion that they
were thinking about it was bad enough.

Speaker 3 (01:33:34):
Eric Green, I do.

Speaker 6 (01:33:37):
I've always wondered what it would have been like to
hear Barry Foster and some of those guys wrap though
I don't know Greg Lloyd, I mean, avoid Lloyd.

Speaker 2 (01:33:49):
I bet Greg Lloyd could rap.

Speaker 3 (01:33:51):
I think even if he couldn't, I would say, you're
the best.

Speaker 2 (01:33:54):
You're so good, right, you're the best. Please don't murder
the best that ever did it. Abby got an update
for you.

Speaker 3 (01:33:58):
What's going on?

Speaker 8 (01:33:59):
Is this hour window nations giving way to clouds rain
this afternoon a high fifty five. A penny shortage is
affecting retailers nationwide, so if you've got some, use them.
The Treasury Department halted penny production in May, and the
US Mint cranked out its last batch of pennies in August,
so now a growing number of stores or reporting issues.
The American Banking Association says up to two hundred and

(01:34:21):
fifty billion pennies are still in circulation, but notes some
localized supply issues. So here's what to expect when paying
cash without pennies. Some stores arounding the total to benefit
the customer, and others say not to expect correct change.
So if you have a stash of pennies, go ahead
and start spending them, but locally. For one day only,

(01:34:43):
Giant Eagle shoppers can double the value of their spare pennies.
So from eleven am to four pm on November First,
shoppers can bring in their spare pennies to any Giant
Eagle or Market District store and exchange them for Giant
Eagle gift cards. The exchange requires a minimum of fifty
cents in pennies, resulting in a one dollar gift card,

(01:35:05):
and allows the maximum of one dollars in pennies resulting
in a two hundred dollars gift card.

Speaker 3 (01:35:10):
Okay, pennies. I used to have a penny jar. I
used to have a penny jar. Yeah, well just to
change jar and then there's pennies in it. I guess
that's what it is.

Speaker 2 (01:35:20):
Really, But I don't have money on me anymore. Like
even when I was going to I told you I
went to that the Pittsburgh Catholic Diocese, you know, football
championship on Saturday, and I was driving there, thinking, am
I gonna have to pay to get into this thing?

Speaker 5 (01:35:32):
Like I don't have to cash? No, it was free thankfully.
Oh really yeah, I mean it's like seventh and eighth
graders playing football.

Speaker 3 (01:35:38):
But that doesn't matter.

Speaker 6 (01:35:40):
I mean, I'm I'm paying to go see, you know,
volleyball games in middle school.

Speaker 3 (01:35:44):
I'm going I'm paying to see like lacrosse games.

Speaker 5 (01:35:48):
Or yeah, not thankful. Maybe I just knuck in. I'm
not sure, but I never didn't. I never have cash anymore.

Speaker 6 (01:35:55):
Well, a lot of those places, even the high school
games now, like they have like a little square code
you could, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:36:02):
Go buy them online.

Speaker 2 (01:36:04):
University of Southern California something pennies isn't it didn't somebody
say at some point like melting down pennies was going
to be more worth more than pennies.

Speaker 3 (01:36:14):
Oh, like there was this mean going on, right, No,
what are pennies made out of copper?

Speaker 5 (01:36:21):
But there was somebody who said they cashed in like
two hundred thousand dollars worth of they wanted it all
in nickels because whatever, I don't know, nickel is in nichols.
I'm not sure what metal was in there, but it
was going to be worth more than the actual nickel soon,
and so they wanted to like have it all and
then sell it for the metal, which didn't make any

(01:36:44):
sense to me.

Speaker 3 (01:36:45):
No pun intended. I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:36:51):
I know that I used to like my nickname was
Billy Nichols at one point in high school because I
worked at Applebee's in Edgewood Town Center and the bartender
used to tip me out and all change used to
give me a three pound envelope I just had a
million Nikels in it, and I would just put it
in my pocket. So every time I got up off
the couch, it would just be change everywhere, and they'd

(01:37:13):
be like, damn, Billy Nichols, go to the Coinstar, what
the hell are you doing?

Speaker 3 (01:37:16):
Was there Coinstar? I was going to ask you? Was
that around? I think it might have just come out, yeah,
in the late nineties.

Speaker 5 (01:37:22):
Somehow, the first few times you do Coinstar, you're like,
you feel like you're making out. You know, You're like, yeah,
I just totally bimboozled these guys walking here with me cash.

Speaker 7 (01:37:33):
I'm a thousand percent doing this this Saturday.

Speaker 3 (01:37:36):
Yeah, you have hell makes sense. Yeah, I do, because
I do.

Speaker 8 (01:37:41):
The laundry, and so every time I go through, I
empty out everybody's pockets and I put them in this
mason jar that's right next to the laundry.

Speaker 3 (01:37:49):
And I have a stash. How much do you think
you have me?

Speaker 10 (01:37:55):
There's a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:37:56):
There's a lot.

Speaker 8 (01:37:57):
And I think this would be a good project for
Edie as well, who has no concept of money at all.

Speaker 2 (01:38:02):
Do you have more coins next to the laundry or
guitar picks, ear plugs, ear plugs and guitar ear plugs,
guitar picks.

Speaker 8 (01:38:12):
There's a lot of like nails and screwdriver like like
little screws.

Speaker 3 (01:38:16):
And wrappers, yeah, candy wrappers.

Speaker 7 (01:38:21):
Anything, rappers, Yeah, all things like that.

Speaker 5 (01:38:25):
The ear plugs, earplugs, and guitar picks always yep. If
you ever need earpluge or guitar picks, they're always next
to the washer and dryer.

Speaker 3 (01:38:32):
Yep, pull stack of them you need them. I got them.

Speaker 8 (01:38:35):
A University of Southern California study reveals HBO's Emmy winning
the Pit motivates viewers toward organ donation and end of
life preparations. Research examining two multi episode storylines shows, twenty
six point nine percent of surveyed audiences sought organ donation information,
while seventeen point two percent shared donation details with others.

(01:38:58):
The organ donation narrow have particularly resonated with black viewers,
a demographic overrepresented a transplant waiting lists, yet under represented
on as donors. Concerning end of life planning, thirty eight
percent of viewers pursued additional information after watching episodes of
The Pit.

Speaker 3 (01:39:17):
Hey, that's pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (01:39:19):
It's good that it had that collateral effect.

Speaker 3 (01:39:20):
It's a good show. I love The Pit.

Speaker 5 (01:39:23):
I went I watched it a second time, like as
like I'd throw it on while I was like, you know,
ride my bike or something when I was doing stationary stuff.
And it is hilarious to me how many like wedged
in Pittsburgh references they throw in there. But uh, I'm
I know it was supposed to be ER, a continuation

(01:39:44):
of ER. I'm not sure what is so compelling about
that show, Like, it's not the Pittsburgh that keeps keeps
me watching it like that. Those were fun and little
storylines like the guy's dog's name is Crosby. Yeah, and
they're like sidne hear David he's like David and I'm like,
nobody would have admit, no, no, they did the city. Yeah,
I mean I think no, Noah Wiley.

Speaker 6 (01:40:05):
Wiley is definitely a star, a television star. He makes
it really fun to watch how good he is, and
just that there's constant action they go for that. I mean,
it's non stop. It feels like live you know, basically
people watching a hospital function.

Speaker 5 (01:40:25):
Yeah, and it is using the template that twenty four
had on Fox, the Keefer Sutherland's show right where it's
like every pacing episode is an hour of that day.

Speaker 2 (01:40:36):
Yeah, it's just a continuation.

Speaker 8 (01:40:39):
They're good feeding the reward system though that they're also
going back to a storyline. So if you were enjoying
a certain storyline they like reward you like a little
lab rat that they're coming back to it because of that.

Speaker 6 (01:40:50):
The only thing that I have a hard time with
is the graphic nature of the show, some of the
cuts and incisions and those that like that's it's.

Speaker 3 (01:40:59):
A lot, a lot of a lot of pain, a
lot of pain for an HBO show.

Speaker 8 (01:41:06):
It's normal.

Speaker 2 (01:41:07):
There's no worse pain than hospital, hospital pain, hospital, the
worst kind of pain.

Speaker 3 (01:41:12):
Pean.

Speaker 8 (01:41:14):
I worked in a hospital for a rotation in psych
saw a lot of pain and I was in the
geriatric unit.

Speaker 2 (01:41:21):
You're like, and I was a receptionist, old pain, Like
there's for some reason they like their knees up a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:41:30):
Damn.

Speaker 8 (01:41:31):
That's the first person they saw every morning, knees up Like,
huh Leonard put it away.

Speaker 6 (01:41:37):
Oh that looks like touchdown, Jesus, look what I did.

Speaker 7 (01:41:45):
Good morning?

Speaker 3 (01:41:45):
No, good morning.

Speaker 9 (01:41:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:41:48):
That was the worst part about when my dad was sick,
was like in that asst limited assisted living facility, nobody
there's just people walking around.

Speaker 5 (01:41:55):
They don't know what's going on, you know. He was
like in the demential wards. So that it was really like,
that's what that's what I work. Yeah, there's just people
are like walking around with no pants.

Speaker 3 (01:42:03):
Yeah, so I did.

Speaker 2 (01:42:03):
I just wanted to make everyone feel comfortable.

Speaker 8 (01:42:05):
That's what I did too, And that's why they kicked
me off that rotation.

Speaker 2 (01:42:09):
And they're like, you can't keep doing that trying to assimilate.

Speaker 7 (01:42:11):
I mean like I just thought, that's what we're not.
It's I'm giving away to clouds rain this afternoon.

Speaker 5 (01:42:18):
It's I have fifty five this week's WTV bud Like
game day bar the week, Monicello's and Cranberry this NFL season,
stopping Monticello's in Cranberry, UH and enjoy three dollars bud
Light sixteen ounce drafts during all Steelers games. Bud Light's
easy to drink, easy to enjoy. Michael, have your sports
coming up here just a little bit. The UH Steelers
making some moves, trying to fill in for the Deshaun

(01:42:40):
Elliott injury by acquiring the Patriots safety Kyle Dogger.

Speaker 6 (01:42:45):
Anymore, are we going to try to complete the set?
How many safeties today have left?

Speaker 3 (01:42:49):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:42:51):
Like it's a salt and pepper shaker, Well it's a pepper.
We yeah, that is we got peppers, right, peppers.

Speaker 5 (01:43:00):
Also, the Penguins get a point but lose to the
Flyers and the Blue Jays evening up in the World Series.
Sports Coming up next, Mark Madden at a forty five
here on.

Speaker 17 (01:43:09):
DV, Tyson is safe for highway travel and ready to
get you from here to there. He's got a reloaded
cut from the DV morning show Sports and a Workforce
commercial Free hour at three afternoons with chat Tyson on DV.

Speaker 12 (01:43:28):
From the Bridgeville Appling Sports suff brought to you by
Bridgeville Appliants.

Speaker 13 (01:43:32):
The Steelers collapse at Actressy against the Packers included a
lack of fight, Mike Tomlins confirmed yesterday, but the Steelers
head coach also clarified what he specifically perceived to be
lacking against Green Bay.

Speaker 14 (01:43:46):
No, I don't necessarily say a lack of fight in
terms of effort. I'm talking about fight in terms of playmaking.
You know, you don't get credit for trying hard. We're
not in the try hard business. Our fight is a
production and producing and we certainly didn't produce enough plays
over the last thirty minutes of the game, particularly in

(01:44:06):
any of the phases, to secure victory.

Speaker 3 (01:44:10):
They did not, and victory was not secured.

Speaker 5 (01:44:14):
Didn't it sound like he explained away the defense's problems
on Sunday Night by reducing it to two big splash
plays on third down, and if you take those away,
he's almost fine with the defensive effort.

Speaker 10 (01:44:28):
Now.

Speaker 13 (01:44:29):
I know some people interpret it that way. I did
not get that impression at all. We'll play that next
hour if you like. I think what the one hundred
yards and two third down plays? He talked about that stuff,
specifically the fifty nine yard being the catalyst for the
oh woe is us kind of malaise that they.

Speaker 2 (01:44:46):
Well, I mean that very easily could have been picked
off right there, and then you have the ball on
the twenty eight.

Speaker 13 (01:44:51):
Or whatever it would have been. I think that's what
he saw it. If those are two plays, they absolutely
should have made of the fact that they're not is
the problem. And I think that that well, I think
he's acknowledging that. I don't think he's saying to take
those two plays away and we're good. I didn't get
that at all.

Speaker 16 (01:45:07):
Now.

Speaker 6 (01:45:07):
I didn't take that from it either, And I think
that that play in particular was compounded by the fact
that Elliott got hurt.

Speaker 3 (01:45:13):
The gruesome injury to.

Speaker 13 (01:45:16):
Popular the glue back, yeah, for sure, but you know
nobody stepped up thereafter in any phase, and that of
course included the defense. So you can add that to
the list of deficiencies that has conspired so far, at
least to prevent this defense from becoming as historic as

(01:45:36):
initially advertised.

Speaker 9 (01:45:38):
We make no.

Speaker 14 (01:45:39):
Excuses about how or why we fall short. Our job
is to perform and perform at a high level, and
we haven't done that. And so I'm excited about getting
back to it. Seven games or whatever doesn't make a season.
We certainly got more in front of us and more
opportunities to write our story, whether it's individuals, whether it's
a component of our team, or whether it's our team

(01:46:02):
in general.

Speaker 9 (01:46:03):
I think that's our general mindset.

Speaker 5 (01:46:05):
I know that we're talking about Okay, they're turning themselves
into the Bengals now where they're acknowledging their defensive shortcomings.

Speaker 3 (01:46:12):
Saying they're doing that.

Speaker 13 (01:46:13):
I'm just saying, that's my theory for whatever path there
is to avoid catastrophe, that is it.

Speaker 5 (01:46:20):
I still don't think that you want to look at
the offense as something that goes out there and tries
to score quick.

Speaker 13 (01:46:28):
They still need to base it off of the running game.
Absolutely got to possess it. It's got to be pretty specific.

Speaker 2 (01:46:34):
Like take your time, but make sure you finish the
drive and don't settle for bos like get bas off
everybody's fantasy team.

Speaker 3 (01:46:42):
Yeah they are.

Speaker 13 (01:46:43):
They're tied for eleventh in points per game right now,
twenty five per game, which by Steeler standards.

Speaker 3 (01:46:49):
Have recent vantages fast improvement. It's a revelation.

Speaker 6 (01:46:53):
They got to get that up and they got to
possess the ball while they do it, I think definitely.
And they need timely drives too, Like the context matters
coming out in the second half and going three and
out right off the jump or not good enough.

Speaker 13 (01:47:10):
Or as we've seen the last two weeks, more points
in the first half when you have the other team
on the run. Yep, settle in for three field goals. Yeah,
the game a lot different. They only got ten points
in the first half against the Bengals and they left
points on the field and its a lot of points
on that and in this game it was three field
goals and only one touchdown. Maybe maybe if it's more

(01:47:30):
than sixteen to seven, maybe if it's twenty three, maybe
it's a difficult I mean I always.

Speaker 5 (01:47:35):
Look at that, like, you know, short field goals are
one thing. When you're he's hitting bombs, then you're not
really moving the ball that much.

Speaker 2 (01:47:43):
Well, it depends where he started. What's the I wonder
what that one is.

Speaker 13 (01:47:50):
Yeah, when you kick a field goal, because you drop
the thirty three yard touchdown pass in the end zone,
that was pretty close to being a touchdown, even though
it's a low field goal.

Speaker 2 (01:48:00):
Made Rogers drop the f and cs or you didn't
see that. No, oh yeah, you get good lip reading
on that one. He was passed when DK dropped that touchdown,
Oh yeah, or had it broken up or however you
want to Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:48:16):
No, it was a great play. And also maybe you
should have caught it. Yeah, position is body better.

Speaker 13 (01:48:21):
If you're going to be a highly paid, highly touted
this is our guy type of guy, then.

Speaker 3 (01:48:25):
That's a play.

Speaker 2 (01:48:26):
K played it like it was an easy catch and
not a combat catch.

Speaker 6 (01:48:29):
Right, And I think that, you know, the coaches is
upset because he sees these drives that are promising stall
through penalties or just drop balls.

Speaker 3 (01:48:39):
Or you know, just mental errors like offensive pass interference. Yeah,
like that.

Speaker 13 (01:48:49):
Kyle Dugat reportedly is on the way. Here's an interesting
little uh nugget related to that. Steele has played the
Patriots in Week three at your Lette Stadium. They had
just acquired Dubrill Peppers not long before that. Elliott to
Shaun Elliott was out at the time. Of course he's
out again. Peppers had two tackles, four assists, six combined tackles,

(01:49:14):
and a fumble recovery in forty three snaps fifty eight
percent of the defensive snaps. Kyle Dugger was playing for
New England at the time. He had one tackle, one assist,
two combined tackles, eighteen defensive snaps thirty three percent. He
was basically in that game. He was basically a first
and second down guy that was kind of looking out

(01:49:34):
for tight ends. Hey, Packers tight end just said six
hundred and thirty eight receiving gyards. You know, maybe they
need somebody to cover a tight end, but I don't
think Kyle Dugger. It's pretty good to me. Him and
Peppers are kind of the same guy. I know Douglas
played a little free safety in his career. You still
got a Chuck Clark one Thornhill problem on the back end?

Speaker 16 (01:49:55):
Would you.

Speaker 5 (01:49:58):
Put Ramsey at safety param with I don't think neither
of those guys can cover, so I guess you can't.
Like if the knock on Peppers and Dugger is that
they're not great in coverage, Yeah, I mean you're you're
If there are a couple of thumpers, that's one thing, but.

Speaker 3 (01:50:19):
You're gonna need those in this game too. Theoretically, you
could put Ramsey at safety.

Speaker 13 (01:50:25):
And then Peppers or Dugger at the other safety right,
and then Porter and Ecchos or Sleigh, which.

Speaker 3 (01:50:31):
I'd be going.

Speaker 2 (01:50:33):
Slay Sligh has announced? And then who's the nickel? Is
Arthur Malette still on the roster playing for somebody else?
Or no, no, he's somebody Detroit?

Speaker 13 (01:50:47):
Yes, yeah, because everybody in the secondary is hurt for Detroit,
but somehow they continue to win.

You can, m Martin, you can end this at any time.

Mark? How are you hello again?

Speaker 10 (01:54:58):
Everybody?

Speaker 5 (01:54:59):
We were just we were going down the list of
NFL teams rap videos from the eighties after the Super
Bowl shovel and we were playing as they lead into you,
let's ramm it from the nineteen eighty six rams ram it.

Speaker 2 (01:55:13):
Yeah, would you like to hear a little.

Speaker 3 (01:55:14):
Bit I would not know about.

Speaker 10 (01:55:18):
I said no, I said no.

Speaker 3 (01:55:21):
Yes, he did say no very clearly. Oh I thought
it was yes. Your phone broke up.

Speaker 10 (01:55:24):
I remember when the Steelers had that rap video planned.
I don't think they did it, but they had a plan.
They were talking about the media before they lost in
that gratuitous upset to the San Diego Chargers and Stan
Humphries in the nineteen ninety four AFC Championship Game. So
so rap is crap as far as these Steelers.

Speaker 3 (01:55:42):
That are concerned.

Speaker 2 (01:55:43):
Eric Green was the one that tried to organize that.

Speaker 5 (01:55:46):
And the funny thing about that was that late in
the game was way past when NFL teams were even
doing that anymore.

Speaker 10 (01:55:55):
Well, another example of the Steelers being gratuitously behind the.

Speaker 6 (01:55:58):
Times and I think you know now, it's just players
have their own rap albums. Like ab had his own
rap album, Le'Veon Bell had his own rap album.

Speaker 3 (01:56:07):
Both were awful. Do you know what's funny?

Speaker 6 (01:56:09):
Though?

Speaker 2 (01:56:09):
When I hear we were listening to all of those raps,
mark they have the the meter of the eighties rat
like Bill said the Fat Boys, like everyone is bump
bump bump bu bu bah blah blah blah bu bub bah. Right,
And when I hear that, I feel like, if Russell
Wilson put out a rap song today, that's exactly what
it would sound like.

Speaker 10 (01:56:27):
Remember when like, womp there it is was the national anthem,
pretty much like to show you how out of touch
sports editing desk Star newspapers. I remember Ed Bouchett wrote
a story about Neil o'donald, the Steelers quarterback at the time,
who had had a really hot start to the season.
It was at the top of all the passer ratings.

(01:56:48):
So Ed's lead was when you look at the NFL
quarterbacking statistics, you're shocked, Woomp, there it is Neil o'donald
at the top of everything, and.

Speaker 2 (01:56:58):
The desk changed it to roll there he is, Hey guys,
we couldn't get much better.

Speaker 6 (01:57:09):
Damn, I've never seen like like the version of like
a white person trying to dance in text.

Speaker 10 (01:57:16):
Yes, if you ever want to find the most out
of touch people in the world for pop culture, go
to an editing desk with a newspaper for sports.

Speaker 3 (01:57:27):
And Mark, I'm sure you feel the same way I do.

Speaker 13 (01:57:29):
Is we've both done newspapers and then transition to radio.
The best thing about radio is they can't edit what
comes out of your mouth.

Speaker 10 (01:57:38):
If you're trying to say death to all those who
edit sports.

Speaker 3 (01:57:40):
Coffee, I'm with you, all right. That seems a little heart.

Speaker 10 (01:57:46):
Oh no, no, let me tell you my story there.
And I'm tepted to name the guy. I did a
story for the Post because at one time a page
three like those huge stories analyzing the both and development
of the trap in hockey because the Devils were using
it to slow to slow, you know, the game down
gratuitously and making it boring. And and my other premise

(01:58:07):
was I talked to Scotty Bowman, who was then with
the Red Wings and when he was with the Canadians
in the seventies, who were the most tigh powered offensive team. Ever,
arguably he used to trap every shift, but he used
it to attack, like as soon as the puck turned over,
four guys went the other way. So there were different
ways to trap. And Scotty Bowman sent me a diagram
of his trap, so the graphics department used that diagram to,

(01:58:31):
you know, to make one for the paper, a big
feature diagram in the middle of this story, and the
sports editors and Time decided he didn't understand it, so
he changed it. And when it got in the paper,
there were six skaters on the trapping team and and
Craig Patrick said to me, no, wonder that works. You
can use the guy like and I went. I went

(01:58:52):
to my boss and I said, okay, so you're smarter
than Scotty Bowman when it comes to diagramming the trap,
which he frigging invented.

Speaker 5 (01:59:01):
Yeah, you know, sometimes you just gotta rem it, all right.
So mark the Steelers facing the Colts this weekend. This
is not going to be an easy one. This Colts offense,
high powers defense in free fall. But you know we've
got the dugger to go with peppers now from the Patriots.
As Bill said earlier, we got the complete set now

(01:59:24):
defensively Salt Peppers. I think that what frustrated people the
most about Mike Tomlin's press conference yesterday was that he
was not directly acknowledging the issues.

Speaker 2 (01:59:35):
And I don't think it's because he doesn't know them.

Speaker 5 (01:59:37):
I think because that's how bad things are defensively, that
he kind of has to mask how unproductive they are
compared to expectation from coach Tomlin when he declared they
might be historic this year.

Speaker 10 (01:59:52):
Well, what got me Mattis was when he led off
the presser yesterday just like he did after the game,
by blaming the offense for not getting enough touchdowns, which
is traceable to him too, although not as directly, I suppose,
as with the defense. But yeah, I mean, nobody's demanded
accountability for this guy since day one. Why would they
do it now? He can say what he wants and

(02:00:13):
half of the people out there, more than half, really
swallow it. Although I think that fraction is changing, the
defense should be absolutely ashamed of itself, just ashamed of itself. TJ.
Watt no playoff wins, Cam Hayward won playoff win. All
they ever want is more money. All they ever cared
about in the first place was money. They're not competitors,
they're not winners. They're not mean. Joe Green, like I
wanted to call him last week, and I might have

(02:00:35):
said on the show, but I'll repeat myself gladly. You know,
all I know about me and Joe Green is that
he won for super Bowls. I don't know how many
All pros he got. I don't know about his Defensive
Player of the Years, And you know what, that's all
I need to know, and all means Joe wanted me
to know. These guys are about to bag and about
everything but winning. And I know that because they don't win.

Speaker 6 (02:00:53):
And to your point, this weekend, that Super Bowl XL
team is going to be there. I don't know anybody
on that defense's contract extension situation over the course of
their career.

Speaker 3 (02:01:05):
I just know those guys won a Super Bowl.

Speaker 10 (02:01:07):
Yeah, exactly right. And these guys they put themselves in
a position with all the angling for money and all
the greed and all the big mop gym teacher meatthead
bs that they promulgate all the time when they had
to win, and they don't. Not only not winning, Bill,
but they stink. That defense stink. That defense is among
the worst Steeler defenses in history.

Speaker 9 (02:01:27):
I don't know if you've heard the.

Speaker 10 (02:01:28):
James Harrison sondbite.

Speaker 3 (02:01:29):
Oh yeah he was.

Speaker 10 (02:01:31):
He was practically screaming and crying and threatening at the
same time. It's just these guys, like I said, should
be ashamed of themselves if they're not unembarrassed for them.
But I'm also embarrassed for the Steeler fans who sold
all their tickets to Packer fans to turn a few
shekels and sacrificed home field advantage. They are not the
fans they think they are. This is not the football

(02:01:52):
time we think it is.

Speaker 2 (02:01:55):
You know, look, I think that they knew and that
was the game that could cash in on. It was
exactly like when the forty nine ers were coming in
and the ticket prices got, you know, ramped up to astronomical.

Speaker 5 (02:02:10):
Yeah, that was that one was even worse as far
as a takeover went. But I don't think anybody believed
in this team. If they thought that we had a
legitimate chance, I think that place would have been full
on Sunday night. I think that to your earlier point, Mark,
I think the fans know exactly what's up with this team.

Speaker 3 (02:02:28):
Yeah, Louise, What do you got somebody there?

Speaker 9 (02:02:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (02:02:31):
My uh, the woman who cleans my home. Yeah, I
have double to come in. Yeah? What were you saying? Though?
I totally agree with everything you say about the timing
of cashing in, But you're either a fan or you're not.

Speaker 3 (02:02:45):
Did she help your phone? Mark? Oh my god? What
it's this is spooky? What if that wasn't his cleaning lady?
Oh no, what if it was like somebody that came
to ram it. She's been dead for Mark. Are you there?
You're okay?

Speaker 10 (02:02:59):
Yeah? I accidently hung up the phone. Yeah. I understand
that it was the time to cash in.

Speaker 3 (02:03:05):
But you're either a fan or you're not.

Speaker 10 (02:03:07):
You either support the team or you don't. There's no
exceptions to that. That doesn't happen at Anfield, Liverpool's home,
it doesn't happen in a lot of NFL stadiums. You
just don't sacrifice that. But the Steeler fans did, Like
I said, they should be embarrassed. And when the Colts
come in on Sunday and win by forty, the people
who sold those tickets that now show up for this
game will be getting exactly what they deserve.

Speaker 5 (02:03:28):
So do you think that coach Tomlin, who is the
least aggressive coach in the NFL when it comes to
going forward on fourth down, will now be forced to
being much more aggressive in those scenarios fourth and five,
you know, instead of taking a Boswell field goal, giving
your team a shot to get a first down.

Speaker 10 (02:03:48):
I don't think he will change one thing, even one
small thing, that one remote thing, not one tiny thing
about what he does, because this is a guy who
would rather be right than win, and he's going to
accommodate himself.

Speaker 3 (02:04:00):
About replacing the anthem with renegade, what about.

Speaker 10 (02:04:04):
Replacing renegade with fooling yourself? It's a sick rock.

Speaker 3 (02:04:11):
I don't know. I know there's always this.

Speaker 2 (02:04:13):
When the Steelers lose, the whole debate about renegade comes up,
and that it's just part of the in game production.
Now it's less about firing up the defense and more
about like people coming sweet Caroline during.

Speaker 3 (02:04:26):
This, it's more about the quiet don the Green Bay fans. Well,
there's that too.

Speaker 5 (02:04:31):
Hey, the Steelers have done that plenty of times in
other stadiums, you know. And Bruce arians talked about it
on McAfee show yesterday too. He said that that shocked
him seeing all of those Packers fans in attendance on
Sunday night.

Speaker 10 (02:04:43):
By the way, you mentioned Pat. You know what Aaron Rodgers'
biggest weapon has been this year in terms of getting.

Speaker 3 (02:04:49):
Himself on that show.

Speaker 10 (02:04:51):
Yeah, yeah, exactly. I know the points about Rogers, about
not his plane, not his conduct. I love the guy.
He's my favorite Steeler and like even though Aaron and
you know, if Pat's friended at the cost of a
million dollars to Aaron, I wish I had more friends
like that. Pat did was lay traps for him to
say something dumb.

Speaker 5 (02:05:10):
Well, that's you know, we talked about this. Aaron Rodgers
is the least of the Steelers worries. In fact, he
might be the best thing they have going for them
right now. And the concern that people had coming in
this year was that he was going to repeat past behavior,
And that's all you have to go on the fact
that he didn't do that this year, and then his
attitude seems to be completely different because I think he
trusted this This organization was much more sound than the

(02:05:33):
Jets organization, which was like an open disaster. But it
kind of feels like the Steelers are like one of
those families you think has it together, but then you
go over for dinner and you're like, these guys are
a mess.

Speaker 3 (02:05:42):
There's a dungeon in the basement.

Speaker 10 (02:05:45):
Yeah, why are these chains on the wall? You know?
Let me tell what could happen next year if Aaron
chooses to play again, it won't be here, It'll be
at Minnesota. Minnesota is going to recognize that they made
a mistake not bringing him in or franchising Sam Darnold
and gambling on McCarthy and Carson Ventz. They're still gonna
have a championship level team next year. They're gonna bring

(02:06:07):
Rogers and you watch because he will not come back here.
He will learn his lesson from having been here.

Speaker 3 (02:06:11):
I like that he went with the German pronunciation of vents. Yeah,
I'll go back to he came.

Speaker 10 (02:06:20):
I was at the North Hills High School football game
Friday because I'm a supporter. I'm into two games this year,
and and they played the alma mater and I said
in the I was in the press box because I'm lazy,
and I said, I said to know what to picker? Hey,
that's deutch Land uber ales.

Speaker 2 (02:06:36):
E.

Speaker 10 (02:06:36):
Good, what do you. Is that some kind of jokes
and I go, no, it's deeorcheluber Ales and they got
out there to their phones with with YouTube. My god,
it is Deutschland. Uber is well? I mean is yes? Yes? Absolutely?

Speaker 5 (02:06:51):
I mean is that to uh? Isn't God save the Queen?
Just God bless America?

Speaker 10 (02:06:58):
What the sex pistols on.

Speaker 3 (02:07:01):
Like the north Tills, North Tales, Uber count my country?
You that's it? Yes, yes, Mark, always a pleasure talking
with you, and go be nice.

Speaker 10 (02:07:18):
You gotta get a plug in Ben kindall the Penguin
Sensational Rookie on today at four o'clock.

Speaker 3 (02:07:24):
Wonderful, Yeah, wonderful.

Speaker 10 (02:07:25):
Yeah, they're they're you know what I mean. I think
it's almost unfortunate they're in a playoff spot because they
need a better pick, but they might make the playoffs
in a really bad Eastern Conference and and they're very exciting.
Those kids have just ignited the team. They've ignited the
old guys. It's it's a passing of the torch, even
if the old guys are still here. And it's pretty
entertaining so far.

Speaker 2 (02:07:45):
It's like when you get a puppy for your old dog.

Speaker 10 (02:07:49):
By the way, do you know, technically, sid, she gets
suspended ten games.

Speaker 2 (02:07:53):
Why from last night, I didn't see any of it.
I heard he got to take.

Speaker 10 (02:07:58):
The game was over, so he left the bench and
then there was a fight and he kind of, you know,
went over and grabbed somebody. Technically, that's leaving the bench
to participate in a fight. That's an automatic ten games.
But I just don't think it's gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (02:08:09):
Yeah, I hope not.

Speaker 10 (02:08:10):
But wouldn't it be like it would be so NHL
if they said, well, the roles and rules, we're just
spending the face of our game for ten games because
he broke this rule. And meanwhile in MLB o Tani
bet on Baseball.

Speaker 2 (02:08:20):
And he's out there in the World Series and he
pretends he can't speak English.

Speaker 10 (02:08:24):
Favorite But no, I'm not complaining. Bootball gets it.

Speaker 3 (02:08:27):
No, NFL does too.

Speaker 10 (02:08:30):
Yeah exactly, I mean so, but I don't think he'll
get suspended anyway, ben Kin, look for I gotta go by.

lot of peen for an HBO show.

Speaker 13 (02:09:17):
It's normal.

Speaker 3 (02:09:18):
There's no worse pen than hospital hospital, peen, hospital, the
worst kind of pain.

Speaker 8 (02:09:25):
I worked in a hospital for a rotation in psych

Speaker 8 (02:10:33):
About Bad Bunny getting the Super Bowl halftime show seem
to be in the minority. In fact, the choice is
so popular people are actually trying to learn Spanish so
they'll understand his lyrics. The language app Speak says, quote,
it's our biggest spike in US downloads, driven by a
cultural event, with many users writing understanding Bad Bunny as

(02:10:54):
the reason they are interested in learning Spanish.

Speaker 3 (02:10:57):
Here's what I'd say.

Speaker 5 (02:10:58):
If you're one of those people who are like trying
to sign a petition to get rid of Bad Bunny,
and you want me to sign it, you have to
come up with someone a little better than Lee Greenwood
for me to get on board with that.

Speaker 3 (02:11:09):
I don't know, but.

Speaker 5 (02:11:12):
Greenwood get me excited if I'm gonna care, because I
don't care about it at all period. And it is
funny to me that, you know, the NFL has such
a global focus that this is such a logical thing
for them.

Speaker 2 (02:11:27):
If they could land bad money, of course they would
do it. From a business standpoint, huge, But nobody has a.

Speaker 5 (02:11:34):
Problem with you know, the NFL goes to Dublin and
people aren't like, ah, this is an American sport. The
hell are we doing in Dublin. I know people were
pissed about the super Bowl possibly going over to London.
That's a little different. But there are aspects of the
NFL that have been aspiring to be global for many,
many years.

Speaker 3 (02:11:53):
This should be no surprise.

Speaker 6 (02:11:55):
Yeah, I had I had friends talking about this at
dinner the other night, and I said, you know, I'm
really a bad person to talk to about this because
I didn't watch the half times show when I was
at the Super Bowl. Yeah twice, right, that's how much
I don't care about the halftime show.

Speaker 2 (02:12:14):
I didn't watch the Stones or Springsteen.

Speaker 6 (02:12:19):
And those were great, Like those were bands that I
actually would have loved to have seen.

Speaker 5 (02:12:23):
And then it was a black eyed tea didn't in Dallas,
and I definitely didn't stick around for that.

Speaker 19 (02:12:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (02:12:30):
I mean every year it's it's always very upsetting to
a lot of people. Whoever gets named the halftime Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (02:12:39):
You know, it's like you have to sort of embrace
what has always made is different is pluralism, right, Like,
there's all kinds of different things out there, and not
everything is for you. And that's what makes us unique
and great is that you can hate a lot of
the choices that you're given.

Speaker 3 (02:12:54):
Don't like that not for me? Yeah, I love it
when something's not for me because I don't have to
deal with it. There you go.

Speaker 5 (02:13:02):
Yes, if it were like if Josh Hami was playing
the Super Bowl halftime, you'd be like, I have to
watch every single part of this. Now you can get up,
go to the bathroom, get a beer, do whatever you like.

Speaker 8 (02:13:11):
Yeah, you know, Like I saw all those dates with
Queens of the Stone Age and food Fighters and listen, guys,
I hate to break down the fourth wall for you.

Speaker 7 (02:13:17):
Food Fighters not for me. Queens of the Stone Age
definitely for me.

Speaker 8 (02:13:21):
And I looked at that and I went, mmmm, am
I gonna go and get on a plane to go
see this tour somewhere?

Speaker 3 (02:13:26):
I want to go see it.

Speaker 8 (02:13:27):
And I thought about it for a while and I
looked around and then I decided maybe not for me.

Speaker 3 (02:13:34):
And you know what I get to do now save
my money for something else. I bet that tour comes here.

Speaker 7 (02:13:39):
I don't know if it will.

Speaker 8 (02:13:41):
It's going to DC and it's also going to Ohio,
and I kind of looked at both of.

Speaker 3 (02:13:46):
Those and I'm like, oh, maybe maybe maybe, I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (02:13:49):
Well, you don't have to get on a plane for
either of those.

Speaker 3 (02:13:51):
No, but there were someone.

Speaker 8 (02:13:52):
Well, I have this like list on my computer of
places that I want to go and like that I
haven't gone yet. And I also have like kind of
a list of concert venues that I want to go
to that I haven't been to yet.

Speaker 3 (02:14:04):
The Gorge is the Gorge on there, Red Rocks.

Speaker 7 (02:14:06):
Orges on there, and Red Rocks is on there.

Speaker 8 (02:14:08):
But I'm also thinking that, like, no offense to Dave Grohl,
I'm like, it's a food fighter show, not a Queen's
of the Stone Age show. I should have gone to
the Catacomb's tour for the Queens of the Stone Age.
It just happened and I didn't do that, And that's
what that's the one I should have traveled for and
made happen.

Speaker 3 (02:14:26):
You're not gonna I blew that one.

Speaker 2 (02:14:27):
You're not going to put out a petition to try
and get food fighters off their own tour so that
you can get what you like out of it.

Speaker 8 (02:14:33):
Okay, I didn't realize that maybe I still had some
string strings to pull, but maybe I do.

Speaker 2 (02:14:38):
You're not powerless, No, I'm not powerless.

Speaker 8 (02:14:40):
But I think what I'm gonna do is I'm going
to pinpoint the venues I want to go to, and
then I'm going to see if like any of those
like one off tours happened to go to them, Like
I didn't see that DVOB fifty two's tour, Like that
would be great if something there happens. And I'm just
gonna like kind of plot around like the venues that
I want to go to, yeah, and then like plan
a flight and go go do that. So I have

(02:15:00):
to save my money for something, you know, I'll wait out.
I'll hold out, hold out for better.

Speaker 3 (02:15:05):
If not this, then something better.

Speaker 2 (02:15:08):
That bad Bunny halftime show is probably gonna like do
Kendrick Lamari in numbers.

Speaker 8 (02:15:12):
I think it's going to be insane. And Roger Goodell
has said that you know, he he understands that the
platform of the super Bowl halftime show. He's never had
a performer who didn't receive some kind of blowback or criticism.
They will not be changing the halftime show. So be
as loud as you want. That's not going to.

Speaker 6 (02:15:34):
Change unless he does something to get himself canceled, kind
of like the Kevin Hart wanting like being named the
Oscar host.

Speaker 3 (02:15:43):
And then some stuff came out and they.

Speaker 2 (02:15:45):
I said, if this kid who was gay, he would
disown them. Yeah, so they're like, well, bad news about
who you're supposed to be talking to here.

Speaker 3 (02:15:53):
Pretty soon a lot of people's gay kids.

Speaker 10 (02:15:55):
You know.

Speaker 5 (02:15:56):
It would be funny, though, is if Bad Bunny like
got out there at halftime and the only words he's
book in English word Drake's a pedophile and then just.

Speaker 3 (02:16:03):
In Spanish. He did say that, did he? I mean, yeah,
he did that line. It's kind of been vogue. I
mean Kendrick Kendrick did.

Speaker 21 (02:16:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:16:13):
No, I didn't know if Bad Bunny had waited on
the argument. That's what we're saying all halftime shows. I mean,
I kind of hope Joe Buck does it or whoever's
doing you know, at the halftime show. Let's see if
you call it Drake a pedophile, and then Troy Aikman's like, well,
we all know he's a pedophile, and then christ collins
Worth deserves some reason they have the PFF pedophile.

Speaker 3 (02:16:35):
Drake good, It's probably a b.

Speaker 8 (02:16:40):
It sounds like the NFL is lining up its pre
Super Bowl events and two days before the big game,
Sting is going to headline a Super Bowl Brandon concert
at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (02:16:55):
So the show is part of the super Bowl pre event.

Speaker 8 (02:16:59):
So it's gonna be like a weekend of unforgettable music
entertainment at one of San Francisco's most iconic venues. There's
not a lot of details available yet, but there's going
to be a lot of meet and greets with NFL
players and legends. But the Super Bowl kicks off at
Levi's Stadium in Santa Clair, California, on February the eighth,
So now Sting is also a part of it.

Speaker 3 (02:17:19):
So Sting bad, buddy, What more could you want? Let's
sting it so many more things.

Speaker 2 (02:17:26):
You know what I would do if I were the
Super I was the NFL, I would have a review
of all of the eighties rap songs from all of
the teams and have them all the people come back
and perform songs like the Super Bowl Shuffle and less Rabbat.

Speaker 3 (02:17:37):
We'll get a rabbit r scene. If your rabbit's right,
you can ram.

Speaker 25 (02:17:40):
It all night.

Speaker 3 (02:17:42):
No rabbit, I mean listen.

Speaker 8 (02:17:46):
So it's not like we're more sentient now in twenty
twenty five than they would have been then, Like nobody.

Speaker 7 (02:17:53):
Heard them say rammant and went guys.

Speaker 2 (02:17:56):
Nobody flag well, especially because there's a Zappa song you
can't play all on the radio from Shikh your booty
called broken Hearts are for a Holes And the whole
refrain is like yeah, yeah, and then it goes into
the part you can't say on the radio where you
gotta ram.

Speaker 3 (02:18:12):
Its where you can't Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:18:23):
People are asking Eric Dickerson where I don't stand where.

Speaker 3 (02:18:31):
And got arrested.

Speaker 25 (02:18:34):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:18:34):
Pasadena man was arrested today for ramming it at the bus.

Speaker 3 (02:18:37):
Stop where let's do one more.

Speaker 7 (02:18:42):
I want to get your take on this.

Speaker 8 (02:18:44):
East Side Brewing Company Craft Beer tap room in Reynoldsburg,
Ohio recently reinforced its policy of restricting children at the
venue after seven pm, stating that although children are welcome
earlier in the day, the space is designated for adults
later in the evening. The brewery explained that recurring issues

(02:19:05):
ranging from unsupervised children playing in the beer garden to
equipment damage and safety concerns ultimately led to the decision
to move to adults only post seven pm, and it
apparently sparked.

Speaker 3 (02:19:18):
Backlash where adults are mad about this.

Speaker 8 (02:19:22):
It had threats directed at the brewery, highlighting the emotional
intensity of the debate over family friendly versus adult oriented
hospitality spaces.

Speaker 3 (02:19:31):
What are your thoughts?

Speaker 7 (02:19:32):
Get them out of there?

Speaker 3 (02:19:33):
Yeah, get them out.

Speaker 2 (02:19:35):
There's something about breweries that unlike a bar. I don't
know that they courted this, but people just started bringing
their kids to breweries.

Speaker 3 (02:19:47):
Yeah, because I want to have fun.

Speaker 7 (02:19:50):
I know I had children and I made a decision,
but I want to have fun.

Speaker 5 (02:19:54):
Well, it makes you feel like if you're there to like,
if you're there to have one in the afternoon, like, hmmm,
isn't beerd delicious? And you know you're that's one kind
of enjoyment. But a lot of times people are there
because they're trying to turn on a buzz and be
an adult. They're trying to get away from the kids
at that hour. Yes, yeah, after seven o'clock.

Speaker 7 (02:20:15):
It's during the day. If it's like I'm shopping and.

Speaker 29 (02:20:20):
I have my kid and and with friends or whatever,
and then there's food and a brewery and my kid
is there and my kid can eat too, and we're chilling.

Speaker 3 (02:20:32):
There's dogs. Sounds great. After seven o'clock. Guess whose language
and volume is about to turn up? That's the mine. Yeah,
and I can't.

Speaker 2 (02:20:44):
I can't now, like police yourself, Yeah, I can't.

Speaker 3 (02:20:52):
We shouldn't have to. I mean, I don't know. I
like when people bring babies in.

Speaker 5 (02:20:57):
My concern is not that like they're going to to
like hear something and then like, you know, the first
words are going to be like, you know, f Tomlin
or something, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (02:21:06):
It's more that like I'm always worried about their ears.
I'm like, dude, it's bars are loud a.

Speaker 7 (02:21:12):
Good environment for them.

Speaker 8 (02:21:13):
I remember at some point, like I even knew, uh
some point in my like pregnancy too, I knew I
had to stop going to concerts. And it wasn't because
I didn't think I could handle going to a concert.
It was that I recognized my pregnancy was a burden
to everyone else going to the concert. Is that I

(02:21:35):
had to make them concerned with my well being by
being there.

Speaker 2 (02:21:40):
See what you're doing there is being a member of society.
We used to be a society. To be a society, yes,
but because that would be first of all, I'd be
nervous about people bumping into you because they're rocked at
a concert. You know, unless there was like a way
to do like a pregnant woman only section, there's not.
Ken Ba is the usher right here.

Speaker 3 (02:22:03):
You're putting those ladies at.

Speaker 2 (02:22:04):
Risk human submarines.

Speaker 3 (02:22:05):
Take off your shoes.

Speaker 6 (02:22:09):
I mean, people just aren't going to pay attention to
any of that. They bring their babies everywhere. You see
a baby everywhere you go.

Speaker 2 (02:22:16):
Would people matter what time of night it is, Three
Rivers Arts Fest, holding their baby in front of the
speakers of a band plan, I'm like, what are you doing?

Speaker 3 (02:22:25):
Get some headphones?

Speaker 5 (02:22:26):
Although I will say that people are way more hip
to that now because you see it everywhere, the the
little baby earphones that go on.

Speaker 2 (02:22:33):
You know, like, yeah, they are adorable, it's cute.

Speaker 8 (02:22:37):
I started with that with Edie, where I had the
big you know, cans, so that I could still like,
you know, take her to shows and stuff.

Speaker 3 (02:22:46):
I learned very quickly, Uh, she doesn't like them.

Speaker 2 (02:22:49):
It's interesting. Yeah, And so you know, there was this
discasion we are you pacifying now? Like yeah, that's what
it is.

Speaker 8 (02:22:54):
It's like at one point even in uh therapy, I
think it came up where, you know, early days, they're like.

Speaker 3 (02:23:04):
Listen, kids are going on your ride, You're not going
on their ride.

Speaker 7 (02:23:08):
And I'm like, all right, yeah, yeah, that's cool.

Speaker 3 (02:23:11):
That's not true. Just in case anybody was thinking about it.
Not true at all.

Speaker 8 (02:23:17):
A couple nights ago, my daughter and I were like
having one of the late night conversations because they always
like to hate you with like the deepest thought and
their most like deeply rooted anxiety that they've been hanging
on to at bedtime. It's like this has been going
on for like, you know a while. Now, like it's

(02:23:37):
been hours. I can't get her to go to sleep,
Like she's just fighting every impulse that she has to
go to sleep.

Speaker 3 (02:23:42):
It's like, now we're approaching eleven o'clock. Did you tried playing?
I did, and she was like, it's a pop You're
just reving me up.

Speaker 9 (02:23:50):
No.

Speaker 3 (02:23:51):
But it was like eleven PM and she was like,
can I talk to you about something about you? And
I'm like, yeah, yes, what do you want to talk about?

Speaker 10 (02:23:59):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (02:24:00):
But it's about you, okay?

Speaker 7 (02:24:02):
And I'm like, okay, what is it about me?

Speaker 8 (02:24:04):
And she's like, I feel that like you're different now,
and I went, how am I different?

Speaker 7 (02:24:10):
She's like, I think you're harder on me now, and
I said, okay, why do you think I'm harder on
you now?

Speaker 8 (02:24:16):
And then she tell me and I'm like, okay, well,
the reason why I'm different is because you're different now.

Speaker 3 (02:24:21):
My therapist is we haven't thought.

Speaker 10 (02:24:25):
You know.

Speaker 23 (02:24:25):
So all I'm.

Speaker 3 (02:24:27):
Saying best intentions.

Speaker 7 (02:24:30):
You do the best that you can.

Speaker 8 (02:24:32):
Yeah, but for the most part, it's an adult is
at a brewery and they don't want to be around children.
Do your part to be as a part of society
as well, and don't make them about your children.

Speaker 16 (02:24:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:24:48):
Well, bill I says that about kids on a plane
misbehaving or in a supermarket misbehaving. You have they at
least act like you're concerned about the other people's experience.

Speaker 6 (02:24:59):
Yeah, make a a public show of your annoyance with
your own child.

Speaker 5 (02:25:04):
Yes, so what are your debris Like, Oh, yeah, we
will be over here in the corner playing scrabble or whatever.

Speaker 3 (02:25:10):
They always at board games of breweries or something.

Speaker 2 (02:25:12):
Yeah, but that's part of it.

Speaker 10 (02:25:13):
Though.

Speaker 2 (02:25:14):
They make a lot of breweries. They make them feel
very they make them seem very neighborhood.

Speaker 6 (02:25:18):
There's their games and all that stuff, like they're they're
attracting families.

Speaker 5 (02:25:23):
I think we hit critical mass with breweries, though. I
think it's like the first year that the trend went
downward last year. Last year I think was yeah, but
just ever so slightly.

Speaker 10 (02:25:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (02:25:33):
But like a lot of those places like hell Town,
Southern Tier, Caliente or Doe Daddy or whatever, they all
have outdoor spaces with cornhole games and there's Connect four
and there's bands playing, and it's like they're trying to
get the whole family there.

Speaker 3 (02:25:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:25:52):
ACB's like that too. I love ACB And it's like,
you know, a great the last.

Speaker 3 (02:25:58):
Time I was there, you were there and there was
a bunch of kids there totally. I don't remember.

Speaker 8 (02:26:04):
That was after I was after a pick game, and
I don't remember like how late they would have stayed
or if they have any roles about like, hey, it's
like nine, I don't care what time you put your
kids to bed, but like, can they not be here?

Speaker 5 (02:26:21):
I gotta be honest with you, though, I grew up
like in a bar with my dad. I mean he
would just literally take us to at the bar and
then be like soap and they were not full of
people wearing Patagonia vests drinking.

Speaker 13 (02:26:36):
I p as.

Speaker 3 (02:26:39):
Like a bookie, a.

Speaker 2 (02:26:40):
Loan shark, a drug dealer, hooker, yeah, one hooker at
the bar for everybody a.

Speaker 3 (02:26:47):
Place of strength right now.

Speaker 8 (02:26:50):
But I'm in the position that if I'm at the
brewery and your little kids running a muck and they
come up to my table, I stop drinking and I'm
playing with your kid, you know what I mean, Like,
I go like hey, and I start talking to your kid,
and then it is my burden because that's the kind
of person I am. But right now I'm telling you,
in this position to anger, in this safe space, I

(02:27:10):
don't like it.

Speaker 2 (02:27:11):
I wonder what the reaction would be if somebody did
that in Pittsburgh. We're like, hey, no kids, after sappened.

Speaker 7 (02:27:16):
I don't know, let's find out.

Speaker 3 (02:27:17):
I wouldn't go well, I don't think it would go
well either. People are it's completely flipped.

Speaker 2 (02:27:23):
If you would have instituted that rule, you know, thirty
years ago, people be like, hell, yeah, why do we
even need to say that out loud? Of course not.
But now it's like the kids are leading the sleigh.

Speaker 6 (02:27:33):
I mean it would be a good marketing strategy because
it would be a news story.

Speaker 3 (02:27:37):
People would be talking about it. It would be a conversation.

Speaker 2 (02:27:40):
Wasn't there a restaurant in fifty one that did that?
It was like, no, kids, we're sick of your kids.
I think so it's like a diner.

Speaker 3 (02:27:47):
Yeah, dude, malls do it now? Did they really.

Speaker 6 (02:27:53):
Can't show up without an adult or something? Kenny would
did it? Kenny would had to.

Speaker 8 (02:27:57):
Do it right, Like at some point they're just kind
of like, yeah, you can't be unsupervised after eight o'clock
because you saw Mark.

Speaker 2 (02:28:04):
Well, I'm sorry, Mike pursuita join us when we come
back here, Steelers and the Colts this Sunday, all one
o'clock kickoff here on your radio.

Speaker 3 (02:28:12):
Home of the Steelers dv E.

Speaker 17 (02:28:15):
Tyson is safe for highway travel and ready to get
you from here to there.

Speaker 10 (02:28:20):
Thank you, my man's the goal.

Speaker 17 (02:28:22):
He's got a reloaded cut from the DVE Morning Show
Sports and a Workforce commercial free hour at three afternoons
with chat Tyson on DV E gather up.

Speaker 3 (02:28:34):
The season's best a sports.

Speaker 5 (02:28:38):
Mike pursuita with your Sports now on the DV Morning show,
your radio home of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Speaker 13 (02:28:43):
DVE Sports is Up, brought to you by Bridgeville clients.
On the way from sixteen to seven to what transpired
in the second half Sunday night against the Packers. A
couple of plays in particular served as catalysts in the
Steelers collapse. Mike Tomlin talked about those in detail yesterday.

Speaker 14 (02:29:02):
I thought a couple of third down conversions in the
third quarter was significant, not only in terms of keeping
us on the field and producing touchdown scoring drives, but I.

Speaker 9 (02:29:13):
Thought it just changed the texture of the day.

Speaker 14 (02:29:16):
They got sixty yards on one third down conversion, they
got thirty five on another. That's one hundred yards on
two plays. Field flipping plays, touchdown drive producing plays, and
I just didn't think we did a nice job recovering
from those. First and foremost, you don't want those plays
to happen, but half did they happened? I didn't think

(02:29:38):
we did a good enough job recovering from that and
finding our footing as a collective football group offense, defense
and special teams in an effort to make the necessary
plays over the course of the last fifteen minutes.

Speaker 9 (02:29:50):
To win the game.

Speaker 3 (02:29:52):
Yeah, spot on.

Speaker 13 (02:29:53):
I mean the game changed with those two heaves, and
the Steelers weren't able to buck up and deal with
it in any face. And you toss in losing to
Shaun Elliott in the fashion that they lost him to
a bad injury, and you got what you got. Both
of those plays, the fifty nine yard are to the
tight end craft and the what was the Watson player

(02:30:16):
thirty eight very avoidable, very preventable, but the Steelers just
didn't prevent him thirty three to want them.

Speaker 14 (02:30:24):
We certainly need to be better in third down, and
we've been, but it doesn't necessarily mean dramatic changes in
terms of schematics and things of that nature. If you
look at those two plays. On the sixty yard play,
the quarterback was hit as he let it go, and
so it's it's details that are usually the difference when

(02:30:45):
when it's a millisecond and on the other play, the
thirty five roughly thirty five yard play, he got outside
the pocket on us and extended, and we certainly got
to do a better job of keeping them constricted in
the pocket man and getting two guys at the catch
point down the grass. That's one thing that we didn't
do in either circumstance. We play a lot of man
free concepts. It usually gives us an opportunity to get

(02:31:06):
two guys at the at the ball down the grass.
We didn't in those instances, and it produced field flipping drive,
producing touchdown drive, producing plays that really kind of change
the texture of the ball game.

Speaker 3 (02:31:22):
Some possible good news.

Speaker 13 (02:31:23):
Tomlin characterized Isaac Sayamalu as questionable with that peck injury.

Speaker 2 (02:31:29):
Both that and the Elliott injury were welcome news in
terms of the severity. I thought that I thought you
were losing Elliott for sure for the year and Saya
Malo for the you know, better part of the year.

Speaker 13 (02:31:40):
Yeah, Elliot according to you, and Rappaport is going to
go on ir but that's you know, four weeks as
opposed to the rest of the weeks. And Kyle Dugger
is on the way here reportedly, also former Commander's safety
Derek Forrest, who has played in the NFL forty career games,
seventeen care starts, but none this year. He is reportedly

(02:32:02):
gonna sign with the Steelers practice squad as they continue
trying to find ways to plug the leaks in that secondary.

Speaker 3 (02:32:10):
Seems like they are popping up every week.

Speaker 2 (02:32:15):
It's gonna be interesting to see what they do defensively
this week, not just because of the new components, but
have they learned a lesson in terms of what they
trust their defense to do?

Speaker 3 (02:32:26):
How much?

Speaker 2 (02:32:26):
You know, he even talked about that two point conversion
where they only had ten people on the field, Yeah,
because Echos didn't realize that he was supposed to be
out there on that or something like that part of
the field goal to Yeah, but he excused that away,
and he's as well, that's what happens when you have
a lot of different people that you're using a lot

(02:32:47):
of different people defensively, and it's like, Yeah, that's the
problem with the defense as a whole, I think is
that there is so much turnover in the same series, Yeah,
that these guys can't get on the same page.

Speaker 9 (02:33:02):
You know.

Speaker 13 (02:33:02):
I'm I'm a big believer that that is part of
the problem, not part of the solution. But man, I
looked at the Colts yesterday when they played Tennessee. They
had eight defensive backs played between thirty two and eighty
three percent of the defensive snaps. Six defensive backs played
more than fifty percent. They run a lot of nickel

(02:33:25):
and a lot of dime, not a ton of bass.
They like to go with two linebackers and extra dbs,
and they seem to be making it work. So is
that coaching or what is that? Maybe it's players not
having the right gun.

Speaker 3 (02:33:39):
I don't know.

Speaker 13 (02:33:41):
Yeah, I mean, I don't think it's one specific thing,
but I mean there's there's you know, there's not one
thing that's wrong, like fixed this and it'll all fall
into place.

Speaker 3 (02:33:50):
I guess that's what I'm trying to suggest.

Speaker 2 (02:33:53):
Although I would think if they're running that a lot,
that you should be running warrant a lot.

Speaker 9 (02:34:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (02:34:01):
And you know, conversely with the Colts, it's a lot
easier to play defense when you're up fourteen because they're
the highest scoring team in the league and they just look,
at least against Tennessee, Man, they just look effortless doing
it all right, quick.

Speaker 3 (02:34:14):
Break and We'll be right back.

Speaker 15 (02:34:15):

I don't know, I kind of feel like it's spooky
movie season all the way till the snow comes down. Sure, yeah,
you know, the fall is just spooky.

Speaker 3 (02:35:28):
The veil is thing.

Speaker 5 (02:35:31):
The website rancor dot com put together the best screen
queens ranked by fans now scream queens, of course, being
horror movie actresses that people associate with terror. At number ten,

(02:35:54):
they had Jenna Ortega Wednesday. She's in the Screen franchise.
She's also an I guess I didn't realize she was
in that movie.

Speaker 3 (02:36:03):
Oh yeah she is. Yeah, she's in X. She's one
of the kids, right, yeah, like.

Speaker 2 (02:36:09):
Oh, she's part of that group. At number nine Sigourney Weaver,
Alien and Ghostbusters.

Speaker 3 (02:36:20):
Alright.

Speaker 5 (02:36:22):
They also include The Cabin in the Woods, which I
think I might have seen a long time ago, but
it's not like ringing a bell, Vamps.

Speaker 2 (02:36:31):
That sounds like a female vampire movie. And Raka, which
I don't know what that is.

Speaker 3 (02:36:35):
I don't remember her and Cabin in the Woods either.

Speaker 2 (02:36:37):
Unfortunately, number eight screen queen Sarah Paulson.

Speaker 3 (02:36:42):
Oh, my god, all the American horror story Oh yeah,
I never.

Speaker 2 (02:36:45):
Watched those, nor did I. Those are Ryan Murphy, right,
isn't it Rayment? Yeah, he's the camp Queen number seven.
And I would have never thought that this woman's career
was going in this direction after.

Speaker 3 (02:37:03):
She was in.

Speaker 2 (02:37:05):
Maybe Martin Scorsese's best movie ever, Departed Vera farminga.

Speaker 3 (02:37:09):
Yeah, she does saundering?

Speaker 5 (02:37:11):
Or is it the Conjuring franchise Orphan Annabelle comes Home,
the nun in Captive State.

Speaker 8 (02:37:18):
Wasn't she also in the remake of Psycho or like
the TV show that they did about Norman Bates?

Speaker 2 (02:37:28):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (02:37:28):
Was she like she played his mom young or something
like that, young and hot?

Speaker 3 (02:37:34):
She would mom when she was young and hot.

Speaker 5 (02:37:38):
I mean I always associated with only because I only
saw one of those conjuring movies.

Speaker 2 (02:37:42):
I only saw Annabelle. You know, she's in Lake Thank
you for Smoking? Now, thank you for smoking? What's the
one in the air, Up in the air?

Speaker 3 (02:37:50):
Thank You's favorite movie?

Speaker 2 (02:37:54):
Because he loves Andrew Kendrick. Yeah, Anna Kendrick and Traveling
number six, Sarah Michelle Geller Buffy, Buffy.

Speaker 3 (02:38:01):
The Vampire Slayer. I know what you did last Summer Yep, yep, Scream.

Speaker 2 (02:38:05):
Two, The Grudge, and they also include Scooby Doo.

Speaker 3 (02:38:10):
Which I don't know. It's a popular Halloween costume. I
guess number five.

Speaker 2 (02:38:14):
This is pretty far down for her. I think Linda
Blair the Exorcist, Exorcist to the Heretic Hell Night Terminator
and Scream.

Speaker 5 (02:38:24):
No, that's Linda Linda Gray. No, Linda Hamilton yep. At
number four, Bill, you'll be glad to know this one.
Heather Log and comp I'm sorry, who God bless you
heather Log and Comp or Camp, but it's I think
Madden got me on this German pronunciation of everything earlier.

Speaker 3 (02:38:47):
Elm Street, Okay, I don't recognize the name.

Speaker 2 (02:38:49):
Yeah, she's the girl from Nightmare on Elm Street. She's
also in Shocker, Hell, Razor, Judgment and Truth Dare number
Shocker or just Shocker?

Speaker 3 (02:38:56):
Just Shocker? That does Shocker.

Speaker 7 (02:38:58):
That's a different franchise.

Speaker 3 (02:39:00):
Hmmm this year there's more than one in the Stink.

Speaker 2 (02:39:07):
Number three Janet Lee, Oh yeah, well yeah, that makes
sense the original right original?

Speaker 5 (02:39:15):
She was not just in Psycho though, she was also
in the Fog. I've never seen the Fog, but I
heard it's like crazy.

Speaker 3 (02:39:22):
It's really scary when you can't see out your windshield.

Speaker 7 (02:39:28):
The birds.

Speaker 2 (02:39:31):
She in the Birds Viviana.

Speaker 8 (02:39:35):
No wait, that's another blonde though it's the one he terrorized.

Speaker 5 (02:39:40):
What he made her do because she wouldn't sleep with Hitchcock.
Hitchcock was like the original Weinstein.

Speaker 3 (02:39:46):
That's right, all right.

Speaker 5 (02:39:49):
Number two Nev Campbell Scream franchise, The Craft the Dark
and are you.

Speaker 4 (02:39:54):
Afraid of the Dark?

Speaker 7 (02:39:56):
Tippy Heron.

Speaker 3 (02:39:58):
That's it, Tippy the Scream for franchise. If you can
trap that Hendry. Do you know the Scream?

Speaker 2 (02:40:03):
I've only seen the first Scream. I never saw the
other ones.

Speaker 3 (02:40:06):
Oh really, And I think I saw a scary movie
more than I saw them again and Screams more and
Scream's great.

Speaker 8 (02:40:15):
I think Screams the classic because there's actually you can
do a lot of deep dives on Scream about like
who was the killer at what given time if you
really want to get insane about it.

Speaker 7 (02:40:26):
But also the Craft I think is really really good.

Speaker 2 (02:40:30):
Oh yeah, I've forgot about that movie.

Speaker 5 (02:40:32):
The number one scream queen according to ranker dot Com,
Jamie Lee Curtis absolutely definitely Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:40:38):
Where's Mia Goth daughter of Janet Lee.

Speaker 5 (02:40:41):
By the way, yeah, was Sissy Spasic on this list?
Sissy Spasic is not on that list. But I mean
other than Carrie, I don't. I don't know, but god,
she's so scary in that movie. What else is Jamie
Lee Curtis. She is in the Halloween franchise, the fog
Promna Terror Train in a movie called Scream Queen's.

Speaker 3 (02:41:02):
Okay, well it makes sense, then, I don't.

Speaker 5 (02:41:07):
I mean, other than old timey actors. I don't associate
a guy with a bunch of horror movies. That's not
the director, you know, or the guy yeah, like Vincent Price,
you know, like whatever the oh what is that guy's name?

Speaker 3 (02:41:25):

It's time for the Steelers Daily Report on DVE, brought
to you by your neighborhood for its store and Steelers
Pro shop. Get it direct from the team at shop
dot Steelers dot com. Here's Tom Opperman.

Speaker 18 (02:44:11):
The Steelers defense had another rough night Sunday against the
green Bay Packers, especially when it comes to the play
of their secondary. The defensive backfield allowed Jordan Love to
torch the Steelers to the tune of three hundred and
sixty yards and three touchdown passes as he might strode
a twenty eight point second half for green Bay's offense
that delivered them the thirty five to twenty five victory
in Pittsburgh. Whether it was tackling woes, lack of pressure
on the quarterback, or just a straight up inability to

(02:44:33):
cover all of the above was plaguing the secondary as
they couldn't come up with any answers for a second
straight week against its opponent's passing attack. The Steelers task
won't get any easier when it comes to stopping the
passing game, as the colt Spring the NFL's number five
passing offense to town this Sunday. And making things more
difficult for the Steelers is the knee injury to safety
to Shaun Elliott, but reinforcements are on the way. Steelers

(02:44:54):
traded for New England Patriots safety Kyle Dugger last night,
sending a sixth round pick to the Patriots for Dugger
and a seventh round Dugger has spent all six seasons
of his NFL career in New England, starting sixty nine
games and.

Speaker 2 (02:45:04):
Compiling nine interceptions in his time there.

Speaker 18 (02:45:07):
The Steelers hit the practice field for the first time
this week today as they begin to prep for the
Colts on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (02:45:12):
On Tom Opferman with the Steelers Report, Steelers fans, your
