Speaker 1 (00:20):
Live from the Don's Appliances Studios, where Pittsburgh shops for appliances.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
This is WDV Pittsburgh.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
First Responders rescue twenty seven passengers stuck on board the
mononga Hala incline in Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon. Sounds like
they had to bring like a fire ladder truck up.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
Oh, man, I incline to help get that, and you gotta.

Speaker 5 (00:43):
Climb down like your orphan Annie.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
Oh, it's making my hands sweat.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Come on, I just think I'd have been like, yup,
I'm gonna swing down off.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Swing turn off, turn off.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
The rails coming down.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Are Did you think they got a spaghetti? Yeah? Could
they get food to the carts.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
For four hours?

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Look, those people might have started eating each other. I didn't.

Speaker 6 (01:12):
Yeah, it's all of a sudden Burgers on a Sunday many.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Part of your ass about half hour, didn take a
personal fight. You first drone us up some Permannies or
start cannibal.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Wise Brendy Bellman and the DV Morning Show. Look, I
can see that happening, is all I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
First four hours, there's a very really funny kids in
the Hall sketch where they have a guy on trial
about that, and they set it up like it's the
movie Alive, and he talks about being on the plane
and how harrowing it was.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
And then the lawyer's just like you were on a
one hour delay on the tarmac. You ain't half the play.

Speaker 5 (01:55):
I was hungry when I got onto the plane.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
You don't understand what was like. Look, we're going to
be there.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Everybody in this room, though, prioritize this food.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
I do, you know, I think about healthy relationship with food.

Speaker 5 (02:07):
I think Abby would have gum and snacks.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
So yeah, I'd have I'd have things for us.

Speaker 5 (02:13):
I'd tie us over for at least an hour.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
I'd be prepared.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
She'd have some angry packets for us.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
You don't want to see me angry.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Abby gets angry.

Speaker 7 (02:20):
I do.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
I get angry too, though, like I, And it's I'm
very open about it, like I have to eat now,
like it. When I have to eat, that's it's got
to happen. Then, yeah, you know, And.

Speaker 6 (02:33):
Then I'm I've never announced it. I do, but I
guess that it does happen for me too.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
I will get very quiet when I'm hungry.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
If I'm traveling. Mm hmm, and like something goes awry,
we miss a meal. I'm like, no, no, no, no, no,
got to eat. No, I'm not travel days are the worst.
I'm not going to the Louver. No, I'm going to
that Arby's.

Speaker 5 (02:55):
I'm gonna love it on you if you don't get
some food right now.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Geenez Errator will be on a little bit later on
this morning Charlotte match as well, talking Steelers. I'm still
digesting and enjoying the Steelers win Sunday over the Colts.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
Even though it's incredible.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Many people have seemed to excuse it away.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Is just some sort of like, well, the Colts were
due to lose, even though that's what I was saying
last week. Yeah, the Colts were due to lose, and
you know, the Steelers got lucky, and you know, you
pointed out Bill they didn't finish a lot of the
you know, the drives, and Aaron Rodgers did as well.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
I saw you you posted about that yesterday.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
And man that that had a lot of people really upset.

Speaker 6 (03:39):
And I don't know why because I'm not saying like
I wasn't being overtly negative old guy yelling at clouds
like we won and I'm still upset. I'm saying, there's
been a couple of games this year where we've had
five or more turnovers and have won those games by
only seven points.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
And I would like.

Speaker 6 (04:00):
To see us take that next step, yeah, to just
put teams away, like if your defense is turning the
ball over like that. They scored on four of six
of those those turnovers, but outside of those turnovers, they
created no offense for themselves.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
I agree, And Aaron is pissed about that. Their offense
is upset about that. I'm not saying anything that they're
not pissed about.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Well, and we talked about yesterday. Their longest drives fifty
six yards, you know what I mean. It's not like
field all day. Yeah, they weren't throwing up eighty R drafts.
But I think the reason stuff like that hits people
in their fields is because you got you gotta give
some people a grace period on the win.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
It's very I don't even think you're being negative.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
I'm saying I usually experienced Steelers fans being negative right
after the win. Don't forget after two thousand and nine,
we win the Super Bowl. The first call on the
post game show on the Steelers audio network was I'll
tell you what. Next year, we got to shore up

(05:07):
that defense about I mean, not even a moment for
people to enjoy a Super Bowl win before. Someone was like,
you know, great win that, you know, super Bowl and everything,
but look, let's be honest.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
And then they get right to I am alarmed at
the play and Chuckie and Kobe you know, we gotta.

Speaker 6 (05:25):
Get better corners because we couldn't cover Larry Fitz in
a second half exactly.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
That was the excuse. Well, I don't know what Tomlin
was thinking. It's like he just won a Lombardi. So
you know, I'm used to Steeler fans crapping on a win,
but I think everybody was so upset after the consecutive
losses to the Bengals into Green Bay that people were
genuinely like, let me have this moment, let me have

(05:52):
this Colt swine sure at home, by the way, the
field's crap, garbage, and Warren slid a couple of times,
he fell a couple of times. I hate that field.

Speaker 6 (06:03):
But what I'm finding now, and maybe you guys agree
with this or don't, but it's there is a very
different version of Steeler fan like Steer Steeler Nation is
a spectrum, and the spectrum. The part of the spectrum
that I'm on is I'm a little cranky with how
they look. No matter what if they if they win

(06:27):
or a steel I still I'm looking for issues because
what I'm trying to do the whole time is I'm
stress testing against what a championship team looks like.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
In my own mind.

Speaker 6 (06:40):
If they don't meet the expectation that I think that
they should be playing at. If they're not playing discipline ball,
if if they're not tackling well, if they're not capitalizing
on turnovers, if they're not turning the ball over, you know,
if whatever it is, I'm looking at that and I'm thinking,
how will that do against the best teams in the league.

(07:00):
The game that's in front of us is almost irrelevant.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
So we all catch crap from people. I have to
tell you.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
I was in bed and like I'm like, all right,
I'm gonna check just the news a couple more times
here or whatever, and I'm scrolling and it's on the
for you.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
And because Bill's in my algorithm.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Somebody's response to shut up, and I didn't see That's
what I saw that post, and the guy said, shut
your dwee bass.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
There no no come on, so.

Speaker 5 (07:31):
Shut up, shut a dwee bass. Black woman. That was
a black woman.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
I didn't see that. I just shut your dewey mess up.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
And I laughed so hard because sometimes people are so
mean to you in wait, like you know, I get
that all the time.

Speaker 5 (07:49):
Oh yeah, I mean, but let think.

Speaker 6 (07:50):
Twitter in particular, it's just so disconnected from the real world.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Yeah, that makes it right here, shut your dowe mess up.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
Like you're not even saying anything. I didn't even say anything.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
That's the funniest part me laugh.

Speaker 6 (08:10):
It's like they're saying, why can't you just be happy
about the win. There's no part of the thing that
I said that I said I wasn't happy.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Well here, this is like an interesting Twitter conversation because
what you were doing there is making one statement that
is parallel to many other statements that sum up the game.
It was not your entire summation of the game. It

(08:39):
was one factor, hey, something to consider.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
That's it.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
And everybody takes it as you're like my take on
this game right bad? And you like, I just said
such a such a dewe bass up, deep ass up
made me laugh so hard.

Speaker 5 (08:59):
Oh my god, just to do your best, I mean, minor.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
That's actually delightful compared to some of the stuff I actually,
if I ever dare go on Facebook, especially my god,
people are no. It's just there's knives out over there.

Speaker 6 (09:13):
It's bad, but it's it has nothing to do with anything.
It's just it's like you say, when everybody's chasing a
ball on a soccer field, it's just a it's little kids,
a traveling beehive and and it and it gets all
mixed up. But like I'm I'm actually really positive about

(09:34):
the Steelers if that defense keeps playing like that.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Again, I'm using the close the four pit tunnel in
traffic got better analogy.

Speaker 5 (09:42):
Well let's see it for two games in a row.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Yeah, Well, like they know they got Justin Herbert this Sunday,
a Sunday night game eight twenty in Los Angeles. No,
we used to do a character on the morning show
that was the anti Steeler. He was like positive about
everything and he annoyed the hell out of everyone.

Speaker 8 (10:00):
And you know, it's just like, oh, no, everything's gonna
be great. We have the best team in a while.
Tell They're like, we just got our ass kick, you know,
Coach Cavil, he's not gonna let have it again.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Because I knew somebody who was like that, and we'd
be at the tailgates, like, how.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Can this guy always be so positive about the team.
He just loved the Steelers so much. He could never
see anything bad in them, you know. And I don't
think there's any Pirates fans like that anymore.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
I was thinking about it.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
I think the only kind of Pirate fan is not
a hopeful Pirate fan, Like, they don't the order. Their
hope is so much different than a championship. Their hope
is for respectability. Yeah, they're like, god, I hope this
year it's not embarrassing, And that's just like being in
an abusive relationship down fan.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
Yeah, the cup is empty, so it's easy to fill.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
And Penguins fans got pretty bummed o last night with
that third period. I don't know if you saw what
happened in Toronto, but that's brutal. I turned it on
at the start of the third period. That's when I
started watching. I'm like, sounds like the boys are having
a good game. Oh my crap, let me turn on
a game. Wham why and why and why am wham?

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Yeah? Game over? They got absolutely trounced. What did it?
End of four or five? What was it for?

Speaker 1 (11:16):
Okay, just a bad fourth period for Tristan Jari and company.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Michael. Lot more than that coming up. Abby's got your news.
Now it's up.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
New is this hour brought to you by your neighborhood
Ford Store. Mostly Sunday today and high of sixty two.
So even though you may have gotten an extra hour
of sleep after falling back on Saturday night, you might
still be feeling groggy. Experts say that any change in
sleep patterns can be disruptive and you may still feel
out of it, and some are more affected by the clock.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
Change than others.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
It still may take you up to apparently a week
to recover from this time change from the end of
daylight saving time. And there's a few tips that can
help your body adjust a little more easily. Here one
is sticking to your daily schedule, so don't change anything.
So you're just gonna look at the clock and you're
going to do things exactly at the time that you

(12:07):
would still do them.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
This one, and.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
It's a phrase that has kind of become innocuous at
this point is still go touch some grass.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
So I told you.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Guys, I thought that was dirty the first time I
heard it. I didn't understand it.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
We're touch some grass, Go.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Touch some grass. I'm like, what the hell does that means?

Speaker 4 (12:25):
I don't want to touch your grass?

Speaker 2 (12:26):
I thought it meant pubes. I don't know why put
your finger on my grass? Yeah, that's why. I don't know.
It's weird.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
It's not. It's actually just go touch some grass, connect
with them. Yeah, no, that's well, I don't know why
it could be. Try it sometime.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
Are you being forward?

Speaker 4 (12:45):
Try to try to whisper it sometime and see if
it works.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Telling you to get off the computer.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
Oh right, Uh, it's mostly about getting outside, soaking up
some sunlight, or even just sitting by a window maybe
while you're working during the day, just catch some rays
and try to reset your body's internal clock.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
This early yesterday, it was a beautiful day, was it.
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Some people told me it was a beautiful day yesterday.
Who knows outside, not not until it was already dark.
I'm like some of them. I had a four I
haven't had a massage in like over a year, and
I had one yesterday at like four o'clock, so it
was like, get out of that and it's just totally dark.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
You not go to bed right after a massage?

Speaker 6 (13:26):
Well, I used to get a on a regular massage.
I mean, be honest about what it is here.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
It's a it's a happy ending. No, it's a So how.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
Did you not go to bed right after the massage?

Speaker 2 (13:38):
I asked the right question.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
She can't go on nineteen No, it's a uh, it's
almost like rolfing.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
I turned Bill onto this sous.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
She's the best, and she used to do a lot
of steelers and stuff, but she is not there for
you to have, Like I want to want to smell
some aroma therapy.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
I mean she she'll do that if that's what you want.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
You're gonna smell her knee, yeah, back of your neck,
like it's about getting everything untangled. But I will say, dude,
after having those surgeries this year, it's so different, Like
I have none of the issues I.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
Used to have.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Really. Yeah, it's just because all that stuff.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
Was like getting seized up to protect my like hips
so my quads and back would be tight, and now
it's just like now it's pretty easy I used to
get when I went there.

Speaker 5 (14:16):
But is she still able to you? Or if I
want to be roffed?

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (14:21):
Did you want to be rolf did yesterday?

Speaker 9 (14:22):
This is a touch grass thing is a kind of
like intense super deep yes, where you come out of
it and you're like.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Oh now, my antsome massage therapist.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
I go there for pain. I don't go there so
we can like smell Labner.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Yes, I book her after I have a show, but
normally I jack up my.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
Neck right so you know when they put like those
rocks on your back, you know sometimes in the rock
massages and stuff.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
She throws them at you. That's how totally.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
Yeah, No, I always kind of approached it that way.
There was a long long time ago before my aunt
was like officially you know, kind of threw all of
her classes and certified and had her own spot and
everything like that. There was somebody that I used to
go to that was like a chiropractor and massage therapy.
So they'd do chiropractic first and then they'd massage you
and it was painful.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
I used to do that where I would go from
the massage to the chiropractor because my muscles would be
like loose, and I felt like they could really get
a good crack on your back, you know what I mean,
double it up?

Speaker 4 (15:33):
Well, yeah, because then it holes.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Yeah right, well that's it theoretically you'd think so.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
But yeah, I mean that's what they said at least,
and I'm like, I'm whatever, mess me up?

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Yeah right, go anyways, touch grass.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
Touch grass.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
Continuing with this, it says avoid taking naps. It's very
tempting to try to use that to get.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
Back on track.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Here, twenty seven minutes on your phone.

Speaker 5 (15:55):
Twenty seven minutes, twenty seven that's what.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
All the studies say.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Sleep under twenty seven minutes, you don't get into full
rem It like powers you up for the rest of
the day without making you do the whole wake up
cycle again.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
And that's what screws you up to sleep later in
the day. Now, that's not to say I.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Haven't done full on like ninety minute like head in
between couch cushions.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Now is the seven minutes for the fretting and the
anxiety before you get to the tour.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
I usually put it at thirty, figuring it takes me
three to fall asleep at least, and then I get
a full twenty seven.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Yeah, wow, I cushion for anxiety, because once I decide
I'm going to sleep, I have to panic about not
sleeping fast enough.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
I think I'm too I think as I've gotten older,
the stress and anxiety part before you fall asleep. I'm
just too tired for it. Oh yeah, I still have it,
but I'm just like I have to sleep right through it.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
Yeah, well that's something to look forward.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
I'm too tired to be stressed out.

Speaker 7 (16:53):
Well.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
The Sleep Foundation recommends having a steady sleep schedule for
your regular sleep, having a regular bedtime routine, avoiding cappinge
in the afternoon and evenings, not doom scrolling, and using
a sleep mask and ear plugs.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
I do have a sleep mask, but I don't need
it on school nights. I only use it on the
weekend because the light appearing in the morning. But we
get when it's you know. But I asked crack dark out.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
There, you know?

Speaker 3 (17:22):
Yeah, Sam, I can't be too comfortable on the school
nights or also, I won't get up.

Speaker 5 (17:26):
And ear plugs.

Speaker 6 (17:27):
I feel like is irresponsible if you're a parent, you
know what I mean. Yeah, I don't want the kids
to be screaming for help, and I just can't hear
them because I'm trying to get eight solid hours.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
Help.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
It's all I'm late for school mostly Sunday today.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
I have sixty two Michael, your full sports report coming
up here in just a little bit. The Steelers heading
out to Well, I almost I always want to say,
San Diego.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
You know it's hard to break man.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
Los Angeles Chargers, the team that has no fans.

Speaker 5 (18:15):
Somehow, I mean, they're good. They are good.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
It's give me a tough one for the Steelers in
eight twenty kickoff here.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
That means four point thirty.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
The pregame starts on the flagship station DVE with Tom
Offerman and Matt Williamson. Pursuit of Labs and Jerry Dulac

Speaker 11 (19:24):
The Penguins were well on their way to continuing to
write what has been an unlikely story so far in
the young hockey season, leading the Toronto Maple Leafs three
to nothing after two periods, two more goals for eighteen
year old rookie Ben Kindall his fourth and fifth of
the season, Eric Carlson's first of the year, but there

(19:45):
were still twenty minutes to play. Unfortunately, and in period
number three, disaster struck was that trying.

Speaker 12 (19:52):
To muscle it through. Riley sends it wide to the net,
goes over to the far corner. Robertson gets it in
front of Pickering, fired a shot say by John a
second attempt they scored. Bobby mcmahn with the loose change
in run in Toronto has scored four goals and a
four to three lead over the Penguins with six seventeen
to go.

Speaker 11 (20:12):
Now four goals in ten minutes and twelve seconds. Penguins
have been great defensively most of this year. It had
been great in third periods most of this year. Not
last night, no one that got away. But I hope
they don't miss the playoffs by one point.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
I will say that the response, at least in social
media was surprising to me. How many people are so
invested in this Penguins team so early in a year
that was supposed to just be a you know, everything's
gonna suck this year and it's rebuilding. But people's expectations
for this team have changed drastically in the first three weeks.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Yeah, that might be dangerous. It's it's still pretty early.

Speaker 7 (20:55):
I know.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
But do you agree with me though that, like totally.

Speaker 11 (20:58):
Oh yeahs of the expectation absolutely.

Speaker 5 (21:00):
I think that's performance based.

Speaker 6 (21:02):
I mean, they came out looking so good, playing so structured,
and then everybody's like, well wait a minute, yeah.

Speaker 11 (21:07):
You've got a couple of young guys that look really intriguing.
You got a new coach, it's kind of a reset, right,
But boy, last night sure looked familiar in terms of
how they've played the last several seasons. Just bad, defensively
bad and third periods and bad winning. Brian Russ had
an assist last night. He was minus three at Getting

(21:29):
Malkin had an assist. He was minus two. Sydney Cross
we had an assist. He was minus too. Philip Hollander
didn't have anything and he was minus two. Penn's will
be back home on Thursday nights take on the Washington Capitals.
This is the first time they've lost consecutive games in
regulation since October eleventh and fourteenth. So if it's a

(21:52):
one off, sobit happens in the NHL all the time, But.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
Be interesting to see how they respond.

Speaker 6 (21:58):
I mean, it's not an excuse, Mike, I mean, Carlson
said after the game. This is like the fatigue of
a long road trip. They had a lapse and hopefully
they'll learn from it.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
Yeah, that was.

Speaker 11 (22:10):
They had played at Philly, at Minnesota, and at Winnipeg
prior to at Toronto last night, and Toronto's a pretty
good regular season team. Just don't want to let this
kind of stuff snowball nippit, nippit in the bus Defensi
Cats Thursday night at the Rink, Arizona Pat Dallas twenty
seven seventeen on Monday Night Football last night, Cardinals is

(22:33):
three and five. Cowboys fall to three five and one
Cardinals the best I said last week, they're the best
two and five team I've ever seen it. Their best
three and five team going. Uh them, it's the year
of the veteran drop back pass or that knows what
he's doing, yep. And he's just activating the tight end

(22:54):
and he's activating their offense and.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
Marvin Harrison Junior. They look good.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Uh.

Speaker 11 (22:58):
George Pickens had six catches on nine targets for seventy
nine yards for the Cowboys. He also got a penalty
after one of his catches for waving the ball because
you know, George has to do something to shine a
light on George.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
I still think that that stuff's entertaining and they should
let him do it. But that's just me. Well, I
think they're worried that there'd be massive fights eventually.

Speaker 5 (23:22):
Will oh, there will be.

Speaker 6 (23:24):
They keep losing like they're going to see the George
Pickens we know in love.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
Yeah, but I think he's referring to the people beating
up George Pickens when he puts the ball in there, anybody.

Speaker 11 (23:33):
I mean, the taunting is going to lead to brawling,
no question. At least that's the theory, and I think
good theory. Steelers released quarterback bean Beanie Bishop from the
practice squad yesterday, Jeremy Fowl reporting that Marquez Valdez Scantling
is on his way here excellent. Valdez Scantling said to

(23:55):
finally join the Steelers practice squad that has been anticipated.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
For about a week now. Can't hurt.

Speaker 11 (24:00):
He's veteran down the field guy who has a history
with Aaron Rodgers, and maybe they need him, maybe they don't.
Maybe they do something more significant wide receiver by four
o'clock today, Maybe they do something as safety.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
Thats what I'm saying is I don't I'm not worried
about this or anything.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
I don't think it's like good or bad necessarily yet,
just noting that this is the first time Aaron Rodgers
did the thing that he did with the Jets where
he's like, go get my friend. Yeah, it's just how
it starts. Just just just pointing it out. I'm not
I'm just saying, what's I like about it?

Speaker 5 (24:39):
They have a gateway move.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
Maybe maybe he has a history with Roger drol Wizard
might be here next I don't know.

Speaker 11 (24:45):
And if he ever gets in a real game with
the active roster, they can put him out wide and
the other team's not going to say, oh, we got
to double cover that guy's right.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
Yeah, yeah, you don't worry about him. And then maybe
they'll get some one on ones down.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
The field, yeah, and can drop some some beautiful throws
from Aaron.

Speaker 6 (25:04):
So you don't think that they're they're going to go
out and get any of the big name receivers that
are out there, the Jacobi Meyers, the the Wattles of
the world.

Speaker 11 (25:12):
I don't think they're gonna do anything that risks what
they think is enough draft capital to trade up for
a quarterback next year. Now, maybe you get one of
those guys without doing that.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (25:27):
Did that change.

Speaker 6 (25:28):
Did that strategy change at all with the news that
maybe Aaron's coming back next year.

Speaker 11 (25:34):
I wouldn't think that it would. I haven't talked to
anybody about that, but that would actually be the ideal scenario.
I could draft somebody and have them say four.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
But two things have happened since then, one of them
being the Star Blue Chipper. Quarterbacks coming out of the
college ranks haven't been so great.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
No, well, there's been some great ones.

Speaker 11 (26:00):
They're just different than everybody said they were. The Steeler, Yes,
the kid from Indiana standing. The kid, to me, looks outstanding.
I don't care about arch Manning, but it doesn't that
it is hurt. But we also lost some draft stock. Well,
the Cup, the compensatory stuff is in flux because of

(26:23):
Nag you're not playing and Russell Wilson not playing. It's
gonna change right from what it was originally anticipated.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
Russell Wilson was on cameo.

Speaker 5 (26:30):
Now, no, I didn't.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
What the hell is he doing on cameo? I don't know.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
It doesn't make any sense, just being mister m I
figured he's just it's the only way you can get
people to talk with him for.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
A year, like, Hey, it's okay, don't worry about your dog.

Speaker 5 (26:46):
He's gonna be great.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
Grandma died, Grandmama, Yeah, unlimited.

Speaker 11 (26:54):
Did Yeah, funeral here more to the here and now
steels good, ready to go to LA to face the Chargers,
and they won't have to worry about left tackle Joe
Alt season ending surgery for a high ankle sprains the Stargers.

(27:14):
The Chargers, excuse me, starting right tackle Rashaan Slater is
also already gone because of a season ending injury, and
the guy who was replacing Slater, Bobby Hart, also known
in NFL circles as the human Turnstile, had to leave
the Chargers game against the Titans in the first quarter.

(27:36):
So uh yeah, whiplash windburn. They're gonna be down to
maybe their fourth and fifth offensive tackles against the team
that has suddenly found its pass rush mojo again and
maybe might be playing in a home road game.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
So if I usually fills up with terrible towels.

Speaker 11 (27:58):
They can they make the Chargers go to this silent
count at home with their fourth and fifth offensive tackles.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
Look, you know, the downline and getting some push was big,
and Cano Benton had a big game, and Cam and
Derek Harmon, and if they can do that again with
the rush that they're getting on the edges right now
out of all three of those guys and even Jack Sawyer. Well,
I mean Jack Sawyer ended up with a pick in
that game, which was you know, caused by Peyton Wilson.
You know, they're getting great play from their front seven,

(28:25):
or they got great play I should say against a
good team, Yes, good offensive Well they can do that
against the beleaguer team. Now, I just want to remind
you the last time we played a terrible offensive line,
didn't go didn't go so well. In fact, we made
them look like they were the Hogs from the eighty
three Redskins.

Speaker 11 (28:44):
Instead they were the Bengals who stink. Yes, yeah, all
that has been hurd a couple of times this year.
Chargers are four and oh when he starts and plays
an entire game, they're two and three. When he either
leaves early or doesn't play at all. That is a
well he's not gonna play at all, but that is
a huge developing story for the Chargers. Ravens added an

(29:07):
edge rusher in advanced to the trade deadline.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
Time actually being at the game. Draymont Jones. I can't
watch this from Tennessee.

Speaker 11 (29:17):
Six and eighty one pounds former third round pick out
in Denver, Baltimore gives up a conditional fifth round pick
Draymont Jones has four and a half sacks this year,
including a sack for the Titans in four consecutive games.
He's got thirty five in his career. Career high was
six and a half with Denver in twenty twenty two.
Baltimore has eleven sacks this season, second fewest, tied for

(29:41):
the second fewest in the NFL, and Baseball announcing it's
awards finalist yesterday. Paul Skeen's one of three finalists for
the National League Cy Young Award. The others are Christopher
Sanchez of the Phillies and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, the admiral from
the Dodgers. I think they do the voting on this
before the playoffs for Skiing's sake.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
I hope they do right.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Best World Series pitching performance ever, Jack Morris, y'all, Momoto
had two complete games.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Yeah, I know what he did.

Speaker 11 (30:15):
Came back and played in Game seven. Steve there's there's
a lot of great pitching performance. I mean, back in
the day, guys used to pitch three games, and I
mean Steve Blast pitched three games. He won two complete games,
and yeah, Bob Gibson did it. Mickey, Lolitch did it
used to be a regular thing? Your your number one

(30:36):
guy pitched three games?

Speaker 2 (30:37):
It was. It was phenomenal and coming out of the
pen was phenomenal.

Speaker 5 (30:41):
Yeah, best ever, certainly in the modern era.

Speaker 6 (30:44):
Like a lot of this stuff I'm just thinking of
in our lifetime or in live ball era.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Yeah, na as a Bumgarner twenty fourteen.

Speaker 11 (30:53):
Blast had good point. Jacob look up blasts seventy one stats.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
We two complete gamesridiculous.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
He didn't pitch three games in that series, didn't he?
I don't believe. So I'm pretty sure he just had
two complete wins. We can find out. We have computers.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
Abby's got just coming up at the top.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
Breaking news this morning. Former Vice President Dick Cheney has
passed away at the age of eighty four.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
I gotta be honest, I thought he had passed. I
don't know why, Like, and I was like, oh my god,
I forgot. He used to still around. Yeah, that guy
defied death longer than name.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
But didn't have like eight heart surgeries. Yeah, while he
was in office, he had. He had multiple d He
hung on for a long time.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
The Christian Bale portrayal of Dick Cheney in that movie.

Speaker 4 (31:41):
Wow, that was the first thing that I thought of.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
I know, there's a lot of things to think of
with Dick Cheney, but that was one of the first
things that came to mind.

Speaker 4 (31:48):
Because I'm apparently a lizard person.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
I don't know, well, I mean he is.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
He was one of the rare people that when he
left office in this day and age, he disappeared completely.
He just went to Jackson Hole and like, you know,
lived out in the woods and just you know, worked
from there, you know, and didn't go on Fox and
you know, any other like Meet the Press or anything
like that.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
So he just never saw him.

Speaker 5 (32:15):
Right, and he could hunt freely.

Speaker 11 (32:18):
Two complete games for Blass Right eighteen in two runs
allowed one.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
I'm usable.

Speaker 13 (32:28):
Shoot.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
We forgot to call mister Blast last week. I really.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
He and I talked and he wanted to come on
because I wished him happy anniversary on the anniversary of
Game seven, and he said, maybe we can talk World Series.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
You know what. Yeah, I'm gonna. I'm gonna text them now.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
I'm trying to get a box young and World Series
and yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna get.

Speaker 14 (32:50):

Speaker 1 (34:20):
Brady Bauman along with Phil Crawford, Abbey Chrisner, Mike Persuda,
Checkobreack to our producer Miss Tackles. Segment we do where
we just talk about the stories that we didn't get
to after the Steelers went around the NFL.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
How about this one?

Speaker 1 (34:35):
A brand new NFL record for longest field goal.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
Sixty eight yards away.

Speaker 12 (34:41):
It's up there, it's out there, and it's God, it's
gone for sixty.

Speaker 1 (34:46):
Eight Cam Little we saw him do in the preseason
sixty eight yards.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
The new NFL record.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
It seemed destined to happen this year, and so he
beats out Justin Tucker, who's used to being well never mind,
So sixty eight is the new record.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
And guess what he gets back in his locker.

Speaker 5 (35:08):
After that game.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
Guess what was waiting for him the NFL.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
The NFL has he made him aware that he needs
to take a drug test.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
He's like, are you kidding me? Right after that. I
don't think.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
I think there's something going on with the fact that
these kickers are obviously allowed to have the k ball
before the game now and they don't have to kick
those really plastic key balls. They can scratch him up
and they used to, I'm telling you, yeah, they used
to just beat the hell out of him back and.

Speaker 5 (35:37):
The choke him a little bit.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
It's kind of yeah, give him some Marv Albert treatment
and then wear them in and the proof is in
all of these bombs. Somebody tried a seventy yarder, and
I think what the Cowboys kicker try last week?

Speaker 11 (35:51):
He tried six sixty eight right down the first half.
He missed it, but he had the distance. Yeah, he
was wide left right.

Speaker 6 (35:57):
He had like a sixty four yarder, maybe even this year,
but definitely last year.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
These guys are crazy. Guys are hitting bombs. In other news,
the Jets, they had a bye week last week. They're
getting ready to play the Browns this weekend. But Aaron
Glenn is constantly under fire as the head coach of
the Jets because the way he handles the team with
the media, and somebody was like, hey, maybe do you
think it would be a good idea to support one
quarterback instead of like never talking about who's going to

(36:24):
start this week and leaving it up in the air.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
I want to go back to the quarterback thing again.

Speaker 7 (36:28):
So obviously you want to keep it secret for as
long as possible for whatever you know, competitive reasons. But
I'm wondering, wouldn't doesn't it help the quarterback's confidence when
the coach comes out and says, you're my guy.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
It helped the quarterback confidence when the player and the
coach talk and they.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
Know who the guy is.

Speaker 4 (36:46):
Not that I'm telling it to you, guys, that has
nothing to do with the player's confidence.

Speaker 15 (36:50):
So basically, are you kind of saying that you know
whomever is going to start knows his status as he
practices throughout the week this.

Speaker 2 (36:59):
Week, and that'd be bring me in the player. But
any okay doing it well, I'm just kind of curious.

Speaker 13 (37:12):
The same question, and I can give you the same answer.

Speaker 15 (37:15):
I am just curious, though, a g what is the
what what is the competitive advantage or disadvantage for a
team not knowing which of these two guys is playing?

Speaker 2 (37:24):
My own reasons.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
Because just because I said so, now you're talking about
Justin Fields or Torot Taylor, right, I mean it's not.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
It's not It's not Josh Jellen or Pat Yeah.

Speaker 6 (37:39):
Yeah, it's like I said in my pick six last week,
they won't know until kickoff if the Jets are gonna
suck or blow. Yeah, right, it's it's it's ridiculous. I
think he doesn't know.

Speaker 1 (37:52):
I think that's what they're trying to call him on there.
You know, Oh boy, I had hot on the record,
He's had Yes, No, he's not handling the New York media.
The New York media is a different beast, as you know,
and if you handle it the way he is, you
are making it way harder on yourself than you need to.
He already had an uphill battle going to the Jets.

(38:13):
I wanted him to turn it around. I thought it
was going to be a fun story. Age as they
like to call him, which that's some balls on that guy.
I'd call him coach, you know. Just while he said
he's well, maybe he's just getting ahead of the story,
you know, like yeah, he g it just feels a
little too friendly coach and speaking to Aaron, I.

Speaker 2 (38:33):
Think that too.

Speaker 6 (38:33):
He's been getting bad press since how he dealt with
Rogers like that. That interaction didn't age well. You know,
if people were fed up with how Rogers.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
I never thought of it. That stunned me.

Speaker 11 (38:46):
You reminded me of that, because if Rogers was forthcoming,
and should we assume he was when he said Aaron
Glenn told him, I don't want the team looking around
when I talk to the team, I don't want them
looking back at you. That's how what little confidence he
had that he would be able to grab these guys
attention and get them to pay attention.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
There, well, I get I think that was a harbinger
of what was to come in terms of a leadership
style that is ineffective in the NFL. Speaking of that,
Dan Quinn of the Commanders being criticized for leaving Jayden
Daniels in garbage time against the Seahawks the other night.
They were down thirty eight to seven in the fourth quarter,
seven minutes left of the game. He's still had him

(39:26):
in and he suffered a brutal injury. People are like,
why didn't you have Marcus Mariota in?

Speaker 2 (39:30):
Then?

Speaker 1 (39:31):
Coach Quinn or DQ as I like to call him,
he said, yeah, that was dumb.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Yeah, we can get rolling.

Speaker 14 (39:40):
I know many of you have been asking about the
thought process of Jaden being in the game in that situation.
I get that. I've been thinking about honestly NonStop too.
And you know, for me, the answers, man, I missed it.
I would you know, up fill you on my thought
process at started the fourth core, I guess it was
probably like twelve hours half minutes left in the game,

(40:01):
and that was gonna be the last drive for a
couple of guys Jayden and Zach and Debo and LT
and so we're gonna have any Reid run plays and
uh meaning no carries you know for the quarterback on
a run. And honestly, man, that's where I missed it.
Of course he could scramble.

Speaker 2 (40:17):
It's Jaden.

Speaker 14 (40:17):
It's what he's special at and that is one hundred
percent that's on me.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
And uh.

Speaker 14 (40:22):
I also said last night sounds like pressure to our
fans that man, we miss our mark as a team
and uh, with that performance, we need to fix it.
They created an awesome environment, uh, you know at stadium
for the game, and uh, that fix needs to be done,
needs to be done now.

Speaker 11 (40:37):
So I can't believe they got d BO and LT
and they were down thirty eight to seven.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
That's the story.

Speaker 1 (40:43):
Nobody's talking about DEBO different LT defense.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
You know, I saw something speaking of LT.

Speaker 5 (40:51):
How many points would they give up without Debo and LT?

Speaker 1 (40:55):
I saw something on reels where like, I hate that
AI is doing this now. It was an actual interview
with Lawrence Taylor, right, and he's like someone asked him
who's the goat and he's like, y'all want me to
say Brady, it's not it's Joe Montana. And then it
kicks into a I Lawrence Taylor talking and then it's

(41:18):
all highlights of Joe Montana, so you don't see that
it's not Lawrence Taylor talking.

Speaker 2 (41:24):
And the reason I knew.

Speaker 1 (41:25):
Is because it was the most academic breakdown of why
Joe Montana was better than Tom Brady, And I was
like so pissed.

Speaker 2 (41:34):
Because I wanted to hear what LT actually said in
this realm. Why because he was a bad Mamma janma,
That's why, you know what I mean? It would have
just been I'll tell you that I told you before.

Speaker 5 (41:48):
My brother was a red one.

Speaker 1 (41:50):
My brother in law and my brother Charlie played with
LT eighteen holes in a like you know, a tournament
where you got paired up with a celebrity and somebody
had paid a lot of money for it. They won.
They're foursome one. They went to the dinner, they got
a trophy. They were partying with LT. My brother in law,
diehard Giants guy grew up in New York, just couldn't

(42:12):
believe it. Greatest night of his life hanging out with LT.

Speaker 2 (42:14):
Party. All right, LT, great man, what a day. See
you later.

Speaker 1 (42:17):
You know, there are some the Hollywood Casino down in Florida.
All right, man, we'll see you later, you know, thanks
for everything. They go back to the rooms, they go
to bed. They have an early flight. The next morning,
my brother and my brother in law are walking to
the casino. LT is still sitting at the tables and
they're like, oh man, LT took it deep. And so
they go over and they're like, LT Man, we're taking off,
but thanks for everything. He's like, who are you guys?

(42:39):
Had no idea who they were, no idea.

Speaker 2 (42:42):
Who they were.

Speaker 5 (42:43):
This isn't years later.

Speaker 2 (42:46):
Next morning, Oh wow, who are you guys?

Speaker 15 (42:49):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (42:50):
Absolutely hilarious.

Speaker 5 (42:52):
CT is real man.

Speaker 2 (42:55):
Steve Spagnolo.

Speaker 1 (42:56):
When the Chiefs played the Giants or the I'm sorry
Josh Allen and the Bills the other night, he met
him before the game and had a wish for Josh Allen.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
Yeah, I don't want to play you anymore once you retired.

Speaker 5 (43:09):
That was after the game.

Speaker 1 (43:11):
Oh that was after Okay, yeah, I'm sick of playing you, man.
I get why. Yeah, after that. One doesn't go well
in the regular season. Mahomes is uh hail Mary. Wasn't
much of a prayer? Was it his arm strength? Sometimes
I wonder about I don't know. People seem to love
Mahomes and think that he's not declined at all.

Speaker 2 (43:32):
You know, they're out of the playoffs as we speak.
You know that'll change.

Speaker 11 (43:36):
That's crazy. I think it'll change too, But that is crazy.
Like if the season ended today.

Speaker 4 (43:40):
Yeah, we love that.

Speaker 6 (43:41):
Some of the best teams in the league from last
year are not really in it right now, the Ravens
being another one of them.

Speaker 1 (43:49):
Well, there's a couple more stories, but we're running late,
so maybe we'll get to him later. Steve Blast got
back to me. We're going to try to get Steve
on today. Love it around eight o'clock perfect, I hope, so,
he said. He gave me a couple of times and
then said, or even tomorrow will work. So I'm maybe
it'll change mine, but I hope we'll get him on
to talk about that because I'm interested to hear what
he thought about that World Series.

Speaker 5 (44:08):
Oh my god, we.

Speaker 6 (44:09):
Didn't get a talk just from a pitching standpoint. Ye,
Yamamoto stuff. The show, Hey game, the rookie you savage?

Speaker 11 (44:18):
Yeah, well, you know it's wild and I didn't even
think of this watching it. The guy that was out
by an inch at home plate, if he just stands
up and run, he doesn't slide it, it's over. Yeah,
ikf but nobody ever does that.

Speaker 2 (44:31):
No. Yeah, that was Isaiah kinder Falfa.

Speaker 6 (44:33):
Yeah, that would have been the craziest trajectory ever.

Speaker 1 (44:38):
He was so miserable with the Pirates and then to
score the winning run in the World Series. Maybe some
of that pirate's stank made him slide there just enough,
just enough stank on him.

Speaker 13 (44:46):

The Steelers defense on Sunday afternoon for six takeaways and
sacked Colts quarterback Dingram Jones five times as they effectively
shut down the NFL's number one offense for most of
the game. Perhaps even more impressive than the number of
turnovers the defense was able to force against the team
that had only turned the ball over four times this
season heading into the game was the defense's ability to
successfully shut down the NFL's leading rusher, Jonathan Taylor. Taylor

(45:23):
was coming off a performance where he ran for one
hundred and fifty three yards on just twelve carries against
the Titans, but he was held to his lowest rushing
total of the season so far by the Steelers. The
defense held the All Pro Improbable offensive player of the
Year to just forty five yards on fourteen carries and
held Taylor out of the end zone for the first
time in four games. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin will

(45:43):
address the media today for his weekly press conference and
will provide updates on the state of the team as
they turn the page and begin to get ready for
a trip to the West Coast to take on the
LA Chargers on Sunday Night Football.
