against Miami. A Dolphins team that had averaged one hundred
and ninety two rushing yards per game over its last

night at Akrashuer Stadium. But after Steelers twenty eight Dolphins fifteen,
Cam Hayward sounded most enthusiastic about the offense getting one

half comes and our offense really ran the ball well

The Steelers stuffed the run and then some last night
against Miami. A Dolphins team that had averaged one hundred
and ninety two rushing yards per game over its last
four was held to sixty three on the ground last
night at Akrashuer Stadium. But after Steelers twenty eight Dolphins fifteen,
Cam Hayward sounded most enthusiastic about the offense getting one
(14:49):
touchdown the close out the second quarter and another to
open the third.
Speaker 6 (14:54):
You know, we talked so much about double dipping before half,
and it's the game within the game. You know, we
get seven points late and then you know, the second
half comes and our offense really ran the ball well
and then that caused confusion on the back end with
the pass. But when you're able to get fourteen points
(15:16):
like that, it really makes it hard for a team
to overcome that early in the half.

So and I just felt like the offense controlled the.
Speaker 6 (15:24):
Line of scrimmage the entire game, and then you know,
as a defense, we were able to get off quickly.
And you know, the best defense is defense on the sideline.

Thirty three minutes and thirty three seconds a time of
possession and the Steelers with a profound advantage in plays
run last night they had sixty two and the Dolphins
only had forty eight. That is way out of character
for what the Steelers had been this season. Long overdue, Yeah, something,
they got it. They had to address it. And Mike

Tomlins said they had to win the game a certain
way and that was the way, and that's the way
the game was.

The Steelers have gotten on a bit of a role
since winning three straight in late September and early October,
and the offense more than doing its part. But Aaron
Rodgers still wanted to talk about the defense.

Well, I think the defense has played really well last
couple of weeks. Obviously, we're up twenty eight to three.
At one point I thought I might get to take
a seat on the bench and let Mason get in there.
But they you know, they got a good football players.
They made a couple of plays, but to hold him

twenty two points game we should win. Offensively, I feel
like our got into a really good rhythm today, especially second.

We He's done next to very well and put ourselves
behind the chains few times. But him and I got
a really good relationship, you know, spend a lot of

and then we you know, we've converted I think three
fourth downs as well.

Now that third quarter, Steelers up game to Dolphins one
hundred and sixty three to minus twenty. First downs were
nine to nothing, time of possession was eleven minutes to
four minutes, and the score was fourteenth for Pittsburgh's zero
for Miami.

The fourth during that cleanup time, I wanted to ask
you how much how many substitutions did they throw in there? Defensively?
It seemed like they were resting some players and there
was a couple of names you know normally here, you know,
Logan le or little bit sez at autum Wao or
well he was playing playing a lot. I mean, they're

down arming, so they had to rotate up front. It's
not like they put the second team in. That's what
I'm asking you know, it wasn't.

Fourth quarter Miami turned the tables. It was too little,
too late. But the Dolphins had in the first three
quarters combined had five first downs and ninety three total
net yards.

Wow, well, I know it wasn't it minus twenty yards
total in the third quarter for the Dolphins.
Speaker 9 (18:04):
That's just a crazy step and three points Miami got.
It was a fifty four yard field. Well, I didn't
think they're going to be able to make it because
I was watching that guy in warm up and he
was only one for three going to that end from
that distance, So I wasn't real confident they were even
going to get that. But complimentary football the kind you
gotta play if you're going to get better. Yeah, and

this is the time of the year where if you're
going to go anywhere, you got to get better. It
was so good last night. Even Renegade got cheered. Renegade's back.

You know, the last two games they played really well.

against Indianapolis when Indianapolis was still whole. But given the
circumstances and just all the chaos and noise and negativity
after that Bill's game, I think these last two have
been their best two games of the year. Winning in
Baltimore with everything at stake, and then building on that

beating what had been a hot Dolphins team. If not
you know, a great Dolphins team, because they ain't great.

No, but in those circumstances at home on Monday night
with eleven degree temperatures, they had to do what they
did last night.

I'm not overjoyed, but they took care of business and
they did the thing they were supposed to do.

Twenty three straight home wins on Monday night football is
the longest such streak in NFL history. Mike Tomlins twelve

and they put Ryan McCollum in the play left guard,
which he played a handful of snaps. Yeah, one game
ahead of Baaltimore. Down the stretch, they come first tiebreakers
head to head. Pittsburgh obviously leads that one to nothing.

They still have a head to head to go. The
Steelers still have a game at Cleveland, so they would.
