Speaker 1 (00:02):
Guaranteed human. I don't know what it is about. Murray
and Chase were always in blushy same way.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
I mean, Bill Murray just seems like a more self
aware version of Chevy Chase, right, Like I think because
in this guy off, I should I'm.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
A little more remorseful.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
Yeah, he did get kicked off the set of Charlie's
Angels and he did tank a movie last year because
he inappropriately touched.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
One of the women on the set. He's like, I
thought I thought she was in on the joke. I'm
really sorry for the bit he he did. He did.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
They were wearing masks for COVID, and he kept grabbing her.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
And like doing makeouts through the masks.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Oh god, and then he like like mounted her at
one point.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (00:49):
Yeah, the full mount you can you can't go full mount.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
No, they always tell us that.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Here we have meeting these consoleate the iHeart people are
always like, remember, don't go full mount.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Quart amounts are acceptable. Remember the training video Brandy Bellman
and the DV Morning show, no thrusting, do not run
at someone.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Yes, that's that is the tenor of a lot of
our instructional videos.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Though.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Yeah, these rules are all written because it happened. It's
like remember that picnic when Steve Steve ran it so
and so with a herd on.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Why we don't have the picnic anymore. The best was
years ago in our old building.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Someone was dismissed from employment because they they picked up
like a pylon.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Yes, I remember the story. It's a great story.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
What what And they thought they were joking around and
they're doing a lot of look at me with.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
This pylon? Was at okay? And then they were I
don't know if they did a little dan. I don't
know all of them. I wasn't there for it.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
I heard it all secondhand, but I heard it had
something new with little whoop, like maybe lifting up a
dress with the thing like not all the way. I
think it was just like I'm giving excuses for me.
It wasn't all the way.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
It was a pylon.
Speaker 5 (02:21):
It's funny, that's the word done that I was using
a pylon as a penis Who doesn't think that's funny?
Speaker 3 (02:34):
I don't. I don't get it. Is this Russia? Is
this Russia? You can't even do anything anymore.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Dylan does like a second version of Hurricane, but defending
the pylon.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
The pylon guy pretended the pylon was this penis it were?
Speaker 3 (03:00):
They want to fire him? From my heart.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
For what.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
I do wish.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
I mean, that was many many, many years ago, and
I don't know who it was, but I remember that story.
It always made me laugh because I always wondered if
it was like in the middle of an important meeting, like,
were they just screwing around and he went way over
the line or wasn't an actual important meeting going on
and he just kept looking over the pilon. He's like,
I really want to grab that pilon and make it
(03:30):
my peace.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Now, as you all know, quarter two, it's not good.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Now to provide some learity, We're gonna let Steam do
the pylon.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Carol, you're gonna want to move give him some room.
And then he hits play on a boom box. This
was wrong. This was wrong.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
You're saying I had no idea. No, this was not
in the tutorial. That always mean because the person who
did it had to think it was okay. He didn't
pick it up thinking he was gonna get fired.
Speaker 6 (04:21):
No.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
I like to imagine that he worked for pen Dot
before this. He's like, this isn't.
Speaker 7 (04:27):
A daily thing.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
That we did at work. I come here this bit
killed when I worked at pen Dot. You guys have
no humor. I didn't know. I didn't know. We used
to stack the cones make it bigger. Oh my god. Anyways,
(04:50):
Abby's got a news update for you. What's going on?
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Ted West langing out in studio and Charlie Batchell joined
us at eight forty five?
Speaker 4 (04:55):
Is this hour brought to you by Window Nation Rain
today with a high of forty nine, These sports website
Spidation ranked all fourteen playoff teams based on their likelihood
of winning it all. Where do you think they placed
the Steelers out of fourteen?
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Pretty low?
Speaker 4 (05:11):
I'm going to say eleven, Dad, you want to guess
thirteen thirteen? That's right where they put them. So Carolina
Panthers were at fourteen, Pittsburgh Steelers were at number thirteen.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Yeah, I know, Lever Tardar's bitching about that yesterday.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Make the Panthers play the Steelers and the losers out
of the playoffs and the.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Winner is out of the playoffs. Come on, shut up?
Why so are you your Dolphins think? Danny? This went?
Speaker 4 (05:36):
By the way. At number twelve was the Packers eleven
was the Chargers, ten was the Texans, nine the Bears,
eight Jaguars, seven Eagles, six Patriots. Number five was the Broncos,
Number four was the Bills, three the forty nine Ers,
number two the Rams, and number one the Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
I think this postseason is going to be a lot
of fun because it's a lot of new faces. Joe Burrow,
no Mahomes, no Lamar Jackson in the you know, in
the AFC. Caleb Williams possibly making a big splash, Jordan
Love possibly making a splash.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Right, Darnold back in a real way, right, Yeah? And
does Stafford have that magic one more time?
Speaker 6 (06:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (06:19):
How about Drake may too. I mean, like there's some exciting,
you know, up and comers. Bon Nicks.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
I'm sort of waiting for the wheels to fall off
the Broncos bandwagon.
Speaker 8 (06:27):
The Bonicks things is perplexing, Like it feels like he's
I don't know, it seems inauthentic right now, and it's
not right.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
I don't want to believe in it yet. There's other
pieces to the Broncos that make them. Their deeper defense
is sick. The old line's pretty good. R. J.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Harvey has you know, been great, But boy, it seems
like Sean Payton never hated Drew Brees like this.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
I know he seems to hate bon Nicks. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
Uh, Champayne hates all quarterbacks though, Yeah, but Breeze at
least had I don't know.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
I guess maybe bree pictures of him. Breeze's existence was
like if he can do it, I could do it.
He's five to nine. It could be me out there,
it could be anyone. He's the everyman quarterback.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Yeah, I don't know. I'm looking forward to these playoffs.
I mean, I'm never not looking forward to the playoffs
because I think it's like the these next two weeks
of NFL football are the best and then the best
single day of football of the year AFC NFC Championship,
which is better than the Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Yeah, but you don't have that. Here we go my
homes right everybody.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
No, It's gonna be exciting and hopefully the Steelers somehow
sneak through, because, like I was saying to you guys earlier,
who wants to play the Steelers?
Speaker 3 (07:49):
I don't know nobody.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
I don't think people want to play the Steelers right now,
Like they're they're like the wounded animal type thing.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
You don't know what you're gonna get. Yeah, you're gonna
get your face slashed. That's right.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
We've been waiting to do all the things correctly until
the end of the year. All those screw ups you
have on tape that was by design. Arthur Smith has
eight million plays with the goal line. Ready to go, Tad,
we get fourth.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
And gold the goal line again. You wait? Yeah, you
watch Nick Kenneth game.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Well, pitch is gonna work, because why would we do
it again?
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Height.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Of course they're not gonna have one guy in the
two defenders unblocked.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
That won't happen or will it? All right, what's next?
I want to get to this story. It is so weird, Tad.
Speaker 4 (08:34):
I'm not sure if you're aware of this because we
got to talk about it before. Did you hear about
the story about Tommy Lee of Motley Cruz's wife getting
catfished a while back? Okay, I don't know if you
know who Ronnie Radkey is. He is a frontman of
a band called Falling in Reverse.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Okay, which if.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
You don't know the man, you could probably picture what
it looks like a little bit a lot of like,
you know, tattoos, black, you know, all.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
That kind of stuff. So is he a magician or
is he a bass player for a battle band?
Speaker 4 (09:09):
A while back, this was May of twenty twenty five,
Britney claimed that she was catfished on social media by
somebody that she thought was Ronnie Radkey while she's married
to Tommy Lee and like she was either in love
with this person or something where she was like trying
(09:31):
to meet up with him and everything, and Ronnie Radkey
was on social media going like, hey, this isn't me.
And so this came out, and then at some point
there was something going about that they were separated, that
Tommy Lee and Brittany were separated, or that they were
getting divorced, and Tommy Lee said that that was not
true and that they talked about everything and they were
(09:52):
still together and they.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Are still together to this day. Okay, now, Ronnie.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
Radkey has filed a restraining order against Britney f Merlin.
This is as of Monday.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Was it really Ronnie Radkey or was it his evil catfish? Well, right,
so this woman is ostensibly still married too.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
She's still married to Tommy Lee and.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
She is stalking Ronnie Radkey to the extent that he
had to put out a restraining order.
Speaker 4 (10:22):
Now he's saying that she's continually harassing him on social
media and that her behavior has escalated because he's ignoring
her messages. But he's also claiming that she's driving to
his house, she's sitting outside.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
Okay, I didn't think it could be just for social media.
I'm like, you can give it a restraining order for tweets.
Uh oh, I'm in trouble.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
Apparently she's followed him to a doctor's appointment and has
like waited outside. But Furlin's attorney says that she's the
one being harassed because she He's saying that the whole
story in this narrative that she was being catfished and
that she wasn't talking to Radkey this whole time is
(11:11):
not true.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
She's saying it is him. I'm lost. I have to
be honest with you. I have no idea what's going.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
On of catfishing again, is that somebody's pretending to be
somebody else, right, And so when Ronnie Radkey, you know,
kind of exposed this story or she said, you know
that she got I don't know if she got caught,
like being at his house or something like that. She
was like, you know, he was like, this isn't me.
(11:39):
I'm not talking to this woman, Like I have no
remember any of this is. But she's saying, now, as
he's saying this woman is harassing me, she's like, no,
it wasn't catfishing, it was you.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
Oh okay, now that makes more sense to me.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
So now this is why they're battling now in the
legal system.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
So this harassing stalker issued a restraining order against the Stocky.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Yeah, I like that, yes, reverse.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
So now Raky's basically saying that he thinks she's committing
a crime. She says that he's actually messing with her.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
I think we should put them all in jail, just
to be safe. Jail them. Tommy Lee, you two a
couple months think about things, you know.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
It's just it's so unlike Tommy Lee to be involved
with somebody who's dramatic like this.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
I can't believe.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
Yeah, Rain today with I forty nine.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
On the way for you.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Charlie Batch will be joining us at eight forty five.
We'll talk to Charlie. Abby and I had an opportunity
to go to the Batch Foundation over Christmas and do
a present wrapping, a gift wrapping session for the kids
for their gift bags.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
It was so fun. It was just amazing.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
It was adorable for one, and how many people get
involved in it too was pretty phenomenal.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
Like we were one of.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Many, many, many, many many. Yeah, lots of media people
make it out there as well.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
It's great, but the facility is insane. I don't think
that you and I even had a full understanding way
of what is available there in terms of community initiatives
and after school programming and just what is available in
that building.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
Do you know they have a doctor's office, a UPMC
doctor's office in the Batch Foundation for the community.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
That's incredible.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
So, like you literally walk into this room and it's
like your doctor's office. Yeah, it has all the UPMC
lettering and everything, and I'm like, this is an actual
working doctor's office.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
He's like, yep, but that's unreally, it was unbelievable. It
looked nice. Yeah, yeah, it was pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
So I mean that's you know, the level of the
scope of what he's doing out there just grows exponentially.
And that was something UPMC came to them and they
were like, hey, we'd like.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
To partner up with you. And this campus is so huge.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
It was three whole houses on a block that they
raised and turn into this humongous was a thirty thousand
square feet.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
That thy that sounds correct.
Speaker 9 (14:05):
Yeah, And he kept taking us into different rooms and
it just kept going and going and going and going,
and there are all of these different facilities for the kids'
recording studios, science lab, yeah, study centers.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
There was one room he's like, this is a room
where you know, if kids just need to get away,
just be chilled for a while and come in here.
And it's like it was like all these cushions and
stuff and bear yeah, and then like there were two
little kids buried underneath all the stuff that we didn't
see when we walked in, and then they like popped out.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
He's like, oh, I'm sorry, there's a couple of people
us in this room. Oh that's so cool. I think
Charlie does great.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
Word.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
It's amazing.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
Yeah, So we'll talk to Chuck about the Steelers headed
to the Wildcard weekend to face c. J. Stroud and
the Texans, hosting that game. First home playoff game where
people can go and attend since twenty eighteen. Steelers Texans
begins four pm with Matt Williamson and Tom Offerman on
(15:02):
the flagship Mike Pursuit of Bob Labriola and Jerry Doulac
continue pregame coverage at six fifteen, before that a fifteen
kickoff Robkin, Max Starks, and Missy Matthews. Monday Nights, Steelers
Texans on DVE.
Speaker 10 (15:15):
Live from the Donz Appliances Studios where Pittsburgh shops for appliances.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
This is w DVEE Pittsburgh. I love that song and
haven't heard it forever.
Speaker 10 (15:25):
Michelle is always open to suggestionsweek days at noon.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
You willed the menu in the Electric Lunch.
Speaker 5 (15:32):
Good song man, That's a great song.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
On DVEE from the Seedon Hill University Weather Center.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
Schedule your campus visit today.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
This report is sponsored by o'keef's Working Hands hand Cream.
It's gonna be cloudy today with rain developing a high
of fifty deeken as upon as Mike Persuda with your
Sports Now on your radio.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
Home of the Steelers, one of two point five DVE.
Speaker 11 (15:55):
Sports Star brought to you boy Bridgeville applied s DK
metcalf back in the Steelers' locker room on the South
Side yesterday, which according to Metcalf, being suspended for the
last two games.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
I'm excited to.
Speaker 7 (16:09):
Have to be back into building around my teammates, you know,
being in meeting's, going to practice, you know, all the
things that you know encompass a week of preparation.
Speaker 11 (16:18):
Now, Metcalf repeatedly said he could not talk about what
happened and what's going on. Apparently there's some litigation ongoing
or pending complicated levels to the incident in Detroit. But
he was asked if he had felt responsible for putting
the Steelers in a bad spot, you know, still needing
(16:40):
a win in the last two games and having to
get it without them.
Speaker 7 (16:45):
No, sir, because you know, I feel full responsibility for
my actions, and you know that's it. But you know,
I've got the most respect and you know, confidence in
my teammates were still going out there and performing to
the best of ability.
Speaker 11 (16:59):
I suspect and I hope that that's what he thinks
he has to say there, because in a really.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
Bad spot, it's incongruous at best. Yeah, I just can't
have that. I mean, there's no explanation for it. There's
no justification of it. It just you can't. It's excusing
the fan, and I know the fan is a jackass,
and they should have dealt with him differently.
Speaker 11 (17:21):
Not your first road game, because they got them back.
Now they got through it, and it's funny. I'm curious
how you guys think about this. I was hopeful they
would beat Cleveland so they could rest some guys, and
you know, basically take the last game off, which would
have been beneficial, particularly the longer ago in the playoffs,
it would have become more beneficial. But the way it
(17:42):
crescendoed and now they go into it seemingly hitting the
ground running and having had to already play a playoff
game to get ready to play a playoff game, did
this work out better in a kind of convoluted, screwy way.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
Yes, it might have.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
And one of the main reasons is they didn't suffer
the attrition that the Ravens did from that game.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
Well, we don't think so.
Speaker 11 (18:04):
Well, we haven't heard, yeah anything, some stuff came up
after the game, but.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Yeah, but nobody got carted off. Yeah. You know, when
Cam Hayward chased Derek Henry down, thought he was done.
I thought he was out.
Speaker 11 (18:16):
It's like, okay, one play in Henry just ran half
the field and you lost your all program exactly.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
Yeah, this is going well.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
Right, and then Cam went on to have one of
the best games of his career. Like I will never
forget that game that he had there. I mean, he
desperately wants to join the guys he looks up to
in that Steeler organization who have hardware.
Speaker 11 (18:35):
Williamson said on the point after yesterday met Williamson, he said,
he's an All Pro again, at least second team, if
not first team.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
I mean, I thought, I think he's had an amazing year.
I know there are people who are not fans of his,
but that don't age it's incredible.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
But what called him forty five after the game?
Speaker 11 (18:55):
Yeah, so you know, forty five year old guy doing
that stuff.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
That's really good. But it didn't look like any major
injuries and now it didn't look like it. So yeah,
this might have worked out. It might have.
Speaker 11 (19:08):
It might have other than everybody was losing their minds
for six days after the Cleveland.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
Game, well, because it was lined up perfectly for them
to get smacked at home without DK Metcalf against Derrick
Henry who had been running all over everybody, and Harbaugh
finally figured out, uh, if I just run him, we
can win. And it took him a little bit to
figure that out.
Speaker 11 (19:33):
The one thing that people may someday grasp and I
don't have a lot of optimism that this will actually happen,
but it's a possibility, is people may grasp that in
the NFL, what happens on one Sunday doesn't mean it's
going to happen on the next Sunday.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
Wait a second, say it one more time. I'm lost here.
Like our buddy Dave Damashek. I saw a tweet from him.
Speaker 11 (19:56):
He said, how goodness to stealer team scores six points
against Cleveland to do what it did against Baltimore.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
Well, one factor is that.
Speaker 11 (20:04):
Cleveland's defense is really good, Jim Schwartz, And Baltimore sucks.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Yeah, and they and they lost Kyle Hamilton, they lost.
Speaker 11 (20:11):
I mean matchups are different, availabilities are different, games are different. Yeah,
I expect the Steelers to really struggle on offense. Again,
haven't done the deep dive on the Texans yet, but
my initial suspicion is if they win this game, it's
gonna be sixteen to ten. Yeah, it's going to be
a slog something looking like that. Punting is not going
to be a bad thing. Just don't turn it over,
(20:32):
don't put it on a tee for them, because they
should have a hard time scoring on you also. But yeah,
they're not going to go up and down the field
just because Metcalf's back. Still got to protect against those
edge guys to throw it to.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
Them, both double digit guys. It's going to be challenging
without Washington.
Speaker 11 (20:49):
It's going to be challenging for Houston against Watton, high
Smith and Herbig and even Sawyer's giving them good reps
when he's in there. It's gonna be a fun uh.
As our buddy Wolf would say, slobber knocker.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
Yeh, I mean Logan Lee was making place. Yea count
of Betton might have had his game of the year
this past time, Yes, he might have. He's played He's
played well in the second half too. When they started
doing the uh, they started mimicking Baltimore a little bit
and bringing them backers up into the gaps on the line,
and the vast majority of the time they drop out anyway,
But that screws with the double teams because the line
(21:22):
has to think, well, this guy might come, I'm better.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Be ready for him.
Speaker 11 (21:25):
And Benton's way better against single teams than double teams,
and Cam is Cam and Harmon's playing very very well.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
I just want to point out that we didn't get
an opportunity yesterday to talk about the Penguins at all,
but they just rattled off five in a row.
Speaker 11 (21:41):
They did, and Sydney Crosby has been recognized for that
five in a row streak. You know, the NHL does
the three Stars of the Week every week. Crosby your
second star for the week ending on January the fourth.
Four goals, four assists, eight points in four games. During
the most recent period, He's got multiple points in three
(22:02):
straight games and he had an assist on the goal
that tied the game the other day with fourteen seconds
left in was a Columbus yeah, and scored the game
winner in ot Penguins have won five in a row,
season long five game winning streak. That's in the wake
(22:23):
of a season long eight game losing streak. And in
the Eastern Conference, they're the second wildcard right now with
forty nine points. They're five points behind Detroit, which is
the top team in the East, and they are six
points ahead of Columbus, which is the bottom team in
the East. Yeah, you know, it's these streaks. Just you
win a couple in a row, you shoot up. You
(22:44):
lose a couple in a row, you're down in the
near the bottom.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
And when you get a chance to congratulate Jacob and
his Indiana Hoosiers, big win.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
For Signatian company, knock the crap out of Alabama.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
You know, isn't it funny how when everybody can pay
players now the SEC stakes.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
Who should have been doing this all along?
Speaker 1 (23:07):
Are there like four and nine in bowl games this
year and seven against non SEC teams but non playoff
bowl games? To me or yeah, there's just no point
to it anymore. There always used to be though. There
used to be pride in just getting the Blue Bonnet Bowl.
Speaker 11 (23:23):
You know, you guys would actually playing it. Yeah, they
played all year, Yeah, right, would play. They wouldn't say
I'm gonna prepare for the draft or I'm going into
transfer portal.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
But it makes sense to me that they do, Like
if it were if that were me, I also would
not take a chance to play in a game that
didn't matter with my future on the line.
Speaker 11 (23:42):
Yeah, I just I hate to be alarmist, but I
think the way this is heading, it's going to be
the Megas schools and nobody's gonna care about anybody else eventually.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
How can you say that Indiana is one of the
final teams, like they're the favorite, but they're a big
ten team.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Yeah, I mean not, you know, and they're if Indiana,
but they're not.
Speaker 11 (24:02):
Like if they slump and they end up in the
Blue Bottom Bowl, nobody's gonna care and nobody's gonna play
in it. You know, it's gonna be big ten sec
maybe Notre Dame. We'll probably survive all this because what
do you want to say, Jacob nothing. Oh, he's got
his mic, Mike. I'll let Mike go off. I kind
of agree. I think he's got a good point. I
think if you're not in it, I mean, you saw it.
Speaker 12 (24:23):
You remember Kenny Pickett sat out of that Bowl game
against who was it, Michigan State?
Speaker 3 (24:28):
Yeah, right, yeah, right right.
Speaker 12 (24:29):
Kenneth Walker sat out of that game and Kenny Pickett
did too, Like, what was the point of that game?
Speaker 11 (24:36):
Well, we won, so it was a great point to it.
But uh no, I mean like East Carolina played Pitt.
East Carolina had got half their team sat out or transferred,
and they played in Annapolis, Maryland. Yeah, like on a
Friday afternoon or whatever it was.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
You know, but it's fun to gamble on all that stuff.
Speaker 12 (24:56):
Mike, Mike, do you think if they had done the
right thing and made the Pinch Bowl Pitt versus Penn State,
guys would have played in that game. It's a great
question instead of screwing it up and putting Clemson it
instead of Pitch.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
Yeah, it's a great question. Maybe maybe not. I don't know.
I just I don't like the way college sports are headed.
What do you think is going to be in the final?
It's he's all smiles, all chick lits over there. Indian
Oregon is a big game. Hard to beat a team
twice in one years, Yes, it is. And they're good.
(25:29):
You guys are very good. They're very good.
Speaker 12 (25:32):
Dan Lanning, who's the Oregon coach, and Sigg who's obviously
the IU coach. Of all active head coaches, regardless of
how many games coaches, they have the two highest winning
percentages in all of college football.
Speaker 11 (25:45):
Wow, Signetti is just every time I see that he
had a press conference.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
I find the clips. Oh yeah, he has been just
listening to him in the way he talks, in his attitude.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
Entertaining beyond belief, and I love the fact that he's like,
I don't keep guys here till two in the morning,
get your work done, and you get out of here
and go home. He was an hour and a half
hour and forty five minute practices. I saw somebody put
a thing up on Twitter the other day. It was
like twelve head shots of Signetti, and you know, he's
always got that look on his face like he hasn't
taken a dump in a week and a half. He's
never happy, and it's the same like ticked off expression,
(26:20):
and it said like Signetti after a touchdown, Signetti after
sec Yeah, Signetti winning, Signetti losing, Signetti after a kick return.
Speaker 12 (26:29):
And a season like this, I got a lot of
you know, I've spent a lot of money with game
tickets and merch After they won the Big Ten Championship game,
I got a shirt to commemorate that Womendozo in the Heisman.
I got a shirt for that. When they won the
Rose Bowl last week. I spent a lot of money
on that stuff. But the one shirt I always wear
for a game is the shirt I got at the
beginning of last year. Would you guys know is the
(26:52):
Marlborough logo? Yeah, with signette. It's the only shirt I wear.
Like I got all this new stuff as the season
has gone on, the only shirt I wear that signaty shirt.
You gotta keep it because he I mean without him,
I mean, this team is nothing.
Speaker 11 (27:04):
Do you have a pair of those red and white
vertical stripe basketball world pants.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
I've had those since freshman year. I've had that.
Speaker 11 (27:12):
And as you're a freshman and you register for class,
do they give you your red and white vertical basketball fans?
Speaker 12 (27:21):
I just hated the games Thursdays like the Indiana student handbook,
and you get a pair of candy strip pants?
Speaker 8 (27:25):
Is it?
Speaker 3 (27:25):
One games Thursday? One games Friday? This week? Yes, Ole Miss,
Ole Miss and Miami is Thursday.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
I know the NFL playoffs here, but the reason why
Miami is sneaky good dude, are you kidding me? Lost
a couple I think people pushed the Ohio state around.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
People overlook them. They got a lot of talent, all right.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
We got Charlie Batch coming in and talking Steelers when
we return, Abby, you'll have your news coming up at
the top of the hour.
Speaker 3 (27:48):

Speaker 4 (27:50):
And also, unfortunately, we're going to do a year and
review of all the things that ended up in people's
butts and the e ers all across the country.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
As we said, Charlie Batch is not going to talk
about that. He is talking about the Steelers though. When
we come back with first Mic Randal.
Speaker 11 (28:02):

Speaker 3 (29:43):
We're doing great.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
We were telling people how much fun Abby and I
had visiting the Batch Foundation for Christmas and being a
part of the team of elves wrapping presence for the
gift bags that you guys put together this year. That
is an incredible operation that you got going on.
Speaker 6 (30:00):
We appreciate you coming through you and Abbey and everyone
else who have volunteered throughout the holiday season, and we
just got like to follow the journey of the toy
and being able to deliver as well. So we go
through the collection, wrapping and then delivering and with this
year we adopted one and eleven families, which was eighteen
hundred and eleven kids, and it took over seventeen hundred
volunteers to make this happen, So we are truly grateful.
(30:22):
So thank you to each and everyone who played a
part in this year's holiday beat.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
It was so cool youe entire high school football teams
there loading like working the loading docks and stuff like.
It was just I cannot believe how big the facilities
and how much you guys are accomplishing for the community.
So I continued success to you and we'll bring an
even bigger crew next year.
Speaker 6 (30:40):
Charlie, Hey, we appreciate you.
Speaker 3 (30:42):
Thank you all right, So.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
Let's talk Steelers and Ravens. Boy, that one was one
of the all time classic Steelers Ravens games. You know,
two days after it, I am still basking in the
glory of that one. I spent all day yesterday watching
the highlights from the game and going over all of
(31:04):
the scenarios that the Steelers were able to overcome. I
cannot believe the way that one unfolded. And now they've
got a real opportunity here with the Texans coming into town.
Wild card weekend for the Pittsburgh Steelers with Aaron Rodgers
and company, what do you think is the thing that
bodes the best for the Pittsburgh Steelers in their quest
(31:27):
to get a playoff win for the first time in
eight years.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
Yeah, they truly believe.
Speaker 6 (31:32):
And if you heard Aaron Rodgers afterward, he said, we
believe And that was the whole message all the way
through the week, getting through this game. I figured out
a way to win and getting into tournament. And they
truly believe that they have an opportunity. When you just
look at the field, they're not afraid of anybody. There's
nobody out there that causes them a threat, and they
are excited to be there and ultimately here we are
with the new season now that they're in, and this
(31:54):
is the reason why Aaron Rodgers brought here to be
able to participate and get us to and get us
over like he said, like we know.
Speaker 11 (32:01):
He can, Charlie, if they could have picked the scenario
in which they entered the playoffs, would they have picked
winning a big game in a dramatic fashion such as
they did against Baltimore or would they rather have rested
everybody and just kind of taking the weekend off before
the postseason.
Speaker 6 (32:18):
Yeah, I think getting in and winning a game like
this gets people excited because the last couple of years
they kind of limped into the playoffs and didn't expect
much in the first round. But during this time of year,
you have to get lucky, obviously with injuries, making sure
that you're injury free, and then you have to get
hot at the right time. And everybody's talking about the
Houston Texas winning nine in a row, but this team
here has won four out of the last five.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
So this is a.
Speaker 6 (32:40):
Formula that kind of reminds me of that Super Bowl
forty run when we had twenty years ago that we
celebrated just in November and now watching this team unfold,
they truly reminds me of that run.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
How shocked were you that the Steelers defense stepped up
After giving up a whole lot of rushing art to
Derrick Henry early, they ended up shutting him down and
that defensive line ended up having one hell of a
game when all of a sudden done.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
They really did.
Speaker 6 (33:09):
And you have to give hots off to Cam Hayward. Man,
this guy is playing phenomenal front. I know we talked
about Derek Harmon and the reason why we bought him
in the first round. The Cam has really rallied those
guys around. We're seeing a lot more production from Keanu Bitten.
Even Logan Lee had a big play in the game.
Won't show up in the highlights, but man, he had
a huge pass defense and on that tip ball. So again,
(33:31):
these guys are all rallying the round and that starts
with that leader at front, Cam Hayward.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
Cam was brilliant offensively. Do you think they have enough
of an array of weapons right now? Even with DK
coming back? But I mean.
Speaker 3 (33:48):
Aaron Rodgers was really ringing the towel dry.
Speaker 1 (33:52):
They're trying to figure out a way to move the
ball there, and he took advantage of Kyle Hamilton not
being there, I think. But is the lineup gonna end
up being DK Feeling and Calvin Austin.
Speaker 3 (34:03):
What are going to be his best options? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (34:06):
I think they'll probably figured that out. We all know
DK is going to be out there. But again, you know,
as you studied this Houston defense and they put the
game plan together, they're going to put the right core
receivers out there, depending on personnel groups. So what gets
me excited about it is fact that nobody expected too
much coming from Cleveland to Baltimore. I didn't expect Aaron
to get close to three hundred yards passing. I thought
(34:27):
they would win the game. But just to see him,
you know, methodically work the football around and getting your
weapons back now a cause of the threat, so that
Houston defense can't turn around and say, Okay, there's going
to be one dimensional because he almost threw for three
hundred yards. Again, is Baltimore in a game that matter?
So now you truly have to defend both pass a run.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Now, Well, being that that's the case, I mean I
wanted to see them run the ball a whole lot
more than they did I mean, the circumstances dictated that
they had to throw the ball a lot there in
the fourth quarter in particular. But is this a game,
Is this a defen that they can go to their
you know, two headed monster in the backfield and see
only team in the league that had two.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
Guys rushed for over a thousand yards this year.
Speaker 6 (35:09):
Yeah, I mean those guys, I mean, they're going to
be tough of fun, there's no question about it. But again,
every week is different. And when Baltimore started kind of
loading the box and said we dare you to pass,
you can't beat us and lo and behold, they were
able to do that. So it's going to be a
matter of what Houston truly tried to take away. And
if I'm them, I probably try to take away the
running game, make it one dimension or see if that
(35:30):
pass rush if the Texans can get after the Steelers
offensive line.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
But here's the beauty of playing at home.
Speaker 6 (35:35):
The one weapon is going to be Aaron Rodgers snap
count being able to keep that defensive front off balance
and not allowed them the time up to snap. And
if that's the case, the advantage goes to the Steelers.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
Charlie Badge how about that crowd on Sunday night. That
was unbelievable.
Speaker 6 (35:51):
I mean, it truly felt like a playoff atmosphere. Me
and Mike talked about that on the post game. It
was electric all the way through, and even up to
the point of the field goal attempt, the crowd was
still in and of course you still had a few
folks that were kind of in the you know, the
concession area, and they were attempting to leave. And I
think I heard that the today Steelers turned off the
TVs down in those areas, so they didn't even get
(36:14):
a chance to see it on TV. So they heard it,
they heard the crowd, but they didn't see what their
own as. So it'll be interesting to see if some
people are willing to step up and call in and
say they missed the moment. But again, through the point
of the crowd, they were in it. And I was
watching those fans behind the field goal and ultimately during uprights,
and then when they started yelling, everybody else started yelling,
(36:35):
and there was just truly excitement and the way to
see everybody celebrated. So who kudos to those fans that
acting shore. We're going to need you again this.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
Week they shut the TVs off.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
Maybe maybe they had direct TV and they didn't have
NBC like a lot of people. I don't know if
you saw that a lot of people had to find
other means to watch the game.
Speaker 3 (36:58):
Is it okay?
Speaker 1 (36:59):
Well, the good news is this one will be on
Monday Night football the Steelers and the Texans, and Charlie,
you and Michael be staying up late once again for
the post two am shift.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
Chuck, we're sitting.
Speaker 6 (37:11):
Back, We're like, yes, we made the playoff that we
look at each other like it's Monday night. Oh my goodness,
we're gonna be up.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
Later a year.
Speaker 6 (37:16):
So but again, this is you know, you also have
to credit the schedule makers at the NFL, at the
league level man that brought back and putting together a
regular season a schedule in early parts of the year,
announced it in May and make this game the last
game of the year. And it goes down to the
buzzer man. That is an awesome man. Great job at
the schedule makers in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (37:36):
Charlie Batch brought you by Edgar Snyder and Associates this
morning on DV. Charlie, Thanks as always, Buddy.
Speaker 6 (37:40):
Yeah, I appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (37:41):
Thanks for having me Hi Western Pennsylvania. This is Edgar Snyder.
I want to thank you for over four
