Speaker 1 (00:03):
Here's something nuts that popped up on Twitter, some generic
football account that has like a million followers.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
So who am I to say generic?
Speaker 1 (00:13):
But this Twitter account complained that Puka Tokupa of the
La Rams and Cam Scatabo of the New York Giants
are both underpaid. The story goes that Niakua can't afford
a home in La He's running an apartment. He only
takes home four hundred and eighty K after taxes. Scatter
(00:35):
Boat is only making two hundred and fifty k after taxes. Yo,
how many of you take home two hundred and fifty
k after taxes.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Or four hundred and eighty K for that matter. Let alone.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Nakula can afford a home easy, just not the one
he wants. Nikua could buy my host in cash if
he's interested, come on down. Nakua and Scatabo are both
on their rookie deals. That's how the NFL works. They're
both gonna make millions if they're good enough, and they
both look like they are certainly great opportunity and they
(01:14):
live the glamorous life of an NFL player. The idea
that these two dinks are somehow victims is insane. They
make more than probably all but two or three percent
of the population. They make more than me, and I
(01:35):
make more than you. If you'd like to put things
in perspective. Maybe again, too much perspective. Ex Scatabo only
played a few games before he got hurt. But wait,
there's more. The Puka and the Coupa story gets weirder
and weirder. First off, his brother has been arrested for
stealing a car that belonged to a member of the
(01:58):
Los Angeles Lakers. Below the line roster got and now
Nakua and the Rams point tonight. Don't forget the coup
is in deep kim chi because he was on a
live stream and the host asked him to rehearse a
touchdown celebration that he suggested, and whether Nikua knew it
(02:18):
or not, the gesture made that Nakua did is anti Semitic,
and there's a really awful meme that goes with it.
Now he con plead ignorance. But what's he doing on
that live stream? If you know, was he familiar with
the host? I mean, what did he think was gonna happen?
I gotta be honest. I saw the meme, I saw
(02:41):
the gesture the coup should be suspended for tonight's game.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
There's no question about that. It's hate speech and you
got to know better.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
But then again, in today's country, all hate speech means
is that it's Thursday. This segment brought to us by
(03:09):
eighty four Lomer Dynasty, partner of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Your
reaction to any or all of that, you can call
now or get in line for calls on the fifteens
A three three four one two WSDX.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
I want your thoughts on that.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
I want your thoughts on the Penguin sale after I've
informed you that Mario having his affiliation renewed with the
Penguins would not mean them winning any quicker. It'd make
me happy, it would make you happy. I think it
would make him happy. But it's optics and does not
impact the hockey at all. This new ownership group worries
me because they have to go out and raise more
money to get the sale through. They're rookie sports owners
(03:48):
if you don't count East Coast Hockey LEAGUEAA Hockey, whereas
Fendwly Sports Group are professional sports owners. Boston Red Sox,
Liverpool Football Club, Penguins. Up until this sale, they probably
sold the Penguins to get in line for an NBA
expansion franchise. They knew what they were doing, They know
(04:10):
how to win, they spend money, they have money. I
don't see this as a good move, certainly, not an
upward move, not a sideways move. I just don't trust it.
I hope I'm wrong, but right now I do not
trust it. So your thoughts at a three, three, four
(04:31):
to one two WSDX, how many touchdowns do you think
it'll take for the Steelers to beat Detroit at Detroit
because they lead the NFL in points. I think they
got to score at least twenty eight points to even
have a chance in the game. And I don't think
they can force a rock fight, not against Detroit and
(04:52):
certainly not there. Turning out to the Penguins on the
ice she loves in goal tonight at Autio, So bet
the over. Sheloffs has lost nine of his last ten starts,
so I'm obviously thrilled to see him in there.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
And that's where the Penguins split the difference.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
If you're telling me you want to call your way
to a playoff birth if that's important. So we don't
hear from Sid's agent again. Then call morrishoff up. He's
your best goalie. You know what the pen was have
really mangled. I haven't spoken about this enough. They have
mangled Harris and Brunic season the nineteen year old defenseman.
They brought him up, played him, didn't like how we played,
(05:32):
didn't want to send him back to junior, scratched him,
scratched him, scratched him, scratched him a bunch of times.
Went to Wilkes on the conditioning assignment. That's loophole because
unless it's four conditioning assignment, he had to go back
to junior. Now he's gonna go play for Canada at
the World Junior Championships and that's good, but he's only
(05:54):
played a handful of games in a couple months.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
That's just stupid.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
That can't be good for Brune development or for his confidence. Hey,
if the Penguins had that little faith in Brunic, he
should have been sent back to juniors after the nine
game line of demarcation. What if the peng was up
is And I'm gonna say it again and again, and
it's definitely true that good started aft them up and
(06:21):
what Sid's agent said, because now it's all about scratching
out a wild card and making the playoffs. For Sid's sake,
focus has been misplaced. This was supposed to be a
developmental year, and now it is not. Here's a pretty
funny story. We're talking about how the athletes hate media.
(06:42):
The teams hate media too. The teams think they can
do all the media they need through their website and
their own social and the Seattle Kraken. They've lost nine
out of ten, and after game the other night, their
coach Lane Lambert came in and only took two questions
and both were from the team's own in house website reporter,
(07:06):
and they were innocuous and short.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
He gave a short answer to both.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Uh. The whole postgame press conference was under a minute
at that point. One of the real media that's there
who were trying to ask questions should have yelled, hey, listen,
f you, F you because I would have, and I
swear to God I would have that. Ever happens with
the Penguins where Muse is only talking to Michelle Critciolo
and we get ignored.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
If you you'll hear it everywhere, it'll go viral. F you.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
You know, I know, teams don't think they need the
media anymore, but they do, especially the bad teams. There's
some teams like like the Toronto Maple Leafs don't need
media because they're gonna sell it every game. When the
Penguins are great, they don't need media because then they
sell it every game. But look at now, look at
all the empty seats lately, and plus the real media
(07:58):
because because no offense to me, but the website media,
the inhause media is not real media.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
It just isn't.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
It's pr The real media deserves more respect than that.
And if the real media doesn't get it, then they
need to dig in their heels in dishot some punishment
because that crap can go both ways, That disrespect can
go both ways, and it absolutely needs to. But I've
always said, and this is what the local media certainly
(08:27):
doesn't understand. Like the Pirates, all the people who cover
the Pirates are pirate fans. It's supposed to be an
adversarial relationship to some degree, to some degree, and if
it's not, then you're not really reporting.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
And people say, oh, you're a.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
Penguins fan, Yeah I am, and I castigate them like
I just did about for example, Brunick and his handling
because I wanted to do better and because yeah, in
some cases this case with Brunick, the approach they're taken
after the hot start.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
I do know better.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
You can look out on the ice and know that
I know better because it's shouldn't be.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
For example, Hayes protected a lead.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Against San Jose if Sid, if SID just finished the shift.
Get the kids out there against their kids, because that's developmental.
You find out something, and I'm gonna be honest. If
you don't think Ben Kendall right now is a better
hockey player than Kevin Hayes, you know what you're talking about.
If you don't think the Rutger McGorty right now is
(09:22):
a better hockey player than the Connor Doer, you don't
know what.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
You're talking about. Oh so get your calls in right
now for calls on the fifteens.
Speaker 1 (09:31):

Speaker 4 (09:47):
We're all gonna rock to the rules I make how
are you liking that the ex at one O five nine.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
Your calls in Now, Well, I got a great story though,
if we don't get more calls, but we do have Jared, Jared,
you're on with double.
Speaker 5 (10:07):
M Hey, super gen. Uh you're talking about its uh
sports media and how these players and coaches don't want
to get out any kind of stories and stuff. But
isn't that how we've kind of become as a society,
Like that's how everything works these days?
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Yeah? Does that mean it's good?
Speaker 5 (10:27):
I don't think it's good at all.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
But uh, I think and to be fair, I've never
cared if the athletes talk. I don't care if the
coaches talk. I don't care if anybody talks. One thing
I got tod in radio by Doug Hurt, the Late
and Great. He told me years ago that all that
matters is you. Everything else has to be greatly secondary.
Trust yourself because you can count on yourself. But but yeah,
(10:49):
I don't care if the if the players talk at all,
I think most of them are stupid to have very
little to say.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
Well, I agree, but uh, I think it's I think
it's just why society is going. I don't know if
the news itself went that way, or sports news started
that way, or went first, or what.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Well, honestly, it started when politicians tell lies and presented
as truth. That's what all started. Because if you if
you don't tell the truth and you don't get called
on it enough, then then you know, you could just
say whatever you want in whatever form you want because
nobody will nobody will you know, say you're lying. And
(11:28):
that's what's happening.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
That's my question is do you think let me?
Speaker 1 (11:33):
I mean, I I hate to say this because I
just got done stirring the crap on this.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Did you watch Trump's address last night?
Speaker 1 (11:42):
No, like, almost every single thing in it was bs,
almost every single thing. But he's got, you know, his
corner saying that he's a genius and it's right and
he's being honest, but he's not.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
Thank you for the call.
Speaker 6 (11:58):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
Anyway, here's this story. This waitress.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
At this barbecue place called Still City smo coos no
idea where it is. These four customers sent their food
back twice, got eight drink refills, made her rehearse the
specials quote unquote with more enthusiasm, and complained that the
barbecue sauce wasn't spiritually resonating. Now she didn't get mad,
(12:28):
and there's a picture of her here. She's kind of hot.
But then when she got to build the tab was
one hundred and sixty eight bucks. They left zero tip
and wrote, you didn't enhance our dining experience. So she
went to the back where the restaurant store equipment. She
returned with a leaf blower and went after them with
(12:49):
a leaf blower like I guess used the leaf blower
to propel hot air and just disturb and dishovel them
and kind of escort them out the door.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
And she was yelling, get uplifted.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Then napkins everywhere, sauce cups everywhere. Their head flew back
like it was a wind tunnel. It's said here somebody else.
She's there frying the customers. That's just tremendous. One hundred
and sixty eight bucks. What's a twenty percent tip? One
(13:23):
hundred sixty eight bucks? Like thirty two bucks? Jordan, if
you contact me and we can be shortshoo, I will
tip you the thirty two bucks on behalf of these jerks,
because you did the right thing. I always tip, I
almost always overtip. In fact, if I tip you the
standard fifteen percent, that means you gave crappy service. I
(13:46):
usually tip between twenty and twenty five percent, So that's
just an hilarious story. But you know, it's a lot

Well if one buddy betating Dusty Road Tomican Dream, so
be it baby.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
The X at one oh five nine, Steelers with a
very tough game at Detroit Sunday afternoon, joining me how
to talk about it? He covers the team for the
post because that he's Jerry Doulak, Jerry Uh. We've been
told that Nick Herbing didn't practice today, and we knew
wat's gonna be out. They signed Jeremiah Moon as a
third edge rusher. What will the deployment be like, who's
(15:44):
gonna play how much?
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Well?
Speaker 6 (15:47):
Mark, I think Jeremiah Moon will actually be behind the
Marvin Leale. But I think the fact that they sign
uh Jeremiah Moon from the Panthers practice squad points up
that both of those two guys aren't going to play
on Sunday. So yeah, you know, you're talking about your
two leading sack guys, although I say that and their
(16:09):
best guy of late has been Alex Heismith, who's played
very very well and has been very disruptive in imposing backfield.
So yeah, and you're talking about a team that could
run it both ways. Power with David Montgomery and jam
Jamier Gibs, you, I think is as good as any
running back, if not the best running back in the league.
And I know what Jonathan Taylor does, So yeah, that's
(16:32):
gonna that's gonna be a tough task for them, but
especially because Detroit Lions can throw the ball too. Now,
I know Jared Goff isn't having the same type of
year he had last year, nor are the Lions, but
they're still very good. He's an extremely accurate, high percentage passer,
he has good outside guys. He misses his tight end
(16:52):
Sam Laporter, who was injured for the season about four
or five games ago, but they could score points. And
I think, yeah, while the defense wants to be able
to kind of limit that, I think this is a
game where the Steeler offense is going to have to
play kind of like they have the past two games,
and they're going to have to score points to win
this game.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
Yeah, I agree. I mean, let's play spin the Wheel,
make the deal gear. How many points will it take
for the Steelers to be Detroit? I said twenty eight,
just to be in it.
Speaker 6 (17:20):
I'm with you, Mark, That's where I have it. If
they're going to win the game, you know, and I
think what you're going to see and probably need to see.
And I've noticed this on road games and these types
of games, just like the Baltimore game, I think you'll
see the Steelers come out aggressive. I don't think you'll
see them coming out and playing passively, trying to stay
in the game or anything not. At this point, I
(17:43):
think they have confidence in their offense. And you saw
the way they attack from the get go I in
Baltimore and this game being in Detroit, you know, a
little different than what we saw against Miami. But they
also played a little different coverage. But you know, going
on the road, I think you know we've seen Mike
Tomlin how about going for it on fourth down three
(18:03):
times the other day. That's that's kind of a rarity
for him. But when they get in games like this
on the road, they don't. They tend not to back down.
They come out and I think you'll see them attacking
like they did a couple of weeks ago in Baltimore.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
I do too, But can they win a shootout?
Speaker 1 (18:21):
I know they can't force a rock, but we're agreed
on that, and I think that's the most logical thing
to try to score him. And Detroit is missing I
think three of their starting four defensive backs.
Speaker 6 (18:31):
Correct, well, yeah, Mark, And that's the other thing. I mean,
the Lions defense hasn't exactly been shut down this year,
and so I think I think the Steelers can have
some success throwing the ball. And when you look at
some of the guys you know in their in their
secondary former Steelers like Arthur Mallett that they rely on,
(18:53):
then I think, so those guys are better. I think
you can have some success throwing the football. And look,
Aaron Rodgers had a lot of success against the Lions.
I'm sure those Lions fans hate seeing him, and you know,
and he didn't get the chance to go back in
Chicago to play the team he tormented the most. Well,
the team he tormented the most after Chicago is a Lion.
(19:17):
I'm sure he's looking forward to try and do it again.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Will Gibb has been tougher to stop than a chain
and the Lions that Montgomery too, That's a very potent
running attack.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
Yeah, Mark, And that's what I was saying. Between those two,
you know, it's got you have a hammer like David
Montgomery who's just hard to get on the ground, and
you have Jamiir Gibbs who is just so quick, so fast,
and is strong for his size as well. That's why
I think he's probably you know, I look, I mean,
I know the Saquon Barkley out there, but Gibbs is
as good as any running back in the league. He's
(19:49):
certainly as dangerous. And yeah, I mean that's you have
two guys like that, and so all the Steelers, you know,
have six last week. And I say, you know, I
say that with a little trepidation, Mark, because the Dolphins
ran the ball in the first half. They were getting
four or five six every time they ran the ball,
(20:10):
but they had to get away from it. Steelers did
a better job, of course, and they ended up holding
him to sixty three yards, which is what one hundred
and thirty yards fewer than their previous four games one
ninety two. So we saw them do a good job
against Jonathan Taylor, we saw them do a good job
against Josh Jacobs. Even the Bears, who was a number
(20:31):
one rushing team in the NFC at the time and
I think they're now number one. They did a pretty
good job against them, holding them the ninety nine yards,
which was like sixty five yards below their average. So
I think in these types of games, I know what
Baltimore did. I'm well aware of it. Baltimore always seems
to do it. But that's going to be a big
key for them. But I still think Detroit's going to
(20:52):
make their hay trying to throw the ball, you know,
in the Dome with Jared Goff in a game they
know they have to win to even keep their playoff hopes.
Speaker 7 (21:02):
A lot.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
Yeah, I agree, And I'm a big golf fan.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
I think that trade of quarterbacks with LA and Detroit
actually benefited both teams.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
Golf seems underrated to me.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
Jerry definitely a top ten quarterback, maybe closer to top five
this year than people want to give him credit for.
Speaker 6 (21:18):
Yeah, and I think Mark and again, he hasn't played
as well this year as he did last year, but
you know, losing his tight end certainly didn't help. But
I'm with you. I think he you know, underrated, underappreciated,
whatever it is. I mean, he's a top tier quarterback,
and especially at home. And I agree with you. I
(21:42):
think that trade benefited both teams. Certainly, we saw the
Rams win the Super Bowl with Stafford, and Jared Goff
has had a better career with the Lions than he
did with the Rams.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
We're talking to Jerry Dulac at the post because that
Jerry broughtwist by bud Blite, easy to drink, easy to enjoy.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
Jerry.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
I might be asking a lot here, but I've been
saying that the Steelers want to show their legit. They
need to win out and finish eleven and six, build
some real romanum, And if you look at the teams
they're playing, I don't think that's impossible.
Speaker 6 (22:13):
Mark, I agree, and to your point about proving they're legit.
That's why I think this game wrong when I say
it's not important, because they could lose this game and
still accomplish what they want to accomplish. But I think
what this game does. I think this game is telling
if after these past two games where they've gone into
Baltimore and won when they had to and then come
(22:37):
back and dominate the Miami Dolphins, Aaron Rodgers having one
of the best games really of his career in that weather,
if they could go into Detroit and beat a desperate
Lions team that can throw the ball and run the ball.
I think that's going to tell you something about this
football team. And I think it changes the narrative of
this football team. You know that maybe they're better than
(23:00):
people think. And I'm not sitting here telling you if
they win, they're a super Bowl team. But I think
all of a sudden, now it kind of validates what
they did the previous two games. It's three in a row,
and I think it'll get a lot of people's attention
if they go in there win for the third week
in a row and beat the lines, and all of
a sudden, I think people say, wait a minute, maybe
(23:20):
this team is a little better uh than people thought.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Is Rogers a zen master or was he a wacko?
I think it's a fine line, and I really do wonder.
Speaker 6 (23:33):
Mark. I will tell you this, at least about Aaron Rodgers.
He's a highly intelligent guy. And I don't mean just
on the football field, and you and you could just
tell when you're around him, and you could tell by
talking to the other players, uh, you know when when
based on the conversations they have with him. You know,
some of some of those great thinkers, you know, they're
(23:55):
they're little borderlines sometimes they're out there. But I think
he's probably more or zen master than than what was
the other word you used, wacko, whack same thing. I
will tell you this, I enjoy listening to him talk,
and I enjoy listening to him talk in person because
there's something about him that the r with him. His eyes,
(24:16):
these these rye grins, you know, the messages that he's conveying,
you know, between the lines, and yeah, I think I
think he's a He's a fascinating guy, uh to listen to,
and if you're around him enough and pay attention to
what he's saying. I think some of his comments, like
I said, what they're laced with the things that are
(24:38):
unsaid are better than the things that are said.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
I have a hard time evaluating exactly how he's playing.
I look at that went over Miami. I thought he
was very efficient. It was mostly vanilla, really flavorful vanilla,
like the carton of briars just got cracked open. He's
hardly been spectacular, but and I hate intangibles, Jerry, but
there's just something about him.
Speaker 6 (25:01):
I would argue that he was borderline spectacular in Baltimore
with those long passes, and I mean the accuracy and
of course eighty five percent completion percentage in that weather.
The other day, I mean, you gotta have to give
him credit. But here's what I see from Aaron Rodgers
the past two games. Unlike the Buffalo game where he
(25:21):
was coming back with the cast on his hand for
the first time, he didn't play the week before, and
he looked like a guy who was kind of discombobulated.
It's hard to say out of sync, out of rhythm,
but he didn't look very comfortable. But from the first
pass in Baltimore to the last snap against the Dolphins,
he has been in complete control of that offense. And
(25:43):
that's what I've noticed the past two games. You know,
at the line of scrimmage, his throws, knowing when to
obviously to throw it away, even right down to that
sack that he took, he knew he had to stay
in bounds, he gets on the ground, he's been around.
They want the clock to keep rolling. Things like that.
That's why he has turned it over in the last
four games and six of the last seven. So when
(26:05):
you could just tell when he's out there, he's in
command of that offense. And that's what I've seen more
than anything these past two games.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
What is the wide receiver depth chart right now? Numbers one, two,
and three obviously DK number one.
Speaker 6 (26:20):
Yeah, I mean you're seeing Calvin Austin continue to play.
And you know, Mark, You've heard me say many times,
they're not caught up in the numbers. Who's who's I mean,
who's one, we know, but then they don't get caught
up in who's two, three, and four. But we are
seeing Calvin Austin still stay on the field. But you know,
when I saw Adam Feelin play twenty five snaps two
(26:41):
games ago in Baltimore, when he practiced really only one
day with the team getting a crash course on Friday,
that told me that they want to get this guy
in the lineup. And we saw that again. You know,
against the Dolphins, we saw Scantling get involved with a
touchdown catch, which I thought was big for him and
(27:01):
big for Arthur Smith to convince h you know, show
him that, look, maybe this guy can be, you know,
an effective part of what they do. But you're seeing
all those guys play and it's just who's who's being involved. Now,
we haven't seen a lot of Calvin Austin involvement. But
(27:23):
what we are seeing, of course, is the regular involvement
with the tight end, thank goodness. A couple more passes
to Pat Fronmouth the other day and a lot of
passes to Kenny Gainwell, who I believe leaves the team
and has led the team and receiving each of the
last three games. A lot of targets, a lot of catches,
a lot of production. So you know, you're seeing a
lot of the you know, quote secondary receivers, tight ends
(27:45):
and running backs being more involved in the wide receivers.
But you know, Aaron Rodgers has said he wants to
get the ball more to DK metcalf. I think he
only had three targets the other day, but three catches
and a couple of four or five games ago he
was targeted twelve times. Number one receivers mark need to
be targeted. In my opinion, minimum eight times a game.
(28:06):
Just keep throwing to them, find a way to get
them the ball, make make defenses adjust. I think three
targets the DK Metcalf isn't enough. But then again, I
don't think DK Metcalf is justin Jefferson or Jamar Chaseason.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
Why the defense do better against Miami and even to
my mind hit harder than they had all year.
Speaker 6 (28:28):
Yeah, Mark, they they the Baltimore game was was hard hitting,
was aggressive though, too, And so I think the past
two games, you know, I don't know if it was
Hey boys, this is December, and we don't want the
same thing that happened last year. Uh, you know in
December happened again this year. But I you know, I
(28:51):
think I think the cold had something to do with
it with the Dolphins. I don't think it's a huge factor,
but you know, you can't ignore the fact that Taglabai
loa Is has never won a game when the temperature
is under forty five degrees. Now in the fourth quarter
at the end, you know, garbage time, that was when
he looked his best passed through FO one hundred and
(29:11):
seventy six of is what two hundred and forty five yards,
But you know, the Steelers are playing soft, they're sitting back,
but you know that probably had something to do with
it as well. But I think the fact too, Mark,
for the first time this season, the Steelers ran more
plays in the opposition sixty two to forty eight, and
it basically on average has been the exact opposite for
(29:34):
how many games do they play fourteen, so it's been
the exact opposite for thirteen other games this year.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
Yeah, I thought winning time of possession is a definite
step in the right direction and was a factor in
that game, not winning a jerry, but perhaps being well,
I don't want to say easy, but bit a comfortable win.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Finally, where's the season going to go from here?
Speaker 1 (29:52):
We're in agreeance that they need to keep the momentum
going if they're going to be serious people in the playoffs.
Speaker 6 (30:00):
Well, Mark, I think you know, that's kind of what
we're going to find out. But I think the signs
or at least, you know, pointing in a positive direction.
And I say that because this time last year, you know,
they were in their three game what turned out to
be five games, but their three game downward spiral with
those three losses in eleven days and in the past
(30:20):
two December games they've won them both. So last year,
while they were descending this year, so far, they're ascending
in December. And I think that's probably the most positive
thing that we're seeing. And if you want to look
at what possibly can happen, that's probably the best sign
that you know, when if you're looking for, Okay, what
can this team do? That's the most positive sign you're
(30:43):
going to see. And then we'll see now if it
can continue again, Mark, Look, they can lose, they can
lose against the Lions. They could actually lose their next
two games, and the Ravens can win their next two games.
And if the Steelers beat the Ravens, they're still the
division champs. Now, I know they don't want to do that.
You know, they go to Cleveland after this. They can
afford to lose this game. They are certainly not looking
(31:04):
at it that way. But so I just think this game, though,
if they can go in there and win, like I said,
can be very telling the people. But okay, who is
this football team? Maybe they are better than a lot
of us are giving them credit for.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
Jerry, great stuff. Enjoy the game.
Speaker 7 (31:20):
We'll talk next week, all right, Marke, you got it,

should be.

Diesel lax lubricity that can lead to fuel system phil
you're costing them.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
A lot of funny stuff has those tastes, like, for example,

ass mark anything brought to us by People's Natural Gas,
People's in es Sense Utilities Company, People's Hyphengas dot Com.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
Let's go to Malone. Malone, ask Mark anything.
Speaker 6 (33:38):
Hey, Mark, I just watched the movie.
Speaker 5 (33:41):
The Iron Claw and I was wondering what your thoughts
are on it.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
I thought it was really good.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
I mean it had Zach Effern and wrestling tights, and
he's my guy.
Speaker 2 (33:48):
Crush uh.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
A lot of it was fiction designed to kind of
prop up the von Eric legacy, but.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
It was really good and I have always.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
Felt great sympathy for the Erics, not least Kevin played
by Ephren, the last surviving member among the brothers, because
that just was tough, the way that all went, and
the stuff about how big world class was there was
in Broston, Texas, and how it rose and just fell
apart so quickly. That was all very accurate. So I think,
(34:20):
overall a very well done movie. Let's go to Kevin
in North Carolina.
Speaker 7 (34:25):
Hey, Mark, wondering if In and Out Burger is the
greatest fast food burger ever?
Speaker 1 (34:31):
Not even close. I think it's the most overrated fast
food burger ever. Why are you laughing?
Speaker 6 (34:38):
Are they in Vegas?
Speaker 2 (34:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (34:39):
They in Vegas.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
Yeah, I've had it, and not.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
I think Carl's Junior is better in Vegas, and that's hard.
He's here in Pittsburgh at least it was till the
only location closed in Millville. If you call five Guys
fast food, I think that's a better burger. I think
Wendy's is a better burger burger, king isn't McDonald's isn't.
But I think five Guys is way overrated. Let's go
(35:06):
to Drew and Dormant.
Speaker 8 (35:07):
Drew Mark, I agree with you that Trump he's bad,
But why would your opinion on a president be credible
when you insulted?
Speaker 2 (35:20):
Not gonna talk about that today. Who do I insult? Legendary?
What Brunos? Sam Martino? Yeah, right, that's relevant. Let's go
to Sam and Dorman, Sam ask Mark anything?
Speaker 7 (35:29):
Yeah, super genius. What's the press box like now without
Brian Burke?
Speaker 4 (35:36):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (35:36):
Yeah? Burkey?
Speaker 1 (35:40):
His behavior was erratic sometimes put it that way. I mean,
I thought Burkey did a terrible job in Pittsburgh. I
think he's the son of a bitch as a human being,
just a bully and a creep. So I don't miss
him at all. Let's go to Steve. Steve ask Mark anything.
Speaker 7 (35:57):
I want to wish you happy holidays.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
Great.
Speaker 7 (36:00):
A lot of people think you're scrooge, but you're actually
this week, I've met you many times. But anyway, my
question is did you ever want to have a brother
or sister or did you relish being king of the hill.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
I liked being king of the hill. I liked being
doted on by my mother. And my grandmother and my aunt.
I do wish I had a kid now, though I
wish I had, you know, I mean, I've never really
been attached to a partner, and I really don't regret that.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
But I wish I had a kid.
Speaker 1 (36:24):
I wish I had had that relationship, And honestly, I
wish I had somebody potentially to take care of me.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
As I go and decline. I think that'd be fair.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
I think that'd be karma because I took care of
my mother as her primary caregiver and my grandmother as
her secondary caregiver. Not that I did that for anything
other than being its own reward and a good son
and a good grandson.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
But that's the one regret I do have. Let's go
to a talkback.
Speaker 10 (36:51):
Well, and do you have any pet peeves or hate
things that people do?
Speaker 1 (36:55):
Like?
Speaker 10 (36:55):
I hate when they stand the entire time at sports
games or concerts. I also hate pounding on a glass
at hockey games.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
How about you.
Speaker 2 (37:07):
I have a ton of pet peeves.
Speaker 1 (37:09):
I hate pretty much everything and everybody, but I hate
when people close to the stage and the concert stand.
If you're in the first row, why would just stand?
And if you didn't stand in the first row, they
wouldn't need to stand in the second row, and so
on and so forth. It's why more and more as
I get older, I sit in the balcony because you
(37:31):
don't gotta stand. So yeah, that's that's probably the closest
thing to a pet peeve. I just don't understand that, especially,
you know, with these heritage bands where the audience is
so old, Why would you stand if you're that old.
Speaker 2 (37:46):
Let's go to a talkback.
Speaker 6 (37:49):
More.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
What makes people think that this current Steelers team is
anything close to the five super Bowl team?
Speaker 3 (37:57):
And do you personally have that belief?
Speaker 2 (38:00):
No, I don't personally have that belief.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
That was a team on the rise with the twenty
three year old Ben Roethlisberger. This is a team that's
in decline, is old, and as a quarterback who could
turn to dust. Despite that, he's you know, doing a
pretty good job at least recently.
Speaker 2 (38:15):
Let's go to Eric. Eric, Askmark anything.
Speaker 7 (38:19):
W he My question is how many times have you
seen get the Letout?
Speaker 6 (38:25):
And are you going to see them?
Speaker 1 (38:27):
I've seen Get the Letout probably sixteen seventeen times, and
I will be seeing them both nights January second and third,
I believe at the Palace Theater in Greensburg.
Speaker 2 (38:39):
No doubt on debt one, five, nine.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
The X
