Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
I keeping a bunch of people saying, could you imagine
this offense with Pickens? It'll be worse. He wouldn't get
the numbers. It'd be a distraction. Do you want to
win or do you want to play Fantasy League? But
a lot of guys who do this job, a lot
of guys in talk radio, especially in this town, their
whole outlook is based on betting and fantasy league as
(00:24):
opposed to playing winning football. I understand that winning football is,
and George Pickens doesn't play it. Antonio bron didn't play it.
Leveon Bell didn't play it. We got Phil Burk at
the bottom of the hour. If I get there, my
throat is killing me. You'd be doing me a great
(00:44):
service if you called in a three, three, four one
two w XDX. The PEG was lost to New York
Rangers on Saturday at PPG six to one, Wow, six
to one, and now head out to Cali for three games.
The PEG was actually got off to a good startup
(01:06):
PPG on Saturday. Kindle scored his first NHL goal to
make it one one, but the Penguins then got sloppy
by way of maybe being two full of themselves. After
winning the first two games, overpassing it. Kind of a
nod back to last year. That's why I wouldn't for
(01:27):
sure would not play sind rustin raquel together. They played
by Rhodes. Put a kid with those guys. They tried
different stuff. I'd played kindle with Sin and whoever coved
and if they call him back up with Sid and whoever?
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Sin Gino had zero shots after two periods, just one each.
On the game, Sid was minus three and that's okay.
He's out there a ton. He gets bad matchups. There's
gonna be nights like that. I talked to.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Mike Sullivan after kind of brief not cold but not warm.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Hey, I know Sully was mad because I criticized him
down the stretch of his tenure here and thought he
should go. And I stand by that he needed to go.
He got a nice ovation the for the tribute video.
Uh it definitely should have duh. And I'm forever grateful
to Mike Selivan, who's a real good guy because he
(02:24):
wont to Stanley Couch for the team I've supported since
I was a boy. But YO, with my business, if
I'm doing the job right, that's how it ends with
every coach, every coach. I'm always gonna do an honest show.
Let's go to Alex Aleix show with double M What
(02:46):
up me?
Speaker 5 (02:49):
So I'm kind of with you on kind of the
Penguin start to the season. I kind of figured this
is how it would go. They'd have like kind of
a jolt from the young kids and then kind of
settled back in to where they were.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
I think that'll be odd and off, but yeah, we
certainly have seen a bit of that in the first
three games.
Speaker 5 (03:08):
Yeah, and Mike Sullivan coming back. He got every he
got the ovation. He should have two cups, most wins
in the history of the franchise as a coach. I
am grateful to him because, like you, have supported this
team since I was a kid, and I thought that
they did it very classically. I just wish they didn't
blow the Penguins out six to one.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
I'm a big Selley fan, but he stayed too long.
And one thing about Dan Muse, he's a good coach.
He won't coach this team good enough to make the
playoffs this year, I don't think. But it's not stale anymore.
If Sully was here, they'd be doing the same things
the players would be hearing the same things, doing the
same things. This is just better and that's very evident already.
(03:52):
Let's go to Dutch dutchow with double M.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Hey, thanks, super genius, right, first time caller, a long
time listener. I just wanted to say, sorry, you're under
the weather. And I don't mind watching George Pickens do
his thing in another team's uniform. I enjoy the highlights
and I'm glad he's off the team.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Yeah, you're not gonna win with him. I don't care
what his numbers are. But seriously, a lot of guys
who do what I do, they based so much of
what they opened on betting and fantasy football.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Yeah, I can't speak to that. I only watch football
on TV. That's just as far as my knowledge of
it goes. But I'm gonna die hard when it comes.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
To that fantasy football.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Fantasy football can't increase your knowledge of the game.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
It can also warp it.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
I get that, I get that. Yeah, I just I
just think Pickings reached a point where.
Speaker 5 (04:47):
He was uncoachable.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
It'll reach that point there too, for sure. Thank you
for the call, Dutch. I like that named Dutch. Okay,
we got Phil Bourd at the bottom of the hour
and get your calls it now. I want to hear
from pet State fans. Should Frank could have been fired
one oh five ninety.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
X exit one. All right, get your calls in because
my throat is killing me.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
A three three four one two wxdx A three three
four one two wxdx. We got Phil Bourg joined me
at the bottom of the hour. I liked how the
Steelers played yesterday. I just don't think that approach with
defense uber Ales is gonna win playoff games. I don't
think it's gonna beat good teams. I don't think it's
(05:36):
gonna come from me high against pretty much any team
once you're down by more than one score. Consider this.
The only time this year they were down by more
than one score. That was the Seattle game and they
lost it. I'm not trying to be Wie Donner. If
I was a take a healthy on I said that earlier.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
Do you got what?
Speaker 2 (05:58):
I just don't see it as an depressive four and one.
I didn't see it as an oppressive game yesterday, despite winning.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
That's what you always see. Well, it doesn't matter if
you win, Oh sure it does, Sure it does.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
You got to put yourself in a position to keep
winning and to win in playoff games, and to be
good teams, not just to win this week, but to
win more and to win enough. But you like, and
I like, and they like especially that every game means something,
and right now they are and they're probably going to
all season. Let's go to the inser line, ins are line.
(06:35):
You're all with double M.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
What's up?
Speaker 4 (06:40):
Sexy?
Speaker 6 (06:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (06:43):
So, as a Penn State alum and a diehard fan, Franklin,
I do think had to go. And the reason being
is is not just because they lost those games, but
because of how bad and toxic it was getting, you know,
with the fans.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
And Okay, the fans don't the fans don't matter. The
fans don't matter. Fans are always gonna be toxic when
you lose. Their opinion doesn't matter at all to me anyway.
Speaker 7 (07:11):
Yeah, yeah, I get that.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
I just mean, the minute you start making decisions, not
least on who your coach is, based on what the
fans want, you're screwed.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
I get it.
Speaker 7 (07:23):
It just seemed like Franklin himself was even checked out
towards the end, Like when they lost on Saturday, he
couldn't even give them a straight answer on whether or
not he still wanted to be the coach when he
was asked in the press conference.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
Well, I think that's because he had already been told.
I think he had already been told he was done.
Speaker 7 (07:38):
Okay, fair enough, I do think he had to be fired.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
But why why where's it go from here?
Speaker 7 (07:45):
But I mean, I mean, the results, who even again?
Speaker 4 (07:49):
Who even again?
Speaker 7 (07:51):
I can't give you a name off the top of
my head. There's plenty of candidates out there.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
Ye, name one you think you can get.
Speaker 7 (07:59):
I mean, Matt Role is going to be the obvious one.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Right, yeah, yeah, yeah, the AD's buddy. That'd be great, buddy,
system higher, fantastic.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Yeah. I don't know.
Speaker 5 (08:11):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (08:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
See, I don't think they're going to do better. I
don't think they're gonna get Kurt Signetti.
Speaker 7 (08:17):
To you, No, I don't think Signette would leave what
he has. He's built, He's built something too great. I mean,
they'll they'll practically build him a statue in Bloomington at.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Ye you you know, I mean you know they won
thirteen games last year, Penn State, ten the year before that,
eleven the year before that he's only had one losing
season in twelve. Is that really a guy you want
to get rid of?
Speaker 7 (08:40):
It just felt like you could never reach the heights.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Yeah, you're not gonna. You're not gonna. You're never going
to reach the heights you want. It's not that kind
of program. Sorry, but that's true. It's been proven for decades.
You're not that kind of team anymore.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
I don't agree, but well you'll I'm right, you're wrong.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Then let me tell you something. I'll be proven right
and you in Penn State, we'll regret firing this guy guaranteed.
Let's go to h Lewis Lewis showing Mark what up man?
Speaker 4 (09:08):
What up?
Speaker 7 (09:09):
Man?
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Hey? I just wanted to say, I hope you feel better.
Not a Penn State fan, but I'm glad to see
them fire Franklin, glad to see them in disarray. And
just like that last caller, they think all these head
coaches want their job really bad. I don't think they're
going to get a top tier head coach. Why would
anybody go there? And with those expectations would be a
(09:30):
death sentence.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
No, Matt Roll's just some guy. He's the AD's buddy.
It's Buddy System. It's a bad hire. You'd have rather
kept Franklin than hiring Matt Role.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
I didn't like Matt Role when he was at Baylor,
Orth Carolina now Nebraska, but I hope he goes there
because he would fail.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
That's the spirit. Thank you for the call.

dropping down to an overnight low of forty nine should
be a really nice day tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (11:19):

The Pumpkins Spice. Lotte is back at Starbucks. He is
Mark Maddens.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Yeah, Mark, Welcome show. Well by one Undy, been hitting
Dusty Road, Domican Dream, So be It Baby the X
at one O five nine joining me now Penguins in
Cara and California for three games this week after starting
the season two and one. He has two Stanley Cup rings.
He's the old two niner Color analyst Phil Bourke board team.
(11:47):
We've seen a lot since we talked last week. What
went right in the two wins and what went wrong
Saturday in that six to one loss to New York.
Speaker 8 (11:55):
Yeah, because that's doing mister Matt You okay you playing injured?
Speaker 4 (11:59):
Yeah, playing hurt. But I'll get through it.
Speaker 8 (12:02):
Okay, Well, all right, all right, I'm thinking about you.
What what went well? The first two games? I thought
the Penguins their energy, their speed, their youth, goaltending, special
teams were all on point. I just thought they they
played a very cerebral game. They played situational hockey, you know,
depending on what the score was, what the situation was,
(12:24):
and they had good starts in the hockey games, both
of them, really, and I thought it was a carryover.
I know, the preseasons different. You have a lot of
guys going in and out, but they did win five
straight to finish off the preseason. And what I'm looking
for from this hockey team that I saw the first
couple of games and really those games, you know, ending
the preseason schedule, was do they have a blueprint? Did
(12:45):
they know how to win on a consistent basis? And
I think dan Mus has started to build the foundation
of that blueprint and put certain things in place as
far as their system and how they're going to play
in the style they're going to play. I thought it
was all there. What happened in the game against the
Rangers at the other night, it was almost a complete opposite.
(13:05):
They had some chances early on just Cirkin was really good,
as you would expect him to be. But I thought
that short handed goal against really kind of set them
back on their heels a little bit, and I was
really disappointed that they didn't take it to another level
after Ben Kindall scored his first NHL goal. So I
don't put a lot of weight into that game because
I can't think of one really good thing I liked,
(13:27):
except that they had some chances early on, they didn't
Solvestrkin and the Rangers got to their game. I just
felt like the Penguins just they didn't have their fastball.
They didn't have their a game against the Rangers. I
don't know why. I'm not going to make excuses that,
you know that they were, you know, distracted by Mike
Salvin being there the first time. I'm not going to
buy into that. I just think they just didn't have
(13:48):
their best game. So that's what makes the game tomorrow
night against Anaheim really curious for me to see if
they can bounce back and do all those things they
did the first two games, they got them to the
two wins.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
What's your take on Bernick and Kindle so far?
Speaker 8 (14:04):
I think they're playing like they want to stay here.
That's what I'm seeing. I'll start with Kindle first. It's remarkable.
We haven't seen this since probably Jordan Stall right mark
forward as an eighteen year old being an impactful player,
and his skill and his speed are just so evident.
It's consistent that he's very noticeable on the ice. The
(14:27):
goal that he scored against the circ and I still
don't know if a hit a defenseman stick or not,
but he just don't beat the circuit from outside the
dot like that, especially short side glove side, and he
did because he shot the fucking full flight. Also, he
seems fearless, you know a little bit of Jake Gentsel
on him, right Mark that he'll go to the front
of the net, he'll go on the corner with Matt
(14:49):
Rempe at six foot nine, and he understands, I can't
put myself in a position to get absolutely annihilated here.
And he uses his leverage and he uses his smarts
and his feet to get to loose pucks and as
far as Bruneck Brunus, he's an exceptional hockey player. The
smarts number one jump out to me that he thinks
(15:09):
the game at next level. He's got great instincts and
when to jump up. Does he have some things to
work on defensively as far as you know, angling and
and things like that, and you know, a better stick
stick on pucking the defensive zone. Those things will come.
I'm not worried about that. But he's a next level
player and you know, to be that young again, a
(15:30):
nineteen year old to think the game at the next level,
to self evaluate himself. And even though he makes mistakes,
the next shift, he's not rattled. You know, they don't
compound themselves where he's you know, take them three or
four shifts to recover from a bad turnover. The next
shift usually goes out and the goal he scored, you know,
came off for his previous shift was not great. He
(15:52):
came out the next shift and scored a goal. So
both of them are playing like we're not here for
the nine game audition, which to be here for the
whole season.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
What's your take on the goaltending So far?
Speaker 8 (16:05):
Goaltending has been good, well, Golding has been really good.
You know, that game against the Islanders for Tristan Jarry.
I don't know if people I know. I know people
have hurt feelings with Tristan Jarry because of his inconsistency.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
I get it.
Speaker 8 (16:18):
But that game against the Islanders, he made so many
saves in that game that allowed the Penguins to either
hang around or you know, to get the victory and
go back to that brunic gold that I was talking about.
Thirty seconds earlier, he made an incredible save on Jay
g Pagot that would have made a three to one
Islanders if not for that. It was later Brunus scores
(16:41):
makes the two two crowd into it, teams into it,
and they're on their way. So I think Tristan Jarry's
looked really, really good so far. Again, that game against
the Rangers was she lost, he lost, didn't look great,
the whole team didn't look great. Again, I can easily
flush those kind of games when you know, you look
at the next game and they bounced right back. So
I think there's a nice, healthy competition between the two.
(17:03):
I don't think you can say either one is clearly
the number one goalie so far early on it's too early.
I think both of them are fighting for the net,
and I wouldn't be surprised if they kind of alternate
back and forth here in the first twenty games to
see who wants to take the net a little bit more.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
I like them alkin line worky. How about you three
six foot five guys including Gino. It's not the speed
Geno's usually play with, but it's a different look and
I think it's working right now.
Speaker 8 (17:30):
Yeah, it is. I'm still waiting for Anthony Manson to
get to a next level, but he's been good. He's
been complementary on that line. I know there's the next
level for Anthony Manton, but in the meantime, Justin Bursau
has really jumped off the ice of you. Not only
because of the goals, that's the obvious thing, but he's
doing a lot of other things and he's just playing
with so much confidence. And I remember when he was
(17:50):
at Boston Bruin or even the short time he was
the Minnesota wild player, he just kind of blended in
you all. And it's hard for a guy that six
foot six to blend in, but he did Buser, so
don't expect that from him. You go all the way
back to his junior career that you know, his last
year for the North Bay Battalion, he scored sixty one goals,
but I think he only had forty pins, you know,
so he's not that guy. But if you're not going
(18:12):
to be that guy at six foot six, you got
to do the other things like he's feeling, and get
to the front of the net and trading offense with
your size and it's going to goals that you're playing
with Kenny Malkin. And I think Gino's ginos energized. We
start this from Gino last year in the first five games,
he had two goals on eleven points, and he was
leading the National Hockey League. And he's out of the
gate early again. So I hope he doesn't have to
drop off this season mark that he had last year.
(18:35):
After he comes out of the gate hot, and I
think Gino's he's energized. I think that he realizes this
possibly could be his last year as at Pittsburgh Penguin
and instead of kind of having you know, the booboo face,
I think he's feeling like I'm going to empty the
tank and whatever happens at the end of the year
happens if I'm if I get another contract with the Penguins, great,
(18:56):
If I get another contract in the NHL, great. If
I have to go to Magnea bors complaining the KHL great.
I think he plans on playing next year. Just we
don't know if you're going to have a forty year
old on your lineup next year. Even if it is,
it's kidding walking, but I think he's he's playing with
a clear head and not worrying about any of those things.
And just you know, Gino, he's pretty simple, right mark
(19:17):
that when he's when he's in a happy place between
the years and emotionally, which I think he is. I
think that's when you just see galloping Gino and he's
just having fun playing hockeys.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
I'm not huge on the bottom six y just yet.
I see flashes Borkie. I don't see the sustained chaos.
Speaker 8 (19:34):
Yea, I agree, Double, I agree with you. It's it's
something that's definitely on my radar, and it's early on,
but I think you need to see I like Connor Doer.
I think he's a suitable guy. I think he's just
being more from Blake Lazatt Nola Chari. You know guys
like that. You know, where does Phillip Thomasino fit in?
You know, Tommy Novak has got to be another level
(19:55):
for him. You know, we haven't seen much of him,
but he played one game and period or a period
and a half last year the Penguin before he got hurt,
So we don't really know. We know he's a former
first round pick, but that doesn't mean a hill of
beans anymore. I think we're past all that that he's not.
You know, he's not one of those first round picks
that's gonna all of a sudden explode. He's got to
find his niche, right, He's got to find out who
(20:17):
is he, what's his identity? How does he fit in
this hockey team? Because there's a lot of guys either
here in Pittsburgh or down in Wilkesbury that are hungry
to take his job. And I think if he doesn't
get to a next level and doesn't become more noticeable,
I think he's an easy replaceable guy. I think right.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
Now we're talking to Phil Bourg, two times Stanley Cup champion.
Hear him on the Penguins radio network and see him
on sports Net Pittsburgh board game. Uh, you know, it's
not bad on defense? Is this watherspoon? And I'm not
sure why. Maybe that's the idea. Maybe that's why I
think that that's what.
Speaker 8 (20:52):
Actually, that's a great compliment to him, right, Yeah, he's
just solid. Right, He's solid. And I think just as
importantly he fits with Carlson, right, And I you know,
I think that uh, you know, I talked to him
a little bit the other day and he said that
him and Carlson had a little chat before the season,
and you know Ericson Errickson kind of guy that he's
(21:12):
kind of an open book, right it comes to the
way he plays, and he's kind of unapologetic about it.
And I think all this, uh is embracing that role
of Okay, I just need to be the anchor here.
I'm playing with a future Hall of Fame defenseman. And
as long as I'm an anchor and I make him
look better than his last year, I think that's gonna
keep me in a lot. Because if he had a
(21:33):
great opportunity last year at Boston for sixty games because
Hampus lim Holmes got injured, and he took full advantage
of it and he established himself as a solid, you know,
stay at home defenseman, and as long as he's continued
in that role and understands his role, I think he's
gonna be in the lineup night in and night out.
And if it's making Eric Carlson look like a better defenseman, uh,
(21:56):
then I'm all for it. So, yeah, he understands nothing
ancy to his game. He's gotta be good on the PK.
He's got to be physical, and uh, he's just gotta
be that anchor for Carlson.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Now, the Pelets go to Cali for three games. Is
that a good trip to take with younger guys and
so much change this early of the season.
Speaker 8 (22:14):
Yeah, one hundred percent. The guy's talked about it and
and I agree with it. I Mean, I know some
people kind of roll their eyes when it comes to
you know, building chemistry and you know, camaraderie and all
that stuff, but it's it's a real thing. It's you know,
the Penguins, I think they they're opening lineup against the Rangers.
Mark there was a sixty five lineup change from the
(22:37):
opening night the year before against the Rangers on home ice.
So when you've had that much change, it's important to
get out on the road because you really don't go
on the road in the preseason. You travel the afternoon
of the game, you play the game, and you come
right back home again. So to have some days off,
to have some dinners, to have some some laughs and
yuck it up, and some free time and play cards
and all that stuff. You just start chatting and you
(22:58):
get to know a guy. You get to know this
person and his lights and his dislikes. And I think
that stuff's important when it comes to your chemistry that
you have on the ice.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
How has Dan Mused done so far? Uh?
Speaker 2 (23:10):
What do you see him having changed? What's his what's
his impression so far?
Speaker 8 (23:16):
Yeahs, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna get all giddy up,
jump up and down here early because it is too early.
We'll see when things, you know, get rocky, and how
he's able to pull the team out of that and
get them back to their winning ways. But just my
quick observations is and and and I'm using words from
the players that he's organized, he's a great communicator, that
(23:38):
he he's very decisive in what he does in the
delivery of his message. Uh, and he's got a voice
it's a it's a it's a deal. I think this
matters that he's got a presence when he locks in
into the locker room. You know, he's not a big guy,
but he's got a bit of a booming voice, and
he's got a commitment to what he's doing. And I
think when you when you prepare and you go all in,
(24:01):
the players see that you're all in, especially when you're
a guy that never played in the league before, so
you don't have that street cred when you walk into
the locker room. What gives you that respect? What makes
guys stop lacing up their skates when you walk in
the locker room. And as far as the x's and o's,
I think that there's I was talking to Brian Russ
about this the other day that they they play a
(24:22):
man on man. They play a man on man until
they go the player goes above the top of the
circle and then you know, they do a handoff. So
he's kept the game simple, and I think he's trying
to make it fun too, because he's again in practice,
he's he's very hands on and practice, and I think
the guys like that. Not just a new voice, but
I think he's got fresh ideas, whether it's just drills
(24:45):
or ideas or game plan or whatever it is. I
think he's got their attention and he's making the game
fun for the guys.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
Well, no offense to Selly because it was great to
see him when he returned on Saturday. But it's not
stale anymore. It's different, whether it's good, different, bad, different.
I'm just grateful for different right now.
Speaker 8 (25:03):
No, that's fair, And I know we kind of tiptoe
around it, at least I do anyways when it comes
to Selly, you know, because we feel a kind of
a loyalty and everything else. But it was time. I
think at the end of the day, it was time.
And I think, you know, Penguins are better for it.
I think Sally's better for it. I think the players
are better for it. And you know, ten years a
(25:23):
long time to coach and any of the major sports,
and I did. I just felt that his message was
not being received for whatever reason. And you wish him
the best except when he plays the Penguins, and you know,
there's just too many times Mark I saw him walking
off the bench at the end of a game, just
disgusted and just kind of distraught, and he like he was.
(25:46):
He was holding it too heavy on the heart, and
you know that's that's when it's time. And so I'm
glad that it happened for not only Selly, but for
the Penguins.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
Finally, last Thursday, the home opener, that was great. Mario
showed up. He had to get together with Sid, Gino
and Tager afterwards, Gino's kid as well.
Speaker 4 (26:04):
It really is part of what makes the franchise special.
Speaker 8 (26:06):
Isn't it, Amen, doublem Amen. I mean you and I
have talked outside of this show right here just about
the presence of Mario, and man, you just felt like
when he went up on the big screen there, he
just felt like the Penguins are gonna win this game
with the presence of sixty six in the building. And
I hope it happens more. I really do. I hope
it wasn't just a one time thing. I hope it
(26:27):
happens more. And the fans love it, the players love it.
Everybody just loves him being in the building. And I
don't know how comfortable he is with that anymore. I
don't really talk to him about it, but I really
mean that I hope it's more of a regular thing,
because I don't know if he realizes how important his
presence is to this organization, both in the locker room
(26:51):
and in the butts in the butts in the seats.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
No question, Bor gave from your lips to God's ears
and for that matter, to Mario's years. There's really not
much difference between the two and my eyes. Great stuff.
Enjoy the trip to Cali, All.
Speaker 8 (27:02):

Hey, Mark, I got a Jaws question for you.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
Now.
Speaker 6 (28:52):
Despite what a fantastic movie it was, I know that
Spielberg was having issues like with the mechanical Shark, and
he was over budget, behind schedule, and his career was
a jeopardy. And I was wondering if you feel like
that footage that he captured of those great whites in
the wild kind of bailed him out when he pieced
(29:15):
together the whole movie.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
No, I think what bailed him out is the mechanical
shark malfunctioned so often that he was mostly off camera,
which added so much mystery to the shark.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
And in the threat he posed.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
Yeah, yeah, you do got a good point because.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
He says that everybody says that. Thank you the call
lete go to a talkback.
Speaker 4 (29:46):
Yo, Mark Sherry Lowden's er Ricola.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
Hall's I'm a Halls cough drop guy. I'm gonna stop
to get some more on the way home. See if
I can regroup for tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
Broh.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
Here's the thing. I'll be honest. Maybe my boss is listening.
That's okay.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
If I feel like this tomorrow, I can't come in
because I got to try to get better for the trip.
I can't punt on that trip. It's not refundable. You'll
have to get by without me for a day, potentially
maybe two. Let's go to a talkback, hey.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
Mark, this is a tim from Gibsonia.
Speaker 9 (30:20):
Just wanted to know when Steelers will get rid of
pitt out of their stadium.
Speaker 3 (30:25):
That turf was an absolute embarrassment.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
That's not why it's bad pitt did play their last weekend.
That's not the problem. The problem is the people who
take care of it aren't doing a good job. That's
the only conclusion that.
Speaker 4 (30:36):
Can be drawn.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
I know they're gonna get mad at me for saying that,
but what other conclusion could you drop of? The people
taking care of the turf at Akroture are not doing
a good job, period, And I didn't like that. They
like the pit people like Pat Bostak, who I love,
was saying, Oh, it's a hiccup, it's no big deal.
Speaker 4 (30:54):
Let's ask Miles killer Ruf.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
It's a big deal because he blew out his knee
on the turf and he's out for the year, and
he's their best special teams player, So yeah, that's a
big deal.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
You got to do better. You're a major league organization.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
You pretend, and they do pretend that you're one of
the top organization football. But yet that happens, And no
offense to killer Brew there like it was at Boswell,
because it almost was.
Speaker 4 (31:17):
Let's go to Peter Peter, what's up?
Speaker 3 (31:22):
Uh?
Speaker 8 (31:22):
Mark?
Speaker 3 (31:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (31:23):
Hi, I was curious. So you see Juju was assaulted
Sunday night.
Speaker 4 (31:28):
No I didn't see that. What happened?
Speaker 8 (31:32):
He tried to say, some guy's hand on Detroit. The
guy punched him in the face, gave him a bloody
nose canal onto the point a special prosecutor. That guy
should be suspended for a couple of games.
Speaker 4 (31:44):
Who was the guy?
Speaker 8 (31:48):
I can't think of it. I think his name was brand.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
Yes, well you want to prosecute him, I'd like to
buy him a drink. Let's go to a talkback.
Speaker 8 (31:58):
Yeah, hey, Mark, just curio? Is what your favorite kind
of fruit is?
Speaker 9 (32:02):
Is it a banana, grapes, apples, or maybe just something
as simple as some carrot sticks.
Speaker 8 (32:09):
Curious to what your favorite fruit is?
Speaker 7 (32:12):
Looking forward to your answer.
Speaker 4 (32:13):
But character of vegetable, mister nature. You know what I like?
Speaker 2 (32:18):
I get it with breakfast. Sometimes not right now because
I'm on this awaken when eighty diet. But I get
a fruit plate with an omelet for breakfast, like cut
up banana, cut up you know this? That the other thing,
all kinds of cut up, different kinds of fruit, grapes,
you know, plum and stuff like that.
Speaker 4 (32:34):
It's great keyword on our website. Money.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
That's
