Speaker 1 (00:01):
We got calls on the fifteens.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Up next calls on the fifteen works better than three
fifteen than four to fifteen. We'll see how it works here.
I want to have people call up and blame Mason
Rudolph because they were doing that before the game even started,
before the ball got kicked off. As soon as he
threw that pick. They wanted Will Howard to go in.
Maybe I just have a crappy X feed, maybe I follow. Well, no,
(00:25):
I'm looking at you know what I hate the next does.
By the way, Twitter, when they try to figure out
what you would like to see, as opposed to just
giving you tweets from guys shod follow. All I want
is tweet from people I follow. How do they phrase
it for you? You can have for you or following,
(00:47):
and they just shifted randomly for you. I don't want
for you. I want who I'm following, period. But yeah,
the Twitter verse, at least yesterday was blaming Mason Rudolph.
And I don't think he played great, but I don't
think he lost the game. I think coaching and defense.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Lost the game. End oh story. And you know, as
far as Rudolph goes, you got to bring money into
the mix.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
I got told that Darius Slay got to play because
they're paying him so much money.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (01:17):
I think ten million dollars in a one year deal.
I don't think that should have anything to do with
who plays, because guys signed contracts, they get paid what
they get paid, whether they play or not. But if
you want to bring money into it, allow me.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
TJ.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Watt signed an extension three years, one hundred and twenty
three million. He has seven sacks, tied for sixteenth in
the league. And when it comes to Miles Garrett, TJ.
Watt can taste the urine because Miles is pissing all
over him.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Cam.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
The last deal he signed three years forty five, Mili
kept lining holding in each of the last two training camps.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
He has a sack and a half. Now at least Cam.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
You're invisible enough that you can logically be underappreciated. And
Matt Williamson says he's doing stuff that don't show up
in stats, and I think that's probably true.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
But nonetheless, DK metcalf.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
His deal when he arrived in Pittsburgh four years, one
hundred and thirty two million. He ranks forty eighth in
the receptions with forty two thirty, first in receiving yards
with five hundred and seventy three. Now, on the other hand,
the guy you want to blame, Mason Rudolph two year deal,
(02:35):
seven point.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Five million, you make the most.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
You got to do the most, or at least in
the case of the three big money bozos I'm talking about,
you got to do more than they're doing. And I'm
right about this. The stats tell me I'm right. Their
record tells me I'm right. You wearing their jerseys like
fanboys that might tell you that I'm wrong. But I'm
right and you're wrong. I'm smart and you're stupid. I'm
(03:01):
rich and you're poor. I'm good looking and you're unattractive. Oh,
he had some calls coming in early for calls on
the fifteens. Let's go to Johnathan Roeville. John, what's up?
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Hey, what's up, buddy.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
Hey, I'm just I'm just kind of puzzled with this
whole situation. When the game started, they showed its stat
that I think their linebackers that they started had five
tackles combined.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Yeah, there are three top linebackers were out correct.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
And and they they didn't throw to any tight ends.
They didn't try to get the backs out of the.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Back enough, not enough anyway.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Probably a more accurate way to put it is they
did not use the middle of the field where the
bummy linebackers were.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
Yeah, it's just it's terrible. I've always been a Tomlin supporter.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
But I mean it's terrible anymore. This coaching staff is horrendous.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Even if you're a tomin supporter. He's just been here
too long. And because he totally runs one hundred percent
football operations, he never wrong.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Even when he's wrong.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
Yeah, I just it's it's absolutely it's It was a heartbreaker,
you have said, to lose the way they did with
two chances at the end of the game and just
bad coaching the entire time.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
By the time those chances came at the end of
the last drive was with ninety seconds left in no
time outs, and they were three quarters of the field away.
The game was lost long before then, and it was
lost by coaching and by the defense. Thank you for
the call, though, we got a bunch of calls lined
up for UH calls on the fifteens. We got Lucy
and Joe on hold already, guys, please stay on hold
(04:36):
because they have you on for the segment that's sweeping
the radio nation calls on the fifteens.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
That would be so fetch one O five nine the X.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Soft and I use a bunch of pillows and I
swore the X at one five nine. Joe Burrow, the
Bengals quarterback who's been hurt most of the year, announced
on his Instagram he's back. He'll play Thursday when they
play the Ravens on Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
That's good for.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
The Steelers because the Steelers don't play Cincinnati again. Cincinnati
plays the Ravens twice, including like I said on Thursday,
Bengals are three and seven. They're not going to make
a run to a playoff spot. Then again, maybe they
could catch the Steelers. Also, Guns n' Roses announced the
World Tour in twenty twenty six, not coming to Pittsburgh
(05:26):
and the day in Hershey, well, I'm going to see
Foreigner and Leonard skinnerd in Toronto and then.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Gn r's in Hershey the next day.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
I'm not going to come back for that, but gn
r's in Toronto a few days later, so I'm just
going to stay in Toronto for a week and see
a couple of shows and go to the Hockey Hall
of Fame and hang out in Toronto.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
That'll be great.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Right now, it's time for calls on the fifteenth, which
is so fetch We got Phil Bourk at the bottom
of the hour.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Let's go to Lucy. Lucy, you're on with Mark.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Gee.
Speaker 5 (06:00):
I think that the pen would would be better with
new line Nick, But then Kindle and Sidney.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Klisy, I didn't understand. What do you want? Do you
want Kendall and Sidney Crosby on the same line? Sweetie?
Speaker 5 (06:22):
Do you think Ray could have new line? Makes?
Speaker 1 (06:26):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Well, no, I mean I mean, sweetie, thank you for
the call. Great to hear from you with your dad
whispering in your ear. Do I think they could have
new line mates?
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Lucy, there's only so many guys to pick from. They
got who they got. I'm sure Sidwich is he could
have somebody on his wing right now. As to the
Connor doer, but they're doing the best they can. Let's
go to Tim and Moon Township. Tim, you're almost Mark.
Speaker 6 (06:49):
How are you doing today?
Speaker 3 (06:49):
Mark?
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Great?
Speaker 6 (06:52):
Yeah, I just wanted to call and talk about that's
your conservative Mike, Tom Wentz, I really don't understand how
you got three inside LiLine backers out for the barrison.
You can't take as you are, you want the ball
over the milllefield. You've built this team to be tight
end heavy, and you still won't take any shots over milblefield.
(07:13):
They can't cover it well.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
The offense is up to Arthur Smith. But I totally
agree with you.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Why assemble this sort of team if you won't exploit
the personnel you've got to their fullest use. But but,
but it's a poorly assembled team. It's poorly a coach team.
Tom Win's incompetent, CON's incompetent. I mean, I don't know
what people don't understand at this point unless they think
that a winning record six and five right now, if
(07:37):
they think that's good enough for them, if that's where
the bar is, then you're welcome to it.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
It's not good enough for me.
Speaker 6 (07:44):
I am so tired of the offensive on Arthur Smith
thing too. Tomlin makes sixteen million.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Dollars, that's true, and you should hire a better coordinator.
But the offense is on Arthur Smith, not the defense.
Tomlin coaches that. Let's go to Dan Dan and kazakh Stan.
You're not in Kazakhstan.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Good day, sir.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
You're not in Kazakhstan.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
I am not.
Speaker 4 (08:11):
What do you want, I'm in a car driving on
the parkway.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
What do you want?
Speaker 3 (08:15):
Two points? Going to make number one?
Speaker 7 (08:17):
We make fun of get on the offense for never
taking a shot fifty to fifty balls to DK Metcalfany.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Well, no, they did that yesterday and the fifty went
the wrong way. The problem with the offense is they
don't take enough deep shots. Like Matt Williamson very accurately
pointed out, they don't take enough intermediate shots, and they
don't use the middle of the field.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
That's the problem.
Speaker 7 (08:39):
What I wanted to say to that, though, is if
DK's not going to make that catch, he has to
make sure the other guy doesn't.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
No question. I've never seen a big guy play.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
So small looks like Tarzan plays like jan Thank you
for the call.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Let's go to Joe and Cranberry.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
Good day, mister Madens. What up? Listen to Mark? I
was under the sumption.
Speaker 8 (09:00):
That this is a performance based business, and here we
are facing another mediocre season at best year after year.
What's it going to take for the Roonies to get rid?
Of coach clueless.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Well, it's not a performance based business with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
It simply is not, by way of you being right,
I hasten to add, it's not about winning. It stopped
about being about winning, not even when Dan passed away,
but when he got feeble. It became about the tradition
of doing things the way they always do like Daddy
(09:32):
and Granddaddy did. It became about stability and not excellence.
It became about never firing the coach. It became about
everything but winning. The logos dead, the hypocycloid has been stained.
The black and gold is now a faded version. Let's
go to Mike. Mike, you're all with Mark.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
Hey, Mark just wanted to say two things.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
The Steelers are never gonna fire Tomlin, and fetch is
never gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Betch is happening right now, just like calls on the fifteenth.
Let's go to Jason Steubenville.
Speaker 9 (10:06):
What what up mine? Mark? Mark, Let me let me
say something yesterday. I'm just going off about yesterday's game.
I know the defense is the problem. I ain't calling
talk about the defense.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
Mason Rudolph.
Speaker 9 (10:18):
Come on, man, this guy kids off throw in the
middle of the field.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
How do we know he can't throw in the middle
of the field. Rogers doesn't shut Shut up, shut your mouth.
Rogers doesn't throw in the middle of the field. The
game plan doesn't call for throws in the middle of
the field.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
What don't you get Let me ask you a questions.
Speaker 9 (10:37):
Yesterday the Stuents defense game to Pittsburgh offense two exter
possessions to the time.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Shut up, they allot thirty one points f the defense?
Speaker 1 (10:47):
FU, You're clueless? What would you do start? Will Howard?
Let me what would you do?
Speaker 3 (10:52):
Start? No?
Speaker 2 (10:53):
No, no, no, I'm asking the questions, loser.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
Who would you start a quarterback when Rodgers is out?
Speaker 3 (10:59):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Who would you start a quarterback when Rogers is out?
Speaker 9 (11:04):
What's Let me ask you questions?
Speaker 2 (11:06):
No?
Speaker 1 (11:07):
No, no, no? Put them on all, Put them on all,
Put them on all.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Okay, asked face when you're ready to answer my question?
Because I'm the star, I'm the star, I'm the reason
people tone in. It's the me show, not the u show.
Put them back on. Why are you ready to answer question?
Speaker 1 (11:22):
Okay? Goodbye, goodbye? You'd start?
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Will Howard? You stupid son of a bitch? Not to
be critical. Right now, I'd like to talk about bet
Parks on my casino and sportsbook. I love it, I
recommend it, I use it because whether your team wins
or not, there's always another way to win.

oh five nine.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
It's The Woody Show weekday mornings at six Yeah on one.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
X.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
If you love the show, well won Buddy Bedating, Dusty Road,
Tomican Dream, So be it Baby the X at one
five nine, Peng was in a bit of a rough
patch joining me to talk about it. The two times
Stanley Cup winner. You love him on radio, you love
him on TV. He is analyst Phil Bork two niner
Saturday was better than Friday, but you gotta get the result.
(12:56):
That said, the Penguins did everything in overtime but score.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Yeah, I can kurk. Crystal Tang could be on with you, Mark,
like always, Crystal Tang hits the post in overtime and
that's you know, that's hockey, man, that's the game of inches.
And yeah, they played a lot better in that second game.
That first game. I don't know if there's anything really
much to talk about because nothing was going their way
at all, nothing at all. I took nothing out of
(13:21):
that game that was positive.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
In that Friday night game.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Yeah, and then they went to Winnipeg and they shut
out the Winnipeg Jets too, So they're for real. They're
on a major heater right now. So it's not just
the Penguins, they're doing it too. They're doing it to
everybody in the league right now. Ever, since they lost
to the Penguins on October thirtieth, that's when it all
started for them. But yeah, they did a lot of
good things. Puck possession. I thought they attacked a net
(13:49):
when necessary, good line changes, all the things you're supposed to,
all the boxes you're supposed to check in overtime, Mark,
everything but the biscuit in the basket, And I like that.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Dan Muse got mad after which when he met with
the media, not in US, but just at the fact
that they had four points to get on the weekend
and only got one. He's really emphasizing results even though
this team is in a rebuilding phase, and I think
that's good.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
Yeah, I concur Yeah, I just I'd like it was
just no bs, right, there was no emotions involved. Yeah,
anger to a point where again there was nothing emotional
about it. He was spot on. He didn't he didn't
cut any corners. He didn't even give his goaltender a pass.
You know, there was there was no uh genuflecting and
(14:37):
uh you know, butt rubbing, whatever you want to call it.
He got right to the point and because it was
time for that, right, Mark is refreshing to have a
coach not kind of you know, go halfway in. You know,
he went all the way in and said what needs
to be said. Uh, And again I don't I don't
think it was over the top. But also it's okay.
(14:57):
I think for a coach to use the meeting sometimes
to deliver a message in a little bit of a
different tone and texture than he would deliver in the
locker room.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
Why are they zero and five in overtime and shootouts?
It's just not a strength for them and hasn't been
for a few years.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Let's start with the shootouts first. Number one, they never
practiced it. I think there is something to practicing it,
because when they were really good at the shootouts is
when Cam Bosman was the head coach, and they practice
it all the time. Also, they use the same guys
and a lot of the same guys use the same
move you know, so they become incredibly predictable. And what
(15:38):
kind of arrow they pick out of their quiver when
they go for the shootout? So maybe try something new
somebody knew. But as far as the overtime, I think
that I don't think they do it a lot wrong
in the overtime. I just think it's one of those
things where they just haven't been able to score it.
They haven't been able to finish. And you know, it's
(15:59):
weird because that goalie other night by Brandon Montour, that
was the first shot that Seattle got right. And so they,
you know, they're again. I think practicing it would help. Again,
they have not practiced it for years, and they are now.
I think a combination. Yes, they are now, and that's
the key. They are practicing the shootout and the overtime.
(16:19):
And I think there's something to that. And and Dann
Muse was asked about it, and he said, you know,
he kind of has to be careful because the goalies
know the shooters, the shooters know the goalie. But I
still think there's something too practicing it and having success
whether you're a goalie or a shooter.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
How's morishoff been. I think he's been pretty good. I
see the potential for sure. I thought he could have
made that stop in overtime against Seattle. But overall I
give him, I don't know, a C plus grade somewhere
in there with with a lot better to come.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
Yeah, I might put him in the B category, but
that's fine. I thought the you know, the Venier's goal,
I thought it was one of the few times where
he looked kind of small in the net. He moved
from right to left and he got kind of down
and I think every other level that he's ever played
at that shot ends up in his bread basket. But
(17:08):
that goal by Veneer as well. He's falling on his
back foot and to throw it up by the left
ear lobe underneath the crossbar. There's not many players in
the world that can shoot the puck like that. And
it kind of surprised him because because he usually when
he gets down low like that, he usually bounces back
up and gets himself tall because he's not six foot four,
but he can play like he's six foot four. I'm
(17:31):
to the point now where I can't wait to see
him play again. I'm so excited in the style of
that he has for the goaltender position that I want
to see him again. And I love his mental toughness.
And that's part of why I want to see him
again is because he takes the losses personal. He almost
is apologetic to his teammates and to the fans when
(17:52):
there's not a w up on the board, and I
love that he accepts it and he digs in and
he's gonna work harder and gets smarter and better the
next time he's in there.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
We're talking to Phil bork The old two nine are
here on the home of the Penguins one oh five
ninety X.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
Penguins have lost date out of eleven.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
But I can't complain about the Starsborkie, Sid and Gino.
It's gotta go Saturday and by going to the net
setting an example.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
Yeah, that's part of the problem right now is you know,
five times this year we've had Sid and Gino both
light the lamp in the same game, and so it's
it's been the big boys for a while now. And
when we were eight two and two and we're tied
with Colorado at the end of October from number one
record in the league, it was because we had so
(18:36):
many different goal scores. And now that's kind of gone
away a bit and it's got to come back if
they want to get themselves out, because they woke up
this morning not only out of the wild card position,
but out out of the playoffs in the Eastern Conference.
And that there's no excuse for that. You still have
good pieces here, and I understand the injuries are are mounting,
and it's not just fringe players that are injured, but
(18:59):
that's still no excuse use for guys that are counted
on to chip one in here and there when needed
to keep the training moving down the tracks, because it
just can't be the big boys all the time.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
Tristan Brose came up.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
I think that's good he was doing well in wil
because I like calling up the hot hand.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
And he's definitely got energy, doesn't he.
Speaker 3 (19:19):
Yeah, Oh yeah, he can fly, he can motor, he's
got effective speed and quickness, he's got good myths, he's
got a good shot. Eight goals and fifteen games down
in Wilkes, and you're right, that's some people. Somebody said
to me this morning, well, why why the heck he
had a great training camp. Why wasn't the f here sooner. Well,
for young guys, you want them to go down there
(19:39):
and marinate a little bit. So that almost like a
Jake Denzil situation, where you go down there, you get hot,
and hope you bring your hotness up to the big
club and then you never go back to the American
League again the rest of your career. That's the ideal situation.
So you want to make sure when you bring that
player up that the stats are there offensively? Yeah, that's
the obvious thing. But you want to know the overall game.
(20:02):
And from what I understand, both Jason Spetzer and Kyle
Dubis watch every game, whether it's live or you know,
on film of what's going on in Wilkesbury, and so
it's it's more than the stats. You've got to be
able to compete physically. How are they scoring goals? Can
they score those kinds of goals that they're scoring in
the American League? Can they score similar like goals in
the National Hockey League? And probably just as importantly, how
(20:25):
good are they defensively? How good are they away from
the puck? And so you know you can watch see
some of that, but none of it on a lot
of it on video. And that's where the coaching staff
will endorse that player and say, yeah, they're they're ready
to rock and roll. And so again, you know, for
any player that's been called up, including Tristan Burs, you
know you have an unbelievable opportunity. I don't know if
these players realize the opportunity, because especially right now when
(20:48):
some guys are aren't scoring and their confidence is not
at a real high mark, that they become eligible to
be taken out of the lineup. Look at Philip Thomasino.
He just wasn't cutting the mustard and now he's down
in wils And that's what I think is great about
this year, that if you're not pulling your weight and
you're not doing what he's expected of you, you're really
either be out of the lineup or you'll be heading
(21:10):
down the highway to Wilkesbury. That's the reality of it.
That's it's big boy hockey now, which there's no feel good,
you know moments anymore. This is all about winning and
if you can contribute to win, if you're not on
the score sheet, how are you helping us win games.
It's great that you work hard, it's great that you
took a couple of hits. It's great that you took
a couple of shots. I think we're past that with
(21:30):
Dan Muse, he's all about we got to get win,
we got to get points, and if you're not on
the score sheet, how are you helping us do that?
Speaker 2 (21:37):
And in that vein with young guys, Billy Coyvenan's back
at practiced after having been hurt. What's been wrong with him?
I expected more and I think we'll get more. My
one criticism of is is is when he slumps, he
gets the boo boo face awful quick.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
Yeah, he's still a young player, and you're right, I
notice that same body language. I think it's just frustrations
boiledough because yeah, no, we're not gonna deny either one
of us. I think we're gonna both agree that he's
the talent is there. The talent is there, but there's
been a lot of players that have come down the
turnpike with talent. Again, it's about results and if you're
(22:15):
not gonna be physical, he's not a physical guy. And
if you're not gonna kill penalties, if you're not gonna
be that guy, that's you know, being able to excel
on the special teams. What do you do to help
us win? You've been gifted unbelievable myths, you're an offensive player,
you need to put up numbers. Again, that's that's the reality.
I'm not trying to be a jerk about it, you know,
(22:35):
but that's the reality. That's where we are. This is
a team that can make a run and get in
the playoffs, and then with the stars that we have
and the goaltending we have. You just never know what
might happen. But that's not gonna happen if we don't
have guys like Coven and go and pool In and
all these young guys now burs all these guys that
are coming up. It's great that you get a chance,
but what are you gonna do with this chance? Because
(22:57):
if you're not going to do anything else with it,
there's other guys. Avery Hayes is once he gets healthy,
he's going to be wanting to get up here. There's
other guys down in Wilkes that are knocking on the
door that are legitimate NHL prospect. You have an unbelievable
opportunity to make a career as the Pittsburgh Penguin. The
door is wide open for you, and now it's up
(23:17):
for those players to kick that door wide open.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
But also in that Vane Harrison Bruneck, who's been scratched
for quite a while, as going to Wilkes for conditioning,
which is a loophole where they don't have to send
them back to juniors because he's been scratched. I think
it's five straight games. I think that's good. I think
he'll he'll do well down there and regroup, maybe go
to Canada for the World Juniors. Kendall's here to stay,
but boy, he's kind of in a bad patch, right,
(23:40):
Not not bad, but you know what I mean, he's
tailed off.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
No, he's not scoring Mark all right, And that's again,
that's that's reality. He's gone what It was great to
see him get an apple on the Gino power play goal.
And he's still on that number one power play which
is great to see while Ricarte Riquel is still on
the shelf. And you're right, he does a lot of
good things. He had a tough turnover the last game.
He's turned the puck over a few times over the
(24:04):
last few games. It's you know, more is less maybe
a little bit and and get back to that net.
I look back to the game against LA when Brent
Clark really smoked him into the dasherboards. If you remember that,
Mark again, you got cut up pretty good there in
the mouth area. And I don't think he's quite been
the same since. Listen, it's NHL man, it's big boy hockey,
(24:26):
and I think he's got the gumption. I think he's
got the kahunes to get himself right back in there again.
But he's got to tell himself that that I gotta
let that go. I can't. I can't be you know,
thinking I'm gonna get hit here. I've got to play
what the way I was earlier on with it's not
a bit of a reckless abandon but it's also under
control and the way he was getting to the net
(24:47):
and hungry to get more opportunities because it's more more
each game. It's a little bit more perimeter stuff and
he's got to get back, find a way to get
back to get into that net and getting more opportunities
because he's been a little bit quiet over the last
five or six games.
Speaker 2 (25:02):
What about Brunie. Do you think he'll be back? You
think he'll go to junior think we'll go to World Juniors.
What do you think the future holds for him?
Speaker 3 (25:09):
Yeah, there's a lot, I think a lot going on here.
And you're right with the amount of games that he
has set. The Penguins are going to exercise that one
time Mulligan of sending him for a two week conditioning,
you can't do it again. So you've got a couple
of things coming up here. You mentioned he should be played,
(25:29):
He should be played for Canada. Come on. Of course
he's gonna play for Canada and the World Juniors, which
goes from the day after Christmas to January fifth. Now,
I think they have a couple of things before that,
maybe a week before they go there. And World Juniors
are right here in Minnesota, so it'll be good because
you'll be able to take a look at him and
without going overseas. So it's right over in Minnesota. You
can play for Team Canada. That's still January fifth. On
(25:52):
January third, the Penguins play Game number forty. Mark. That's
a line of demarcation because at that point you have
to make heart. That's where you make your hard decision.
That's when after that he cannot go back to junior.
He cannot go back to Kamloops and play in the
Western Hockey League after Game forty on January thirtieth. And
then also he got the Olympic grade coming up. So
(26:13):
I was thinking they might hold this mulligan, this two
week conditioning stint for that three week break in February
during the Olympics, but they decided, no, he hasn't played
in a while. We got to get him in there.
We'd be doing a disservice to not get him in
there and just throw him into Team Canada, but you know,
not playing a game in what six or seven weeks,
So that's that's the timeline for Harrison Brunick. I think
(26:37):
as long as there's a complete open and I understand
there is open line of communication with Harrison and with
his agent and make sure he knows exactly what's going on,
then I think he'll kind of get his way through
this right now and be better for it in the future.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
Finally, BORKI, you know what they say about it never
rains but a poors. I don't think Buffalo is very good,
but they're in time. Wednesday, they've won four five, Tage
Thompson is on fire. It strikes me as a big
game given the Penguins precarious position right now in the
playoff race, because you know what they say about being
in a playoff spot on Thanksgiving.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
Day, Amen, brother, Yeah, I think it's somewhere a seventy
five or seventy eight percent of the team's thank you.
I knew you have the number on the tip of
your tongue. Yeah, and yeah, it's over the last twenty
twenty five years, the teams are in that playoff position,
stay in that playoff position. So yeah, uh, and you
know what kind of crowd we get on that night
(27:33):
before Thanksgiving. They are well lubricated and it's always a buzz.
And you're right, the Buffalo is sick and tired of
losing and sucking. And and Tage Thompson, I think he
has a goal in six straight. They just beat the
Carolina Hurricanes four to one on home ice, and they're
they're getting their act together. They got Ukapeka lucan In
their number one goalie back in the fold, and they've
got some depth and and Alex Tuck is playing some
(27:55):
really good hockey. And you know, Rasus Delin is back
from taking care of his girlfriend who had a heart transplant.
There's a lot going on for the Buffalo Savers. But
they've got to act together. They're on a roll. They
can sniff a playoff spot. I think they're only what
three or four points behind the playoffs behind the Penguins now, right,
So it's yeah, it's not must win. I'm not gonna
say must win in November, but it's as important a win, uh,
(28:18):
in the month of November as the Penguins have had
in a long time. They're going to need those full
two points for sure.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
Bortget tremendou stuff. I'll see at the rink Wednesday night.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
Happy ninetieth birthday to my good friend Eddie Johnston EJ,
former NHL goaltender, Penguins coaching GM drafted Mario played for
Team Cannon in seventy two. Last goalie to play every
minute of every game in a season, won two Cups
as a goalie with Boston. Should be in the Hockey
Hall of Fame. It's absurd that he's not. He's the
(32:10):
best hockey man.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
I know.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
I learned more about hockey from EJ than anybody. Happy
ninetieth to him, and I think EJ could probably play
goal right now for about fifteen seconds, which is longer
than me.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
Okay, let's go to Steve. Steve ask Mark anything.
Speaker 4 (32:29):
Hey, Mark Gay, one of which the Happy Thanksgiving Hey
question I called a few months ago about the sphere
right and the Wizard of Oz.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
I wanted to know if you actually went and saw that.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
I did not.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
I just couldn't find the time to the last time
it was in Vegas, but I think they're going to
do more showings. I intend to do it at some point,
and I'm playing to go to Vegas three times next
year for the Penguins game, for Rod Stewart and for
Guns N' Roses.
Speaker 4 (32:56):
They're going through I understand maybe into March, but was
if you could pick any movie you want to see there, immersive.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
And everything, what would it be?
Speaker 1 (33:06):
Slap shot?
Speaker 9 (33:07):
Duh?
Speaker 1 (33:08):
Let's go to Kevin and the Car.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
Kevin, you're on with double M What up?
Speaker 3 (33:12):
Mark? What up?
Speaker 9 (33:16):
Realistically? How much longer are we going to have to
put up with Tomlin as the head coach of this franchise?
Speaker 3 (33:22):
And your best estimate.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
Until he retires or dies.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
And I'm not being flippant, he will not leave of
any volition other than his own.
Speaker 4 (33:34):
That's what I thought.
Speaker 3 (33:35):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
When I say retires, I mean he could, you know,
resign whatever, But he makes the decision for sure, Absolutely
for sure.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
Let's go to Antonio and the Car. Antonio ask Mark anything?
Speaker 4 (33:49):
Hey, Mark, I've been calling off the Hounds all season.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
I just want to let you know.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
I made the bus trip with a bunch of fans
to Oklahoma and we watched the Pittsburgh sports team win
a championship.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
I just wanted to ask how your watch party went,
and how about them Hounds.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
Watch party was good, had a pack toss and Shiloh
playton poor up in Mount Washington.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
Had a great Steelers cry yesterday.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
Marinos American eater in Greensburg too, because I am more
popular than ever being, you know, so fetch and all.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
But yeah, the River Hauns were great.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
And it's weird because they scored one goal in four
playoff games and won the championships, but they allowed zero goals.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
That's the format they adapted.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
They showed great resolve and focus for the pks. And
you know, River Hauns, Riverhuns top of the league, River
Hans top of the league.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
Let's go to a.
Speaker 12 (34:36):
Talkback, Mark can Pittsburgh confidently say that the Steelers still
take volunteers and not hostages? And do you believe Aaron
Rodgers regrets his signing with the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
Actually, that last part I'm intrigued by. I wonder about that.
He's my favorite Steeler. Although I do believe in Mason Rudolph.
The Steelers would have believed in him as much as
I do. They would have won the game yesterday, But
I don't know. I mean, I don't think Rogers is
getting what he bargained for what he signed with Pittsburgh.
I don't think the team and particularly the coaching and
(35:15):
the offensive game plan is what he thought it would be.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
But then again, he could affect the latter. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (35:21):
To answer your question, I don't know, and he didn't
have any other offers that I know of. Would have
probably preferred to go to Minnesota, but I don't know.
Depends how bad he wanted to keep playing. If it
was Pittsburgh or nothing, then how upset can he be
if he really wanted to keep playing. But if he
came here for a championship or even a remote shot,
thereof shame on him for not seeing this situation and
(35:45):
the coaching for what it really is. Let's go real
quickly to our good friend the Hebrew hammer hammer Yack shamash.
Speaker 4 (35:53):
Yess I, Hey, would pitt fans rather the football team
make the playoffs or play pit in a play in
state in a bowl game.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
It's a good question. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
But here's the thing. I think pitt fans would rather
just miss the playoffs. I think they'd rather win out,
not qualify for the a SEC Championship game. Not getting
that large bit because Pitt fans like the bitch.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
Well, it'd be like justin served for West Virginia fans.
Speaker 4 (36:19):
Pitt knock them out all those years ago, and I
guess in a roundabout way, West Virginia would knock Pit
up to be not.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
Nearly the same thing.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
Pitt cost West Virginia champion of the National Championship. West
Virginia cost Pit. I'm not even sure Pitt would make
it if they had beaten West Virginia and beat Miami.
Speaker 4 (36:40):
Hey, Tomlin could coach another ten years.
Speaker 6 (36:43):
He's like fifty five, He's like fifty three or fifty
four years old.
Speaker 3 (36:46):
He could coach another ten to fifteen years. How about that.
It'd be like a Chinese ruler, like an emperor.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
And if he wants to, he will. That's your cue.
Speaker 2 (36:56):
Yes, wheremy I was trying to think of it like
a Chinese phrase to use in response, but yeah, no,
no upside there
