Speaker 1 (00:00):
Want your thoughts for calls on the fifteens, want your
thoughts on DK Metcalf, how long is to be suspended?
I believe you think that everything every Steeler does is
right because they're winning right now. And that's where you're
not very smart sports fans. They're certainly loyal. When they lose,
they sock fire everybody. When they win, DK punching a
fan in the faces Aoka. And just for the record,
(00:23):
I've been saying fire Tomlin. They're nine and six now,
one three straight. Right Tomlin has clinched yet another non
losing season, and I still say fire Tomlin because they
ain't going to get to where they want to go
until things aren't stale. By the way, I don't have
an exact number. I read somewhere. So many of the
(00:43):
teams in the playoffs right now in both conferences are
being coached by coaches in their fourth year or less.
There you go. Let's go to Mike. Mike here to
Mark Madden.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Showm good Day.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
I said, good day.
Speaker 4 (01:00):
Hey, real quick talk about the Penguins. First of all,
Sydney Crosby is the most perfect athlete I think in
any sports history. You love, but you can't say enough
about that guy. But relating to the Penguins, he made
a point that you think that they are the you know,
the team that's most likely to contend fastest in Pittsburgh.
Given the stale of the Haffmin group, you still think
that's the case.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Yeah, as long as Kyle Dubas remains in charge. And
when the Hoffman Group put out their statement upon officially
acquiring the team, they gave him a great vote of confidence.
I don't mean and in the sense that you get
a vote of confidence right before you get fired, but
they said, you know, in certain terms he's in charge.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Yeah, it's definitely good news for sure. I was, uh,
you put it on Twitter. I think they're the EHL
ain't the NHL. So I guess that was kind of
where my concern lied. But as for Dubis, there's definitely
no debate there.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yeah, I mean, uh, the other it's his plan. It's
already being executed. My only worry is, and it doesn't
sound like this has happened already, is that you know,
Sid's agent who wants Sid to win right now, convince
his ownership that that that they could win now if
they trade to win now. If they if they compromise
to rebuild even more than it is with Malclin and
(02:15):
Geno and Hayes and the chari and do her there.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Yeah, that's certainly not the case, at least in my opinion. Hey,
the other thing, quickly is you do a really good job.
I think a kind of pointing out the stooge media
and Pittsburgh and everything you just said on the monologue,
especially about DK and Tomlin in the state of Steelers,
couldn't be more accurate. One thing that I didn't do.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
But I'm also a Penguin fan, and I just rip
what they're doing to shreds.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
I am the truth.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
He then to that, Hey, after the Steelers, you talk
about the stooge media a lot. I like the guy,
But does it seem to you like Cabaldi's kind of
gone down that path a little bit? Like I just think,
you know, a Steeler could take a dump on the
guy's car and you'd probably.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Say, well, put it this way.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Uh, I'm not sure oftentimes when I hear Kabali what
he's saying, because I think his cell phone is compromised
by being so far under the tents.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Thank you for the call, Uh.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
But you know everybody has there, everybody in the steel
everybody who covers the Steelers thinks they can ultimately work
for the Steelers, like like uh, Labriola did so well,
Labs is great for so many years, and they try
to curry favor, which Labs didn't do before he worked
for the Steelers, as I remember, Uh, okay, get your
calls in out for calls on the fifteens eight three, three,
(03:34):
four one two WXDX.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
It's the Mark Man show one O five to nine.
Ho ho ho, it's that Tommy Yergan, isn't I can't.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Even quote the big o'bowski right, goodbye DX one O
five nine. Calls on the fifteen just taken off. Let's
go to dino Velvedno, how are you?
Speaker 5 (03:51):
Hey?
Speaker 6 (03:52):
Mark?
Speaker 7 (03:52):
You let me take your money, but you won't let
me take your picture.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
Those are two different kinds of trust. Hey, is there any.
Speaker 7 (03:58):
Truth to the statement mister Rooney just released that DK
Metcalf struck that fan because DK just wanted to get
his children baptized? Can you confirm that.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Very good James Harrison reference. I can either confirm nor deny.
I don't think the Steelers had made a statement other
than Tomlin after the game, saying he didn't see it.
Speaker 7 (04:18):
Yeah, DK played it the wrong way. All he had
to say was the guy spit on him. And I
think coach Tomlin would have backed his move. He said,
you know, once you get spit on, I'll bets are off.
You can swing or do whatever you need to do.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Yeah, I didn't like it.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
I think it reflects the lack of accountability demanded by
the organization in general and the coach in particular.
Speaker 7 (04:38):
Killed the machine, killed them all.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Let's go to Damian. Damian, you're all with double.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
M All right, Mark, how you doing today?
Speaker 6 (04:46):
Great?
Speaker 8 (04:48):
So's watching the game? Y after reacts all DK hit
the fan and immediately I said to myself, this time
tomorrow will be hearing. He used a racial flur. Seems
like anytime variables, certain variables are met by the app
fleet and the victim, that's the go to.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Well, the only person who said that, the only person
who said that is Ocho Sinko.
Speaker 8 (05:08):
Well, but that's the excuse. That was the same thing
with Miles Garrett when he tried to kill Meathan Rudolph.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
I know, and like I said, the irony is that
Pittsburgh fans believe DK Metcalf, but wouldn't believe Miles Garrett.
They will believe they're black guy. Excuse me, our black guy,
not their black guy.
Speaker 8 (05:27):
Right, And last time I checked, saying something that hurts
your feelings isn't a crime, but battery is. When did
we decide certain wall if he.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Used the N word. If he used the N word,
it's hate speech. But other than that, it just comes
under fan heckling. He paid to get in the stadium,
and what is DK Metcalf.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
Doing over there? Anyway?
Speaker 1 (05:44):
DK needs to be an adult, a teammate, and a professional,
but I think he's capable of none of those. All
he can do is OPI let's go to Joe and Beaver.
Speaker 9 (05:55):
Hey, Mark, you know, once again, just another example of
the undisciplined culture that he's exists for this organization. And
I'm want your opinion. How about if the NFL starts
holding the head coach slash organization responsible for the actions
and culture of their players.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Well, how would you suggest they do that? Exactly?
Speaker 9 (06:16):
Well, in other words, confront Tomlin over this, since he's
really responsible for setting the town.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
They're just not They're just not gonna do that. Let
alone publicly, Dude. The NFL doesn't care as much as
I think Metcalf should be suspended for the rest of
the season. Guys have done far worse stuff than that
off the field and almost not been punished at all,
except for the Shadow Band guys. If anybody got if
anybody got screwed for being black, it's it's Colin Kaepernick
(06:43):
for being a black militant. He got black bought out
of the league, and he wasn't good enough either. But
you get my drift. Let's go to Matt, Matt your
own double.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
M Okay, let's go what.
Speaker 6 (07:01):
Was that?
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Let's go to Denny.
Speaker 6 (07:06):
Hey, I met If you can put you know who?
Speaker 7 (07:11):
Mark?
Speaker 4 (07:11):
I'm sorry then, but you know who.
Speaker 5 (07:15):
I have black was flipping.
Speaker 8 (07:17):
The bird too.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
I think it was you. Thank you for the call.
Speaker 1 (07:21):

Speaker 2 (09:25):
The exit one oh five nine Peng.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Was finally won a game yesterday, broke an eight game
losing streak. But the big news was Sid passing Mario
in career points, joining me not at TAK hockey.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Ain't nobody better. He's done everything you can in the
great game.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
It's Pierre McGuire, Uh, Pierre Sid past Marion career points.
What's your perspective on that accomplishment?
Speaker 6 (09:47):
It's unbelievable when you think about how hard it is
to score with the bigger goalies and the amazing uh
infrastructure of advanced scalloting right now, and how big and
athletic the defenseman are It's an amazing accomplishment. It also
speaks to the greatness of Mario Lemu when he was
playing in the league where it was basically tackle football
on ice and there was no stretch pass. I know
(10:10):
people are pointing out the fact it took see a
lot more games to score that number compared to Mario.
Mario Demure is a freak of nature. There's been very few,
if any players like him in the history of the
National Hockey League. Kidney combines and combines the greatness the
creativity of Mario view, the peripheral vision and the skill
especially in the backhand of Wayne Gretzky, and the power
(10:32):
for Neesse and determination of Peter Forsburg. That's a marriage
of three of the best players we've seen in the
league over the last thirty five years. It's an amazing
testament to the greatness of Sidney Crosby.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
I agree with all that in de Sid's credit. Sid
always points out the disparity in games played to reach
the mark, because that's just being gracious, and that's just
giving Mario the credit he deserves.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Isit a top five player of all time? Per right now?
I think?
Speaker 5 (10:58):
So?
Speaker 6 (10:58):
What do you think I would say yes, and people
are going to argue, well, what about John Bellivo, what
about Gordy Hell, what about Wayne Gretzky, what about Bobby
or what about Mary Lemir. So I've said those five.
That takes them right out of it. I think these
lists you got to think about what's he accomplished. How
much times on travel was Dorty Hell and John Bellivo
doing back in the day, especially in the prime of
(11:20):
their careers, not nearly as much we had the big
expansion in nineteen sixty seven for Bellevo, and how most
of their careers have really been over by then, the
meat of their careers has been over. So there's a
lot of different things that when you create these lists
you got to think about. The game's never been faster,
the game's never been played by bigger people, the games
(11:41):
never had bigger goalies, the size of than that's.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Have never changed.
Speaker 6 (11:45):
So you know, to say that is not considered one
of the top five players of all time, I think
it'd be tough to say. I think he should be
on that list.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
I agree, And you're right in pointing out that they're
so different. Sid and Mario. Mario was an alien. You
couldn't read him, you couldn't stop him. You can read Sid,
but you just can't stop him.
Speaker 5 (12:05):
That is so to see.
Speaker 6 (12:07):
I never would say that, just because I know both
people and I know both players. I just I wouldn't
think of saying that. I see different things.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
But one thing that's really important Mark about Mario, that
I don't think it's talked about enough. Could you imagine
the amount of points Mario would have had had he
not had cancer, He didn't have a bad back, and
there would have been no red line when he played,
so you can make the stretch pass. We're talking about
a player, seriously, that would have been between one hundred
(12:35):
and sixty and probably two hundred points for probably five
to seven years in the prime of his career. Mark,
I think you would agree with that. So this is
not a knock at Crosby, and I'm endorsing Crosby. I
got ripped apart for when Crosby was sixteen years old
saying he was going to be this good. People are
calling it heresy and disgraceful and all this stuff. And
I very seldom have ever seen a player like Sydney.
(12:57):
You know, I'm just telling you, Mario to me is
amazing and if I could take you inside baseball for
one second. Right after Sid broke the record, I sent
a note to Mario and you know what his response was, Mark,
And he's pretty easy and you will appreciate it.
Speaker 6 (13:14):
Guy, I know how well you know Mario.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
He said, what a night for Sidney, what a night
for the fans in Pittsburgh, and what a night for
Sid's family. It was an awesome message.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
No question, And that's Mario.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
They every time they speak of the other, they just
trade credit and rightly back and forth. I think if
Mario had had illness and injury, he would have scored
a thousand goals at that point, blank, no doubt to
my mind, how long will Sid play, Pierre? How many
points will he wind up with? Because I can't get
a grip on that. I think he could play into
(13:46):
his forties because of his conditioning, I'm not sure. I mean,
I think he wants to, but I'm not sure.
Speaker 5 (13:53):
I think and I said this before this season started,
I thought he had three really high end years left.
I think we're seeing that this year. And if he
gets through, you know, without being compromise helf wise, I
could see him having two more awesome years after this.
I don't know if he wants to do it or not.
I think he's addicted to the game. I think he's
an unbelievable student of the game. I think he represents
(14:15):
or he understands the legacy that he represents in the
game right now, and so I would hope that he'd
want to stay on as long as his body can
hold up. You know, I'll never forget. And you were there, Mark,
you were right there with me when they're late part
of the season. I remember going to Brian Trotcy and
(14:35):
I said to Brian, how much long do you want
to do this? He says, Pierre, They're going to have
to cut my skates off as long as I can.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
I remember that.
Speaker 5 (14:44):
I kind of Mark. I kind of get the feeling
that kids like that, Mark, I really do. I kind
of get the feeling he just liked that.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
I hope so, because we'd all love to see it.
We're talking to Pierre Maguire here on one oh five
nine the X Pierre. If a team ever needed to win,
it was Pittsburgh last night and they still blew two leads.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
But they want to shootout.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
What's got to be a lyft because that's their first
shootout win of the season against I think six losses.
Speaker 5 (15:09):
Yes, it was a huge win for them, and that's
against a very good Montreal team, and we saw that
the night before obviously in Montreal with the four nothing win.
That Jacob Fowl or something else in goal for Montreal.
He's going to be special Mark great player out of
Boston College, kid that played in Youngstown in the United
States Hockey League before he moved up and matriculated to
Boston College. But you know, this is a very good
(15:33):
win for Pittsburgh and I think they got a chance.
They're going into Toronto obviously to play and if they
ever took pair of business tomorrow at four o'clock against
the Toronto Maple Leafs, that would send Toronto spiraling out
of control downward, and I think would really support the
Penguins going forward for the second half playoff run that
they're going to have to achieve if they're going to
make the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Yeah, let's stay with Toronto for just a second. What's
happened to them? They're in last place in the Atlantic.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
What's wrong? And how do they fix it? Can they
fix it?
Speaker 6 (16:03):
Well?
Speaker 5 (16:03):
I don't know. If Vegas is going to trade them
back Mitchell Marner. So that's part of the problem because
it affected one line, and when you affect one line,
you usually affect two lines. So what happened was last
year they had this line with Matthew and I as
Austin Matthews and Mitchell Marner, and it was a dominant
line and Marner also ran the power plane was their
number one tennalty killer. Well he's gone now he's gone,
(16:23):
and the guy they brought in to replace him, Nick Wah,
is a really good player, but he's a death player.
He's a third or fourth line center on a very
good team. He's won a Stanley Cup out in Vegas
in that kind of a role. But he's not replacing
Mitchell Marner. So that's number one, Number two decimated on
the right side with defenseman no Christopher Tanev, who was
a huge part of their identity and matchup situations. No
(16:43):
Brandon Carlow, who they paid a pretty substantial price to
get from the Boston Bruins. So that's a problem for them.
They're really lean on the right side of their defense.
And they said, quote unquote, as a management team after
last year's play off the back of the Florida where
they got smashed in Game five and seven. We're going
to change the DNA on our team, Well, they tried,
(17:04):
but the guys they brought in to change the DNA
haven't worked out. And that's a huge issue because they
put their cards on the table and right now the
dealers saying, you fold because you've put the wrong cards
in the table.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
The Penguins lost eight in a row before that win yesterday,
and Pierre, there's still only two points out of a
wild card spot in the East. Is that a good race,
a lot of bad teams? Maybe a whole bunch of both.
Speaker 5 (17:29):
I think it's a bunch of both. And the biggest
thing about it is Commissioner Betman wanted to keep all
these races alive as long as they could, and we're
starting to see the financial repercussions of the salary cap
era number one, number two, the fact that they didn't
go to a three point game situation, so you don't
get three points for a regulation win, you only get two.
(17:50):
Had they ever gone to the three point regulation and wins,
you'd have a lot of teams already out of the playoffs.
On So I think it's actually positive for the fans
and all the different cities. I'm for it, I'm not
against it. I think they're more good players in the
league than ever before. I see a lot of people say, well,
we can't afford to have two new NHL teams, there's
(18:11):
not enough good players. My question to those people is
how many American Hockey League games have you seen? How
many SAHL, Swedish Hockey League games have you seen? How
many Elite Series games have you seen in Finland? And
how many games have you seen in the Top check league?
Forget the KHL for now. There are more than enough
good players in all those leagues to really fill two
(18:34):
NHL rosters. I think we need expansion again and it
would be a real positive thing for the league.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
But I do like the three points for a regulation win, Pierre,
and that would be two points for an overtime win
or shootout two points for an overtime or shootout lost,
because I think it slows games down that are tied
at the end of regulation. I think when you get
the six seven minutes left in the game that's tied,
both teams start looking to guarantee themselves at least one
(19:00):
point that is.
Speaker 5 (19:02):
A very good reason to have your opinion, and I
totally understand your vision on that. Here's my vision on it,
and I agree with you. You're not wrong on anything he said.
So here's mine for one second. If I'm the owner
of a team that is in a non traditional hockey
market and my team's eliminated by January, I know the
answer is, well, then you got to make your team better.
I get it, but I don't want to be having
(19:24):
cash calls every March for twenty to thirty to forty
million dollars with my partners because I'm losing. So yeah,
does it artificially enhance the team's ability to stay in
the hunt?
Speaker 3 (19:35):
It does.
Speaker 5 (19:35):
If you do the system with two and one, no
matter what. If you go to three, you're going to
see a lot of teams buried probably by the middle
of January. And I'm not sure that works for a
lot of the owners in non traditional hockey markets.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
Up Pierre Harrison Brudick, the Penguins nineteen year old defenseman.
He's with Canada for the World Juniors. Did the Penguins
screw up with him? I think by being so indecisive
about junior or the NHL, and then the conditioning assignment
to Wilkes. He's only played five games in seven weeks.
That can't be good.
Speaker 5 (20:08):
Well, it's not good. But here's what's gonna be good.
He's gonna be under the spotlight right now. They got
him playing with Shane Aitchison, who's the first round pick
of the New York Islanders, who plays for the Barry
coltson the Interio Hockey League. Their partners right now with
Team Cannon. They're in the second tandem and those guys
will be playing a time. The World Junior is the
(20:28):
best developmental tool for an eighteen or nineteen year old player.
And the reason why is because you're going best on
best in your peer group. You're not gonna be overwhelmed physically.
You might get overwhelmed speed wise or skill wise, but
it will teach you some unbelievable lessons. So I think
it's actually good. I don't think they filed up on this.
I'm really proud of them for letting Grunwick go. I
(20:50):
talked to Paul Steiger all about this a lot. I
think it was a really enlightened and smart decision by
upper management. And I think you'll see when the player
comes back, whether it's at the end of this year
or at the beginning of next year, that World Junior
experience will help him a ton.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
I have no doubt about that.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
I just wish they had been more decisive about junior
or actually playing in the NHL at seasons beginning. And
I have the same complaint at a different level about
Ben Kindall, who's played very well, and I'm glad they
didn't send him to World Juniors because I think he's
developing just fine in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
I don't like that he's off the number one power play.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
He has better power play instincts than just about anybody
on the team. I don't know why Anthony Mantas out
there good player, but the journeyman and I would rate
Kindle on the power play.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
I had to reteller Russ too.
Speaker 5 (21:37):
So that's the one thing where I'm totally in agreement.
And I was watching, I'm going, come on, guys, don't
do this to this kids. His creativity and the power
players vision, you can see sid really trust him. Sometimes
sid the first to him with the puck. Yes, you
don't see that very often with a player Sidney Crosby's caliber.
Deferring to an eighteen year old who was an eleventh
(21:57):
overall pick in the draft. That just doesn't happen. So
I agree with you one hundred percent. I'm also looking
at this. Let's just say they had sent Ben Kendall
down to the World Junior. Let's just say they had
Michael Mesa is going to be the first line center
for Canada and Michael Hayes is going to be the
second line center for Canada.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
Right now, I.
Speaker 5 (22:18):
Think Kendall would have beaten out Hayes and Hayes into
the three hole. I don't think he would have beaten
Mesa out, so he might have been on the second
power play for Canada and the World Junior. I don't
know why he would be on the second power play
for Pittsburgh. I would just tell you that, honestly, I
think he needs to be put back up on the
first power play unit.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
Is Dan Muse relying too much on veterans? I wrote
in a column for The Trip Today. Pierre, then, in
some ways the nine four and two start detracted from
the mission statement before the year, which was to develop.
Speaker 5 (22:50):
Oh boy, you're on it again. You leaned raight on
it in a good way, and the only reason I
can critique it I've been in Dan Mus's shoes.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 5 (23:00):
First twenty games I was a head coach in the league.
We had the third best record in the league, and
all of a sudden, I thought we were a playoff team.
And then we went on a West Coast road trip
and we lost three players Brian Marchmant, Sean Burke, and
Darren Turcott. And that's just three players, and none of
those players were superstars. I would say that at that
(23:20):
time Marchmant was a great shutdown guy, and Sean Burke
was a star goal. They wouldn't say he was a
superstar goal, but he was a star. And Turcott was
a very reliable center iceman who was very good in
our system. Well, those three players cost us probably eight
or nine really big time important games because we couldn't
get him back. And that's when I knew we were
(23:41):
in trouble. And I had overestimated my team after the
first twenty games. But I learned a valuable lesson as
a young coach in the league because of it.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
I will say among the kids I really like, I mean,
I think mcgroarty's been used really well I think Kendall
mostly has except for the power play.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
Thing about Rutger is pier. Is he going to score?
Speaker 1 (24:00):
I think he might do everything, but and I think
he might do just enough of that, but I'm not sure.
Speaker 5 (24:06):
So, yes, there's a good example of what you're talking about.
He gets those high quality scoring opportunities won. There was
an amazing stay by Dobis with a stick and a
gold mouth you battle, and then there was another one
off the rust where he launched it and it's just
a little off. I don't know if he's ever going
to be a pure scorer, but he's a guy that's
going to be an amazing energy player. He can play
in your first two lines. But I think in a
(24:27):
perfect world Rutgers probably going to be a really really
high end third line player. And I'll use this as
an example for the fans. If you look at the
tape of Florida last year, their third line and I
hate the number lines was brad Marshandessa Lundell or sorry,
Anton Lundell and Lustaen. If you look at that, that
(24:50):
line was really really important for Florida. Rutger mcgroarty's going
to be a better player than Luson.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
No I agree, Pierre, like I said, and I think
I I think he'll probably score.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
I just need to see it.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
But like you said, he's all around the net right now,
so hopefully that pays off.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Pier. Great inputters. Always, Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
Enjoy the hockey, Enjoy World Juniors because you know we'll
be talking about that next week, and I'll talk.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
To you soon.
Speaker 5 (25:15):
I can't wait. Mark, Merry Christmas to you and all
the listeners. And did our great producer Tommy. And one
more thing, that was fun watching the Steelers just they
get that win.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
What an exciting game. What a weird game, Pier, especially
at the end.
Speaker 5 (25:29):
Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh, that's just a weird
old game beyond belief. But I'm happy to go one.
That was good.

Let's go to Kevin. Kevin, ask Mark anything.
Speaker 5 (27:12):
What else? Super g.
Speaker 14 (27:15):
Hey, I just want to ask you about uh parious
comments there on the talent in the league versus expansion.
And he argued with your point about you know, the
points per win or loss.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
I am not pro expansion, by the way, I do
think the talent is spread thin.
Speaker 14 (27:34):
Yeah, well, I think there's more talent in the league
serer's ever been. I think it is still thin. And
you start having injuries, it gets even thinner. But those things,
just those two things just seem to juxtapose each other
a little bit, you know, you know, owners not wanting
their teams to be out of it.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
But if the talent was that great, well.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
Like I've often said that the gms make the rules,
they they choose the method in the NHL, and gms
want the loser point because the tighter the standings, the
fewer gms get fired.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
Let's go to dj DJ.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
Ask Mark anything, good day, mister Matt I said, good day, Hey, Mark.
Speaker 8 (28:09):
I was just wondering, because I'm sure you're a pretty
thoughtful gift giver. What's the best possible gift to get.
Speaker 4 (28:15):
For a white elephant Christmas gift exchange?
Speaker 3 (28:18):
A Mark Madden cameo. There you go, go on cameo.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
Get me to send a message to whoever you're giving
the gift too great idea.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
I'll be right on that.
Speaker 8 (28:28):
Thanks Mark.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
And by the way, I just got orders for five
Christmas cameos today I am on cameo. I almost never
plug it on this show, but my god, I've done
a lot of them, and all the money goes to
send kids at North Hills High School to college via
the scholarship fund in my mother's name.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
Let's go to a talkback.
Speaker 7 (28:47):
Do you think the injury to Eazak will help or
hurt Liverpool for the rest of the season.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
It's definitely gonna hurt Liverpool. I mean he's our highest
priced get ever he came late. Hadn't rather than in
the form scored a goal when he got hurt, which
is ironic in the two to one win over Spurs
on Saturday, No, I would rather eat Sech was healthy.
I think eventually new players sometimes it takes them a
while to hit their stride.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
But Loo could Florian verts right now.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
Who was I think arguably been Liverpool's best player for
a month in the midfield.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
Let's go to a talkback.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
And Mark, you said you were going to Canada for
a concert soon.
Speaker 12 (29:26):
I was just curious, is that gonna be the guess
who's first show back?
Speaker 1 (29:30):
It is the guest Who's first show back at the
end of January at Niagara Falls, Ontario, weather permitting. As
soon as I made that reservation, I thought to myself.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
My god, that could just be ruined by weather.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
And then the guests who of course booked a bunch
of shows in the spring and summer in Canada and.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
I couldn't get on the cruise there on. I waited
too long to book it.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
But it's yeah, it's backman and comings It's going to
be great and I'm quite looking forward, weather permitting.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
Let's go to a talkback.
Speaker 14 (30:00):
Under and how badly you think Chris Latang needs a
change of scenery.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
Doesn't need a change of scenery, He just needs to
play a little smarter and better. Tanger's a valuable penguin.
What the greatest penguin defenseman? Ever, he's had a couple
of bad games, but when he settles in, he's still
a dynamic, very useful, winning hockey player. Tanger's had trouble
accepting that he needs to adjust in his game, and
sometimes he does it, but lately he is not.
Speaker 3 (30:25):
He's tried too much, all right.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
This segment brought to us by People's Natural Gas People's

Speaker 3 (30:32):
Up next, I'll talk about an idiot one five nine X.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
