and watching some of the guys toget ready for the draft next week.
And there's a there's a truth outthere in football that guys who play,
let's say, the best offensive linemanin college usually plays left tackle. That's

where the best guy plays right.Zach Martin was a left tackle at Notre
Dame. And then what they'll dois if you're a left tackle, and
then they start measuring you and they'relike, man, your arms aren't that
long, but you could play guard. And then if you're a left tackle,
and they're like, yeah, butyou're not the greatest athlete out in

space where you're gonna have to blockMicah Parsons, but you could play guard.
They just move guys to guard ifthey're missing something. So the toughest
spot to replace is left tackle,and the Cowboys don't have one, and
they don't have a center. Andso you get ready for the draft and

I'm worried that the way that theCowboys are gonna view this because of their
own negligence, is that we dohave a guy that could play left tackle,
and his name's Tyler Smith. He'scurrently your left guard and he's on
a Zach Martin career path college tackle, dominant guard when he's been asked to
play tackle in the NFL. Ehokay. But what I'm worried is that

you're picking twenty fourth in a draftwhere the guys who you think is a
rookie could come play left tackle won'tbe available for you, and they're gonna
look at their team and go,well, we have a guy that can
play it. And you're gonna takea guy who dominates and move him to
a different spot where he'll be okay, because it's easier to fill the spot
he's leaving than where he's going.And they're gonna get worse at multiple spots.

That's what I'm worried about. Andin the Morning News today, I
thought it was great because Michael Gelkin, beat writer for the Cowboys for the
Morning News, talk to Duke Maniwether, who's a friend of mine. Great
dude. He runs O line masterminds. Zach Martin trains with him, Terrence
Steele trains with him, Tyler Smithtrains with him. And he was talking
about and something that came out today. Do not move him to tackle?

Oh, he said, quote he'sa special guard, special guard, you
be an okay tackle? Yep,sure can. But I think fans like
to romanticize when he was at tacklein twenty twenty two, even though he
was a rookie. The best wayfor me to describe it is Tyler's superpowers
at guard become his kryptonite a littlebit. At tackle. He's an aggressive,

in your face football wards coming beable to jump set and upkick guys
in the past game, being ableto roll guys and have violent hands at
the point of attack, and gettingon guys early in the run game.
At tackle, you can't do thatat tackle. You have to be more
patient. You have to stay withinyour frame, within your technique. You
have to pick your spots to beable to be aggressive. And that's just
not who Tyler is as a person. And that's not Tyler at his best.

When you take the aggressiveness away fromhim. Huh, that makes sense,
And that's a professional who trains offensivelineman is warning you don't do it.
Don't do it just because you haven'tfigured out how to fill that hole
on your own. And I'm scaredthat because they haven't. Either they're going
to make that mistake ye and movehim, or they're gonna run a guy

out there that they draft that Idon't think is ready for that. And
