Be any kind of elite runner or anything like that.
You can rock up, you can walk if you'd like to. Now,
on the weekend, well a wonderful young girl she reached
her milestone of one hundred park runs. Take a listen
to this interview that i'd done at Nightcliffe Park Run
on the weekend with young Frayer Galati. We're down here
(01:34):
at Nightcliffe Park Run. It is such an awesome event.
There's hundreds of people that are here every Saturday morning.
If you want to take part, you can get down
here at seven o'clock or a bit before to warm
up and come and be part of what is an
awesome event. And well, today I reached a milestone of
one hundred park runs.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
It's taken me a few years to get here.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
But a young girl who's a friend of mine has
also reached one hundred park n when she's twelve years old,
and her name.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Is Fryer Galati.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Good morning, Fryar, Hi, how are you feeling about reaching
your one hundred park runs.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
I'm good. It's very exciting, but today was very hot.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
It has been hot, Fryar. How many years have you
been doing park run?
Speaker 3 (02:18):
I started when I was nine, so that's about four
years now. Yep.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Yeah, because she turned thirteen in a couple of months
or next month.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Don't you so since you were nine?
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Hasn't gotten any easier as you've been going along?
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Yeah? I think it has. When I was nine, I
couldn't run the full five k's and I think my
pep was thirty five, and now I'm down to almost
twenty five.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
That is awesome. You've definitely improved out. It's like you
come from a sporty.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Family as well, don't you.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Your dad loves triath lawns and he is always down here.
I reckon he encourages people more than anybody else at
park Rome.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
What do you reckon?
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Yeah, he's definitely very loud while you're out.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Oh, now your friends are here as well, I reckon.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
They must be pretty proud girl.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
What do you reckon? Are you impressed with Friyer being
able to do one hundred park runs already? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:05):
I'm so proud of her.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Pretty good yeah, oh, you have done absolutely awesome.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Now the other thing about you is you don't.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
Just turn up here and do park run, but you
also volunteer, which I reckon's fantastic. How many volunteers have
you done? You've done quite a few of those. Two.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Yeah, I think I'm almost done to my twenty fifth
or just have done my twenty fifth or something.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Anybody out there listening that's thinking, oh, maybe I'd like
to give park run a go. What would you say
to them?
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Just come along, it's fun, everyone's welcoming, you know. It's
just a nice thing to do for the community.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Absolutely, Fria, wonderful, Such an awesome move and good on you.
You should be so proud of yourself. Bangs, isn't she great?
Friar Galasti twelve years old and she's already done one
hundred park runs. What a little legend. And if you
are keen to get out and about get active, be
part of something, maybe try running. Maybe you've never gone
(04:01):
out for much of a run and you want to
feel a bit motivated by other people being active as well.
Park run is a great way to do that. It's
a free event, happens every Saturday. You can do it
