Speaker 1 (00:01):
Today's Daily Highlight from Elvis Duran in the morning show.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Hey, so you know we're.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
Talking a lot about The Hunting Wives, right, huge show.
I mean it's getting a lot of traction. A lot
of people are watching it but beinging. I mean, this
is one of those really really overly binged shows depending
on who you talk to. But I don't know of
many people who just watched a few episodes and gave
it up. They watched all the way to the end
in one night. It's insane. I know, GANI just started it.

(00:28):
She's still jury still out if you're still in episode one, yes, but.

Speaker 4 (00:31):
I'm sure it'll be great.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
I get very distracted.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Yeah, well you know, No, you know, I'm sure there
are a lot of people that don't care for it
at all. And that's I get that, no big deal.
I just I appreciate why people love it. I'm into
the I guess the science of why people are addicted
to it. Yeah, because it's trashy, it's salacious, lots of sex,
I mean, backstabbing and murder.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
It's got everything you need, right nice. But you know,
we talk about.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Shows all the time on this show. I mean, how
many for thirty years we've been talking about, you know,
the hottest shows people are watching.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Have we ever led you astray? Yes?

Speaker 5 (01:11):
I think we yes.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Yeah, So okay, tell GODDI what I said while she
was out of the road.

Speaker 6 (01:15):
Yeah, well, because how many times have we said we
like a show and most of the time you don't
like the show?

Speaker 2 (01:22):
We disagree.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
We disagree a lot, so yeah, I know, so we
we will come on and champion a show and go
on and on about, oh my god, everyone's watching it
is great. And then some people go, oh my god,
I'm gonna watch, and they watch and they text us like,
I don't get it.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
You people are stupid.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Yeah, how could you do this to me?

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Exactly? So let us stuff recently. I'll remember it with you.
Of course, every show we like you hate.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
Yeah, you guys were like, you gotta watch it, and
I watched, I said, what the hell is this?

Speaker 1 (01:50):
She did, like Ted Lasso loved it. So that was
a good one. Okay, she liked that one. We recommended
that one.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
We got one.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Yeah all right, so text me now at fifty five
one hundred, what show where we like going on and
on about it and you're you're just you don't get it.
You're like you people, I don't understand you. If you
like that show, I don't like you. Text me now
fifty five one want to hear from you.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
We've also told people specifically to not watch something because
it was so bad, and then they watched it and
they were like, I only watched it because you guys
have done how bad it was? How dare you?

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Yeah, yeah, that's true. We told you don't do it.
We helped the bad shows too.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Right, And then there are shows we say that are
stinkers and they'll go, I don't get it, it's my
favorite show ever and not feel awful because I'm insulting someone.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
I love The Happy Gilmore. That was great.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Okay, Well, so you know that's one of those polarizing movies.
Froggy love Happy Gilmore because you golf. You hated it.
It was about golf, and you're a gold at reason.

Speaker 6 (02:45):
I think I liked it because I didn't know anyone
that was in it golf wise, Like to me, they
just actors.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
They're bad at So Froggy, Froggy, what is it you
didn't like it at Happy gil More?

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Part of the same thing. The other people hated it
about it.

Speaker 7 (02:58):
I just thought it was too forced, like they tried
to just recreate the first movie all over again and
redo every single thing, and I just thought it was
really forced and kind of stupid, like when they were
slathering up Travis Kelcey with Honey and the Bare Tax
and I'm like, this is I'm like, this is done.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
It's supposed to be stupid. That's the see. That's the thing.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
I can appreciate shows. I appreciate shows don't because I
really like them. I just appreciate they knew what they
were doing and who they were going for.

Speaker 6 (03:22):
And you can't listen to Froggy anyway. One of his
favorite movies is Borat very I mean, how many even
say in this conversation.

Speaker 8 (03:29):
You know what?

Speaker 3 (03:30):
I bitch simooned about his love for Borat. I actually
liked Borat a lot. It is so good because it's
so stupid. It's it's it's they succeed being stupid.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
But same thing with that Gilmore, it's you go in
knowing it's going to be stupid.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Is a better stupid than happy? Gilmore too stupid And
I like him a lot. I like you know anyway,
So yeaht Nate, what's up. You know what if somebody
accosted me.

Speaker 9 (03:55):
Remember we were raving about Yellowstone at the very beginning,
and of course it did kind of go down hell
in my personal opinion. But the first few seasons I
thought were incredible, and somebody accosted me and said that
show is so stupid?

Speaker 2 (04:09):
How can you and Elvis like that? We just like it,
Like you're taking this personally, That's why we like it.
We're stupid. Yeah, there, we're idiots. By the way.

Speaker 6 (04:20):
The guy who played Borat Sasha Baron Cohen. He when
he first came on the scene, he was huge in
the UK and overseas. He had a show where he
would interview like politicians and people out on the scene
who I remember that who didn't know who he was,
and somehow he would get interviews with him and he
would ask the most inappropriate questions. It was so freaking funny.

(04:44):
So if you can ever watch that stuff, oh my gosh,
you'll die, it's so funny.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Didn't he always sort of stir that end of his
movies as well.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Oh yeah, definitely.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
It looked like it looked like he was surprising on
the people. Yeah, I don't know anyway, So yeah, so
text me, now, what did we tell you should watch?
And you did and you hated this for it?

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Sorry?

Speaker 3 (05:01):
You know what, we just love reading and keeping up
with pop culture this and that. This is something we've
done forever. It's what we do, right Yeah. And Danielle
of course fills this in with her report every hour.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
So we.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
Are very proud of how we do keep up to
date with trends and things like that on TV and
in theaters of this.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
And that, right.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Doesn't mean we're a fan of all of it, but
like I said earlier, we're fans of fans. We love
fans because the way you get excited about shows. Even
if we don't like the show, we're excited for you.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
For instance, back in the day, Seinfeld in its day,
it was a huge, massive show.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
It was an event.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Everyone watched Seinfeld every week, you'd watch it live, right, Yeah.
And I came on the air one day, remember this
scary years ago? Oh yeah, I said, I don't get it.
Not a fan, good god. I mean they were picketing
downstairs and wanted to burn down the castle.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
It was awful.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Dare you yea.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Yeah exactly, how dare me? I said?

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Look, I appreciate that people love it, understand how the
formula works, and you know, every every episode is it
is what it is.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
I just wasn't into that kind of humor, right, No,
you were not, but I was excited.

Speaker 5 (06:10):
I was.

Speaker 10 (06:10):
You know, it was crazy because you els the way
that you said it. It was just like, oh, yeah, you
know what. I watched all the episodes, you studied them,
and you're like, I'm not a fan.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
But that sucks because.

Speaker 10 (06:19):
I'm like, how did you see the same thing I
saw and not like.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
It because I didn't see the same thing yea off
during those same episodes that you can. Yeah, I'm not
see exactly.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
We're different. I totally respect the fact that you love
Seinfeld because you know what, a lot of people love Seinfeld.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
I mean, I'm not stupid.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
I'm just it's if I had a week off to
do sit around and to hang out internal TV, I
would not watch Seinfeld.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
I wouldn't do it. Yeah right, Okay, so we agree
to disagree.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Yeah, so I so earlier, like timid as to you,
I said, hey, text me now about shows that we
told you we loved that we were you think we
were wrong about and vice versa. Yeah, and so one
said a text like, I think he's on the line.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Is he is? Larry here? Yeah? Here he is.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Let's talk to Larry. He's been listening for a while. Hi, Larry,
how you doing?

Speaker 5 (07:12):
Hey, good morning everyone. Yes, I've been listening for a while.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Okay, So you actually said a text about what I
said about Seinfeld?

Speaker 5 (07:19):
Right you did? You just kind of stole my thunder?
But yeah about you know, I'm a longtime listener, so
many many years ago, you after one or two episodes,
you like, this show ain't gonna make it. Don't watch it?

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Wait, hold on, I said it's not gonna make it.
I don't know if I said that, did I?

Speaker 8 (07:37):
Well, I don't remember your exact words years ago? Okay,
why you implied that we should watch like Pee Wee
Herman or something instead something like that.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Okay, I buy that. I buy that. Okay, go ahead, Larry,
go ahead.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
See can I comment on the Hunting Wives or we
have to still stick to Seinfeld?

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Okay, well, my boy would.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
I didn't care for Seinfeld, but I do respect you
and how much you love Seinfeld.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
I get it. Seinfeld was huge. I'm not taking that
away from him.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
Well, yeah, it's a co classic. Now my kids are
watching it and enjoying it.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
Wow for kids, Okay, So okay, so bring it up
to today The Hunting Wives, which I binge, I love it.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
It is so my wife and I one night we're like, oh,
you know, what can we watch on Netflix tonight? And
usually it's the case where we you know, we looked
at all the what's on and we wind up not
watching anything because we can't decide. But I said, listen, tonight,
we're just gonna watch the first thing that pops up,
whatever Netflix recommends, and we'll watch it. So we started
watching The Honting Wives. We thought it was a movie.

(08:44):
After forty five minutes the credits came up, We'll like, crap,
this is this is a series. We're gonna have to
watch it. And she got hooked on it. She wanted
to watch, you know, binge, watch it. I said, now,
let's watch one episode every night so we have something
to do. Well, we loved it. I won't give it away.
I know you don't want to give it away for
your listeners, but I all I have to say is

(09:06):
I think Sophie is stupid for what she did in
the last episode.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Okay, that's that's good.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
You know everyone has at least one episode where they
do something stupid.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
Yeah, well, everyone knows that Tesla has cameras all over
its car, so I'll leave it at that.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Okay, Yeah, yeah, you're you're You're starting to skate on
some thin ice here, But I'm glad you. We agree
on Hunting Wives. We do not agree on Seinfeld. But
I know I'm in the minority when it comes to Seinfeld,
and I'm okay with that. What does it make me
less of a person?

Speaker 5 (09:34):
Does it?

Speaker 1 (09:35):
I feel the same way as you about Seinfeld.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
And then whenever I say anything about Friends, Oh gone.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
Okay, okay, you know what, Gandhi, I'm with you. I
never was a Friends fan ever.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Man, this is a tough I want to get it.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
I mean, I get it, but I just don't like it.

Speaker 7 (09:51):
It's okayed, I tried very hard to get into Friends
and couldn't you too.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Huh? Look at that?

Speaker 1 (09:59):
We're friends anymore?

Speaker 2 (10:00):
What's that? Larry?

Speaker 5 (10:02):
Well, I'm known on TikTok is Long Island, Larry, and
I'm trying to get a million million followers and I'm.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
A little behind I'm wondering if throw out there.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Let me hold on, let me see, let me see
what you're doing over there.

Speaker 8 (10:16):
TikTok.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
Yeah, okay, listen, I only have one hundred and seventy
six followers, but I'm trying to get a million. A million.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
You're getting close. You're getting close. All wait, what's your
last name? Larry?

Speaker 5 (10:36):
Do I have to give that to you?

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Well? Are you Larry?

Speaker 8 (10:40):
Do?

Speaker 2 (10:40):
I I think I do? I know you?

Speaker 5 (10:44):
No? You don't know me. Okay, I want to get
to know you, guys. I want to come in and
do a show with you.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
No, Larry, come on, do you like Seinfeld? We can't
let you in the door. All right, Larry, listen, thank
you for calling it. Follow Long Island, Larry on TikTok.
He wants a million followers. He's nowhere near there. We're
gonna get him there.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
He does some good stuff.

Speaker 6 (11:09):
He helps kids that need help and stuff like with
you know, charities and so yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
Okay, there you let's here for long? All right, Let's
go talk to Megan on eighteen and see what she's
gonna yell at.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Me about it.

Speaker 8 (11:20):
Now.

Speaker 6 (11:20):
I don't think we should talk to her. I see
what she doesn't like, and okay.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
Danielle, let her speak. Maybe, daniel.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
We're doing well, So tell Danielle which shows she loves
and Gandhi loves as well.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
And you just cannot stand it?

Speaker 5 (11:36):
Go ahead, I can.

Speaker 11 (11:38):
I can't stand the Office.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
Not everybody has taste.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
That's okay, that's okay, all right, So what is it
about the see?

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Okay, I'll be honest with you, Megan.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
I probably saw two episodes and I didn't care for
it either. But what is it you don't care about
the Office? What is it about it you don't care
for I just.

Speaker 11 (12:01):
Think the humor doesn't pick up for me. I feel
like it's just like him randomly staring into the camera
that that just didn't hit the funny to me.

Speaker 6 (12:12):
You don't feel like cringey when you watch it, like
so uncomfortable, Like it's just feel that's what the show's about.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Okay, all right? Look, you know here's the thing about
the Office. Hear me out, hear me out. Danielle gone
to hear me out? And maybe I'm speaking for Megan
as well. It really isn't a punchline show. They don't
really set up jokes and have punchlines. It's really just storytelling,
and they do it really they do it really well,
and they're in funny situations that are very cringey.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
I get that.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
I think there's definitely some punchline like jokes that just
hit you over the head.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
But I I get it.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
Our Deanna here, she hates the office and she said
the same thing. She said, I don't like how it
makes me feel uncomfortable.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Oh yeah, but that's what the office is about. It's
just you sit there and you go, oh god, oh gosh,
that's so fabulous.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Okay, And I love that you love it. I love that.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Danielle loves it so much. She drives to Scranton, Pennsylvania
once once a quarter.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
I mean, prison Mike.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Come on, okay, prison Mike. That had no idea who is?
But I'm loving prison. Thank you very much, Megan. I
appreciate it. And people, Oh now, people are ragging on Sopranos.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Oh please do not do not go there.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
There we go, Laura almighty, No, why no, how come
they aren't allowed to?

Speaker 2 (13:23):
I get it.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Sopranos has a deliberate pace. It's it's not for everyone,
but it's well written.

Speaker 10 (13:28):
The character development How do you not fall in love
with a show like that, especially if they're not going
to live in the Northeast, you have no excuse to
not love.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
Maybe maybe they don't love live in the Northeast. Scary.
We don't know. I'm just saying, Froggy, Froggy, do you
like sopranos? Yes or no?

Speaker 7 (13:47):
And you're all there It's okay, I mean I do.
I don't dislike it. I get while people why people
like it. I understand it. Me personally, I'm just not
really that big into it. But I don't live that lifestyle.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
I never have.

Speaker 5 (13:59):
I don't have to.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
I see living in the Northeast.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
But look at the Bronx and Brooklyn screaming at Froggy.

Speaker 6 (14:10):
You don't go killing people like what?

Speaker 2 (14:14):
Get it? While you like it? I understand that. I
know what you're talking about. I live in the Northeast,
and I think it's okay. I like it. I think
it's great.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Actually, I think it's great writing. I do think it's
great writing. But I understand how people don't like it.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
I get it. It's okay, okay to disagree.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Wow, I need a break. Yeah, this has been wild.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
You guys like our opinions are correct, but nobody else
is are so this is weird.
