to be here.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
We were just talking about if you guys did jingle Ball.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Yeah. I don't think the Spice Girls ever made it.
I think it was something we always wanted to do,
but I don't know why we never made it.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Here, I was saying, we're gonna google the picture.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
It has to be. I mean, it's such an incredible event.
I love it because it's such a special time of year,
isn't it. And what I love about these events is
you always discover artists that you didn't realize you loved,
you know, because when you see people live it's so
different to hearing them.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
On the radio one hundred percent, and like you may
not necessarily know the name, but you know the song.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Yeah, totally, definitely.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Okay, So your single Sweat is out now, yes, and
also the full album talk about it What does sweat mean?

Speaker 2 (01:03):
So Sweat is my new single and it is a
really great introduction to my new album, which is on
May first next year. And I wanted to have a
little bit more fun with my music. I've been DJing
for about eight years now, so I wanted to bring,
like my pop music a bit closer to the house
music that I play when I'm out in the clubs.
And this is like the perfect blend, and it has

(01:25):
that whole sporty spice feel. Of course, it's been inspired
by my love of fitness, and also there's a fantastic
sample from the beautiful and wonderful Down of Us. I
have a sample from work that Body I know. So yeah,
So all these things have just come together and just
created this for me. It's a bit of a new sound,
but I feel like it's the right sound for me.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
How does it feel putting out an album at this
stage in your career, the stage in your life, something
that you're so passionate about.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Oh my gosh, I love it. I just found that
I love what I do so much and I always have,
but the elder I get, I appreciate it more, you know,
And I feel like, especially since I started DJing. I've
just found this new passion and it's really impacted every
area of my work.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
That's awesome. So let me ask you a question. Do
you play the new album for your Spice sisters? Oh?

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Have I played them? Well, they've heard this single now
it's been out for a little while, but in all honesty,
I haven't really had the opportunity to do some.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Okay, right, So so next week you're performing a DJ
set at the first annual g Little Ball. Yes, okay,
we're add to night celebrating music, fashion and queer culture,
which we love. So just tell us about that set.
How do you craft that set list or that specific audience?

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Easy? Easy, Easy easy. There is some like absolute gems
that you know are just so welcomed in that community.
I'm a very proud ally to the LGBTQ plus community,
and this is a wonderful opportunity to play the best
songs that be loads of Spice scales. I have loads
of fun like mashing up Spice Girls with some of

(03:00):
like cold dance classics, and you know, just it's a
room full of love. I always feel so much love
from that audience.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
We can't thank you enough for being here a pleasure.
Our iHeart jingle Ball just such a pleasure. You're such
an icon, you're such a legend. And be love you, Melsie,
Thank you, thank you, and happy holiday.
