Speaker 1 (00:00):
And talk Bowls. Jason Pudiker's here, Monintia, Jason Morning Keeps Radio,
Sun shines out and the balls season is carrying on.
Still plenty of well winners and champions to be found.
And speaking of which, we'll take a bit of a
closer look at a lot of these Champion of Champion
Pairs events. And shall we start with the women.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Yeah, So the Champion Champion Pairs for the woman that
was played a couple of weeks ago. In the quarter
finals we saw Johnsonville beating Stakes Valley twenty shots to seventeen,
nine I beating Mirimar twenty two to nine, Patoni Central
beating Massiev twenty one to four, in Tawa beating Island
Bay sixteen thirteen. So that season semi finals we'll see
Johnsonville versus Nine Eye and Patoni Central versus Tawa. As

(00:41):
we're spoken about before today and tomorrow, we've got the
Champion Champion Finals weekend, so that'll be played over the weekend,
and the men the quarterfinals Tawer beat Ea Spawn seventeen thirteen,
States Valley beating Newtown twenty three to seven, Upper Hut
beating Victoria sixteen fifteen, t t bab Plymoton twenty shots
to four. So semifinals this weekend we'll see Tarwa versus

(01:04):
States Valley and Upper Hut versus TT Bay.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
All right, all the best of those eight teams and
semifinals action across the women and the men. And what
about the singles.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Yes, in the Champion Chaps singles and the women quarter finals,
we saw silver Stream beating Island Bay twenty one to fourteen,
States Valley beating Hut twenty one nineteen, Victoria beating t
Taba twenty one seventeen, and Tarwa beating whip By twenty
one eleven. And we played the semi finals of this
as well, so silver Stream beating States Valley twenty one
to thirteen. Now in the other semi final, Victoria Lee

(01:35):
Tarwa nineteen thirteen. That was suspended due to bad light
as it got late in the day. So they'll finish
that one off at first thing and then Clearhendra from
silver Stream. We wade in the wonder of that one
to play in the final. The men quarter finals, but
Tony Central beating nine O twenty one eighteen, TJ Bay
beating Upper Hut twenty one twenty, Newtown beating Correy twenty

(01:56):
one eleven, Victoria beating Island Bay twenty one four. In
our semi finals we saw Patoni Central beating Titahi Bay
twenty one seven and Victoria beating Newtown twenty one sixteen.
So the final we see Patony Central versus Victoria, and
this is Steve Ditford versus Ray Martin, both part of
the Wellington Men's Open Rep team that won earlier in
the season. So that should be a cracking final.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
All right, some exciting action there, and the mixpairs.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
In the mixed pears quarter finals Hut beating Island Bay
sixteen ten, Whipby beating Plymoton fourteen eight, Eastbourne beating Wanui
eleven ten, and Victoria beating Johnsonville thirteen eleven. So in
the semifinals we've got Whitby versus Hut, but Hut had
to default that game, so Whipby are into the final already,
and that's Elizabeth and Simon Allis and they awaiting the

(02:43):
winners of Eastbourne versus Victoria. A couple of husband and
wife combinations here, Corey and Nicky Carroll up against Ben
and Helen King. She'd be an interesting want to watch
Ben and Helen have won forty eight center titles between them,
Corey and Nicky have won four and they are all
Cory because this is Nicky's first ever competition that she's

(03:03):
actually played competitive bowles. She's paid some business house stuff,
but her first ever event at the club. Winning the
mixed peers. Now to the semi final, the champions Champions.
So great effort there by.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Nicky, amazing. So she just finally decided to compete a
bit more.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Cory's just probably dragged her along, mate.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Love it all right, And I know we've chatted, but
about the junior singles, just remind us exactly where that's at.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Yeah, So the junior singles, we're down to the finals.
On the women's side, we see Whipby versus Island Bay.
That's Elizabeth against Carmela Ikeolano. And on the men's side,
States Valley versus p Tony Central. That's Jordan Keen against
James McMillan. As we spoke before, a couple of our
juniors young players coming through both played open men's reps

(03:45):
this year, so that ac should be a good final.
In the triples semi finals, woman, we have Johnsonvill versus
nine I and Island Bay versus Victoria. And on the
men's side, we've got Newtown versus Tawa, and Victoria versus
nine I and the fours. We're down to the final
all of the women's where nine O will play Stakes
Valley in the semi final of the men's where Kendala

(04:06):
will play nine I and Hut versus Lyle Bait. So
we've got a boot weekend. The bowls out at nine
to ey. Two great days. We'll find eleven more champions
and they'll be our last champions for the year. But
we'll also find out who's our women's Player of the Year,
the men's Player the Year and the mens of women's
champion clubs as well. We'll find out after the weekend.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
All right, fantastic and we'll report back next week for
one final slot. Yeah, one more time yep, look forward
to all right, jas, you have a great weekend, thanks
as always, and we'll see you next Saturday.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Cheers Adam.
