Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good ay, how well, very good things. Always looking forward
to another weekend's cricket match. Shall we start in the
women's competition heading into the weekend, What have we got
to look forward to today?
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Yeah, for sure, Well to today's actually the first round
of their forty over competition. So I may have mentioned before,
but they've got another split in formats put together this year.
Subit of T twenty then forty overs and then we
go back to T twenty. So today is the first
round of forty overs, so that'll be great for them
to get out and play the longer format. But their
T twenty did carry on as usual. Last week they
(00:32):
had a festival round of matches which was the morning
an afternoon game up at transfor memorial results. Wise, it
was back to business for the champions. At North City
they picked up a couple of wins, their first win
coming against Upper Hut by seven wickets. City Suburbs and
Collegians had a fairly low scoring game in the morning,
Collegians coming out there by seven wickets as well, and
(00:56):
to Tony. They were up against Johnsonville and it was
a win by six wickets for Patoni. So the usual
suspects starting to pick up those wins and gather a
bit of momentum. In the afternoon, Collegians they had a
comfortable win against Johnsonville by ninety runs, City Suburbs beaked
Upper Heart by one wicket and Patonia North went head
(01:16):
to head in and a rather big one there and
North City came out on top by twenty five runs,
so they'll be rapped to get one over what has
been very much their chief rival over the last couple
of years. And in terms of the ladder going into today,
North are on top with fourteen points, closely followed by
Collegians and City Suburbs, so it is tied at the
(01:38):
top already as we head into the forty over rounds today.
And speaking of today, City Suburbs there against POTTONI that
one's on Carrory Park at Alex Moore Park. Johnsonville are
at home against North City and back up at Trenton
Upper Hut another home game for them there against Collegians.
So some exciting fixtures in the women's competition today, all right.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Good luck to them as they changed formats and Matt
we'll go to the men's Premiere one competition. Obviously deeply
in Trench now and to one day cricket.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Yeah, that's right, five rounds in to the season now
and they've now played three of their fifty over fifty
over games. Last week at Karori Park, it was a
very low scoring affea there between Krory and Onslow and
Onslow came out on top by seven wickets Karrori making
seventy three all out and Onslow coming home comfortably after
(02:28):
just ten overs. Tier they were up against Upper Heart
that unfortunately was at Fraser Park and we're just experiencing
a few issues with the number one there and they
weren't able to get on unfortunately due to a little
bit of overnight rain that was heavier than anticipated. So
both teams shared the points there and VIC they were
up against East at Calbourn Park, first game at Calvin
Park for the men's premiere side this year and VIC
(02:53):
won it in a thriller by just two runs, East
making two hundred sorry Vic batting first and making two
hundred and twenty six nine and the East feld Josh
short at two hundred and twenty four or all out.
So a fantastic game there at Calvin Park between two
pretty evenly matched teams and we will be wrapped to
get the win there by such a close fine margin
(03:13):
Hut District there against Pottoni. That one was at Hut
Wreck and Hut District the Peace cup holders really throwing
their weight around in that one. They made three hundred
and thirty two for four in their fifty overs and
they dismissed Potoni for one hundred and eighty six. So
a comfortable win there for Hut to get their one
day campaign back on track after two opening defeats. On
to today another round of fifty overs for the men.
(03:36):
In Premiere one. Carori, they're at home again against Upper
Hut Easts at home at Kilberny Park against Hut District
Patoni and Tighter. That game will be played at the
Hut Wreck. As per what I just said regarding Fraser,
still still having a couple of problems getting the guys
on that wicket, so that one will be transferred to
the hut Wreck if you want to see a bit
of Patoni and Tighter in action. And vic Uni they
(03:58):
are at home again at Calvin Park against Onslow. So
some really good round, really good games for the next round.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Today and Premier one fantastic all right, yeah, great games
indeed and down A division and Division two.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Yeah, Premier two, so that was their first round of
fifty overs. Last week, having finished the T twenty a
little bit later than prem one, North and Johnsonville went
head to head in a low scoring one at alex
Norse City, coming out on top there by three wickets
and they'll be happy there having got the win against
the recently crowned T twenty champs Johnsonville. Johnsonville I think
(04:34):
would have been a little bit shocked to come out
on the wrong end here, but a tight game with
the amount of wickets that tumbled. In a Winston North
Collegians they were against waan Nui. That one was at
Anderson Park and WinUI got the win by two wickets
and at nine I Park nine I got a one
wicket win over Sri Lankan Sports Club. So some really
tight opening fifty over rounds there and Premire two and
(04:57):
today we move on to round two the fifty overs.
Why they had their first home game at brian Heath
Park against nine I Sri Lankan Sports, their first time
going of the season at grenad and North against Johnsonville
and North City are back on London Park against Wellington Collegiance.
So again, like the unser grades, some really good match
ups today to go and check out if you can
(05:19):
at your local camps.
