Speaker 1 (00:00):
Time to head the winning cricket. Here on the All
(00:01):
Sports Breakfast of this Saturday morning, Matt Wilson joins us
morning to you, Matt morning, how are going very well,
my friend? Let's talk Men's Premier cricket. The results from
last week?
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Yeah sure so, division on you and Chatfield Trophy. It
was on to round two last weekend. Karrori. We're up
against Onslow at Karrori Park. Very low scoring affair that one,
Karrori getting home by four wickets over Onslow to kick
start their season with a win. Vic Uni were up
against East at Calbourn Park. Very good win for vic Uni.
(00:33):
East have been in a bit of form recently and
recent T twenty winners. But yeah, Vick coming home with
the win there by fifty one runs. At Calbourn and
Heart District. We're up against Tider at Miramar Park, that
game being transferred from the Hut into Town just due
to an issue at the hut Wreck. Very high scoring
(00:54):
affair as well on an artificial wicket. Tighter posting four
hundred and twenty eight for nine as a club record
on a very small ground. I might say that still
a record nonetheless, and they bowled out Hut District for
two hundred and ninety two, so being to tighter there
in Division one. Onto today's fixtures in New and Chatfield
(01:15):
it's on blow up against Hut District. That one's at
the Enville Park. We've got Eastern Suburbs up against Kerrori
at Kilberni and Tier are back at home on Fraser
Park one against Victoria University in Division.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Yep, far away bit sorry about it, yeah all.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
But in Division two in the Hazlet Trophy. Last week
it was Platoni up against Nine Eye Patoni Wreck and
Patoni really continuing on as they have so far the
season with a dominant win over nine Eye by ten wickets.
They bowled out nine Eye for one hundred and forty
one and got home with some great batting at the
(01:54):
top of the order. Johnsonville they were up against Wainui
and that one they just got home there two point
fifty four they posted and bowled out Whinery for two
hundred and thirty. They're winning by twenty four runs. And
Upper Heart we're up against North City at Bartonoval and
again Upper Hearts they managed to sneak home by three
wickets and that one over North so pretty pretty tight
(02:15):
one there on to today and the Hasler it's nine
to eye against Upper Hearts. That one's at nine O Park.
Patoni they are up against Wainui Amata at Potoni Wreck
one and North They are up against Johnsonville at Linden Park.
So some exciting fixtures across the men's top two grades.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Today, of course we go to look at the window
and keeping on that weather in cricket, the summer of
cricket continues. What about the women's division, where are at
with that?
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Yeah, So the women they've actually had two rounds of
T twenty, but they've got a split format comp this year,
so they moved to round three today. But it's actually
the first round of their forty over competition and we'll
move back to T twenty in a few weeks. So
today in the forty over comp for the women, it's
Patoni up against Collegians and defending champs'll be looking to
(03:00):
get their forty over campaign underway there with a win.
Upper Huts up against Johnsonville that's at Trenton Memorial Park,
and City Suburbs there against North City at Calbourne Park.
And just quickly on last week's T twenty results Johnsonville.
They tried but just couldn't quite do enough to trouble Patony.
(03:21):
Last week Petony winning that one by six wickets. North
City they got a dominant win over Upper Hut at
London Park and Collegians they were beaten by City Suburbs
by eight wickets at Anderson Park. So some exciting opening
rounds for the women have taken place in the T
twenty onto their forty overs today hopefully, but we'll see.
It's not looking too flash out there at the moment.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
