Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello, Ellis Braiding.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Morning, Luke, how we this morning?
Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good? Did you get to the netball last night?
Speaker 2 (00:06):
I didn't get there in person, but I had it
on the TV and it was very good to watch.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
Oh yeah, so you're a fan of the overtime decider.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Oh look, when the cramp started settling in, I was like,
was there like, it's.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
Gotta be tough for the players? A yeah, Well because
just mindset wise, you must go right okay, you know
you're for the full game, and then at the end
of it you're like, oh, cricky, we've got to go again.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Yeah. I think the coaches had more of a tough
decision in that last but we were clearly ahead and
it was pretty pretty obvious we were going to take
the win. I did think, like, is she going to
roll people off? So they've got a little bit more
than just a twelve minute break before they have to
play that last But because she started her lineup for
those two second or there's two seven minute halfs with
(00:49):
with the top team, and from what I could from
my opinion, I was like, yep, that's the strongest, strongest seven.
But it would have been nice if maybe a couple
of them had a bit more of a break before rolling.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Into the athleagues. I'll take your word for it, because
I was well and truly in bed boy then and
I feel for all those parents who now have to
back it up the sporting. You know, getting kids to
school made for a late night. If you drove me
and then back.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
I think it would have been worth it.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
The noise from the crowd, great atmosphere.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Yeah, yeah, it looked pretty. It looked pretty epic. My
niece was up there and my brother, so I haven't
got the download from them yet, but I'm sure it
was definitely worth the trip.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Nice. Hey, how wonderful that conditions have come right, not
just for the AMP show tomorrow and said today, but
tomorrow we've got County athletics.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Yes, so athletics over at the Domain at the Domain
Oval so nine am kck off, well not really kick off,
but they start at nine am. So this is four years,
five to eight kids who.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
These are the athletes that have done well at their
respective school.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yeah, yeah, so within their schools, and sometimes it's mixed
between two schools, but it's sort of the first, second,
and third play things, so they get to go along
and face other schools. So there's got their just discuss
shop but sprints their long jump and high jump in
their long distance.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
So yeah, quite cool, right on, Good luck to everybody
involved in that. What else is on your list?
Speaker 2 (02:11):
So is it? That's Friday Saturday? Pretty cool? Mission Mount
Summers is taking place, but.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
I've heard this is brutal. Yeah. There's a race down
south called the Revenants, which takes you through central Otago
and the aim of it is as many as we
can get, not to complete. Oh gosh, like if you
complete that then you're doing well as Mission Mount Summer's
roughly the scene.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Don't think that's the overall the outcome that they are wanting.
Mc Glenn Curry is part of the the race director,
so familiar face, he knows the space well. They offer
a forty two kilometa marathon, a twenty one half, and
ten and five k trail run options as well, so.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Something for everyone scaling the mountain. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Yeah, so there's a bit a bit of height with
that as well. Even though we ten and five k,
they do do a little bit of a climb, so
they've got that feel of real trial running, I guess.
But the forty two starts and finishers at the Stavely Store,
which I understand is open from about six thirty so
you can get your coffee and go along and watch
the competitors and the athletes take off from safe. I
(03:19):
think it'll be an awesome vibe yeah, and yet something to
go and support, especially if you're in training to go
along as well. But registrations have closed so if unfortunately,
Luke you can't enter, they should definitely go and support
and watch and being part of that atmosphere neat And
then on Sunday, so speaking athletics, there might be some
(03:41):
of our local kids from the Ashburn and Athletics Club
but taking part in the Arthur's Cup, which isn't timoru
if you are a part of the athletes club and
missus opportunity. There'll be another sort of competition later in
the month and to get in touch with your athletics
club members if you're about that. And then one last thing,
(04:01):
Girls Smash Cricket starts on Wednesday, so next week will
be the first session six weeks on a Wednesday for
years two to eight girls at four pm Nogia needed
it's free. They're really keen to get some new members
along and Yeah Wednesday Nights for Girls Cricket
