Speaker 1 (00:02):
Out to hines Worth the dairy farmer cole Groves. Morning, morning, loke,
how are you good? How's the last week of weather
been at your place?
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Ah? You've never probably had this week the pattern you
go from twenty six in northwesters to sleet and snow
and rain and yeah, it's it's been.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
An interesting October, erratic at best. No no damage. God,
well on with a special meeting today it could be
a bit of time in the office. Fonterra shareholders being
asked to approve the sale of consumer businesses the likes
of Mainland and Anchor to another global dairy giant Lectalis,
(00:39):
which sounds like a man's performance drug and all fens
three point eight billion dollars. Does it get your vote?
Speaker 2 (00:45):
It did get my vote. I'm only a small shareholder
because we're still building a shareholding up, but yeah, he
has got to our vote. And everyone I've spoken to
is pretty positive about the sale. It's not just the
money thing. It's those Anchor and the Mainland brands. You
know don't return a messive meticare for Fontier, so you
know they did the worst thing with tip top I
reckon that's worked really well and you're just going to
(01:06):
trust what they're putting in front of us. I've never
got a huge amount of money coming back to the
economy though.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Yeah, a good chance to pay down some date. Winston
Peters though he's not happy. He says we're giving it
away and in the long run will regret it.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
I think he needs to sit in his own lane.
It's the polite terms. No, I don't think we will
regret it. You know, Frontier, Miles and and Peter have
got a play there, and they've obviously tied the milk
to that company for a long time, which is you know,
we're still supplying them and they're still going to produce
the products. I'll still be an anchoring mainland supporter. There's
a unique thing about me. I can tell the difference
(01:41):
between mainly battery ink and milk and anything else. Yeah,
we can do a challenge one day.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
It all comes on the same factory, doesn't that.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Oh no, it takes the same cow.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
What.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Yeah, I'll do a challenge with you one day and
you can see if I'm right.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
Well, maybe you could bring along some of that to
help so I burn at the AMP show on set today. Yeah,
I'm lined up for this chili eating competition. You're going
to be at the show.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Yeah, so well we will try and shoot the end
for a couple of hours tomorrow without the kids, which
is easier and you can look at the machinery and
talk to people. And then my son's got he WANs
pet lamb, the champion lamb at Hinds Schools. He's got
the lamb to go and they also into quite a
few of the kids things. And you know that little pavilion.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Yeah, it's to write a passage, isn't it the pet lamb.
I got an email yesterday from Jason Taylor at leg
Moore School. It's the pet day today. You must had
yours recently?
Speaker 2 (02:36):
When do we hear there? About the middle of September.
So we head it for the whole for the schooldays.
So yeah, it's probably the biggest day for hind School
Country Day. It's really cool sing all the kids with
pets and dogs and we've had ducks for for and
a rat and yep, so entertaining.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
You're going to watch the kids with the guinea pigs
around those who bring their pet dogs.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Yeah, yeah, we try and keep the dogs of the
faring in the field.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Just in case they're on high alert. What's the pet
lamb's name.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Oh, then you've got me Chakole. Yeah, that's a Suffoclens
that's got a black face and black legs. So he
called a chacole.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
And he'll be getting all the pamper treatment into the weekend,
no doubt.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
Yeah, and then he can go with the other pit
leans in the last six years in the po at home.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
See them free.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Yeah yeah, yeah,
