Quiz fever Ed Medillo's on Burnett Street. In addition to
the usual Tuesday Night, we had a fundraiser of a
planket last night and the next Wednesdayly fifteenth, there's another
charity quiz, this time in support of ken Beat. Caught
up with Fiona Giles to share about the e Beiding workshops.

There's a great time out for people who are dealing
with illness, trauma and loss, and it's a wonderful thing
to be able to do, to have a bit of
creative time time out in a safe space. For example,
we work quite often with the Cancer Society, we work
with the settled refugee community, the women's shelters and just

being creative, getting lost in the moment.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
It's welcome distraction. Yes, yeah. Are you wild by some
of the creations that are put together?
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Oh so much? Yeah, there's some beautiful I mean every
single item is beautiful as well. But just to see
how every individual person puts their own spin on things
or maybe picks the colors that they love best, and
you would you wouldn't think they'd go well necessarily, and
then they put them together and you go, wow, this
is beautiful.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
What happens to the jewelry or they get.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
To take them home and keep them and they're also
every participant is also given a kit to take home
with the tools and some beads so that they can
do it at home themselves, especially for people who are
a bit more housebound due to whatever they're going through.
It's a lovely hobby and it's creative, and being creative
(01:37):
is really part of being human. We really find that
it really helps people.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Pretty special Christmas person then.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
It oh it is too. Yeah. We always say to people,
if you don't wear a jewelry yourself, or you don't
think you'd want a soncatcher, I'm sure you know someone
who would, you can give it to them and it's homemade.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Does anyone make a dream catcher? Oh not yet. I
used to into those things as a kid.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
I had like three or four, must have eaten a
lot of cheese, you know how cheese gives you funky dreams.
So the night we're looking for teams of two to
eight fifteen dollars per person, there's going to be a
wonderful array of silent auctions and raffles, some really cool
local support.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Yes, some local businesses have been really generous in providing
prizes for our raffle and our silent auction. For example,
might have ten have donated a bucket off gardening supplies,
and we've got vouchers for haircuts and beauty treatments.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Three and a half year old Eliss, we're all into
that now. She had a first haircut earlier this week.
Now she's addicted. She should be at the sell on
every second week, like mama, imagine, now that's going to
cost me.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
What is lovely? Being pampered though, getting.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Your hair washed, get missed outed early.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
And there's even one that's come from OWL and the
crew at the Aviation Museum.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
Yes, yeah, they've wonderful donation of two vouchers for a
virtual reality experience of flying a plane. And it's a
thirty minute experience.

You will I can write some of you later. Yeah,
that's cool, I think.

So when you watch those videos on YouTube of pilots
having difficult landings, you really see that it's not as
easy as you think.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
I'll make it look as difficult as it possibly could be.
That's my specialty. So because night Wednesdady fifteenth of October
to run through the housekeeping here Armadillo's on Burnitt Streets
gets under way six pm. We shall be wrecked up
by nine, so that's all good on a school night.
