Shirin Khosraviani - Great Santa Hunt

The Great Santa Hunt returns to Ashburton Art Gallery and Museum TONIGHT from 5pm. Luke caught up with Manager/Curator Shirin Khosraviani to ask how it works.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
The Great Center Hunt returns with a twist to Ashburt
Night Gallery and Museum tonight monitoring. So this has become
somewhat of a local tradition. Remind us again, how's all
this work?

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Yeah? It has. Actually, it's it is the Great Santa Hunt.
We host every year, and this year we have extended
the centers. They've gone running around the district. So some
of them are hiding at the EA Network Center and
some of them are at tikitichuking out the library.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
They've broken out, no longer contained.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Yeah, they've jumped through some cases and out they went.
But the rest of them and the majority of them
are still at Rockoffia the Art Gallery and Museum. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Nice. So, so it launches tonight. How does this work?

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Yeah? Sure does so. The first night is extra special
because we essentially turn all the lights out at our
downstairs area and where the majority you have the centers
are Hunt hiding and so little kids somebody he can
come in with their torches and they can explore in
the dark looking for the more. It's quite fun. The

launch nights.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Yeah, yeah, so that's five pm till seven pm. Can
we talk about it at anytime in that window anytime yep.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
So all through those two hours you can arrive and
get your cards, the list of all the centers you
have to find, and there'll be lots of staff and
volunteers to help you through.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Are they're like goodies up for grabs.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
There are goodies. They're are spot prizes for the best dressed.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
So good carriage. You don't need to ask me twice.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Even I will have reindeer hat has so.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Yeah, all right, and then the hunt itself, so the
lights are out for the special occasion tonight, but then
it sort of continues right through the holidays.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
It sure does. So it launches tonight and we'll run
right until the thirty first of December. So you've got
all the kind of the peria to come in and
do the entire hunt and.
