He played rugby for Otago, North Harbour, the Blues, the Highlanders and the All Blacks, then he crossed codes to rugby league to play for the Warriors and Kiwis; after sport he was one of New Zealand’s top television stars for over a decade with Matthew Ridge, before fading into anonymity.
