Speaker 1 (00:01):
The Flavor Podcast Network, the Flavor Breakfast Podcast with Stace,
Azorah and Charlie.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
On today's podcast, we talk about the movies that brought
on the water works.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
And we remember the time when Don Manu was saying
yes and yes. Surah her moment to shine with the
bust of rhymes wrap Does she shine or does she stumble?
Speaker 3 (00:23):
You'll find out here on the podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Lord everybody, you're with Stace, Zrea and Charlie.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
That's so we've got the whole teen Yeah back again. Sorry, Sorry,
been around the world and I've been doing a few things.
She gonna if you look at this convergence of things
that is happening, there's a lot going on. Yesterday I
was in crash Itch for the second time in a
couple of days, and we're going to talk about security.
(00:49):
I don't know, let's invent something new to make it easier,
make it better.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Oh, because there was a bit of an issue, wasn't
there massive Yeah in Auckland to spend forty minutes in there,
and I really wanted to bring this up because Stace
and I've been quite fascinated with the facts that no
one had claimed the thirty million dollars from lotto. But
it's finally been No, it's finally been claimed, finally been claimed.
But they said oh yeah. After two weeks, I thought, oh,
(01:15):
maybe it could be me. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
I don't understand that level of patience or Chilbuddy took
the whole family down to Wellington's at the headquarters and
then rang his mom from there, said Mum, I've won lot.
I'm in the lotto building and she said how much?
He said, thirty million, Lucky day. I don't have a
hard tech right there. I know thirty million. You can
do a lot with that.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Yeah, well he wants to buy a motorbike, a boat,
ride on moa What is it with dudes? And ride
on MOA's or congratulations. Two weeks later, at least he
got it done, saw it, Saw It.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Been feeling quite inspired after watching Gladiator last night, not
for the plots, but mainly for the exdoors Pedro Pascal
and Paul Mescal. But you know, there's always there's always
a part of a movie that will make me cry.
I'm not a big cry on real crier in real life,
but I will cry in movies like.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
A little emotionally stunted in real life, you know. Yeah,
but movies help you get out your actual emotions. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
I saw this online and it's it's weird because my
partner given sister exact same thing to me when I
start crying during a movie. It's just a movie, And
I don't like that because you know, it's just a movie.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
But then the scene is move us are dying. Ah.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
But then the scena is my sister's keeper with the
sister you know, decides to stand up for herself and
for her sister, and they read out all the letters
because because she's passed.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Away, I have no right to that movie. Yeah, yeah,
because it's human experience, right, I know, see my and
this this is the saddest part.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
I haven't seen this movie since I was a young kid,
but it's et part where he goes home when the
specially comes out and I don't remember. I think there
were like flowers that were given to them and the
whole family came out. They hugged and the finger when
you always be here or something like that.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
That was the saddest part as a young kidd. So
it's not just a movie, it's a part of me.
It is real home. It's fun to you know, rewatch
them and see how they can still get you, Like
that scene in the Whale Rider when Pike is standing
up on stage and buying her face. I dare you
(03:36):
not to have emotions. I'll go one.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
I've got one in the Notebook. We're at the end,
she remembers who he is, and then they both pass
away together the same night. And then the next scene
is the birds slung over the water like they always
talked about.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
And I was like, bad lack.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
If you haven't seen it, She told.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
The bottom stuff like shaking it. Oh, I know, I'm
not going to know what.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
About bing bong?
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Oh yeah, bing bong. It's just mean to be a
kiss movie. But we want to know it's just a movie.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
And then the scenes dot or not well instead saying
that it's really got you over and over and over again.
Takes it through to eight to it's down below it
we changed it around. Now, slow it down when we
cry together. Sometimes, you know, movies really take it to
a place. They unlock a feeling in you that you
(04:35):
didn't know. It was left dormant for a while.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Yeah, and people have to say it's just a movie.
It's just a movie. But it touched your heart, broke
it and to put it back together again. And you're
crying in a movie theater. So what is the movie
scene that made you cry? Lots of texts on this Wow,
Fast and Furious people.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
We apologize on its too early for the spik Paul
Walker man.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
The horrible thing about it is the fact that Paul
Walker really did pass.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Away as he did.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
That's just heading people too hard and said the saying
it's just a movie scene. But Fast and Furious when
Paul Walker's brother is acting for him, that's our number
five fast five. He drives off of the last time.
And what makes us is when the song starts playing.
But then when it's super intense left this is another
one I know when they go their separate ways.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
Another one reads Pursuit of Happiness said it is a
good that is a good ending. Yeah, I mean, but
like you know, the whole movie part, especially when the
you know, father and sund are like slipping in the bathroom,
like in that public toilet.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Charlie Saint Cloud.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
The one was Zekie from when he loses his little
brother but he can still see him and he's going
to learn.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
To let go. Oh oh, my goodness. When John Coffee
died in Green Miles is another one. The Notebook, Cocoon
that's cooking at old school another one. Sees it's not
it's an ad, not a movie, but the ends a
post ad when the son and father lose contact and
the sun finally goes hung with a grandcad with no
contact after years. Wow, man so specific.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
Ginny said, when Ricky got killed by gang members and
boys to the Hood, Boys in the.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Home, Boys in the Hood, that's another good one.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Although you knew that was going to happen.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
You get no Recky.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
But it's like, oh, he's good at sport, of course
it's going to be it.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
You see this guy's it's not only movies. We crying.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
The other said, like movie, but it's like an animated movie.
Was Coco Coco Window.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
And then you want to watch it them mad It's like, oh, nothing,
nothing at all.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
When the grandmother starts singing back to because she starts
remembering that time when her dad you sing.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
So I mentioned about how the Notebook, the end scene
for the Notebook really got me, but somebody else is
texted and saying it was this scene for them during
the Notebook.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
My dearest Dowley last night.
Speaker 5 (07:00):
Because I know that it's over between us. I'm not
bitter anymore because I know that what we had was real,
and if in some distant place in the future we
see each other in our new lives, I'll smile at
you with joy and remember how we spend the summer
beneath the trees.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Oh, I can't. So that's a letter that he wrote
for Ali and she was reading it in her car.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
I still haven't seen notebook. So the point you what,
I still haven't seen it.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
I did, and I didn't.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
Really, you didn't find it, sad.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
I didn't concentrate.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
I don't know what I wrong with you, guys. Oh whoa, Hey,
I feel very strongly about this.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
It was one of those movies that I like, would
start crying and then I'll just start to come right,
and then I'll cry again.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
It's the same with My Sister's Keeper. Another one on
the text machines Selena. Yeah, and that's real as well.
That's horrible, but she really did die.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
So basically, the point of this is to stop saying
it's just a movie.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Okay, my partner didn't It's not just a movie.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
I'm a human here.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
Another one magic Mike when you put his clothes back on,
broke my heart up.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Dear you.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
You will probably see some people walking over the harbor
bridge because the hikoy finally makes it to Tamakimikoto hikoy.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
So this is a fewer in Auckland because the Heikoi
is heading to Parliament. So they started on the tenth
and they went from thed edding away you do it
and now went far a. You might have met them
there that occupy Fenua. So today they start on the
north shore of Auckland, the occupy Fenowa. They will also
or they or we actually will be going to Takapatapo.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Which is best in point Edward k.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
Also at Ihumatho, I looked at the rundown.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
I'm like, okay, we're believing in.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
The traffic here because it's pretty pretty quick, so downtime
half an hour to get to Ihumatho. So for details
you can check it out at toyt dot co dot
n Z. Also a chance if you support the Kopappa
but can't be there for various reasons, there's ways to
be part of it as well. So this is in
response to the Treaty Principal's Bill, which was introduced very
(09:06):
quickly yesterday, no last Thursday actually into Parliament. So that
is the coopapper. But actually I read a cool quote
from Awa who said, the last Hecoy built a political party,
this one can build a nation. I love that. That's
a beautiful way.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
I've been seeing some incredible people saying credible things online
as well. There was that there was a quote that
someone said about how let's just remember that because of
the Treaty of why Toney, that's the reason you've got
to call this place home.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Yeah. Yeah, Well, to tendity is for all of us.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
It's also for the Crown and it's how they have
a mandate to be here as well. So it is
actually about all of us ensuring that tynity Floyd to
de titity means for the for the Treaty, the might
DII vision to be a foundation strong and steadfast into
the future. And it's also going to be a beautiful
vibe going to bring good Enney. You fall across the bridge,
(10:01):
be careful and know that you're gonna have to be
a little patient patient.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
But it's actually for all of us, not just for.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
My love stays Azora and Charlie.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Man, I'm getting in my hit about this about what
the fugitive, No, not about the fugitive, about me rapping
for Buster Rhymes.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
I can't believe it.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
So yesterday Charlie noticed that I was attempting to wrap
this part of Bust Rhymes.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Rap.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
You know, when the song's playing really loud in your ears,
you think you can, You think you are doing it.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Yeah, you do think that you.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
Do when the music is playing in your headphones and
you're just like rapping with Buster.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
Sounds cool, but it's true. Everyone tried to do that verse.
It's one thing I remembered very clearly about you know,
high school and when the song came out in twenty eleven,
was everyone was want to learn Busters verse. I've been
looking at the lyrics and char you're the one that's
the challenge, right, Yeah, it sounds good, honestly, off sounds good.
(11:10):
Just get it a go.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
I want you to close your eyes and just imagine
that Buster is sitting here in the studio.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
I can't close my eyes because I'm gonna have to
read the lyrics. Open your eyes and imagine here. Just
just open your mother's girl.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
Yeah, channel the vibe. Just pretend you're not on.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
The radio again. But lovel you're in the shower. You're amazing. Okay,
am I gonna do this cold?
Speaker 6 (11:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Great, I've got a little instrumental. Okay, Donald stand up,
but okay, okay, okay, Hey, yeah, I don't.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Know me to come on.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
Okay, Hey, let's go.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Because feeling like I'm running, NFL like gonna wake it away.
We'll never stop because you know that I gonna every day. See,
they don't really want to put me.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Just know that you play it and I know I'm
me a little gagy.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
You ain't ever gonna stop me. Every time.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
I gonna say, it's so hard.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Idea trying to do the first times faster, No.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
It gets even faster. Somebody makes the mo I missed
my cue started again, started again, started again.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
I feel sweety.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
Yeah no, no, no, started again. Let's go because I
feel like I'm running and I feeling like ida get away,
get away and get away.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Better know that I don't and I won't ever stop
because you know I'm gonna win every day.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
No, see they don't really want to PLoP me. Just
know you would never PLoP me and I know it
can be a little kagy. You ain't ever gonna start every.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
Time I gonna say it, then I'm gonna go, and
then you're gonna get.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
It, and then they're gonna bloom, gonna send every little
thing that they be doing because it doesn't really meant it,
because I'm gonna go da da da dada. Then I'm
gonna mend it. Every little thing but the booming.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
I'm not.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
Like you on Earth puts into a red lurk because
I'm gonna da da da da dada. I'm gonna meder
everything about a boom but bing. Yeah, but it's those
lines that make the song, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
You don't be complaining about the lyrics when you're trying
to do that.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
I don't easy one breeze and you did pretty good, man.
I think that this time I was really nervous. Second time,
I think it got a bit better.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Yeah, I think it was achieved.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Yeah, well done? Did you did you hear us? Like? Yeah,
I have to. I'm cringing a little bit now. You're
getting me on the tis you done well? Is there?
Speaker 2 (13:31):
You? Oh?
Speaker 1 (13:32):
Man?
Speaker 4 (13:32):
I remember this one like it was yesterday I remember
watching this video like maybe a million times.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Who remembers this guy?
Speaker 3 (13:40):
Yes, yes, e y yes, yes, So what is that spell?
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Yes. We all went around saying yes, yes and it's
done money. So this time nine years ago this, but
it went viral wife Jeanet Mane who played there, yes,
prank on the husband. So I actually had the chance
to catch up with wife Jeannette.
Speaker 4 (14:11):
They're now reside in Gold Coast. I asked it did
life change after them like taking this video, you know,
because it went viral?
Speaker 7 (14:18):
And this is what she said, literally changed overnight, all
because of my husband's inability to spell and inability to
catch on to pranks. He's still getting asked for photos,
he's still getting asked for selfie's, he's still getting called
the ees guy, still wears his Hiver's vests everywhere he goes,
(14:39):
and he's still very much falling for my pranks.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Yes, so if you're sitting there going what yes, ies
eyes eyes yes. So he bring the E in front
of the year. He couldn't he couldn't get his head
around it.
Speaker 4 (14:55):
This is the funniest part, like for me, when he
catches on that Jeanette's pranking him.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
It's just you know, it's just magical. Kenny drops drops hurry, Okay,
I'll go up. Why yes, Yes, that's how you spell? Yes?
How do you spell? Yes? It was just sure man,
(15:21):
the most simplest words. We you know, we get confused
with it, with it.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
But he gets quite angry at first, but then you know,
he comes to he comes to the senses after.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
Realized he was.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Wrong. Yes, a weird one. No, no, just that he
has to come to this realization that it's not my
family being stupid. It's wait, it's me.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
I'm wrong.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
What quick? I see you? To the people that make
things weird? Yes, So I think everyone has a moment
or two in life where we say these things and go,
oh wow, I made it weird. Some people have a
particular talent for it. You have to say yeah, like
a daily talent.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
This poor woman on online on Tiki Taki, she shared
what happened when she was on a simple hike, a
simple walk.
Speaker 8 (16:13):
I just passed this group of people and there was
a guy with clearly his son, young son up on
his shoulders, and I had to make it weird and said,
I don't even know how this flew out of my mouth.
I said, can I get a ride that's not weird
at all?
Speaker 1 (16:30):
Like the visual? And he just said no, it's not fair,
it's not fear that the guy responded with no, like
you know that she didn't mean what you said. Well,
but what it could mean. I mean, that's pretty weird
if someone was to just say.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
That, like it is weird, but just laugh it off,
you know, just give them a sympathy laugh, like you
always have a choice.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
When you're in the receipt the end of the weird comment,
you just like give them some grace, give.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
Them some mart or heart and go.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
You're gonna you're gonna wake up with the middle of
the night and think why did I say that?
Speaker 3 (17:10):
So let's just like try to make it this weird.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
So if you do something weird today, you say something
that doesn't make any sense, lit'tle just.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
Move on past it, guys. It's the message for today.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
So Auckland Airport has had these massive delays because of concertgoers.
So both pil Jam and Coldplay have been in Auckland
this week and then a security scanner went out of
service and it caused massive what they call it absolute chaos.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
So if you know Auckland Airport.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
When I went in there the other day, I got
inside the security and that was where I started my weight,
so I couldn't actually, you know, usually go through, you
go around and around the lines, but no, it was
banked up back to the entrance. Yesterday it was outside
the entrance and so it said twenty minutes.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
It took me.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
I was in there for forty minutes and then feeling
like that guy going we need to get on our flight,
and I know other people look back, oh wait, you
should have come here, like, yeah, well forty minutes should
be enough for you to that's a lot of true security.
But you don't know this thing's happening.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
Oh well they were.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
Peljam concert goers. I don't yeah, no, we didn't know
what that was happening here. And now we've got cold place.
So all of those those are massive concerts, right, and
all of them were wearing the T shirts and they
love the concert, by the way.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
But that is just one little down abuzz. I'm just thinking.
But technology and all that it is.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
You know, you've got these great big machines and then
you have just one person who has to look at
every single bag like maybe you could have two people,
I would just start going cross side. I always look
at them when I go through the security.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Another thing, I will say, no offence to Aukland domestic
security chicken.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
But what's up with the setup, like it's not very
well set up.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
No, in my opinion, the line is I mean, the
placement is stupid to being right by the food court,
because then you just create issues of people just trying to,
you know, get some car.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Yeah that's true, that's my thought. But everyone was being
nice to the stuff, which is good. But I mean,
I don't know, just just a system. How about way
its good? Blip blip, you know, and two people could
be watching at the same time, you know, not just
the guy the guy who stands there. We could go
an extra person to look at the bags and go yeap,
move it on through.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
And I always choose the wrong line as well.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
There's always one line that goes faster if you don't
join the line, I mean, because that's always the slowest line. Okay, No, nice,
nice stays Azora and Charlie. Now it's time to play
a very part of the day.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
Are you smarter than an nce A or ayer because
you know they are sitting exams at the moment everyone
in ncee A. So we thought we'd say good luck
and we'll also give one single question.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
Yeah, let's give it a crack.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
I go, and by the way, good luck to everyone
sitting liver A one science Newer and talk a low
lible two chemistry, geography and level three drama in biology.
And there's a couple of scholarship ones in the geography
and art history.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
Beautiful this morning.
Speaker 9 (20:07):
We have fire shine more dinner, fire Anna, more dinner, somebody, Okay,
this one is question is chemistry related.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
We're looking at the periodic table?
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Yeah, okay, so what is.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
The chemical name for what?
Speaker 1 (20:25):
B R?
Speaker 3 (20:29):
The chemical name for b are the.
Speaker 8 (20:32):
Ah it is on the right side of the periodic.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
It doesn't mean any what lifts to right people? No,
people who know they know because they've they've got some
like this is something that's been in their brain.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
Have you used it a lot?
Speaker 1 (20:51):
So this is me sitting in the in the hall.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
I've I've wrote some drink telling you Charlie is such
a tea. He googled the answer yesterday, thankfully, accord him.
And now he's asking for mine.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Isn't that.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
I can't even see that.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Is it iron?
Speaker 5 (21:13):
No?
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Because that's if e closer?
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Is it?
Speaker 9 (21:18):
Charlie has got an empty piece of paper?
Speaker 6 (21:19):
What is it?
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Just think at one word with d n if I
didn't finish by.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
Okay, their silence is just nothing. Bro bromance bro mean
should remember.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
Didn't a no?
Speaker 4 (21:45):
You know, I was one of those kids when they
came to their christian I was. I was drawing late
cartoon characters.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
The universal that was me.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
Good to know what is though? That's a great question.
I don't know why, Anna, you're.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
The worst teacher ever. This is why we don't know anything.
I would do anything to get up next to you.
Poor miscal Man, the man that you are. He is
the main dude in a Gladiator. But as far as
you're concerned, there's a few actors in this new Gladiator
movie Gladiated too.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Yeah, tell Washington, don't you dear?
Speaker 2 (22:32):
It was a really really good movie. I got to
see it last night. I mean the hype it's worth.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
It has taken everything from me, but I will have
my vengeom oh, god, real has taken everything from me.
There was poor miscal right there, but that's not who
you went for, was it? Yeah, I thought we were
(22:58):
talking about Pedro Pascal. Are Pedro Pascal. He's also really hot.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
I mean you I went in there for Paul miss Gal,
but I stayed for Pedro Pescal.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Ah. See, so you don't actually know, like do you
not really remember the first Gladiator movie? Like I do.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
I know Russell Crowe is in it, and I can
see the images on my mind, you know, when he's
running down that dirt road his family.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
And so Russell's not in it, no more, no no
no no, no, no no no, because on a year
two thousand, well he dies in Gladiator.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
Yeah, even so we can't we can't bring Russell. It
doesn't come up from the dead. Thankfully, it's not one
of those movies where it's like so far fetched, you're like.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
What's going on?
Speaker 2 (23:40):
But it was done incredibly well and everyone that was
look you know acting in the in the movie. I
mean it was top tier. I'd say, you know, the
Gladiator one won some awards. I'd say this one will
win some awards.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
But you don't care because you were just there for
the eye candy in Roman Outfit, Pa Messcal. I mean,
he won my heart. It doesn't matter about the awards,
a few wines or not. I don't know what it is.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
If you've seen a show called Normal People, you will
know the reason for it. There's just something about Paul
Mesco is such a good actor. You're just you're part
of it with him, you know, And.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Yes, yeah, yes, and among other things, yeah so and
some memes that you may love, some gifts you may love.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
So if you're looking for a movie to go and
watch with your partner, trust me, ladies and men and
everyone in between. Something in there for everyone that's true,
isn't Yeah, because I know that's an easy sell to
my husband.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
He's like Gladiator boom boom, Yes, action fighting.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
Yes, do you think that Scotty will There'll be suspicions
raised if you go, oh you know how Doey, we
should go watch Gladiator. I've already done. I didnayche around you.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
I love how you describe it. Boom boom, smash boom,
go back to being.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
A yes man.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
The latest celebrity goths from around the world waive for breakfast.
Oh m gone. So you just mentioned Gladiated too, and
Washington is in it and he's come up to seventeen.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Just wants you to know he's not planning to stop.
Speaker 10 (25:20):
I want to do things I haven't done. I played
Othello at twenty two. I'm about to play a Fellow
at seventy. After that, I'm playing Hannibal. After that, I've
been talking with Steve McQueen about a film. After that,
Ryan Coogle is writing a part for me in the
next Black Panther. After that, I'm going to do the
film Othello. After that, I'm going to do King Leader.
(25:40):
After that, I'm going to retire.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
I got Stop okay in Washington and Black Panther Okay,
that's pretty year pick. And after that I want to
be on Shortland Street.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
Come on, I ain't big.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
We've Bill got Range and and other news, Machine Gun
Color and Megan Fox expecting their first child together. This
is I don't know how the internet has decided this
was a pregnancy announcement. But the thing is with Megan
Fox and Machine and Color, they always do things differently.
She wrote, nothing has ever really lost welcome back. And
(26:15):
the reason she wrote that is because they've actually had
miscarriages together, so they have been trying. So people have said, yep,
this is this is their time. Now they're finally going
to be having a baby to congratulations to the two
of them. Yeah, so Sace, just quick challenge update, even
though you didn't ask Charlie myself at Anna, we're on
(26:37):
a eight week challenge. My challenge is starting to get
quite challenging. I actually throw up in class yesterday.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
Is that what you're supposed to do? Was that the
challenge to throw up in class?
Speaker 2 (26:47):
No?
Speaker 1 (26:47):
I also had a quarter pounder burger.
Speaker 3 (26:49):
Okay, so those two coming into related.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
Maybe actually I didn't think about that.
Speaker 4 (26:55):
Maybe it was a cardio class yesterday, and I think
it was progression before.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
I think it was three or four. No one knows
what that means, harder and harder. Yeah, so you don't
say things that make sense to other people. I met
someone on the plane. You say she said something that
made to me, made sense to meet. She has been
going to the gym for an hour every day to
get ready, to be able to stand and be able
to enjoy cold play.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
See I like that.
Speaker 4 (27:21):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Different goals.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
Yes, that is a very meaningful goal, I thought.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
And I have your nosdays. The challenges suddenly get challenging
for me. I've we've Charlie and I we've almost had
a few arguments about it because if I hear the
word macro one more time, he is doing my head
in macro nutrient my beans and egg whites in the mornings.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
And I'm not kidding.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
Yesterday he decided, Oh, you know what, I'm going to
make this even worse for us, or not only stinks,
but I'm going to eat it with my hands and
literally suck it in my mouth.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
With the egg white. And I was like, I'm sick
of it. I'm sick of it. I can't wait for
the challenge to be over myself. And then he too,
I mean goes, Oh.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Don't worry, bro, when this is over, we'll go have breakfasts.
I'm like, you do realize I'm still doing that, like
being a normal person.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
Really normal, completely normal, just saying so normal.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
Yesterday, Charlie and myself, we were really lucky to have
caught up with parat Olympian Peter Colwyn, who picked up
a bronze medal in the twenty twenty four Paris Olympics
just this year for para canoe.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
Yes, so, when he was fifteen, he was hit by
a car while training for the Iron Marti triathlon and
so he lost one of his legs. He is going
to be standing at M nine as one of the
inspirational speakers because he has an amazing story.
Speaker 4 (28:37):
The man cut cureda It's been a long time, you know.
I think was it last year we seen each other?
Would have been there a couple of years ago, last year,
last year started last year. I think it's so good
to see you again, man, and especially seeing you like
seeing you doing really well in your field.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
Bro bronze medal. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (28:54):
Bro, we talked at the Olympic medal. By the way,
how does that feel in the middle of self? Feel surreal?
To be honest, it wasn't like an expected outcome. We
saw potential in Taming One, but it's getting it as
a bonus.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
Well, that middle is the reason that you've become a
part of altered or history. We're so proud of you
and even more proud that you're going to get on
stage and share your story on becoming a para Olympian
on the stage of M nine. How did you feel
when you were approached to, you know, be a part
of such an incredible co Pappa the last one of
(29:30):
the year two.
Speaker 6 (29:31):
Gets definitely a bit privileged to be sharing the stage
with eight other you know, profoile athletes in the country.
Will attempt to name something, but you've gotta likes to
Genamine Clarks and Yeast and tow there and Nico.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
That's a pretty mean lineup. Man, you're pretty weir like Eves.
The people like, oh, then it's oh sucks. This is
honestly Peter you are.
Speaker 4 (29:53):
But why do you think it's important to have like
unique multi voices in the forefront of conversations and today Broll,
why do you think it's unique have that?
Speaker 6 (30:00):
Yeah, I guess we'll navigating through interesting times. You know
in the oldt ol door and no. Growing up, I
always had a sense of you know, long in this
country and you know, just being connected to our people,
our co pupper. Yeah, in this space specifically, it's good
vessel to reach out to our people, inspire them to
chase their goals whatever field it maybe, and that's one
happens to be in sports. So I guess people can
(30:22):
take away some nuggets from you know, all these other speakers.
I'm inspired by them every day, Like there's some people
I would look up to. Then, yeah, we're just you know, hopeful,
be able to push the message out there to be yourself,
be maldy, be proud of who you are. Navigate yes man, Yeah,
we can never get through this world more small country,
but we can do big things out on the world stage.
So I guess reflect on our own journeys in bringing
(30:42):
that back to our communities is something big.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (30:44):
I didn't really notice what we had done and achieved.
Their own Paris was special to us till we come
home and see it our community they threw on a
big parade for us, and yeah, it was just like, Oh.
One of my aunties texts to me. They're like, oh,
I'm gonna put a parade on for you tonight. How
do you feel about that? We'll just go and call
it a You know, I love this.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
You should. You should mention this to you nine talkers
because we were talking about how man the key we
we need to we need to do more parading because
I mean, the Tongans have been losing their mind over
the rugby league, right and I'm.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
Like, why aren't we doing the same thing.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
So it's a beautiful thing to hear that you had
a parade, and I think we need more of that.
But to be to make it even more special, is
your auntie that's organizing. Its even legal? Can we have
it on the main here so it's legal? Hey, look,
all the best for your you know the talk that
you're going to do it in nine. It's so special.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
That is it from us.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
If you missed anything, you can check out our podcast
on our radio and so for free get searching Flavor
breakfast and then get listening.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
Yes, so today the herecoy is reaching Tamaki, Makoto Auckland.
So just coming over the Harbor bridge. We were talking
about the last time the seven what was that two
thousand and fourteen?
Speaker 2 (32:03):
What was it?
Speaker 5 (32:04):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (32:05):
I think so or two thousand and four, two thousand
and four actually, and Scotty was talking about myhusband was
talking about coming across the bridge and on the clip
on it's actually a little bit swingy. It's an unusual
feeling scary.
Speaker 4 (32:17):
Don't you think you don't feel it when you're in
a car, but I guess when you're you're running or
you're walking on the hubur bridge.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Yeah, there's still people there, but you know, so the
hikui will go from there to Takabatafa, which is best
in Point and then over to Ihumato and then they're
coming to Hamilton on their way to Parliament to exercise
their right, our right to protest the Treaty Principal's Bill.
So if people go, what is it for, that's what
it's about, because the Treating Principal's Bill, there's some issues there. Yeah,
