Speaker 2 (00:07):
On today's podcast, we teach Charlie what very demure, very mindful,
very cute means, and we talk about the best guitar
sing along song.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
So good, and also our first sign up to help
us for our Daffodil Day run William Wade.
Speaker 4 (00:22):
It's all on the podcast.
Speaker 5 (00:25):
Everybody, you're Stacy, Sara and Charlie.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Good morning, Good morning, and Charlie. I heard over the
weekend one of my friends said, oh, my daughter was.
She came home super excited because Charlie was at this
school today for Tonguan Language Week and she got very
star stracked.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
What school were you at?
Speaker 6 (00:44):
I was at a Holy Cross Catholic school in Papa Awesome.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
You know the kids, This is what I love about
the kids.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
We need.
Speaker 6 (00:51):
As soon as I've parked up, they were like, excuse me, sir,
have a dollar. They're just ruthless. And then I passed
because I said, sorry, guys, I don't have any money.
And one other kid goes, excuse me so I can
get my ball from the gutter, Like, are you guys?
Speaker 4 (01:10):
Sweet am? I on the payroll here goodness.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
And so you went and you did accord it or
about tongue and language week.
Speaker 6 (01:17):
Yeah, it's similar to I think this helped me prepare
for this speech because either, to be honest, I was
there to just present in a wall, shake hands and
all this whole care then only to find out my
cousin was like one of the senior teachers, Hey, speech,
can you just do a speech because a lady that
was me to come, she's not coming to the mind.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
I was like, oh jeez, I'm a tongue and language expert.
Speaker 6 (01:41):
Now, no man, So thank goodness for these proverbs.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Oh this is the thing too, now that you're working
on radio, Charlie, like people expect us from you. We
can just start a minute.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Oh and another thing that they expect from you. I
heard that they were all asking with General Fireway.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
I'm gonna want to say that, but whe's General fire bro.
He's in my pocket, Charlie.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
I'm just going to say, I know you like reggae.
Anytime you can choose a song on flavorites usually reggae,
that's fair enough, right, yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Yeah, And he's like, what's your point?
Speaker 4 (02:12):
So he houses down.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
You do reggae, we get it, but I'm just thinking
there's another genre that you could explore, like guitar Patty favorites. Ah,
but random right, yeah, you know, like like this song
like from Rod Stewart.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yeah, talk about.
Speaker 6 (02:36):
You're in the garage, guitars out, no DJ, everybody's singing
along to the song.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Here's your cousin who you don't think will know the
words to Rod Stewart, who knows the.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Words for Stuart version? Bro, is there a tongue version
of the song? I wouldn't be surprising.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
As then you're on board with this. Is that song
too old for you?
Speaker 2 (02:58):
It's too old for me? No?
Speaker 4 (02:59):
Well, I'm just sorry that I brought up right that
you don't know that.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
My nan used to listen to music like that.
Speaker 5 (03:04):
Just when I tell you, if it was a Saturday
or Sunday, you would wake up to the sweet sound
stuff and then she's like singing along with it, but
really off, You're.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
Like that.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Would make though that would be one and and then
sometimes they are, you know, just really clasic times that Yeah,
we heard our parents or grandparents sing like Saturday night
the movies goes off and.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Wait, so people would play that on the guitar and
the garage. Oh yeah, their own version of it. To
be honest, yeah, because to me, I don't really hear
the guitar.
Speaker 5 (03:45):
Well, we do really need to change Charlie's direction.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
We still want you to do rego.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
Don't get me wrong, but every single week for Friday
feels he always selects a reggae song.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
And it's starting to.
Speaker 5 (03:57):
Do my head in because he wins Friday Fields sometimes.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
But I truly it's believed because people like to listen
to reggae Friday.
Speaker 5 (04:04):
You never not, you know, straight off of your path,
and we respect that. But we're just saying we think
you do have range. You're pigeon holding yourself steah.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
And there's other songs like what are the you know,
great guitar party songs?
Speaker 2 (04:19):
I want to hear what they are?
Speaker 6 (04:20):
Man, So if you guys have any any guitar party
songs that you guys feel that I need to explore
text us party songs to a two doubles?
Speaker 4 (04:30):
Yeah, what are they?
Speaker 2 (04:32):
What are they? MANE? Let us know.
Speaker 5 (04:34):
You know, we're thinking, Charlie, you do have range. You're
not just a reggae dude. You can move into this
very New Zealand specific genre.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Yes, the guitar party classics.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
We're thinking, Yeah, bit of Rod Stewart, you'll.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Take it a night, it would be awesome.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Broke maha, Nay.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
So we've got some other suggestions. Okay, what are the
you know, some of your guitar party classics here on
the text, the old classic ting guitars.
Speaker 7 (05:07):
Dance Dance, Dance to guitar, Yes by Charlie.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
And then a new classic I'd say this one from
Stephen Mordiner Tennessee Whiskey.
Speaker 6 (05:24):
Yes, that's another one made good.
Speaker 5 (05:29):
I really like this song, but I don't think it's
like the perfect one for you. Like I really liked
you when you were singing the ting guitars. I think
that's more. I can hear you doing that, but maybe
it's because i've heard stand Walker do Tennessee whisky. I can't.
We can't make someone else from New Zealand cover it
the way he did. Yeah, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
And and the thing about guitar party songs is like
they're sort of unexpected, like you know, you say, Rod
Stewart's Oh that's random and Englebert humperd Why do we
love this another one Grigory Abbott, Shake you down.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
And people honestly love loving honestly. We'll play the guitar
and sing to them.
Speaker 6 (06:11):
Oh yeah, you gotta remember you know that the I
think I call it the Maldi strum.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
That's drump. You can strum and sing any song. Well,
there's another ticks A to double O for Baby Blue.
It's so random.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
You don't know what songs you know what you've been to.
Speaker 6 (06:34):
Yeah, they're talking about the other baby.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
I know this song.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
On my houp.
Speaker 5 (06:44):
See, all of these songs are sitting in the back
of my mind.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Dormous the way I describe it.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
I love this one here on the Tics hockey my Ma,
it's a classic like once We're Warriors, Gay Myda, Mama,
King heard better to Nay. There's the way someone's singing
that on you know, the party bus as well. And
actually actually Tim wad to Morrison and Once Warriors. I
(07:09):
mean that's why Jake the Mass as horrible as he was,
you could sort of see why Beth still loved him,
do you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (07:15):
Like when he started singing.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
In the car and all that kind of stuff, and
Tim singing like he does a beautiful version of slipping Away.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Yeah, he's slipping away from me.
Speaker 8 (07:28):
This is the song.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
He super away from me, and it's.
Speaker 6 (07:36):
Bringing into I love that song what in you super Away?
Speaker 2 (07:43):
So that's Tim's singing this song. But you know the original,
the slipping.
Speaker 4 (07:48):
Away from Me such a good song, man, I love
it a crack.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Now let us listen to the original.
Speaker 5 (07:57):
I'm starting to see what you guys mean about some
of these songs being sung on a guitar and in
the garage, because when I hear Tim's doing that song, I'm.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Like, ah see, now I can see it. You know
what I mean.
Speaker 6 (08:12):
Feel you're just you're in the garage or wherever you are, Okay,
family barbecue, guitars out, bro, this is it?
Speaker 2 (08:21):
So could you do it? Charlie?
Speaker 5 (08:23):
Like, do you honestly think that you could do a
venture off and go into the guitar genre? Can I
get a lot of tiss you know, the song receiving
the most Wizen facts slipping Away.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
I know the song is taken off away from me.
Speaker 5 (08:44):
If Tams could do it, you could do what I'd
say from.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
Me and.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
Nice, We've got to project.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Here, Charlie.
Speaker 5 (08:58):
We are your managers. Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul Okay,
you winning favor brief for Scott a lot of contestants,
you're the only one, but you are going.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
To We're gonna have to get you to sing a
guitar play, so okay.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
Look, you know we're all about learning and growing, aren't we.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
You know, it's one of our one of the best
things if as a human, to just keep you know,
expanding our minds.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
And I've noticed, Charlie, you don't really understand this trend
at the moment.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
Stacey and I and producer, and we keep saying, you know.
Speaker 5 (09:36):
Very demure, very mindful, very cutesy. I've noticed, you know,
you've just sort of sat there or sometimes you're like
the sympathy like joining and laugh you know what, and
you laughing and pretending to get it. Charlie is very demure.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
It's very mindful, Are we right, Charlie? Do you have
no idea what we're going on about? We going very demure.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
I hear.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
I listened to you guys talking. I'm just like, what
are they talking about?
Speaker 6 (10:01):
And sometimes you know, it's pretty funny. I'll just laugh
at it sometimes and I'm just like I don't get it,
but yeah, it's just funny.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
So you've got the biggest Internet following out of all
of us, so you need to know this because this
is big.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Yeah it is okay.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
So it actually all started with this TikTok content creator.
I called Jules Lebron and she put it on her
TikTok sounded like this.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
See how I come to work very demure.
Speaker 8 (10:27):
I do my makeup, I lay my wig, I do
a little breid, I flatter in my hair, I do
chea cheeth out, I do viral vanilla, very demure, very
mindfuls not forget to be demure divas demir demir.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
So she started that, so you know, demir is really
a word.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
It basically means like you're modest, but's of an affected
kind of way, reserved or serious, you know, like especially
as a woman in a very demure, very mindful, but
it's actually gone into politics like they even make, you know,
use this kind of audio talking about Kamala Harris.
Speaker 9 (11:04):
See how I don't try to control other people's bodies.
Very demure, very mindful, very considerate. I allow people to
make decisions for themselves. I know their choices between them
and their doctor, very respectful, very sweet.
Speaker 8 (11:17):
Sea.
Speaker 9 (11:18):
I'm not like you other girls. I don't brag about
overturning Rob Wade. They're not very considerate, not cutesy, not demure.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
Joel from Jules Lebron And she's saying she was taking
the mickey out of herself, by the way, because she's
like she literally went to work looking not very demure
with increase makeup, and so she's like make you know,
being ironic.
Speaker 6 (11:40):
So what are people doing these days, bro, They're just
sitting there making up words.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
In Charlie, this is the thing.
Speaker 5 (11:47):
We're trying to get you to just understand it without
us understanding, without without us.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Really truly explaining it.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
So it's like, say, if I move my trolley to
the side when I'm going to get something off the
shelf at the supermarket, rather than leaving it in the
middle of the aisle.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
That's very very mindful, very cute.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
See like putting onant at the gym.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
Very very hiful, very cute.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
See.
Speaker 5 (12:10):
So, and you can just go very respector very but
you've got to always say demure and it is it's
very satire.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
Okay, same with if you let someone in more merging
what are you very mindful?
Speaker 1 (12:23):
Stays Azora and Charlie.
Speaker 6 (12:33):
Oh oh yeah, do you remember the time? This is
a new game that we're going to play every day. Okay,
so we are trying to remember all the iconic moments
that happen, right this is pre internet or during the
internet time when things went viral, but we don't really
remember them no more, I.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
Know, just just things that happen, you know, like you
remember the time. Sometimes you just go, like, remember the
time how beIN Lummas was on?
Speaker 4 (12:57):
That's right, just something you go, do you remember that time?
Speaker 3 (13:01):
So we'll do it every single day. Remember the time?
Remind you of a random time if you have one,
you could text it through to a two doublelow. But
today is there a you feel passionately about this year?
Speaker 5 (13:11):
So look this lives rent free in my head a
minimum once a week.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Do you remember the.
Speaker 5 (13:18):
Time that there were two little Scottish girls singing well
about to sing a cover of Sheer Lloyd when their
mum comes bursting through the door.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
The toilet after the other shot for me, well, one of.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
Yes, the same.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
I quote that all the time. I'm like one of us.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
When do you quote that?
Speaker 2 (13:45):
You remember that all the time.
Speaker 5 (13:48):
I don't know even if I'm going to say, I
don't know, change the bim, I go disgusting the fourth
of yours. It's nothing even there, no one's around, but
it has to happen. And famously this video w's so
viral in two thousand and nine. It wasn't until six
years later the question that everyone on the internet wanted
(14:10):
to know was, well, which.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
One of you us was I didn't flush? Discuss that
it was?
Speaker 5 (14:15):
It turns out the younger sister, she admitted that it
was actually her.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Did it flush the toilet?
Speaker 5 (14:21):
When you talk as shot.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
How to flash the toilet?
Speaker 4 (14:24):
After they've had a shirt for me? So sad moum
come down, darlt it.
Speaker 6 (14:34):
Back mom trying to sing? Somebody else?
Speaker 5 (14:38):
Does anyone else say that, like quote any of the clip?
Speaker 2 (14:42):
Is it just me?
Speaker 4 (14:43):
I don't know, but you definitely remember the time.
Speaker 5 (14:46):
We are embarking on a pretty huge challenge, but for
an incredible, incredible thing. It is deafit all day on
the thirtieth of August, which is just around the corner
this Friday, and we are we I want to raise
a little extra money and do something more than just donating.
At two four four two. We're actually going to put
(15:07):
our money with our feeder and we will be running
a meter for every dollar raised. So far we're at
twenty five thousand dollars, so we're at twenty five kilometers.
So yeah, it's gonna be a big It's gonna be
a big day. On the Thursday before deafital Day, try
to do that last push for donations.
Speaker 3 (15:25):
So how we're doing it is have a couple of
treadmills in the studio and get those k's out. But
then we're trying to talk at the same time. We
really need a we sort of need a relay situation.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
We need a hand that's for sure. Okay, so ladies,
you guys need the help. I need to help you.
Running is not my thing.
Speaker 6 (15:42):
So I decided to call in some heavy hooders and
on the line we.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Have William Wadoor, the man who's been running every day
for the last four years.
Speaker 4 (15:54):
William, so that is that true? You run every day?
Speaker 10 (15:58):
Yeah, I've been running every day for pretty much since
COVID because we had a lot of time on our
hands back then. So yeah, well we had heats of time.
So I started took up running. Could only run a
few k's but sort of built it up over time
and now I can't go without it.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Yeah, that's amazing because you were on the AM shows,
you did big days. When would you run on those days?
Speaker 10 (16:19):
A certainly wasn't. Why we're running at three am?
Speaker 8 (16:21):
Yeah, around three am, so it would always.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Be after after the show, So that's impact.
Speaker 10 (16:27):
Yeah, You've got to travel around the country, so I
got to see Jiman and abroad as well. So but
I did enjoy running and some more and they the
dogs chase me over there more and than the dogs
chased me and the locals were laughing, so that was.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
Yeah, the way do I lift your body at that
particular point. So that's great because you can you can
actually run. And so is it kind of like an
addiction for you by the sounds of it now?
Speaker 10 (16:56):
Yeah, Well it's just part of the part of the
routine now. But it all it starts, you know, if
everyone starts somewhere, and I was terrible when I began,
but now it's sort of, yeah, I really love it now,
it's just every day. I don't use headphones either, so
I just try.
Speaker 5 (17:10):
To ask that's how you know, No, No, that's how
you know when someone's like fit foot, you're not wearing headphones,
You're just literally jogging along and I put money on it.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
You're just thinking, oh, what am I going to have
for dinner later?
Speaker 5 (17:20):
Whereas for me, when I run the first klumbler, I'm like,
I just couldn't make.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
It to the power pole and then I can stop
it have a breakdown, whereas you're just like dumbdy dum
dumbdy dums.
Speaker 6 (17:30):
See I'm a different type runner, Bro, I run on
the mean road. You just don't na so people could
see me, and I don't know when I'm like running
on the back streets in there, Bro, one hundred percent,
I'm walking pole run, you know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (17:43):
So it's just so William, if you have ran every
day for the last four years, how many days consecutively
has that been?
Speaker 10 (17:53):
Sixteen hundred and sixteen? Woww yesterday? Sixteen year thousands, six
sixteen one hundred and sixteen?
Speaker 5 (18:02):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (18:03):
I hope that you just knew that you didn't just
do the message to be here?
Speaker 10 (18:07):
Who's counting?
Speaker 4 (18:08):
Who's counting that? I guess.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
The other thing is because we're doing this for Daffodil
Day and for the Cancer Society, We really appreciate your
support because you know, cancer impacts one and three Kiwi
and out there or unfortunately and a lot of us
have been there and this is a copa but your
happy to support as well.
Speaker 10 (18:23):
William one hundred percent. I've had I know and just
recently my name's just had a year anniversary. So yeah,
it's just I think everybody's had somebody they know know
of said cancers. So massive messive driver for me to
can't help out. And my dad's actually showing with a
bit of that at the minute. So yeah, just trying
(18:45):
to trying to help out. I'll put my hand up
to get in there and twitter a bit of perspiration
out or for the.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Cause, Tuer and we'll be sending our kaha to your
dad as well.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
So thank you so much for supporting us. We really
need it.
Speaker 10 (19:00):
Yeah, I'll run a couple of times for you.
Speaker 5 (19:05):
Can say you've actually ran inside a studio on a treadmill.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
It's going to be hot.
Speaker 10 (19:11):
First first, but I always find a treadmill system boring.
It's cheating. No, it's cheating for it, it's not or
anywhere I feel my Come on, man, you're going to
do the hard.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Yard Yeah, you're right, bro.
Speaker 10 (19:23):
You can't have that thing spinning underneath you doing the work.
But I'd love to do it because it goes a
bit of a break.
Speaker 5 (19:32):
Definital day thirtieth of August, a big shout out to
a z who we are working alongside with, especially for
our run on for getting donations two full four two.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
Big shout out in sid it's hot for.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Less.
Speaker 5 (19:53):
It's a friendly little game that we like to play.
We're basically it's so simple. Charlie in Stace will try
and guess the number of something correctly, and there's always
a theme for the day. Today's theme is all about
flying about Jetstar. You know, we're doing a mystery trip
(20:14):
we're doing see you later this Friday or thanks to them.
So your questions will be plane slash Jetstar related.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
Okay, so air Flavor now boarding edition.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Right.
Speaker 5 (20:25):
So I will ask a question and then you will
both write your answers down on a piece of paper
that locks them in. You will show me and present
your answers before I tell you the correct one, and
therefore who's closest.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
This is basically the anti cheating clause for Charlie.
Speaker 5 (20:43):
Pretty much we've had to change the game flavor funo,
because yeah, he would just go what Stace would say.
He go off of what Stace would say. It's stout
changing his answer. He was looking at my homework.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Calm, calm down, children.
Speaker 5 (20:55):
Okay, how long is a direct flight on stuff from
Auckland to Hawaii? Oh?
Speaker 2 (21:04):
Please write down your answers?
Speaker 4 (21:06):
I already have and now I'm showing you.
Speaker 5 (21:09):
Okay, Stace is locking and hers Charlie.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
I'd like to see yours.
Speaker 5 (21:13):
So Stace has said ten hours, and Charlie has said
eight and a half hours. Correct, Llie, your correct more
or less? It is exactly eight and a half hour.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
Why me to the moon?
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (21:31):
Hawaii?
Speaker 5 (21:33):
All right? Your next question is how many destinations does
jit Star.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
Fly to out of New Zealand?
Speaker 5 (21:43):
Just how many destinations does Jster fly to? That's the
question doesn't matter, I feel.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
Please put down your answers.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
Okay, okay, stay.
Speaker 5 (21:56):
Two and Charlie has put seventeen. And the close person.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Is your correct? More or less? You were closest to it.
Speaker 5 (22:08):
It was eighty five destinations fifty twound the world.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
You just seventeen. A nice try, brother, nice tray.
Speaker 5 (22:16):
I would like to know now how many seats are
on the Boeing seven eight seven eights, which, by the way,
is you know, the international long haul plane.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
This is your final question.
Speaker 5 (22:31):
We're both sitting in a tie. Your timer starts now.
Stace has presented hers, Colt, you have both presented yours
in time. Stace has gone with three hundred and fifty seats. Charlie,
what's yours? Two hundred seats winning more or less this morning?
Is your correct?
Speaker 2 (22:54):
More or less? So the Boeing seven eighty seven eighths
has a total of three hundred and thirty five. I've
seen the plane a lot of seats.
Speaker 5 (23:04):
Yeah, so three hundred and fourteen is economy and the
race being business totally at three hundred and thirty five,
so that is more.
Speaker 4 (23:13):
Or less business. I don't know her, never seen her,
never been up there.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Stays as Zara and Charlie.
Speaker 6 (23:22):
So, guys, your siblings, you know, have they ever been
good to a point where it's impacted you, like, just
in anything in general. When I was growing up, okay,
my brother Rob was like he was the man like
playing rugby league and I was always People will always
make comments like, bro, if you're going to play league
and you're just as good as your brother. Brother, you
(23:44):
can go far as well, you know. And I was like,
I just want to do my own things.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
Yeah, you know, but they're prejudging you and your brother.
So he was really good.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
It was really good.
Speaker 4 (23:53):
And how did that impact you?
Speaker 6 (23:55):
So I reckon I was able to make teams because
my brother, yeah, yeah, or get a look at anywhere
from selectors because my brother was already in the system
or coaches already.
Speaker 4 (24:07):
Knew who he was, so I knew the surname too.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
I knew the surname.
Speaker 6 (24:10):
So they're like, Okay, we'll give this go and let's
see if he's like his older brother. And I didn't
live up to the hype, to be honest, But then
it was always sad. Every time we'll go home, my
dad would be like, yeah, you know, you're your brother made.
I was hoping you're gonna like, no, it wasn't. The
conversation was like that. It wasn't like that, but it
(24:31):
was like celeminal. I knew where it was going. So
it was always hard living in their shadow, but it
impacted me in a way where I was able to
get to places because who my brother was.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
Yeah. See That's the thing with siblings.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
It's not always the youngest getting impacted by, you know,
the older ones.
Speaker 5 (24:50):
I mean I was literally impacted by my brother being
really good at math. So he was really good at
math always was never even really tried me. I was,
this is terrible at math, but because there was someone
in the house that was good at it, I just
I just gave up trying, like I don't even need it.
I even needed it because my brother was always there,
like would be at the shops and it's like me
(25:10):
trying to do the meth on the two dollar bag.
He's worked it out. So I've never really like turned
that part of my brain on because I've always been
surrounded by someone that's.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
Good at it.
Speaker 5 (25:20):
And now these days, I literally I can't even do
like nineteen plus eight.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
I'd have to stop and think about it. It would take
me a lot longer. Thank goodness for the calculator on
the phone.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Then.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
Yeah, And I guess if I look at, say, my
sibling's been good at something and it impacts me, I
know that my brother will say it the other way around,
and but he's not talking. I am, and so him
like anything he was good at like go kart racing.
My dad would totally get on board with and he'd
do that and would go and watch him do that,
and I'm like.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
Wow, you literally did not do that for us.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
Child.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
He comes along the second marriage footing years later, I
just go, oh, Okay.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
I see how it is. He's a boy, and so his.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
Fun stuff and the things he's good at is much
more interesting.
Speaker 5 (26:01):
We need to know, though, because I know out there
you're sitting there in your shad. I had a sibling
that was real good at this, And what it meant
was maybe you stood on the sidelines every week.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
I don't know, maybe you moved areas so they could
go to sit in school, all of those things they
want to hear how your sibling. Yeah, being good at
something impacted you. Tick through to eight two double give
us a call hunt for flavorack.
Speaker 5 (26:24):
When has your sibling been good at something and then
it's actually affected you?
Speaker 2 (26:29):
I mean, Charlie, you said a good effect though.
Speaker 6 (26:32):
Yeah, man, my brother was like the like the guy,
he was that guy playing rugby league and he was
getting all these comments and comments were actually made towards me, Like, bro,
if your brother's this guy and he's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
You probably come, you can come. I like that.
Speaker 5 (26:49):
A Tisi and eight two double ow says that me
and my brother we both got a Xbox for Christmas,
but because he ended up being way better than me
for some reason, it just meant that I less time
on it.
Speaker 3 (27:03):
Yeah yeah, Another one here say, okay, you're bringing up issues.
My sister got a swimming scholarship. I hated swimming, so
I just got to follow her around the country.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
Oh but you're like, you feel low key proud of him.
But also it's like, do I want to spend money?
Speaker 4 (27:19):
This is really annoying. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
One here says tell me why I had to watch
so much highland dancing?
Speaker 5 (27:27):
And another one here my sister's really good at singing,
but because my parents thought it would be cute if
we sang together, I used to have to always sing
with her on stage. Absolutely hated it and can't sing,
so I'm pretty sure my mic was down the whole time. Ah.
Speaker 6 (27:39):
You know what that reminds me of my brother's your knee.
He was like, it wasn't the best singing in the family.
And you know, my dad will always make us perform
to all the guests together to be together and I
usually feel hoping because like my aunties, they were ruthless,
like with their feedback was just.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
Like they just come and sit down. You just come
sit down, and it was like that.
Speaker 6 (27:58):
But I think it's me performances have impacted him, like,
you know, in a way that he just wanted to
practice his notes, practice singing. Now he's like, you know,
moving up in the wood doing Bbies.
Speaker 4 (28:14):
Sun General Fight.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
No, no, no, that's my brother Rob.
Speaker 4 (28:19):
All right, So you're just gonna be mean to see
on it.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Okay, there was, but he's moved up. He's moved up.
Speaker 5 (28:25):
He does bebes if I was to play this, yeah, no,
that's not the stadium everybody.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
Okay, you can.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
Actually tell him by the acoustics that is inside the
Flavor Fan bus.
Speaker 5 (28:40):
And at that, like when I tell you, everyone was awesome.
Speaker 4 (28:48):
Everyone made like best friends at.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
The morning sides have fe stace.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
And also the funny thing was, apart from the Warriors
metch they might be wearing, you could tell who are
our people? We just a lot like as u A,
you're my people.
Speaker 5 (29:02):
It was just it was one of those things we're
getting everyone together for this universal thing of going to
the game.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
For a lot of people.
Speaker 5 (29:10):
It was the first time in the stadium you did
have the mount smart Joker there, which, by the way,
he leaned into me and said, look, I've I've been
invited to a lot of like buses, like party buses
before and done it done quite a few. He goes,
this is hands down the best I've ever been on.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
And that's how we're do it.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
Yeah, see we and we pride in that. You know
that we are people who were like hit. It was
a vibe sheep, I know had never been to a
Warrior's game. You would not know that though, because she
went and had a hoodie maid go har to go
home and Atahu on the main.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
Street forty Bucks.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
So she looks like she's, you know, like a super fan.
And then she was like getting everyone in the mornings
I taping to sing Happy Birthday. I was inside at
that point and I looked out, and there's my new boss.
She's she works in a flavor by the looks of it,
she said, every one.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
And the palm of her hands so fun.
Speaker 2 (30:03):
That's what it's about. Man, I say, bring on round too.
Speaker 4 (30:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
And I also went into Auntie made a couple of
the boys that come down from Dargaville and they forgot
their ID or one forgot is ID.
Speaker 4 (30:11):
So we were like, we've.
Speaker 3 (30:12):
Got to charge your phone, We've got to find your
IDs so you can get on the party bus.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
It was twenty It was all good.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
It's just you know those logistics and you probably went
home and go, I know, some random lady, she was helping.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Me fire fire, Yeah, this fire. Oh we were blessed
over the week, and weren't we.
Speaker 4 (30:29):
Yes with a new tiny desk from Maxwell.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
If you're like me, it's all over your social media
face because or your friends are like, oh my goodness,
why did Maxwell just get even better? So this is
the MPR gig where they go into the headquarters in Washington,
d C. And sort of all the walls aligned with records.
It's not a very big room, and the whole thing
is it's a tiny desk and so that in there
performing half an hour set and so Maxwell just just
(30:55):
like blew it away, like you know, you're listening to
a live usion of ascension.
Speaker 6 (31:03):
Because you were running that you should not happy a fairness.
Speaker 4 (31:10):
What Bread did a cover of El Green as well?
Something beautiful?
Speaker 3 (31:16):
So many good tracks gone.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
This is something something.
Speaker 4 (31:23):
Works like, yeah, it's cool.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
Picked up, that's something something bad habits lifetime pretty ways
simply beautiful and.
Speaker 5 (31:35):
Ascension William.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
His voices, so it doesn't even sound like that. It
slightly yeah, yeah, it looks the album so.
Speaker 6 (31:51):
Yeah, Crisp, you know the Skybrow he's still got the risks.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
Yeah, no, lies man.
Speaker 6 (31:57):
The moment he opens his mouth and starts singing, I'm
just like, were you sure?
Speaker 1 (32:01):
Man?
Speaker 4 (32:02):
Reds Up?
Speaker 2 (32:03):
I really love him, you know.
Speaker 6 (32:04):
So it's just watching him live again and just seeing
the way he just controls the band and just how
smooth his vocals are.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Getting, saying he looks better now than he used to look.
Speaker 3 (32:15):

improved actually, but he's actually going to go on tour.
The Serenade Tour begins on September the fourteenth in Hollywood
and then goes across twenty seven cities. Exciting to see
that Jasmine Sullivan is performing.
Speaker 5 (32:32):
That's securitible, that's incredible. I really love that it's called
the Serenade Tour. I feel like you don't need any explanation.
You know what's going down, what's going to everyone's Auntie
is going to be trying to get on stage, you know,
and makes where I was serenade him.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
I just imagine this one.
Speaker 5 (32:48):

shut down all the chat. They're just speculating that she
has bleached her skin. Oh yeah, she's pregnant with her
third child. She's shared a photo of herself and then
people are saying bleaching while pregnant, and she just said,
why must y'all be so dumb? Actually, no, I'm pregnant
(34:43):

of my body that happens, like so she looks pale
because she is making a human.
