Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the Flavor Podcast Network. You're listening to Staci Zura
and Charlie's off the Record.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
What's your record? Welcome to off the Record with Stacy
Zura and Charlie. We bring things here they didn't go
on are this was slightly on the record, So Azara.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Yesterday we went to this amazing showcase. It's not an ad,
but it was amazing from chimistpre House and I was like,
I was probably going to go, and I said to you,
can you just let me know how good it is
because you're going before me, and you were like, it's incredible.
You have to be there, but you an interesting thing
that you said to me was you didn't want to
be in the photos, Like what was that?
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Yeah, so that sometimes when you go and I understand, like,
not a lot of people will will relate to this. Well,
I guess we've all gone to theme parties, like you
know what I mean. So they do themes sometimes for
the for events and I don't like to dress up
usually because when you dress on the thing, you always
end up on the videos and the promotional videos. And
(01:04):
the theme was future, back to the Future, and I thought,
you know what I mean to wear a sparkling shirt,
do space metallic and metallic yup, and wear earrings long earrings,
set of stars on them. And I it happened. I
had a videographer you know, behind me, fell at me
and while I'm talking to different stools and you know,
(01:27):
the camera person is around.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
But you see the interesting thing about about that as
people go oh as there would be loving that, like
then she gets sorts of coverage, but you don't feel
like that.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Nah, there's something, there's something I thought you'd like that. Nah.
It's it's weird because when they take those sort of
photos and videos, it's always candid and you don't actually
notice that they're there at first. And there's something about
not knowing you're having your photo or video taken that
feels a little bit like strange to me. Like I
(01:58):
literally was talking to someone and I turned and the
videographer was coming in and out on me. Yeah, and
I'm like just just like.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Well, see, you know people practice that for their weddings,
like the women especially, they go up practicing my soft smile,
so that you know, like when you're not we don't
know your photo is being taken a lot of people,
like I hate that I hate, you know, seeing myself
when I'm unaware of it. It's not putting a base
on but it's usually most relatable. But I mean that
leve al of like you're at a public event, you
have a public profile, you do some work and you know,
(02:27):
like influencing and that kind of stuff. But I think
everyone still has their own grade. Like so for you, Charlie,
did it feel different to go from three houses down
to being Charlie put me on the radio, like what
did that feel like? And what sort of changed? Yeah, boundaries?
Did you feel?
Speaker 1 (02:45):
I don't know, but see, going back to what you're saying,
I understand what you're what you're talking about with you know,
people taking videos of you without you knowing. But like
you know, when I was a little kid, I usede
like look at the Woman's Weekly or that, and a
lot of the celebrities they like David Bickham for example,
like when he's not really for photos, he still looks good.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Yeah. Then I in my head I had this little
thing like if you're out and about you just gotta
be like David Beckham, stay ready, you know.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Like the ones because they went to a real phase
of trying to catch celebrities out looking bad.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
A yeah, yeah today. So I was like, just just
stay really that's just my NaN's motto, Like she always
was really you. I wasn't even allowed to leave the
house in trek pants, like there was not a thing slippers,
not a thing, Like I would not actually be allowed
to do that like that. That's just not okay for her.
She wants you to be really but weirdly, you know,
(03:38):
where does it come from? Okay? So what everybody we
get insecure? It's just uninsecure about it. I had an
open like back and like I've gained weight obviously, and
so it's like I not I know then I'm going
to see that video and be liked so many pictures.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
I go, wow, that's a horrific angle and you're like
that's what I look like.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Yeah seriously and you go.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
Oh, just like citate on what I'm saying, and am
I good person?
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Because the photo is that like it's you, it's you,
just similar to like when you accidentally open up the
camera on your phone and it's like there's the front camera.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
I want to choose when I'm being confronted with my
identity and in security is okay? I don't want that
against curate the stuff I want to be fake on.
Thanks for listening to Stay Azora and Charlie's off the record.
