Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the Flavor podcast network. You're listening to Stacissura and
Charlie's off the record.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
And I want to do what to do? What to do?
Off the record? It's things you want to talk about
on the radio kind of not really. This year is
a safe space, my loc or, and a safe space
for a reason, actually, because I need to get something
off my chest. For the past two weeks, we have
been talking about this one thing almost every single day
and it's not the gym, and I feel like there,
(00:32):
I'm actually thinking about it in my head now and
I'm like, uh, what do I actually want kids?
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Oh? Wow?
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (00:40):
So wait, this likes stem from the egg.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
I wish it did from all the chats about your
babies you're older to and mainly Noah, Yeah, and you
have three children yourself, so you've brought all these to
the show about children, and it's just got me thinking.
First of all, I want to ask you a question.
Did you envisage being a father? Was that always going
to be the case for you?
Speaker 1 (01:06):
So my older brother had kids, and my sister will
say kids before I did, so that was the training.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
So those were pretty much your first children.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
My nephews and my nieces Julius. So those were the
kids before I had my own kids, and it was
fun looking after them. And the reason why it was
fun was because once you've had enough of them, you
give them back to their parents. They can stay over
for the weekend for as long as they want. But
(01:36):
then the fun element is that they go back home,
they go back to their parents, they can complain to
their parents and so forth. Like when they used to
be with me, that was just time away from parents,
from the pressure, from the chores, from everything.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
I can't imagine you not having kids because I've only
ever known you as a family man.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Yeah, and then when I had kids of my own,
was the best. You know, I'm not a perfect dad, no, No,
it's a perfect parent. Yeah, but like you know, I
I love my children. They are my everything and I
know they know that. But you get you go through
stages in your life where I mean, as as a father,
(02:21):
where you and your kids interact from a young age
but you guys are doing things together. Then they get
to a certain age where they they know it all.
And my two older boys, Rob and they're at that
stage they're had to know it all stage, whereas Noah
you know, he's really just clinging to his mom and
myself because he doesn't really know what's happening.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
And he's a baby.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
So I'm just really enjoying that moment. I can't wait
to do that. I actually really want kids. Yeah, man, honestly,
this is the best. It's the best their mind. Why
they're might every reason why I wake up and come
to work every morning. But then I love my job too.
But that's providing for them, you know, giving them opportunities
(03:04):
I didn't have as a young kid.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
There is a saying that once you have kids, there's
just something that changes, and your thing changes.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Everything changes. They put your life into perspective. Brother, you know,
so you got to have some kids, man, Yeah, when
the time is right, have some clids.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
When the time is right. I've got to find someone
to have some damn kids with. Yeah, for me, or
just adopt. I can adopt, yes, that is an option,
but I would love to.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
I just can't wait to have a family. How old
were you when you had your first See.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
I got married at the age of twenty five, okay,
twenty six, twenty six, I had Rob So it's just
a year after.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
I'm coming up to the age twenty four next year.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
But then the beauty of that is that you grow
old with your kids. Yeah, to grow them. So yeah,
I'm hoping, well, not not so much going now to
the clubs or anything with them, but you know, I'm
hoping that they could.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Could be the fundare could be fun. Yeah, they could.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
I could be the guy they ring if they're ever
stuck anywhere, I could sober drive, I could pick them up,
drop them off wherever.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
I want to be that guy where they come to
and talk Dad, I got a problem, you know what
I mean? As opposed to like bottling all the issues
in there. No, we're trying to break some generational trauma
up and this be and that's what I'm looking forward
to the mostly.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Okay, and let's to go on kids. So if y'all
know anyone who wants to kiss with me, get in touch,
put it out there.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Man.
