Speaker 1 (00:01):
The Flavor Podcast Network, Flavor Breakfast, Producer Picks Man.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Flavor Firm, and Happy Tongue and Language Week is producer
and I back for another episode of Producer Picks, where
I pick my favorite moments of Steak, Sizer and Charlie
from the week and I check them all in one
place on under the Team. We're lucky enough to be
joined by our now from four shlves covered kick Off
Tongue and Language Week tasting out some cover.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
We are being joined by a very special guest, Anna
from the.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Fours Cover Lounge. Such a beautiful place, and you know
it's almost eight o'clock in the morning, and it's only
right that if we do have Anna in the house,
we've gotta have some cover with it, you know.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
Guys, Yes, Tongue and Language Week we celebrate, so we
actually help us with some language as well that we
can use around cover as we try it.
Speaker 5 (00:54):
Yeah, maybe we can say or they both the shell,
the cover and the people. And before you have it,
just off which means love, warmth, I miss you depends
on who you're.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
Talking, but goodness into the universe. Yeah, okay, so let's go.
You got Charlie or is there a ticke on way
of who goes first?
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Or oh no, so I don't know in the setting,
how would it work enough?
Speaker 5 (01:24):
Yeah, usually there's there's you know, there's quite traditional ways
of doing cover obviously, and they very right across the
different Pacific islands. But today we just have it casually.
Speaker 6 (01:34):
So Charlie, it's me.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
It's no, I'm still alive.
Speaker 5 (01:44):
I was just going off.
Speaker 6 (01:45):
Who looked at the exactly?
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Wow? Exactly? Okay, I guess you're.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Nice.
Speaker 6 (01:52):
I will wait for everyone. Do I wait for everyone?
Speaker 4 (01:58):
It's not very good at holding my own nice. I
just didn't get my I did a spillage apart from there.
Oh yeah, you want us to do the whole thing. Yes,
you have to, you take the whole thing.
Speaker 6 (02:10):
Yeah, okay, sorry, sorry to know that.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
So right now you're drinking the land? Am I right
from the roots straight?
Speaker 7 (02:16):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Well?
Speaker 4 (02:18):
It does remind me of, like say, the different different tastes,
but the nice fool really rich, earthy.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
Your first time having cover?
Speaker 6 (02:29):
Yeah, I believe it or not. I don't know why
we're a bean.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
What have you done to stay? All right?
Speaker 5 (02:40):
We'll go in the first.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Yeah, I can pass it on.
Speaker 6 (02:44):
They're definitely not going in age anymore.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
So we always tell people, you know, you drink cover
for the effects, not for the taste. And part of
the taste is the cover experience itself.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
It's quite a lot in here.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
And so the experience and what what will it be?
You know when you're saying the effects.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
So the experience, it depends. There's different cultivars, and different
cultivars or strains of gava have different effects. So if
you're hanging out and the Gava lounge and you're drinking
from a bowl like this, the effects as you start
to feel math funner, there's a there's a warmth that
comes with you're connecting and no, and then they say
the saying govera speaks. So if you're drinking cover, make
(03:29):
sure don't be careful. If you have any secrets, it
all comes out comes out.
Speaker 6 (03:34):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
But also like say, if you're not a confident speaker
of tongue, and so this will help. If that cover
helps you speak.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
You could you could go into a Gaba club or
go to four Shellers lounge and you know, your tongue
can be a bit like you know, hell, hell many mixed.
You go sit down and have cover, then all of
a sudden, you come out like a like you're just
landed from Tonga.
Speaker 6 (03:57):
Yeah, fluent, now fluent, all my tongues having fun over here.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
All nice, same here. But you're right about it not
being you know, you don't do it for the taste.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
You do it for the well, it's true, but I've
had I've had cover. I think this is my third time.
That is the best, hands down, hands down, guys.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
Nice Charlie and so he well this is not his
first time. That was pretty quick.
Speaker 6 (04:24):
Yeah, so good. Nice, the whole bottle, the whole bottle.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Home, so nice. And it's nice to have you know,
cover here it flavor celebrating tongue language again with now obviously.
Speaker 6 (04:38):
Wow, that's that's nice.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
That's beautiful. Usually have it with like a lollipop or yes,
as a chaser.
Speaker 6 (04:49):
Why would you do that? Why do you do that?
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Cha?
Speaker 5 (04:52):
Yeah, just takes the taste away.
Speaker 6 (04:55):
I quite like the taste.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
It's the fun.
Speaker 6 (04:58):
I like, what's happening with my Are.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
You going to go now?
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (05:03):
Yeah I will, Thanks you veryon and hope everyone's having
an awesome.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Day of.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
Beautiful Thank you, and remember you can actually you know,
like if you're feeling a little bit moke, feeling a
little bit lonely now and you want to go along
to full shows cover lounge. You're down at Victoria Park
Market from four o'clock. Too late, and we mean late,
so late.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
It's early, right, yeah, so late that you can get
in trouble when you get home.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Also this week and celebration of Tongue and Language Week,
Charlie shared a tongue in proverb each day and my
favorite one from the week was city peer kaiha, which
means small but great.
Speaker 6 (05:40):
The Tongue and Language Week, So we need help from Charlie.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
Charlie, and so tongue and language was at your first
language at home?
Speaker 1 (05:47):
That is yeah, yes, correct. So I went to school
not knowing a word of English. I was that kid
the Gays. He doesn't say anything in English. So here
we go. I have sustain the language here at work.
And our tongue in proverb for this morning is city
bear gay ha city bag. I have small buck great.
(06:10):
This tongue in proverb stands as an encouragement for anyone
who feels their lacking in life. Every little bit you
put into the world is considered greatness. Who you are
now with what little you have is more than enough
to start and continue your path to achieving your goals. Nice.
I like city back, small buck great.
Speaker 6 (06:30):
City Becker guy.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Yeah, City city beg. I beautiful ladies, beauty beg.
Speaker 6 (06:38):
I Okay, got it.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Stacey's daughter has just turned sixteen and set her learn
a license and she managed to get one thing wrong,
but it's not what you would expect.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
The other day a good milestone moment for one of
my kids. My daughter turned sixteen and the next day
went in to go for her learner's license, and yeah,
she was successful. And the only questions she got wrong
were about giving way and I said, that's on brand,
baby girl.
Speaker 6 (07:09):
But we got this, so that was fantastic.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
And taken her id and I see her fill in
the form and I go, that's not how your middle
name is spelled.
Speaker 6 (07:19):
She had been.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
She's like, okay, I've been spelling my middle name wrong
my whole life. Her middle name is Beverly. It's one
of her middle names, named after her nana. And I
actually remember when she was born. I said to her nana,
you know, we wanted to call her after Nana's so
Biverly Sue, And I said to her nana Beverly Viv.
Speaker 6 (07:37):
I said, so, is that l E y or l y?
And she said, well.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
That's debatable, but I don't know if you should call
this child, you know, give her that name.
Speaker 6 (07:45):
It's a terrible name.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
And I'm like, so, Biba, I just want to know
how it's spelled. She's like, oh, well, that's debatable. So
she never really said so. I looked up and we
put ali y.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
Yes. I would have gone l Y no.
Speaker 6 (07:59):
She she has that's how she spells your name.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
But even though she didn't ansk me directly, but anyway,
so my daughter's been spelling it without a knee. She's
been spelling her own middle name wrong. Also, why yeah, wow,
But I don't know that she's alone.
Speaker 6 (08:14):
I mean, that sounds like a weird thing to do.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
I would have gone, yeah, b E V E R
L Y no.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
But it's your own name, so you should know, right,
so as the anyone else. You know, there's these things
that you should really know about yourself, but you've been
doing it wrong. I know people who thought their birthday
was one day and the one day out because their
mother just told them in the wrong day, or like say,
their middle name spelling you know that wrong.
Speaker 6 (08:37):
That's that's the thing.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Okay, you got me, I'm guilty of this. So my
mother name and don't laugh. Okay, my mother name is
Kendall and this whole time right, I've been filling out
Kendle with two hours at the end. U lets you
find out that it's only one now. Yeah, see so
it's mate from years. I'm named after my your dad
(09:04):
sister will have the rights to name you named after
my dad's sister's husband child Kindles Brakes.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
Right, So that's how you got kindled there. But you've
been spelling your name wrong.
Speaker 6 (09:14):
That's sailing.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
You're wrong.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Not alone here, So something you should really know about yourself.
My husband has two versions of his middle name.
Speaker 6 (09:20):
One starts with J, one starts with G. So these
are key details everybody.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
You should know them, like maybe even why you've got
that middle name.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
You know.
Speaker 6 (09:30):
So when I sat there with just my daughter and Charlie,
tick through to eight two double logan, it's called.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Normal one else.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
See.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
The thing is assumption to wrap my brain for things
that I've got wrong about myself.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
I'm probably just still doing it and don't know what
they are.
Speaker 6 (09:48):
I notice it every day, Thank you.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
On Wednesday, thanks and got a bert rogue. When talking
about celebrity crushes, Charlie seems to be fangling over a
seventy year old lady. Well, Stace, it's all about cartoon characters.
Speaker 6 (10:03):
Well that was quite a moment yesterday, wasn't it as Eve?
Speaker 4 (10:05):
When Charlie we were just doing oh goss and talking
about how Beyonce's mom just found out what her song
ego is about. She just realized, oh my, oh my,
I had not really thought about that.
Speaker 6 (10:21):
And and Tina Noles.
Speaker 4 (10:22):
Who's by the way, recently separated and just had gone
through a divorce sediment, she was like, oh, okay, okay.
Speaker 6 (10:29):
Okay, daughter.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
And then Charlie decided decides to take it to a place.
Now when I say I wasn't expecting this, I mean it.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
We've actually we've got the clips, so we're going to
run it back. You know, I'm just looking at beyond
his mum. I think she's pretty hoty. She definitely forgot it. Well,
what's wrong with that?
Speaker 4 (10:51):
Nothing's wrong with me? Sivity years old. By the way,
Civinthy doesn't look at Civity.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Wow. Honestly, I've never seen beyond his mom ever, really honestly,
and it wasn't until I seen her on that little
it's just a little profile picture at the bottom. What
does that beyond his mum or sister. She's pretty, she's
pretty hot.
Speaker 6 (11:13):
She looks like a tongue and beauty queen and that's
your look.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
See and and honestly, obviously she's got the she got
the money, so she's probably done a lot of work
to herself. Okay, that's what I appreciate. We do that
she just had worked on. No, no, no, I got
to appreciate somebody because you know a lot of people say,
I know, you know, I'm too old to be doing
this and doing that.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Listenes my just vacation of his rogue celebrity crush, because
that is what it is.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
It was rogue. It was really rogue.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
I really did not expect you to say that a
seventy year old it's not a just over there fteena
knowles I call it.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
Use Have you got a rogue celebrity crash? Is there
a issue you have?
Speaker 6 (11:56):
Probably?
Speaker 3 (11:57):
Wow, I used to I used to have a really
big crush on the boy who played the live action
Peter Pan.
Speaker 6 (12:06):
If you know you know live action Peter Pan.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Yeah, he's like the little blonde blonde boy.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
It was the first time I was like, oh, where's
my heart feeling like this? Why interesting? Same was you
know this is pre my Justin Bieber fascinating.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
Oh yeah, that's a yeah, that's a Justin Tim like
doesn't biber zisty kind of Look right now.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
Every girl that watched the live action Peter Pan, they
know what I'm talking about.
Speaker 4 (12:33):
I can go Rogan than that, okay, oh no, no,
the Beast and Beauty and the Beast like the cartoon figures,
only when he's a beast, not when he turned into
like the handsome, handsome prince.
Speaker 6 (12:45):
No, the beast.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Yeah, yeah, see that the animal? Right, Yeah, this is
what I'm saying. What.
Speaker 6 (12:51):
No, I'm not alone. I stand by this. I am
not embarrassed.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
No, you're you're right.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
You what the actual it's a it's a it's a
cartoon fictional.
Speaker 6 (13:00):
I know that. Yeah, it's gonna lie though.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
It's more he's got.
Speaker 6 (13:10):
Oh my god, but not where he lost it.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
It was like when Shriek when good looking, but actually
Shriek good looking was good.
Speaker 6 (13:18):
It was quite good.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
I don't know. I had a friend that intermediate when
family matters was a thing, Steve Rkle. They crushed on
Steve Rkle. That's my friend Finnick. By the way. They
love Steve Kle. And there was one episode when Steve
Erkle went into like this time machine and came out
like the spunky ash. Yeah, but it wasn't it.
Speaker 8 (13:40):
No.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
And even though I see I don't know his real names,
Steve Rkle's real name, but when I see him in
magazines or like on Instagram and all that stuff, still
he's like Steve Rkle to me, I can't I can't
unsee that.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
Yeah, hey, look we definitely got a little row. But
we know you out there. It's time to admit it.
It's time to get it off your chest. Who's that
celebrity that you crushed on or have a crush on
that you're like, it's a weird one.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
It's quite ro it's rogue.
Speaker 6 (14:12):
We gave you some range. There can be more rogue
than what we just gave you.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
It's weird, but it works. It works to you. Eight
two double one hundred and fourth flavor. Can you beat
Beauty and the Beast? Just the Beast and some trick.
Speaker 6 (14:27):
And we are going a rogue.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
I apologize in advance. But yesterday, when talking about Beyonce's
mother Tina Knowles, only just finding out what ego means,
he came back up.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
He got a big ego. She finally realized what those
lyrics meant.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
And then Charlie looking at a little photo of you know,
Beyonce's seven year old mother.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
What do you say like that seven year old just say, mom.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Well her mom. He made this rogue confession.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
You know, I'm just looking at beyond his mum. I
think she's pretty hotty. She definitely forgot it.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
That's his rogue, celebrity crush as of usterday, and as
people are saying on the text wall, yeah, like don't
crack she I mean it's not typical seventeen year old
bats and then usual rogue, perhaps a celebrity crush.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
It's not as bad as yours those days, which was
the cartoon character from Beauty and the Beast.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
The beast, but he's not allowed to be.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
No, not as he supposedly hate, no, just beast form.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
He's going to be beastful. But you're not the only one.
Someone else is for some reason.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
I also had a crush on I think it's called
Lamyah from Beauty and the Beast. I'm assuming that's the
same person, Lamiah Noma.
Speaker 6 (15:48):
The candle what Yeah, no, the candle? No?
Speaker 1 (15:53):
No, agus do you know? Okay? This is this is weird, right,
So now we're crushing on the beast. Are you going
to give something the candle? Nah? But I've seen this thing, bro,
and I was at the gym where people love their
cars like they love Yes, yes, you know what I'm
(16:16):
talking about. But we're not taking it to that. I know,
but this is it's giving.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
That Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know exactly what you're trying
to say. This text is actually very funny and very specific.
This is the definition of a rogue celebrity crush. I'm
not attracted to John Legend at all. He is an
incredibly handsome man, but for some reason, I'm only attracted
to him when I watched the musical Jesus Christ Superstar.
Speaker 6 (16:43):
Jesus Christ Superstar.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
What is it? Isn't like the musical thing?
Speaker 6 (16:49):
If you don't seen that, No, well maybe what character
is he?
Speaker 1 (16:53):
I'm not sure, but I just know he's in.
Speaker 6 (16:55):
There place Jesus Christ. That might be it.
Speaker 4 (16:58):
Oh that might be why, that might be why the
superstar this is pretty unbeatable as well.
Speaker 6 (17:05):
Raphael from Ninja Turtles.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
Oh see he broke This is what I'm talking about.
To steer away from there. This is what about the
sticks u Zohan from me?
Speaker 3 (17:14):
You know me, you know and he's actually like going
away with ladies, you know that.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
He just almost like people are crushing in celebrities when
there playing characters. Yeah, like real weird characters like I'm
not gonna lie. This is my wife's saying it. And
I don't know whether to be angry or have a laugh.
But when Snoop Dogg was at the Olympics and he
was attempting to do some weightlifting, she goes, he's pretty attractive.
(17:44):
I'm like, oh my gosh, when you have seen me
work out for how long? And I have never heard
you say that to me. And Snoop Dogg goes up
with a little stick on and she says, oh, he's
pretty attractive.
Speaker 6 (17:59):
No, Lis left Lise Charlie, that's what I do.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
List Charlie has a new concept of normalizing parents having
some alone time, but a zure a moral least, takes
it as a sign just to not have children.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
About a week ago, I celebrated my birthday and people
ask me, Charlie, how old are you? I am this old?
I am this old to a point where I just
want to stay at home, watch TV, have some snacks,
and have no kids around, you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (18:29):
So you are actually so old that you will paying
money to be able to do that.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
And this is what I'm trying to say. It's like
contraception for me.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
You know.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Oh wow, I'm not kidding.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Like hearing that, I'm like paying someone to have a
loone time is when you really break that down as
someone with no kids, I'm like, that's.
Speaker 6 (18:49):
Crazy to me.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
I know, that's actually crazy.
Speaker 6 (18:52):
So you did that.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
I did that, and it wasn't paying people. People off it. Okay,
let me take the kids. Yeah, yeah, lucky and you
and say you need to relax. No, weren't you guys
supposed to go to something? Yeah? So the reason you
got the baby so there was actually we're we're missed
to go somewhere. Yeah you had an event, yeah, but
then we ended up just chilling out because I fell asleep. Ah,
(19:13):
you know, but it was just nice, do you know
what I mean? Like, there are no kids, no ma'am
with us. You know, Dad can do us nothing. All
we did was had our little snacks, had some babies
at home. Oh and it was just the two of you,
just the two of us. And then you know, it
lasted for only about maybe an hour and a bit
(19:34):
and then chewing in the room, went on the phone.
I was on my phone. They really nice uninterrupted phone time,
uninterrupted And we come back together and we're just watching TV.
We're like, brod, this is so good. We needed did
you get takeaways?
Speaker 3 (19:47):
Nah?
Speaker 9 (19:48):
You know, you know.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
It was so good. But this is what I'm saying,
we need to normalize this as parents, you know what
I mean, just ninety nine, let's say ninety eight percent
of the time, you know, we give old time to
our kids and to other things. That's practically evolves, you know,
that is.
Speaker 6 (20:09):
Your life revolves, revolves, yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Around on kids. So when do we actually get time
to ourselves. It's really we don't really get that right staces.
Speaker 6 (20:19):
Yeah, I must admit.
Speaker 4 (20:20):
When we went to Toy two Dead el the Martin
Language Festival in Hawk's Bay the other day, so we
both flew down and we couldn't get back until the
next morning, so we stayed the night. We see to
our friends, I will catch up that night, but low key,
they were too tired because they were organizing the whole thing,
and we're like, yes.
Speaker 6 (20:40):
We just go to our hotel room just us.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
See. I love that you guys both planned to be
busy and then the reality is it's better not having
any plans. Heaven't know, Charlie, you sleeping through the event
ended up being the best thing for you and your
wife because you've got the you got, you know, the
kids to go and be babysat for you two to
go to an event. I think you guys should both
normalize getting the kids looked after to just sit on
(21:05):
your butts and eat takeaways at home.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Man, I know. I mean couples have date nights, but
this ultimate date nights. Ultimate date nights.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
I also have the bonus prizes. Two teenagers who are
old enough to look up.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
Oh you.
Speaker 6 (21:21):
A mountain, We're citing the.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
Mountains.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
Stay shares another informative hip hop mystery with the backstory
of the fujis Killing Me Softly and who really originally
wrote the song?
Speaker 1 (21:34):
Hip Hop.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
And Today's hip hop mystery is all about a song
that you will know and love.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
A big track.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
So killing Me Softly and not only made Rolling Stones
list of the five hundred Greatest Songs of All Time,
it made the list twice.
Speaker 6 (21:57):
The nineteen seventy three ROBERTA.
Speaker 4 (21:59):
Flack hit and vision of this song is number two
hundred and seventy three.
Speaker 6 (22:04):
A stranger to mar.
Speaker 3 (22:09):
With this version.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Well, the Fuji's Hits from nineteen ninety six comes in
at three hundred and fifty nine, so it's the only
song on the list that appears in two different versions,
both Grammy winning number one hits. But this song wasn't
written by either of them. It was written by a
nineteen year old songwriter called Laurie Lieberman who wrote a
(22:32):
poem after going to see Don McLain, who sings American Pie,
and she felt so moved by him that he was
strumming her fate with his fingers, singing her life with
his words, that she wrote this song, killing so with
this song, this.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
Song.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
So the version did go well, But the really key
moment and the moment that the fate was sealed, was
when ROBERTA. Fla heard the song playing on a plane in.
Speaker 8 (23:02):
The States at that time, there was this sort of
a fight between I like Roberta's version better, I like
Laurie's version. But it was this big silly thing pictures
in the paper of Robert of me and then Dawn
Bill she stole my song.
Speaker 6 (23:16):
It wasn't that at all.
Speaker 8 (23:17):
She made it something I wouldn't have, you know, ever
have done. I never would have done this kind of
a two feel that she did.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
So Roberta.
Speaker 6 (23:25):
Fleck had heard it on the plane and played it
a lot.
Speaker 9 (23:28):
And I listened to it about five times before the
plane landed.
Speaker 4 (23:31):
And she decided to you know, what could I do
with this song? And then she's on tour with Quincy Jones.
Speaker 9 (23:36):
And they wanted an encore and Quincey said, row do something.
I said, well, I have this new song I've been
working on. So I started in.
Speaker 6 (23:44):
A straw in my bay with his faces.
Speaker 9 (23:47):
After I finished, the audience would not stop screaming, and
Quincey said, row, don't sing that dagg on song no
more until you record.
Speaker 6 (23:57):
And so she recorded it and the rest is straight.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
Then, when the Fujis decided to do a version of
nineteen ninety six prize, Michael wanted to change some of
the lyrics, but actually wasn't allowed, And michaeliff Jean reminds
us that doing a cover of a song has some
financial implications.
Speaker 10 (24:13):
Wein't write it, but we performed it and it was amazing,
and we made somebody eight million dollars. Right, So that
mean that whoever was the composer who wrote it was
literally sleeping in his bed and he made eight million
dollars like that, right, And then now look at how
big that version is, so that person copyright has generated
(24:38):
them millions and millions of dollars.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Damn.
Speaker 6 (24:44):
And as you can hear by his voice doesn't even
know who it was.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
But now so if you don't know, now you know
the story of killing meselfly that's your hip hop mystery.
