Speaker 3 (00:19):
Good morning, Good morning Tim.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
So Friday today, he's not looking too flash, is it,
with the areas of low pressure bringing rain or showers
to the country.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Yes, the only flesh, but will be all the lightning
we're likely to get this afternoon, particularly around the top
of the South Island.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Thunderstorms, moderate risk of severe thunderstorms. God, it's looking a
bit grim for some places, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Yeah, Well, certainly some of the people do like watching
the thunderstorms and stuff, but Suddainly, Orchard Justice and stuff
won't like the hail and things that come with that.
So we've had a few of these at the sort
of top of the South Island the last week or so,
and unfortunately it has been another day it's action up there.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
The reports say average summer temperatures for most what's an
average summer temperature.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Well, for the North Island we're looking at sort of
low to mid twenties for most places. Suddainly sort of givesbon.
Tiraffiti has probably got the warmer ones today, where they'll
probably have to wait the longest for the North Island
before rain comes. The South Islands perhaps a little bit

(01:35):
average to cool, sort of in the twenties, and some
eastern areas may actually struggle to get too much into
the high teens.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
What are the places to be today, Well, certainly.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
That Gisbon Tarrafity year won't hopefully see any showers until
fairly late in the afternoon, but pretty much anywhere else
has something at some point in the day. Milford sounds
probably the other good spot. The rain there has sort
of finished and it will be nice day down there.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
What about looking a little further ahead in the week, Saturday,
Sunday and then maybe the start of the week when
some people are going back to work.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Yeah, so suddenly tomorrow things should generally be clearing up
for many paces, but there could still be some afternoon
showers about, particularly for the North Island. But the South Island,
particularly the West coast, is looking pretty good. And then yeah,
the next sort of days are sort of relatively nice,

(02:39):
particularly for South North again may just see some afternoon
showers about.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
That's good to hear. A little bit of settle weather
coming our way. Hey, thanks Alistair. That's Alista Gorman from
the Met Service.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
