pronunciation right there.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Order it's a magnificent name.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
Oh thanks, thanks very much. Yeah, that was a fine effort.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Hey, how's the weather looking across across New Zealand today?

Speaker 4 (00:40):
Well, today we're being affected by what we call an
upper low and cold temperatures at the upper levels which
give rise to strong instability. Given that this time of year,
the daytime heating is very strong near the surface, so
that next thing is very unstable. So we're looking at
thunderstorms for many areas, especially the east of this North Island,

(01:02):
where they could even be severe. Northern parts of the
North Island are a bit sheltered, but they could see
some showers. But I think the best weather today will
be the south of the South Island, but we may
even get some showers there.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
When you say severe, is that things that the locals
are going to be concerned about from a flooding point
of view?

Speaker 4 (01:24):
Yeah, absolutely. That is one of the well the symptoms
of a severe thunderstorm. The severity of the thunderstorms is
determined by the rainfall rate, so we're thinking that there
could be downpours with rainfall intensities of more than twenty
five mills an hour, large hail which could affect orchard discs.

(01:46):
So if there's any way to cover up orchards, I
mean even cars could be a good idea to park
undercover if we're expecting these and the strong windcasts are
also possible.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Yeah, okay, thanks so much for your time as hoar
as a dozen of the Meat Service.
