Speaker 2 (00:16):
We are joined by acc head G Lane on the
ground and Las Vegas ahead of the NRL Opening round
in Sin City. G Lane, Welcome to the show. Are
you seeing a league vibe in Vegas?

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Afternoon? Gents? Listen? I presumed their League fans and Warriors
fans were just would just assimilate into the chaos that
is Vegas and you wouldn't really notice them. But they
are everywhere. Everywhere you look. There is Warriors fans everywhere.
There's Kiwi lizards left, right and center, all in the merch.

(00:52):
I got yelled at for not wearing merch this morning.
It's pretty It's pretty cool to see actually, and everyone.
I think the park m GM is basically floor to
ceiling Warriors fans. They're out in the street drink and
they're loving it. You can walk around with a lead
can and just walk into a bar and drink of it.
It's my Dani. I'm not coming home.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
So you're seeing a lot more Warriors' shirts and Raiders
panthers or Shark shirts.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
I can't say I've seen a Raiders. I have not
seen one. I think I've seen one tens top, but
the rest of them, it's just ars city. It's hilarious.
It is very hilarious. It's dangerously confusing for the locals too,
because they have no idea what this says and what's
going on. It's just heaps as heavily tattooed warriors, fans

(01:44):
necking a lot of beers in the streets. It's beautiful.
Bring the tear in my eye.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Any idea where the warriors are locked up to keep
them out of trouble, Well they are.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
We're going to an ice hockey game at t Mobile.
We're going it's the Golden Knights versus the black Hawks
here and I believe that've been hooked up by Bill Foley,
who owns Aukland, their cea as well. He also owns
the Golden Knights. I believe they're all attending the eye
hockey game tonight. Okay, so watch a bit of that,
so that's safe.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Buses leave the hotel, counting buddies in the buses into
the ice hockey away from the bears, straight into the
bus and then locked in their rooms overnight.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
And I cannot believe that they managed to pull this
off last year with no headlines. It's just temptation everywhere
here in Vegas. So I've made it so well last
year to keep that under wraps. Obviously, the sight in
the elevator this year.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah, yeah, it sounds like sorry Mike jumping there. It
sounds like for a lot of the KIWI fans, it
might be like a lot of Las Vegas trips. They're
going hard on night one and maybe a little bit
dusty by time the game rolls around.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
I'll tell you what I bumped into Ben Hurley earlier,
and that he is. He's given his soul to Vegas.
Ri ip. Ben Hurley. He had a big night yesterday,
big day use today and he didn't leave his hotel
room till three o'clock in the afternoon. He couldn't face
the world four guys. So yeah, I think people, if
they get it out of their system, now we've got

(03:12):
another night and then we've got the league.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
I think first night, first night fever is acceptable because
you've got a whole day to recover before heading before
heading the stadium on SETI yeah, well.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
I got seen a picture about three hours ago from
my mother in law who was dancing to wagon Wheel
somewhere in Las Vegas.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Good Night for the mother in law.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
She'd found a covers band playing Wagon's wagon Wheel, so
she's going hard. So you've got the Camra, You've got
the Raiders and the Warriors, and you've got the Panthers,
and you've got the Sharks. Then you've got the Wigan
Warriors and the Warrington Wolves. I mean, this is something
we haven't heard of it. And you've got the Jilla
Rues versus the England Woman's team. Are you going to
make it all the way to the end to watch
the Australian No, you know you watch the Panthers. Just

(03:54):
are you Warriors, Raiders and out?

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Yeah? I'm Warriors and Raiders out. I'm afraid I've come
to Vegas with a mission and that mission includes not
spending nine hours watching rugby league at the stadium. But
i am. I'm there for the Warriors. Martin Fires in town,
the Chariot Chariot so Fire. The legendary Wigan rugby league
player Friendo Botica is here as well. There's a lot

(04:20):
of old leagues and Gordon Kellous almost gotten fister cuffs
with Brodie Kane last night in the bar as well.
I wouldn't have ended well for Bronie. Hell of a story.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Okay, Well, thank you for talking to us, Gulane, appreciate it.
And just before we go, can I say just get
out now. Nothing good happened from Vegas. Turn around, get
on a plane, go home and hug your family. Wise advice,
get out now it's too late. Nothing good's going to
happen from now on. All right, okay, all.
