and the organizer of the fantastic Pillar to Poe. He's
on the line now, Tallburn, Very good afternoon to you.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Hey, how you doing very good having me on?

Speaker 4 (00:32):
No worries?

Speaker 5 (00:32):
What is Pillar to Poe and how is it different
from other running events Pillar to po Yes.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Our normal event. It is a relay running event. So
we're making running a team sport. So six hours, as
many laps as you and your team can do. Teams
have two up to six running along the beautiful lake
Topaul lakefront from the Tuma Bay Sailing Clubs the new
Tier Tier Square in the town center and back. Is

(00:57):
the sort of concept.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
And how far is that? How far far is the
round trip?

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Seven point three kilometers?

Speaker 4 (01:03):
Seven point three? Yeah? How serious? Is it?

Speaker 5 (01:06):
Is a hard out running com petition? Or can can
you walk it if you want?

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Oh, you can definitely walk it. But we do have it.
We do have a serious side to it as well.
We've got a thousand dollars fastest lap for male and female.
But the big one is we've got one thousand dollar
closest to average lap, So anyone that gets out there
and just does a lap to be into one a
thousand bucks. So yeah, that's sponsor Bley Penny Homes the
fastest lap and Bailey's topal for the closest average lap.

(01:35):
So yeah, we're going to reward people for getting out there.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
So and see, in terms of team numbers, what would
be your recommendation to them?

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Well, depending how many drinks you want to have, and
you know how how social you want it to be.
Obviously for me as a publican and the owner of
one of the New Zealand's best venues, I kind of
want to run to do one lap and then have a.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
Number of drinks.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
So yeah, very good. But on that we do have
a number of guys doing the event solo. So these
are guys that are going to start and run six
thousand non stop, so you know there's bad aspect to
it as well.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
I thought Matt Heath was pretty brave. How many is
in your team three? But one person's going to sit out,
mat so it's just you and you mate.

Speaker 5 (02:15):
There's four people in our team, but one of them
is trying to just become a sit at two Mile
Bay Sailing Club running the home based cup situation because
that's the team's rest up and hydrate basically at two
Mile Bay Sailing Club. Well, one person runs, then you
come back and you swap it. You're actually running batons?
Or how is it sort of monitored? Is it just
a slap of the hands.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
So yeah, no, no, we've got to We've got a
little slap band. Remember the old school slap bands, O yah,
slap bands with the timing chips. So when you come
over to transition, your teamates waiting there and you put
the slap band on their wrist and then they take
off and hit a lap.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
Oh awesome.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Man.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
Do you run past boom Boom?

Speaker 5 (02:51):
Or was boom boom in a different part of town?

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Boom booms in a different part of town?

Speaker 2 (02:57):
What the hell is boom boom? Excuse my naivete.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Boom booms the new dinosaur? Ah right, fantastic.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
I'll stop buy and get a shot with boom Boom
before come down to the two Mile Bay Sailing Club.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
How do people into torburn?

Speaker 3 (03:13):
So pull it apo dot com just go on there
and you can register your team, or if you've got
a team already that you're going to join, you just
you just jump into that team, as simple as that.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
All right, Well, look out for my team. Haglin's Deformity
will be will be the one to watch.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
I think they'll be the stragglers right at the back.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
I mean for Torburn to watch in ejecting from the
PABA for a few hours.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Yeah, very wise, but it's gonna I mean, it's gonna
be awesome. We're showcasing to Malban in a slightly different way.
We've kind of taken over the car park and the
surrounding area and extended our licensed area, so it's going
to be you know, it's going to be really awesome
to showcase the place to everyone and have people come
and get physical and then hydrate.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Yeah. Yeah, we'll head down to Topol. How good. I'm excited.
Fantastic event.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
