in emergency housing. Masterton based list MP and Labour Housing
spokesperson Kiran Macinnaughty has seen a noticeable increase in homelessness
over the past six months. Some residents are building a
night shelter for people to sleeping rough. Mister macnaughty told

Coast guards today continued looking for a fisherman missing near Auckland.
The man had been collecting shellfish at Fatipu on Friday
night near the entrance to Monaco Harbor when he went
into the water and was swept away. He was not
wearing a life jacket. A Coastguard spokesperson says crews from
Papacuda and Auckland Air Patrol have been out today looking
for him. Voting for Bird of the Year has just closed.

Forest and Bird's last snapshot as of Wednesday saw the
hoy Hoo yellow eyed Penguin overtake the Carure Black Robin
by almost six hundred votes. If the hoy Ho wins,
this would be its second Bird of the Year title,
having first won in twenty nineteen. Competition spokesperson Ellen Rikers
says there's been some amazing homegrown campaigns for the birds.
