this update, a woman is assisting police inquiries after a
council worker found a dead baby in Auckland's Albert Park
this morning. Detective Senior Sergeant Ash Matthews says the woman
is believed to be the baby's mother. Mister Matthews says
a scene examinations underway and a post mortem examination will

to see a famine in Gaza while Israel gears up
for further military action. A United Nations backed monitors confirmed
parts of Gaza are experiencing a man made famine. The
Hamas backed health ministry says sixty one people have died
from air strikes and starvation in the past twenty four hours.

Chris Luxon says the government still calling for the immediate
release of hostages and for Israel to allow unhindered aid
into Gaza. What we don't want to see is what
we have seen, which is Israel moving into Gaza City.

A justice advocacy group wants to see a minimum eight
year jail term for coward punchers. In June, Justice Minister
Paul Goldsmith announced specific offenses for striking a distracted victim,
but Sensible Sentencing Trust says that's more of a rebrand
of manslaughter than anything. Spokesperson Louise Parson says in some
cases offenders get only twelve months home detention for manslaughter.

Only murder and driving drunk carry minimum sentences. An economics
professor says New Zealand Post is one of many courier
services pausing some shipping to the United States because of
trade tariffs. On its website, New Zealand Post says it's
suspending a number of services to the United States and
its territories from next week until further notice. While former

processes around the new United States tariffs are being finalized.
All package services will be suspended. Customers can still send letters.
University of Otago's professor Murat Angore says no one has
much idea yea how the tariffs will be practically implemented.
