In this update, kiwis are being urged to be extra
careful with fires, particularly for the next hour as firefighters
strike again. Members of the Professional Firefighters Union are off
the job until one pm. Fire and Emergency will continue

due to poor work conditions that aren't being addressed in
bargaining talks well right health and safety issues, not mental

Has found dead and unexplained circumstances at another house on
the same property just after two this morning. Detective Senior
Sergeant Paul Wilson says SCEENE examinations underway and police aren't
ruling out any further arrests or charges. Police would like
to speak with anyone who may have visited the address
between seven pm New Year's Eve and three am today.

And investigations underway after a serious crash near Levin that
left a person critically injured last night. Police had been
seeking a hold In Captiva due to a number of
driving complaints prior to the crash, and it failed to
stop for an officer. The car collided with a van
on State Highway fifty seven near the intersection of Kimberly
and utter Pipe South Roads before seven thirty pm. Inspector

Ashley Gurney says the Serious Crash Unit are investigating whether
alcohol was involved. Police would like to hear from anyone
with dash cam footage or who may have witnessed the
Holden Captiva driving south through Levin prior to the crash.
