is out of technical recession. Latest GDP figures from stats
n Z show our economy grew zero point seven percent
between October and December. With more business reporter Michael sergle.

Our economy contracted one point one percent in the preceding
two quarters. Economists had been expecting a growth rate in
between zero point three and zero point five percent over
the three month period. Our recovery from recession is expected
to be gradual and uneven.

Meanwhile, Fonterra farmers are in line for a large payout
on interim results, the co ops lifting its dividend to
twenty two cents a share from fifteen in the previous
comparable period. It's reporting its first half profit increased eight
percent to seven hundred and twenty nine million dollars. Chief
executive Miles Hurrel says it's a strong first half.
