this update. Canterbury fire crews have contained a suspicious vegetation
fire near the town of Sheffield. Around fifty firefighters and
three helicopters are working to put out the sixty hectare
blaze at the wy Macadery riverbank near the Gorge Bridge.
It's burnt through gorse, broom and pine trees. Crews monitored

the area since nine last night as the conditions were
too dangerous for firefighting. Overnight. Fire and emergency and police
