Good afternoon. I'm Susy Nordquist, and this is your midday
news fixed for Thursday, the twenty eighth of August, a
Catholic school in the American city of Minneapolis, is devastated
after a gunman killed two children and injured seventeen others.
The man, armed with a rifle, shotgun, and pistol, shot
through church windows before turning the gun on himself. Annunciation

Catholic School was holding morning mass, highlighting their theme for
the new school year as Hope. A witness has told
NBC News she was thankful to see children running out safely,
the looks on some of their faces.

It's been a good year for Port of Auckland. The
Auckland Council Port company has an outsday fifty five percent
rise and annual underlying profit off the back of a
fifteen point nine percent rise in revenue. With more Hair's
Business reporter Michael Sergel the.

Results been driven by both increased volumes and operational improvements.
It means the port can pay a fifty two million
dollar dividend to the council. Another forty five million dollars
which the port has raised from selling at stake in
Marsden Maritime holdings, will go to the council's Auckland Future Fund.

New Zealand Post is recommencing some shipments to the United
States its suspended or packaged services to the US as
new tariffs were being finalized. New Zealand was hit with
a fifteen percent base rate tariff at the beginning of

Lower mortgage rates and income growth have helped improve housing
affordability totality. Enz's new report finds the national value to
income ratio reached its lowest points since mid twenty nineteen

with interim name suppression is on trial in Wellington. He's
accused of killing five people by starting the fire in
May twenty twenty three. The jury has heard evidence from
several residents, including one man who leaped out a window
to escape. The Herald's Melissa Nightingale says today is the
fourth day in a five week trial. We are currently
going through the evidence of just what happened that night
