news Fix four Tuesday, the twenty ninth of July, the
Prime Minister is calling out the Nurses union as nationwide
strikes loom. More than thirty six thousand nurses, midwives and
healthcare assistants are set to walk off the job for
twenty four hours from nine am tomorrow. Life preserving services
will continue to be provided. Nurses Organization members are rejecting

Health New Zealand's eleven percent pay increase for graduate nurses
over safety concerns and staffing issues. Chris Luxen's disappointed with
the decision to strike.

I really want to see the unions get round the
table and continue negotiation. And there's a huge number of
people that are going to be inconvenience who won't get
their elective surgeries. They'll either be postponed or canceled and
that's not right.

Throwing in a CV and cover letter in response to
a job ad may not cut it anymore. As young
people face high unemployment rates, Stats n Z data shows
jobs for by fifteen to nineteen year olds dropped ten
percent in the last year, representing over twelve thousand rolls.
