In this update, there's flooding in parts of Auckland this
morning after an intense weather system across the city Overnight.
There were heavy downpalls as well as thunder and lightning.
Civil Defense says flooding has been recorded in areas of
Mount Albert, Mount Roscoo and on Hunger, but the extent
won't be clear until daylight. Auckland Emergency Management General manager

at a MAG says the heavy rain started just after midnight.

It ran in a line. They call it a thunderstorm
train because basically, you know, we just kept getting a
downpour after downpour, tracking along with each other, and that's
effectively what we experience.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
A Civil Defense center has this morning been opened at
the Fickling Convention Center at five hundred and forty six
Mount Albert Road for anyone impacted by the flooding. Meanwhile,
Met Service issued heavy rain mornings for the Bay of
Plenty and Northern Tide Aftet and the northwestern corner of
the South Island. A stretch of State Highway thirty five
between Hicks Bay and Portaka and Gisbon was also closed

overnight due to ponding and silt South tard Naki Mayor
Phil Nixon's his people living closer to the mountain will
likely get the brunt of the weather. If we do
have an event, Please just don't get out there until
it's safe, and then when you can get out, just
make sure your neighbors and everyone are safe and Parmeson
North smere wants convicted murderer Mark Lundy to stay away.

Lundy's been released on parole after being jailed for killing
his wife Christine and seven year old daughter Amber and
their Parmeson North home in two thousand. He's always maintained
his innocence. Among the conditions of his release, Lundy is
banned from entering Munawatu. Parmesan North Maya Grantsmith says he's
not welcome back anyway.

We're still quite a bit of feeling in the city
where a lot of people are obviously still remember it,
still quite angry about it.

That's news to Sport and the Crusader's coach Rob Penny
has hailed his team's resilience in the late stages of
their twenty five twenty two Super Rugby went over the
Blues in christ Church. The home side led nineteen seven
early in the second half, before the Blues clawed back
to take a twenty two to nineteen lead. Too late

Penny says his team's defensive effort was a standout and
